1Distribution of heavy metals in the water column,suspended particulate matters and the sediment under hydrodynamic conditions using an annular flume显示文摘Sediment resuspension plays an important role in the transport and fate of heavy metals in the aquatic environment.In the present study,the release and binding forms of Cr,Cu,Zn,Pb under hydrodynamic conditions were investigated using an annular flume.Two sediments located at YLZ and GBD from Liangshui River,Beijing were resuspended for 10hr at 0.159 and 0.267m/sec,respectively.The concentrations of suspended particulate matters of YLZ were higher than those of GBD during resuspension,indicating that the former sediment is more sensitive to the velocity.Cr in the dissolved phase stayed nearly constant at about 2.25 and 1.84μg/L for YLZ and GBD,respectively,due to the high percentage of its stable binding fractions in both sediments,while Cu,Zn,and Pb showed a fast release in the initial period of time.However,their concentrations in SPM generally decreased with time and were higher at the lower velocity of 0.159m/sec,which resulted from the entrainment and depressing effect of larger size particles with lower heavy metal content,commonly referred to as the 'particle concentration effect'.In addition,the binding form and heavy metal fractions were also found to vary during the resuspension event.A decrease in the sulphide/organic matters bounded form in GBD sediment was observed,whereas no visible changes were perceived in YLZ site samples.This phenomenon is due to the oxidation of heavy metal-sulphide binding forms,which originated from its high acid volatile sulphide content in GBD sediment.Jianzhi Huang Xiaopeng Ge Dongsheng Wang 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,12:12
2Prioritizing natural-selection signals from the deep-sequencing genomic data suggests multi-variant adaptation in Tibetan highlanders显示文摘Human genetic adaptation to high altitudes(>2500 m)has been extensively studied over the last few years,but few functional adaptive genetic variants have been identified,largely owing to the lack of deep-genome sequencing data available to previous studies.Here,w e build a list of putative adaptive variants,including 63 missense,7 loss-of-function;1,298 evolutionarily conserved variants and 509 expression quantitative traits loci.Notably,the top signal of selection is located in TMEM 247,a transmembrane protein-coding gene.The Tibetan version of TMEM 247 harbors one high-frequency(76.3%)missense variant,rsl 16983452(c.248C>T;p.Ala83Val);with the T allele derived from archaic ancestry and carried by>94%of Tibetans but absent or in low frequencies(<3%)in non-Tibetan populations.The rsl 16983452-T is strongly and positively correlated with altitude and significantly associated with reduced hemoglobin concentration(p=5.78×10^-5),red blood cell count(p=5.72×10^-7)and hematocrit(p=2.57×10^-6).In particular,TMEM247-rs 116983452 shows greater effect size and better predicts the phenotypic outcome than any E P A S1 variants in association with adaptive traits in Tibetans.Modeling the interaction between TM£M247-rsl 16983452 and EPAS1 variants indicates weak but statistically significant epistatic effects.Our results support that multiple variants may jointly deliver the fitness of the Tibetans on the plateau,where a complex model is needed to elucidate the adaptive evolution mechanism.Lian Deng Chao Zhang Kai Yuan Yang Gao Yuwen Pan Xueling Ge Yaoxi He Yuan Yuan Yan Lu Xiaoxi Zhang Hao Chen Haiyi Lou Xiaoji Wang Dongsheng Lu Jiaojiao Liu Lei Tian Qidi Feng Asifullah Khan Yajun Yang Zi-Bing Jin Jian Yang Fan Lu Jia Qu Longli Kang Bing Su Shuhua Xu 2019National Science Review2019,6,6:9
3Characterization of nanoscale iron and its degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol显示文摘Nanoscale iron was detected by TEM, X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. It was found that the size of the nanoscale iron particles is in the range of 30?40 nm according to TEM image, and it contains abundant Fe3O4 as passivating layers on the surface of the core-shell structure. To improve its performance, dilute HCl was used for the removal of the passivating layers, and the degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) was measured for the nanoscale iron samples treated and untreated. Experimental results demonstrated that the removal of 2,4-DCP by untreated nanoscale iron is mainly due to the adsorption of 2, 4-DCP by nanoscale iron, and there are no degradation products detected by HPLC in the process. However, excellent dechlorination of 2,4-DCP was gained by HCl-treated nanoscale iron, and 2-chlorophenol, 4-chlorophenol and phenol were detected during the process. 