A Chromosome-Scale Genome Assembly of Paper Mulberry(Bmussonetia papyrifera)Provides New Insights into Its Forage and Papermaking Usage显示文摘Paper mulberry(Broussonetia papyrifera)is a well-known woody tree historically used for Cai Lun papermaking, one of the four great inventions of ancient China.More recently,Paper mulberry has also been used as forage to address the shortage of feedstuff because of its digestible crude fiber and high protein contents. In this study,we obtained a chromosome-scale genome assembly for Paper mulberry using integrated approaches, including Illumina and PacBio sequencing platform as well as Hi-C,optical,and genetic maps. The assembled Paper mulberry genome consists of 386.83 Mb,which is close to the estimated size, and 99.25%(383.93 Mb)of the assembly was assigned to 13 pseudochromosomes.Comparative genomic analysis revealed the expansion and contraction in the flavonoid and lignin biosynthetic gene families, respectively, accounting for the enhanced flavonoid and decreased lignin biosynthesis in Paper mulberry. Moreover, the increased ratio of syringyl-lignin to guaiacyl-lignin in Paper mulberry underscores its suitability for use in medicine, forage, papermaking, and barkcloth making. We also identified the rootassociated microbiota of Paper mulberry and found that Pseudomonas and Rhizobia were enriched in its roots and may provide the source of nitrogen for its stems and leaves via symbiotic nitrogen fixation.Collectively, these results suggest that Paper mulberry might have undergone adaptive evolution and recruited nitrogen-fixing microbes to promote growth by enhancing flavonoid production and altering lignin monomer composition. Our study provides significant insights into genetic basis of the usefulness of Paper mulberry in papermaking and barkcloth making, and as forage. These insights will facilitate further domestication and selection as well as industrial utilization of Paper mulberry worldwide. | Xianjun Peng Hui Liu Peilin Chen Feng Tang Yanmin Hu Fenfen Wang Zhi Pi Meiling Zhao Naizhi Chen Hui Chen Xiaokang Zhang Xueqing Yan Min Liu Xiaojun Fu Guofeng Zhao Pu Yao Lili Wang He Dai Xuming Li Wei Xiong Wencai Xu Hongkun Zheng Haiyan Yu Shihua Shen | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,5: | 18
The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. As there were obvious heterogeneity in autoantibodies and clinical manifestation in different phenotypes of the disease, we should take more factors into consideration when identifying type 1 diabetes mellitus. | Jin Liu Lingling Bian Li Ji Yang Chen Heng Chen Yong Gu Bingqin Ma Wei Gu Xinyu Xu Yun Shi Jian Wang Dalong Zhu Zilin Sun Jianhua Ma Hui Jin Xing Shi Heng Miao Bing Xin Yan Zhu Zhenwen Zhang Ruifang Bu Lan Xu Guangde Shi Wei Tang Wei Li Dongmei Zhou Jun Liang Xingbo Cheng Bimin Shi Jixiang Dong Ji Hu Chen Fang Shao Zhong Weinan Yu Weiping Lu Chenguang Wu Li Qian Jiancheng Yu Jialin Gao Xiaoqiang Fei Qingqing Zhang Xueqin Wang Shiwei Cui Jinluo Cheng Ning Xu Guofeng Wang Guoqing Han Chunrong Xu Yun Xie Minmin An Wei Zhang Zhixiao Wang Yun Cai Qi Fu Yu Fu Shuai Zheng Fan Yang Qingfang Hu Hao Dai Yu Jin Zheng Zhang Kuanfeng Xu Yifan Li Jie Shen Hongwen Zhou Wei He Xuqin Zheng Xiao Han Liping Yu Jinxiong She Mei Zhang Tao Yang | 2016 | Science China(Life Sciences)2016,59,9: | 5
Specific Emitter Identification for IoT Devices Based on Deep Residual Shrinkage Networks显示文摘Specific emitter identification can distin-guish individual transmitters by analyzing received signals and extracting inherent features of hard-ware circuits.Feature extraction is a key part of traditional machine learning-based methods, but manual extrac-tion is generally limited by prior professional knowl-edge.At the same time,it has been noted that the per-formance of most specific emitter identification meth-ods degrades in the low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)environments. The deep residual shrinkage network(DRSN)is proposed for specific emitter identification, particularly in the low SNRs.The soft threshold can preserve more key features for the improvement of performance, and an identity shortcut can speed up the training process. We collect signals via the receiver to create a dataset in the actual environments. The DRSN is trained to automatically extract features and imple-ment the classification of transmitters.Experimental results show that DRSN obtains the best accuracy un-der different SNRs and has less running time, which demonstrates the effectiveness of DRSN in identify-ing specific emitters. | Peng Tang Yitao Xu Guofeng Wei Yang Yang Chao Yue | 2021 | China Communications2021,18,12: | 4

