1Bract suppression regulated by the miR156/529-SPLs-NL1-PLA1 module is required for the transition from vegetative to reproductive branching in rice显示文摘Reproductive transition of grasses is characterized by switching the pattern of lateral branches,featuring the suppression of outgrowth of the subtending leaves(bracts)and rapid formation of higher-order branches in the inflorescence(panicle).However,the molecular mechanisms underlying such changes remain largely unknown.Here,we show that bract suppression is required for the reproductive branching in rice.We identified a pathway involving the intrinsic time ruler microRNAI56/529,their targets SQUAMOSA PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN LIKE(SPL)genes,NECK LEAF1(NL1),and PLASTOCHRON1(PLA1),which regulates the bract outgrowth and thus affects the pattern switch between vegetative and reproductive branching.Suppression of the bract results in global reprogramming of transcriptome and chromatin accessibility following the reproductive transition,while these processes are largely dysregu-lated in the mutants of these genes.These discoveries contribute to our understanding of the dynamic plant architecture and provide novel insights for improving crop yields.Lei Wang Luchang Ming Keyan Liao Chunjiao Xia Shengyuan Sun Yu Chang Hongkai Wang Debao Fu Conghao Xu Zhengji Wang Xu Li Weibo Xie Yidan Ouyang Qinglu Zhang Xianghua Li Qinghua Zhang Jinghua Xiao Qifa Zhang 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,7:2

4Optical Fiber Grating Sensor for Force Measurement of Anchor Cable显示文摘The development of the sensor suitable for measuring large load stress to the anchor cable becomes an important task in bridge construction and maintenance. Therefore, a new type of optical fiber sensor was developed in the laboratory - optical fiber grating sensor for force measurement of anchor cable (OFBFMAC). No similar report about this kind of sensor has been found up to now in China and other countries. This sensor is proved to be an effective way of monitoring in processes of anchor cable installation, cable cutting, cable force regulation, etc, with the accurate and repeatable measuring results. 5A potent PGK1 antagonist reveals PGK1 regulates the production of IL-1βand IL-6显示文摘Glycolytic metabolism enzymes have been implicated in the immunometabolism field through changes in metabolic status. PGK1 is a catalytic enzyme in the glycolytic pathway. Here, we set up a high-throughput screen platform to identify PGK1 inhibitors. DC-PGKI is an ATPcompetitive inhibitor of PGK1 with an affinity of Kd= 99.08 nmol/L. DC-PGKI stabilizes PGK1in vitro and in vivo, and suppresses both glycolytic activity and the kinase function of PGK1. In addition,DC-PGKI unveils that PGK1 regulates production of IL-1β and IL-6 in LPS-stimulated macrophages.Mechanistically, inhibition of PGK1 with DC-PGKI results in NRF2(nuclear factor-erythroid factor 2-related factor 2, NFE2L2) accumulation, then NRF2 translocates to the nucleus and binds to the proximity region of Il-1β and Il-6 genes, and inhibits LPS-induced expression of these genes. DC-PGKI ameliorates colitis in the dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)-induced colitis mouse model. 6Crystal structure of histidine-containing phosphocarrier protein from Thermoanaerobacter tengcongensis MB4 and the implications for thermostability显示文摘Protein thermostability is an inherent characteristic of proteins from thermophilic microorganisms,and therefore enables these organisms to survive at extreme temperatures.Although it is well-known that thermostable proteins are critical for the growth of thermophilic organisms,the structural basis of protein thermostability is not yet fully understood.The histidine-containing phosphocarrier (HPr) protein,a phosphate shuttle protein in the phosphoenolpyruvate-dependent sugar transport system (PTS) of bacterial species,is an ideal model for investigating protein thermostability with respect to its small size and deficiency in disulphide bonds or cofactors.In this study,the HPr protein from Thermoanaerobacter tengcongensis (TtHPr) is cloned and purified.Crystal structure with good quality has been determined at 2.3 resolution,which provides a firm foundation for exploring the thermostable mechanism.However,it shows that the crystal structure is conserved and no clue can be obtained from this single structure.Furthermore,detailed comparison of sequence and structure with the homologs from mesoor thermophilic bacteria shows no obvious rule for thermostability,but the extra salt-bridge existing only in thermophilic bacteria might be a better explanation for thermostability of HPr.Thus,mutations are performed to interrupt the salt-bridge in HPrs in thermophilic bacteria.Using site-directed mutations and the circular dichroism method,thermostability is evaluated,and the mutational variations are shown to have a faster denaturing rate than for wild-type viruses,indicating that mutations cause instability in the HPrs.Understanding the higher-temperature resistance of thermophilic and hyperthermophilic proteins is essential to studies on protein folding and stability,and is critical in engineering efficient enzymes that can work at a high temperature.FENG ChunYan GAO Feng LIU YiWei WANG GuiHua PENG Hao MA YanHe YAN JingHua GAO George Fu 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,6:2

15Heat exchange at air-sea interface in the South China Sea during monsoon periods in 1986显示文摘In order to explore the interaction be- tween the sea and monsoon in the South China Sea, the heat exchanges at air-sea interface during mon- soon periods in 1986 were calculated using observa- tional data. It shows that when the summer monsoon bursts and prevails over the South China Sea, the air-sea interface heat exchange is strong and the latent heat rises rapidly in the intertropical conver- gence zone and the tropic cyclone system near 20.49°N, 114.14°E. On May 24, 1986, the sensible heat became positive in the typhoon system. The heating exchange indicates that heat is transported from ocean to atmosphere, with major contribution of latent heat. When the summer monsoon prevails over the South China Sea and the weather is fine, even SST (sea surface temperature) is high, but sensible heat appears to be negative. The heat exchange indicates that heat is transported from atmosphere to ocean, with major contribution of short-wave radiation absorbed by sea surface and sensible heat. When summer monsoon is over and the northeast monsoon prevails over the South China Sea, the heat ex- change at air-sea interface is very strong. The heat- ing exchange shows that the ocean heats the at- mosphere, with major contribution of latent heat when cold air arrives at the sea surface and the sensible heat rises to positive rapidly. Therefore it can be concluded that the heat exchange at air-sea interface is different from the SST in South China Sea. 17Novel 1,3,5-thiadiazine-2-thione derivatives containing a hydrazide moiety:Design, synthesis and bioactive evaluation against phytopathogenic fungi in vitro and in vivo显示文摘A series of novel 1,3,5-thiadiazine-2-thione derivatives bearing a hydrazide moiety were designed, synthesized and evaluated for their antifungal activities against Rhizoctonia solani (Rs), Fusarium graminearum (Fg), Botrytis cinerea (Bc) and Colletotrichum capsici (Cc). The in vitro antifungal bioassays indicated that most of title compounds displayed good selectivity and specificity aganist Rs relative to Fg, Bc and Cc. Strikingly, the title compound N'-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-(5-phenyl-6-thioxo-1,3,5-thiadiazinan-3-yl)acethydrazide (5b) obviously inhibited the Rs growth in vitro with the EC50 value of 0.24μg/mL, which is approximately 2-folds more effective than the commercialized fungicide carbendazim (0.55 μg/mL). The in vivo anti-Rs effects of title compound 5b were further evaluated on rice leaves with control efficacies of 98.58% at 200 μg/mL and 61.27% at 100 μg/mL.
