1Surface sulfurization activating hematite nanorods for efficient photoelectrochemical water splitting显示文摘Surface treatment is an effective method to improve the photoelectrochemical(PEC) performance of photoelectrodes. Herein, we introduced a novel strategy of surface sulfurization to modify hematite(a-Fe2 O3)nanorods grown in an aqueous solution, which triggered encouraging improvement in PEC performances.In comparison to the solution-grown pristine a-Fe2 O3 nanorod photoanode that is PEC inefficient and always needs high temperature(>600 °C) activation, the surface sulfurized a-Fe2 O3 nanorods show photocurrent density increased by orders of magnitude, reaching 0.46 mA cmà2 at 1.23 V vs. RHE(reversible hydrogen electrode) under simulated solar illumination. This improvement in PEC performances should be attributed to the synergy of the increased carrier density, the reduced surface charge carrier recombination and the accelerated water oxidation kinetics at the a-Fe2 O3/electrolyte interface, as induced by the incorporation of S ions and the formation of multi-state S species(Fe-Sx-Oy) at the surface of a-Fe2 O3 nanorods. This study paves a new and facile approach to activate a-Fe2 O3 and even other metal oxides as photoelectrodes for improved PEC water splitting performances, by engineering the surface structure to relieve the bottlenecks of charge transfer dynamics and redox reaction kinetics at the electrode/electrolyte interface.Lianlian Mao Yu-Cheng Huang Yanming Fu Chung-Li Dong Shaohua Shen 2019Science Bulletin2019,64,17:6
2Optimal bulk-heterojunction morphology enabled by fibril network strategy for high-performance organic solar cells显示文摘A bicontinuous network formed spontaneously upon film preparation is highly desirable for bulk-heterojunction(BHJ) organic solar cells(OSCs). Many donor-acceptor(D-A) type conjugated polymers can self-assemble into polymer fibrils in the solid state and such fibril-assembly can construct the morphological framework by forming a network structure, inducing the formation of ideal BHJ morphology. Our recent works have revealed that the fibril network strategy(FNS) can control the blend morphology in fullerene, non-fullerene and ternary OSCs. It has been shown that the formation of fibril network can optimize phase separation scale and ensure efficient exciton dissociation and charge carriers transport, thus leading to impressive power conversion efficiencies(PCEs) and high fill factor(FF) values. 3Design of unknown input observer with H_∞ performance for linear time-delay systems显示文摘A unknown input observer (UIO) design for a class of linear time-delay systems when the observer error can’t completely decouple from unknown input is dealt with. A sufficient condition to its existence is presented based on Lyapunov stability method. Design problem of the proposed observer is formulated in term of linear matrix inequalities. Two design problems of the observer with internal delay and without internal delay are formulated. Based on H_∞ control theory in time-delay systems, the proposed observer is designed in term of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). A design algorithm is proposed. 4Cobalt oxide and carbon modified hematite nanorod arrays for improved photoelectrochemical water splitting显示文摘Given the proper band gap, low cost and good stability, hematite(α-Fe_2O_3) has been considered as a promising candidate for photoelectrochemical(PEC) water splitting, however suffers from the sluggish surface water oxidation reaction kinetics. In this study, a simple dip-coating process was used to modify the surface of α-Fe_2O_3 nanorod arrays with cobalt oxide(CoO_x) and carbon(C) for the improved PEC performance, with a photocurrent density at 1.6 V(vs. reversible hydrogen electrode, RHE) increased from 0.10 mA/cm^2 for the pristine α-Fe_2O_3 to 0.37 mA/cm^2 for the CoO_x/C modified α-Fe_2O_3 nanorods. As revealed by electrochemical analysis, thanks to the synergistic effect of CoO_x and C, the PEC enhancement could be attributed to the enhanced charge transfer ability, decreased surface charge recombination, and accelerated water oxidation reaction kinetics. 16Thermal property evaluation of a 2.5D integration method with device level microchannel direct cooling for a high-power GaN HEMT device显示文摘Gallium nitride high electron mobility transistor(GaN HEMT)devices have become critical components in the manufacturing of high-performance radio frequency(RF)or power electronic modules due to their superior characteristics,such as high electron saturation speeds and high power densities.However,the high heat characteristics of GaN HEMTs make device level cooling a critical problem to solve since performance degradation or even failure may occur under high temperatures.In this paper,we proposed a 2.5D integration method with devicelevel microchannel direct cooling for a high-power GaN HEMT device.To demonstrate this technological concept,a multigate GaN HEMT device featuring a gate length/width/source drain spacing of 0.5μm/300μm/6μm that underwent in-house backside thinning and metallization was used as the test vehicle.A high-resistivity silicon(HR Si)interposer embedded with four-layer microchannels was designed,having widths/pitches of 30μm/30μm at the top microchannel.The high-power GaN HEMT device was soldered on a Si interposer embedded with open microchannels for heat dissipation.A pair of GSG Pad chips was soldered simultaneously to display the capacity for the heterogeneous integration of other chip types.Thermal property evaluation was conducted with experiments and simulations.The test results showed that the maximum surface temperature of the GaN HEMT device decreased to 93.8°C when it experienced a heat dissipation density of 32 kW/cm^(2) in the gate finger area and an average heat dissipation density of 5 kW/cm^(2) was found in the active area with the DI water coolant at a flow rate of 3 mL/min.To our knowledge,among recently reported works,this finding was the best cooling capacity of heterogeneously integrated microchannels for GaN HEMT devices.In addition,this technology was scalable regarding the numbers of gate fingers or GaN HEMT devices.Tingting Lian Yanming Xia Zhizheng Wang Xiaofeng Yang Zhiwei Fu Xin Kong Shuxun Lin Shenglin Ma 2022Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,6:0