4Remobilization of heavy metals during the resuspension of Liangshui River sediments using an annular flume显示文摘The release and transport of heavy metals(Ni,Cr,Cu and Pb) from Liangshui River sediments into the overlying water column during the resuspension event were determined using an annular flume with a velocity ranging from 0.15 to 0.35 m/s.It is shown that the suspended particulate matters(SPM) increased as much as nearly 25 times from 165 to 4220 mg/L as the velocity increased.Heavy metals showed an increase in dissolved phase as the velocity increased due to their desorption from the SPM.Acid-soluble heavy metals increased as the velocity increased,indicating that part of the heavy metals transformed from stable phase to labile phase during resuspension.Heavy metal concentrations in the SPM on volume normalization increased by approximately 2-6 times.However,on the mass weighted basis they decreased,approaching the bulk-sediment contents at high velocity,due to the 'particle concentration effect'.The distribution coefficients(K D) of heavy metals were higher at slower velocity during the sediment resuspension,which could be attributed to the decrease of fine particles(silt/clay fraction) during resuspension.HUANG JianZhi GE XiaoPeng YANG XiaoFang ZHENG Bei WANG DongSheng 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,27:4
5Thermal deformation behavior and microstructure of nuclear austenitic stainless steel显示文摘Gleeble-1500D thermal simulation tester was employed in the hot-compression investigation of as-cast nuclear 304 austenitic stainless steel under conditions: deformation temperature 950―1200℃; deformations 30% and 50%; deformation rates 0.01 and 0.1 s?1. The results show that the flow stress decreases with temperature rise under the same strain rate and deformation, that the flow stress increases with deformation under the same temperature and strain rate, and that the flow stress increases with strain rate under the same temperature condition, i.e., work hardening becomes distinct. 6Diagnosis and treatment of infantile malignant solid tumors in Beijing,China:A multicenter 10-year retrospective study显示文摘Importance:Cancer is the main cause of death by disease in children.Children experience the highest incidence of cancer in the first year of life.However,there is no comprehensive registration system for children with tumors in China.Objective:To summarize the diagnosis and treatment of infant cancer and analyze the status of standardized diagnosis and management among several treatment centers in Beijing,China,thereby providing evidence to guide further clinical research.Methods:From January 1,2010 to December 31,2019,patients with newly diagnosed infantile malignant solid tumors were admitted to six large tertiary pediatric solid tumor diagnosis and treatment centers in Beijing.The epidemiology,clinical features,and therapeutic effects of tumors in these patients were analyzed retrospectively.All patients were followed up until March 31,2020.Results:In total,938 patients were enrolled in this study.There were 530 boys(56.5%)and 408 girls(43.5%);the median age was 6.0 months(range,0-12.0 months).The three most common tumors were retinoblastoma in 366 patients(39.0%),neuroblastoma in 266 patients(28.4%),hepatoblastoma in 133 patients(14.2%),and central nervous system tumors in 52 patients(5.5%).The estimated 5-year overall survival rate was 81.3%±1.8%,and the 5-year event-free survival rate was 71.8%±2.9%.The 5-year overall survival rates of non-rhabdomyosarcoma soft tissue sarcoma,neuroblastoma,and retinoblastoma were 100%,88%±2.2%,and 86.9%±2.1%,respectively.The 5-year event-free survival rates were 81.1%±2.7%for neuroblastoma,81.6%±9.8%for non-rhabdomyosarcoma soft tissue sarcoma,and 72.7%±14.1%for extracranial malignant germ cell tumors.Interpretation:The three most common infantile malignant solid tumors were retinoblastoma,neuroblastoma,and hepatoblastoma.Multidisciplinary combined diagnosis and treatment is needed for infantile tumors.Mei Jin Zhi Tian Yao Xie Zhaoxia Zhang Miao Li YaxiongYu Weiling Zhang Junyang Zhao Huanmin Wang Qi Zeng Long Li Ming Ge Ning Sun Xiaolun Zhang Jian Gong Wanshui Wu Rong Liu Weihong Zhao Dongsheng Huang Xiaoli Ma 2020Pediatric Investigation2020,4,3:3

9Dechlorination of 2,4-dichlorophenol by nickel nanoparticles under the acidic conditions显示文摘Metal nanoparticles are effective for remediation of contamination with a range of compounds including chlorinated organics.However,the sorption process of the passivation oxide layers on the metal nanoparticle surfaces may result in incomplete degradation of contaminants.This phenomenon can be prevented by an acidic washing procedure or reaction in an acidic medium.In this paper,nickel nanoparticles manufactured via the carbonyl powder process were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.The sorption and degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) by nickel nanoparticles under acidic conditions was then investigated.Transmission electron microscopy and XRD results showed that the nickel nanoparticles range in size from 10 to 20 nm,and a thin passivation layer of NiO is present on the surface.This oxide layer can be removed by pretreatment washing with acidic solutions.It was indicated that dechlorination was the key reaction pathway for degradation of 2,4-DCP by nickel nanoparticles under acidic conditions.The main degradation products were 4-Chlorophenol,2-Chlorophenol,and Phenol,and among these,Phenol was dominant.The acidic medium promoted degradation by providing an appropriate pH,and H+ may be involved in the reaction.Dechlorination of 2,4-DCP by nickel nanoparticles under the acidic condition follows the second order kinetic model,and the rate constants at 298,306,316 K are 0.02,0.2 and 0.3 (g L h)-1,respectively.FENG Li GE XiaoPeng LI Yi WANG DongSheng TANG HongXiao 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,21:1

