1Visualization of the complex structure and stress field inside rock by means of 3D printing technology显示文摘Accurate characterization and visualization of the complex inner structure and stress distribution of rocks are of vital significance to solve a variety of underground engineering problems. In this paper, we incorporate several advanced technologies, such as CT scan, three-dimensional(3D) reconstruction, and 3D printing, to produce a physical model representing the natural coal rock that inherently contains complex fractures or joints. We employ 3D frozen stress and photoelastic technologies to characterize and visualize the stress distribution within the fractured rock under uniaxial compression. The 3D printed model presents the fracture structures identical to those of the natural prototype. The mechanical properties of the printed model,including uniaxial compression strength, elastic modulus,and Poisson's ratio, are testified to be similar to those of the prototype coal rock. The frozen stress and photoelastic tests show that the location of stress concentration and the stress gradient around the discontinuous fractures are in good agreement with the numerical predictions of the real coalsample. The proposed method appears to be capable of visually quantifying the influences of discontinuous,irregular fractures on the strength, deformation, and stress concentration of coal rock. 2Lattice-Boltzmann simulation of microscale CH_4 flow in porous rock subject to force-induced deformation显示文摘Accurate knowledge of the influence of rock deformation on the permeability of fluid flow is of great significance to a variety of engineering applications, such as simultaneous extraction of coal and gas, oil/gas exploitation, CO2 geological sequestration, and underground water conservation. Based on the CT representation of pore structures of sandstones, a LBM(Lattice Boltzmann Method) for simulating CH4 flow in pore spaces at microscale levels and a parallel LBM algorithm for largesize porous models are developed in this paper. The properties of CH4 flow in porous sandstones and the effects of pore structure are investigated using LBM. The simulation is validated by comparing the results with the measured data. In addition, we incorporate LBM and FEM to probe the deformation of microstructures due to applied triaxial forces and its influence on the properties of CH4 flow. It is shown that the proposed method is capable of visually and quantitatively describing the characteristics of microstructure, spatial distribution of flow velocity of CH4,permeability, and the influences of deformation of pore spaces on these quantities as well. 4Fast-Suppressor Screening for New Components in Protein Trafficking,Organelle Biogenesis and Silencing Pathway in Arabidopsis thaliana Using DEX-Inducible FREE1-RNAi Plants显示文摘Membrane trafficking is essential for plant growth and responses to external signals.The plant unique FYVE domain-containing protein FREE1 is a component of the ESCRT complex(endosomal sorting complex required for transport).FREE1 plays multiple roles in regulating protein trafficking and organelle biogenesis including the formation of intraluminal vesicles of multivesicular body(MVB),vacuolar protein transport and vacuole biogenesis,and autophagic degradation.FREE1 knockout plants show defective MVB formation,abnormal vacuolar transport,fragmented vacuoles,accumulated autophagosomes,and seedling lethality.To further uncover the underlying mechanisms of FREE1 function in plants,we performed a forward genetic screen for mutants that suppressed the seedling lethal phenotype of FREE1-RNAi transgenic plants.The obtained mutants are termed as suppressors of free1(sof).To date,229 putative sof mutants have been identified.Barely detecting of FREE1 protein with M3plants further identified 84 FREE1-related suppressors.Also145 mutants showing no reduction of FREE1 protein were termed as RNAi-related mutants.Through next-generation sequencing(NGS)of bulked DNA from F2mapping population of two RNAi-related sof mutants,FREE1-RNAi T-DNA inserted on chromosome 1 was identified and the causal mutation of putative sof mutant is being identified similarly.These FREE1-and RNAi-related sof mutants will be useful tools and resources for illustrating the underlying mechanisms of FREE1 function in intracellular trafficking and organelle biogenesis,as well as for uncovering the new components involved in the regulation of silencing pathways in plants.Qiong Zhao Caiji Gao PoShing Lee Lin Liu Shaofang Li Tangjin Hu Jinbo Shen Shuying Pan Hao Ye Yunru Chen Wenhan Cao Yong Cui Peng Zeng Sheng Yu Yangbin Gao Liang Chen Beixin Mo Xin Liu Shi Xiao Yunde Zhao Silin Zhong Xuemei Chen Liwen Jiang 2015Journal of Genetics and Genomics2015,42,6:4