17Seasonal variations in the composition and functional profiles of gut microbiota reflect dietary changes in plateau pikas显示文摘Seasonal variations in gut microbiota of small mammals and how they are influenced by environmental variables are relatively poorly understood.We sampled 162 wild plateau pikas(Ochotona curzoniae)in 4 seasons over 2 and a half years and recorded the air temperature,precipitation,and nutrient content in edible vegetation at the sampling site.After conducting 16S rRNA and shotgun metagenomic sequencing,we found that the highest alpha diversity,the relative abundance of Firmicutes,and the simplest co-occurrence network occurred in winter,whereas the highest relative abundance of Proteobacteria and the most complex network structure were observed in spring.The highest relative abundance of Verrucomicrobiota and Spirochaetota was seen in summer and autumn,respectively.Air temperature,precipitation,and the contents of crude protein,crude fiber,and polysaccharide in vegetation had significant effects on the seasonal changes in gut microbiota.Diet contributed more to microbial variation than climatic factors.Metagenomic analysis revealed that the amino acid metabolism pathway and axillary activity enzymes were most abundant in summer,while abundance of carbohydrate-binding modules and carbohydrate esterases was highest in spring.These microbial variations were related to the changes in dietary nutrition,indicating that gut microbiota of plateau pika contribute to the efficient use of food resources.This study provides new evidence of how external environmental factors affect the intestinal environment of small mammals.Chao FAN Liangzhi ZHANG Shangang JIA Xianjiang TANG Haibo FU Wenjing LI Chuanfa LIU He ZHANG Qi CHENG Yanming ZHANG 2022Integrative Zoology2022,17,3:0
18Solar-driven high-temperature steam generation at ambient pressure显示文摘This paper demonstrates a facile solar steam generator for the generation of high-temperature steam at ambient pressure. The steam generator consists of a coiled copper tube(CCT) that serves as both solar collector and vapor heater. Both the inner and outer surfaces of the CCT are coated with black superhydrophobic copper oxide layer to improve the solar absorption, and such superhydrophobic layer prevents the condensation and clogging of water vapor during the heating process. Solar vapor is generated at the inlet of CCT through interfacial evaporation and subsequently heated inside the CCT as the vapor travels from the inlet to the outlet. By employing this approach, steam temperature that exceeds 100℃ under 1-sun illumination is demonstrated. Furthermore,steam temperature could reach as high as 250℃ under 10-sun illumination at ambient pressure. Successful sterilization experiment was also performed in this work to demonstrate the potential application of the high temperature steam generated. 19The View of Micropropulsion Technology for China’s Advanced Small Platforms in Deep Space显示文摘In this paper,micropropulsion systems are analyzed in conjunction with the various mission requirements of China’s deep space exploration.As a great challenge facing the world,deep space exploration can be enabled only in a few countries with a success rate of around 50%.With the advancement of spacecraft and scientific instruments,it is now feasible to build small and low-cost spacecraft for a variety of deep space missions.As spacecraft become smaller,there is a need for proper micropropulsion systems.Examples of propulsion system selections for deep space exploration are discussed with a focus on products developed by Beijing Institute of Control Engineering(BICE).The requirements for propulsion systems are different in lunar/interplanetary exploration and gravitational wave detection.Chemical propulsion is selected for fast orbit transfer and electric propulsion for increasing scientific payloads.Cold gas propulsion and microelectric propulsion are good choices for space-based gravitational wave detection due to the capability of variable thrust output at the micro-Newton level.The paper also introduces the sub-1-U micropropulsion modules developed by BICE with satisfactory performance in flight tests,which are promising propulsion systems for small deep space platforms.A small probe with an electric sail propulsion system has been proposed for the future solar system boundary exploration of China.The electric sail serves as not only a propellant-free thruster but also a detector probing the properties of the space medium.Yanming Wei Hao Yan Xuhui Liu Yang Yu Jinyue Geng Tao Chen Tuoqu Fu Gaoshi Su Yu Hu Daoman Han 2022Space(Science & Technology)2022,,1:0
20Robust guaranteed cost filtering for uncertain timedelay systems with Markovian jumping parameters显示文摘The robust guaranteed cost filtering problem for a class of linear uncertain stochastic systems with time delays is investigated. The system under study involves time delays, jumping parameters and Brownian motions. The transition of the jumping parameters in systems is governed by a finitestate Markov process. The objective is to design linear memoryless filters such that for all uncertainties, the resulting augmented system is robust stochastically stable independent of delays and satisfies the proposed guaranteed cost performance. Based on stability theory in stochastic differential equations, a sufficient condition on the existence of robust guaranteed cost filters is derived. Robust guaranteed cost filters are designed in terms of linear matrix inequalities.