16Anticarin-β shows a promising antiosteosarcoma effect by specifically inhibiting CCT4 to impair proteostasis显示文摘Unlike healthy, non-transformed cells, the proteostasis network of cancer cells is taxed to produce proteins involved in tumor development. Cancer cells have a higher dependency on molecular chaperones to maintain proteostasis. The chaperonin T-complex protein ring complex(TRiC) contains eight paralogous subunits(CCT1-8), and assists the folding of as many as 10% of cytosolic proteome.TRiC is essential for the progression of some cancers, but the roles of TRiC subunits in osteosarcoma remain to be explored. Here, we show that CCT4/TRiC is significantly correlated in human osteosarcoma,and plays a critical role in osteosarcoma cell survival. We identify a compound anticarin-β that can specifically bind to and inhibit CCT4. Anticarin-β shows higher selectivity in cancer cells than in normal cells. Mechanistically, anticarin-β potently impedes CCT4-mediated STAT3 maturation. 18ZNF3 regulates proliferation,migration and invasion through MMP1 and TWIST in colorectal cancer显示文摘Colorectal cancer(CRC)is a malignant tumor with a high incidence and mortality worldwide.Currently,the underlying molecular mechanisms of CRC are still unclear.Zinc finger protein 3(ZNF3)is a zinc-finger transcription factor that has been reported as a candidate for breast cancer prognosis,suggesting its involvement in the regulation of tumorigenesis.However,the association between ZNF3 and CRC remains unknown.To investigate the role of ZNF3 in CRC,we first analyze the correlation between ZNF3 expression and CRC,and the results demonstrate that ZNF3 is highly expressed in CRC tissue and cells,which is associated with the age of CRC patients.In vitro studies show that ZNF3 overexpression promotes CRC cell migration.Compared to control cells,knockdown of ZNF3 markedly suppresses CRC cell proliferation,migration and invasion and promotes G0/G1 phase cell cycle arrest.The expressions of the EMT-related markers TWIST and MMP1 are significantly decreased when ZNF3 is silenced.Additionally,overexpression of MMP1 and TWIST exacerbates CRC cell proliferation,accelerates the S phase cell cycle in ZNF3-knockdown SW480 cells,and increases cell migration and invasion through Transwell chambers.These data suggest that ZNF3 is involved in cellular proliferation,migration and invasion by regulating MMP1 and TWIST in CRC cells.Le Du Ning Liu Jianfeng Jin Meng Cao Yuantian Sun Xinzheng Gao Banzhan Ruan Shangfeng Yang Dongsheng Ge Yingzhuan Ye Yinxi Zhou Erfei Chen Jin Yang 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,12:1

20Study on wear characteristics and authorized limits of switch rails of high-speed turnout显示文摘Purpose-It is quite universal for high-speed turnouts to be exposed to the wear of the stock rail of the switch rail during the service process.The wear will cause the change of railhead profile and the relative positions of the switch rail and the stock rail,which will directly affect the wheel-rail contact state and wheel load transition when a train passes the turnout and will further impose serious impacts on the safety and stability of train operation.The purpose of this paper is to provide suggestions for wear management of high-speed turnout.Design/methodology/approach-The actual wear characteristics of switch rails of high-speed turnouts in different guiding directions were studied based on the monitoring results on site;the authorized wear limits for the switch rails of high-speed turnout were studied through derailment risk analysis and switch rail strength analysis.Findings-The results show that:the major factor for the service life of a curved switch rail is the lateral wear.The wear characteristics of the curved switch rail of a facing turnout are significantly different from those of a trailing turnout.To be specific,the lateral wear of the curved switch rail mainly occurs in the narrower section at its front end for a trailing turnout,but in the wider section at its rear end when for a facing turnout.The maximum lateral wear of a dismounted switch rail from a trailing turnout is found on the 15-mm wide section and is 3.9 mm,which does not reach the specified limit of 6 mm.For comparison,the lateral wear of a dismounted switch rail from a facing turnout is found from the 35-mm wide section to the full-width section and is greater than 7.5 mm,which exceeds the specified limit.Based on this,in addition to meeting the requirements of maintenance rules,the allowed wear of switch rails of high-speed turnout shall be so that the dangerous area with a tangent angle of wheel profile smaller than 43.68 will not contact the switch rail when the wheel is lifted by 2 mm.Accordingly,the lateral wear limit at the 5-mm wide section of the curved switch rail shall be reduced from 6 mm(as specified)to 3.5 mm.Originality/value-The work in this paper is of reference significance to the research on the development law of rail wear in high-speed turnout area and the formulation of relevant standards.Pu Wang Shuguo Wang Jing Ge Daolin Si Dongsheng Yang 2023Railway Sciences2023,2,2:0