6Dlg1 Knockout Inhibits Microglial Activation and Alleviates Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Depression-Like Behavior in Mice显示文摘Microglia-mediated neuroinflammation is widely perceived as a contributor to numerous neurological diseases and mental disorders including depression.Discs large homolog 1(Dlg1),an adaptor protein,regulates cell polarization and the function of K?channels,which are reported to regulate the activation of microglia.However,little is known about the role of Dlg1 in microglia and the maintenance of central nervous system homeostasis.In this study,we found that Dlg1 knockdown suppressed lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced inflammation by downregulating the activation of nuclear factor-jB signaling and the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway in microglia.Moreover,using an inducible Dlg1 microglia-specific knockout(Dlg1flox/flox;CX3CR1CreER)mouse line,we found that microglial Dlg1 knockout reduced the activation of microglia and alleviated the LPS-induced depressionlike behavior.In summary,our results demonstrated that Dlg1 plays a critical role in microglial activation and thus provides a potential therapeutic target for the clinical treatment of depression.Zhixin Peng Xiaoheng Li Jun Li Yuan Dong Yuhao Gao Yajin Liao Meichen Yan Zengqiang Yuan Jinbo Cheng 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,12:2

8Non-Algorithmically Integrating Land Use Type with Spatial Interpolation of Surface Soil Nutrients in an Urbanizing Watershed显示文摘Integrating land use type and other geographic information within spatial interpolation has been proposed as a solution to improve the performance and accuracy of soil nutrient mapping at the regional scale.This study developed a non-algorithm approach,i.e.,applying inverse distance weighting(IDW) and ordinary kriging(OK),to individual land use types rather than to the whole watershed,to determine if this improved the performance in mapping soil total C(TC),total N(TN),and total P(TP) in a 200-km2 urbanizing watershed in Southeast China.Four land use types were identified by visual interpretation as forest land,agricultural land,green land,and urban land.One hundred and fifty soil samples(0-10 cm) were taken according to land use type and patch size.Results showed that the non-algorithm approach,interpolation based on individual land use types,substantially improved the performance of IDW and OK for mapping TC,TN,and TP in the watershed.Root mean square errors were reduced by 3.9%for TC,10.7%for TN,and 25.9%for TP by the application of IDW,while the improvements by OK were slightly lower as 0.9%for TC,7.7%for TN,and 18.1%for TP.Interpolations based on individual land use types visually improved depiction of spatial patterns for TC,TN,and TP in the watershed relative to interpolations by the whole watershed.Substantial improvements might be expected with denser sampling points.We suggest that this non-algorithm approach might provide an alternative to algorithm-based approaches to depict watershed-scale nutrient patterns.WU Qian LI Qingliang GAO Jinbo LIN Qiaoying XU Qiufang Peter M.GROFFMAN YU Shen 2017Pedosphere2017,27,1:2
9Privacy-preserving edge-assisted image retrieval and classification in IoT显示文摘Internet of Things (IoT) has drawn much attention in recent years. However, the image data captured by IoT terminal devices are closely related to users, personal information, which are sensitive and should be protected. Though traditional privacy-preserving outsourced computing solutions such as homomorphic cryptographic primitives can support privacy-preserving computing, they consume a significant amount of computation and storage resources. Thus, it becomes a heavy burden on IoT terminal devices with limited resources. In order to reduce the resource consumption of terminal device, we propose an edge-assisted privacy-preserving outsourced computing framework for image processing, including image retrieval and classification. The edge nodes cooperate with the terminal device to protect data and support privacy-preserving computing on the semitrusted cloud server. Under this framework, edge-assisted privacy-preserving image retrieval and classification schemes are proposed in this paper. 17Simulated impacts of atmospheric gravity waves on the initiation and optical emissions of sprite halos in the mesosphere显示文摘The correlation between atmospheric gravity waves(GWs) and Transient Luminous Events(TLEs) has been poorly studied using both synchronous observations and numerical simulations. To investigate the modulation effects of GWs on TLEs,a troposphere-mesosphere quasi-electrostatic field model is developed in three-dimensional Cartesian coordinates, and the effects of GW perturbations on the initiation and optical emissions of sprite halos are simulated using the model. Simulation results indicate that the atmospheric density at lower ionosphere altitudes becomes inhomogeneous due to GW perturbations, and sprite halos tend to initiate in the GW troughs due to the lower electric breakdown threshold. GW perturbations cause the deformation of sprite halos, strong luminous regions distribute mainly along the GW troughs while optical intensities along the GW peaks is relatively weak. Larger GW perturbations lead to more pronounced deformation of sprite halos, however, stronger lightning discharges in the troposphere result in less optical perturbations of sprite halos.