A potent neutralizing antibody provides protection against SARS-CoV-2 Omicron and Delta variants via nasal delivery显示文摘Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)is still rapidly spreading worldwide. Many drugs and vaccines have been approved for clinical use show efficacy in the treatment and prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infections. However, the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern(VOCs),such as Delta(B.1.617.2)and the recently emerged Omicron(B.1.1.529),has seriously challenged the application of current therapeutics. Therefore, there is still a pressing need for identification of new broad-spectrum antivirals. Here,we further characterized a human antibody(58G6),which we previously isolated from a patient, with a broadly authentic virus-neutralizing activity that inhibits the Delta and Omicron variants with half-maximal inhibitory concentrations(ICso)of 1.69 ng/ml and 54.31 ng/ml,respectively.58G6 shows prophylactic and therapeutic effcacy in hamsters challenged with the Delta and Omicron variants through nasal delivery.Notably,a very low dosage(2 mg/kg daily)of 58G6 efficiently prevented Omicron variant replication in the lungs. These advantages may overcome the efficacy limitation of currently approved neutralizing antibodies that can be administered only by intravenous injection. In general,58G6 is a promising prophylactic and therapeutic candidate against current circulating VOCs and even future emerging mutants. To the best of our knowledge,58G6 is one of the most potent neutralizing antibodies against Omicron, with a broader spectrum than those approved for clinical use.58G6 could be developed as a nebulized therapy, which would be more cost effective and user friendly and enhance the clinical outcome comparedto thatobtainedwithdirect nasaldelivery. | Xinghai Zhang Huajun Zhang Tingting Li Shaohong Chen Feiyang Luo Junhui Zhou Peiyi Zheng Shuyi Song Yan Wu Tengchuan Jin Ni Tang Aishun Jin Chengyong Yang Guofeng Cheng Rui Gong Sandra Chiu Ailong Huang | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,9: | 1
Breaking the symmetry of colloidal 2D nanoplatelets:Twist induced quantum coupling显示文摘Twist provides a new degree of freedom for nanomaterial modifications, which can provide novel physical properties. Here, colloidal two-dimensional(2D)twisted CdSe nanoplatelets(NPLs)are successfully fabricated and their morphology can change from totally flat to edge-twisted,and then to middle-twisted with prolonged reaction time.By combining experiments and corresponding theoretical analyses,we have established the length-dependent relationships between the surface energy and twist, with a critical lateral dimension of 30 nm.We found that the defects formed during the synthesis process play a vital role in generating intense stress that develops a strong torsion tensor around the edges, resulting in edge-twisted and final middletwisted NPLs.Furthermore, due to the geometric asymmetry of twisted NPLs,the dissymmetry factor of single particle NPLs can reach up to 0.334.Specifically,quantum coupling occurs in middle-twisted NPLs by twisting one parent NPL into two daughter NPLs,which are structurally and electronically coupled. This work not only further deepens our understanding of the twist mechanism of 2D NPLs during colloidal synthesis, but also opens a pathway for applications using twistronics and quantum technology. | Zahid Nazir Yingzhuo Lun Jialu Li Gaoling Yang Mingrui Liu Shuqi Li Gang Tang Guofeng Zhang Jiawang Hong Liantuan Xiao Haizheng Zhong | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,7: | 0

Research on the Motion Track of Ocean Towing System显示文摘In this paper, a method for predicting the position of towline is presented. The location of the finite node is determined by installing fixed spaced attitude sensors in towline arrays, then the appropriate objective functions are selected for water depth profile and course profile respectively, and the interpolation fitting method is combined with the determined predicted positions. Through the hydrodynamic analysis of the existing towing cable’s underwater motion, the position of the towing cable under the steady state motion is obtained as the reference basis, and two methods are put forward, which are improved spline interpolation method, polynomial fitting method and multivariate nonlinear regression analysis. In the case of steady state motion, the two methods are compared and compared with the hydrodynamic simulation results. Finally, a more suitable method is selected as the basis of cable location inversion and applied to deep-sea towing operations. | Jie Yuan Feng Sun Guofeng Tang Zubin Chen Lingling Zheng Xinran Yang | 2019 | 国际计算机前沿大会会议论文集2019,,2: | 0

Influence of Nb addition on microstructural evolution and compression mechanical properties of Ti-Zr alloys显示文摘In order to expand the application horizon of Ti-Zr based alloys, the influence of Nb content on phase composition, microstructural evolution and biomechanical properties is systematically studied. The phase and microstructural characterization of the as-cast alloys is carried out by X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results reveal that Nb-containing Ti-Zr alloys transformed from single a phase→α+α'+β phase single β phase double β phases with increasing Nb content. In the case of β-type alloys, the addition of Nb improves the bonding energy between atoms, reduces the grain size, increases the elastic modulus, improves the yield strength and renders superior work-hardening behavior. Moreover, the current study provides mechanistic insights into microstructural evolution and strengthening of Nb-containing Ti-Zr alloys with increasing Nb content.Herein, the addition of 5 at.% Nb resulted in an abnormal work hardening during compression deformation under the synergistic influence of stress-induced martensite transformation of β phase and stress-induced twinning of α phase. Moreover, the biomechanical properties are evaluated to demonstrate the potential of Nb-containing Ti-Zr alloys in biological applications. | Pengfei Ji Bohan Chen Bo Li Yihao Tang Guofeng Zhang Xinyu Zhang Mingzhen Ma Riping Liu | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,10: | 0
