| 1 | Composition and solution properties of fluorinated block copolymers and their surface structures in the solid state显示文摘A series of diblock copolymers composed of methyl methacrylate and 2-perfluorooctylethyl methacry-late(PMMA144-b-PFMAn) with various PFMA block lengths were prepared by atom transfer radical po-lymerization(ATRP).The surface structures and properties of these polymers in the solid state and in solution were investigated using contact angle measurement,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),sum frequency generation(SFG) vibrational spectroscopy,surface tension and dynamic laser light scattering(DLS).It was found that with increasing PFMA block length,water and oil repellency de-creased,the ratio of F/C increased with increasing film depth,and the degree of ordered packing of the perfluoroalkyl side chains at the surface decreased.When the number of PFMA block units reached 10,PMMA segments were detected at the copolymer surface,which was attributed to the PFMA block length affecting molecular aggregation structure of the copolymer in the solution and the interfacial structure at the air/liquid interface,which in turn affects surface structure formation during solution solidification.The results suggest that copolymer solution properties play an important role in struc-ture formation on the solid surface. | NI HuaGang XUE DongWu WANG XiaoFang ZHANG Wei WANG XinPing SHEN ZhiQuan | 2009 | Science China Chemistry2009,52,2: | 6 |
| 2 | SYNTHESIS OF HYDROPHILIC ZnS NANOCRYSTALS AND THEIR APPLICATION IN PHOTOCATALYTIC DEGRADATION OF DYE POLLUTANTS显示文摘Hydrophilic ZnS nanocrystals with narrow size distribution were synthesized via homogeneous precipita- tion using EDTA as stabilizer. The as-synthesized products were characterized with XRD, TEM, HRTEM and UV-Vis spectrum. UV-Vis spectra showed that ZnS nanocrystals exhibited strong quantum-confined effect with a blue shift in the band gap of light absorbance. The photocatalytic activity of these nanocrystals was also investigated for the liquid phase photocatalytic degradation of Basic Violet 5BN (BV5) dye under UV irradiation. | 4 | Molecular basis for ligand activation of the human KCNQ2 channel显示文摘The voltage-gated potassium channel KCNQ2 is responsible for M-current in neurons and is an important drug target to treat epilepsy,pain and several other diseases related to neuronal hyper-excitability.A list of synthetic compounds have been developed to directly activate KCNQ2,yet our knowledge of their activation mechanism is limited,due to lack of high-resolution structures.Here,we report cryo-electron microscopy(cryo-EM)structures of the human KCNQ2 determined in apo state and in complex with two activators,ztz240 or retigabine,which activate KCNQ2 through different mechanisms.The activator-bound structures,along with electrophysiology analysis,reveal that ztz240 binds at the voltage-sensing domain and directly stabilizes it at the activated state,whereas retigabine binds at the pore domain and activates the channel by an allosteric modulation.By accurately defining ligand-binding sites,these KCNQ2 structures not only reveal different ligand recognition and activation mechanisms,but also provide a structural basis for drug optimization and design. | Xiaoxiao Li Qiansen Zhangc Peipei Guo Jie Fu Lianghe Mei Dashuai Lv Jiangqin Wang Dongwu Lai Sheng Ye Huaiyu Yang Jiangtao Guo | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,1: | 3 |

| 19 | Processing and Sintering of Agglomerate-free CaO-ZrO2 Powder显示文摘Coprecipitation supercritical fluid drying technology has been employed to synthesize calcia-stabilized zirconia ultrafine powder with low-cost inorganic salts as the starting materials. The sintering behaviors of these powders were also investigated. The results showed that supercritical fluid drying could effectively alleviate the hard agglomeration of grains during the gel drying process, and the morphology of the powder retained the network texture of the original gel.The resulting particles were characterized by small particle size (5~20 nm), better monodispersity and high surface area, which gave rise to high activity and sinterability. Consequently, these powders could readily be compacted into the desired shape and their densification could be carried out in shorter time and at lower temperatures.
