| 1 | Climatic Warming and Humidification in the Arid Region of Northwest China: Multi-Scale Characteristics and Impacts on Ecological Vegetation显示文摘The climatic warming and humidification observed in the arid region of Northwest China(ARNC) and their impacts on the ecological environment have become an issue of concern. The associated multi-scale characteristics and environmental responses are currently poorly understood. Using data from satellite remote sensing, field observations, and the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 6, this paper systematically analyzes the process and scale characteristics of the climatic warming and humidification in the ARNC and their impacts on ecological vegetation. The results show that not only have temperature and precipitation increased significantly in the ARNC over the past 60 years, but the increasing trend of precipitation is also obviously intensifying. The dryness index, which comprehensively considers the effects of precipitation and temperature, has clearly decreased, and the trend in humidification has increased. Spatially, the trend of temperature increase has occurred over the entire region, while 93.4% of the region has experienced an increase in precipitation, suggesting a spatially consistent climatic warming and humidification throughout the ARNC. Long-term trends and interannual changes in temperature and precipitation dominate the changes in climatic warming and humidification. Compared to interannual variations in temperature, the trend change of temperature contributes more to the overall temperature change. However, the contribution of interannual variations in precipitation is greater than that of the precipitation trend to the overall precipitation change. The current climatic warming and humidification generally promote the growth of ecological vegetation. Since the 1980 s,82.4% of the regional vegetation has thrived. The vegetation index has a significant positive correlation with precipitation and temperature. However, it responds more significantly to interannual precipitation variation, although the vegetation response varies significantly under different types of land use. The warming and humidification of the climate in the ARNC are probably related to intensifications of the westerly wind circulation and ascending air motions.They are expected to continue in the future, although the strength of the changes will probably be insufficient to significantly change the basic climate pattern in the ARNC. | 2 | Analysis for retrieval and validation results of FY-3 Total Ozone Unit (TOU)显示文摘Retrieval experiment was made for global total column ozone using the first year measurements of Total Ozone Unit (TOU) on board the second generation polar orbiting meteorological satellite of China, FY-3/A. The retrieval results were analyzed and validated by comparison with AURA/OMI, Meteop/GOME-2 global ozone products and ground-based ozone measurement data. The qualititative comparisons over the globe especially over Antarctica and the Tibetan Plateau show that the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics are consistent with OMI and GOME-2 products. The quantitative comparisons with ground-based measurements and AURA/OMI ozone product were made over 74 stations, the TOU total ozone retrieval has a 3% rms relative error compared with AURA/OMI ozone product and 4.2% rms relative error with ground-based measurements. The maximum difference between satellite retrieval and ground-based measurements was found in the Antarctica ozone hole. | 6 | Quantitative structure-activity relationship in the photodegradation of azo dyes显示文摘The photolysis characteristics of azo dyes are critically important in environmental pollution control,dye-sensitized solar cells,and dyeing-related industries.However,there is still lack of quantitative relationship between the structures of azo dyes and their photolysis characteristics.To address this issue,the photolysis of 22 azo dyes were conducted side by side at three pH(4.0,6.0,9.0).The obtained pseudo-first order photodegradation rate constants(k1)were processed with meta-analysis.Statistically,the hydrazone tautomer had a smaller excitation energy and was easier to undergo photolysis than the azo tautomer.The ortho-substituted sulfonate groups had an obvious protective effect on the photo stability of azo dyes.The softness(s),the most positive and negative partial charge on a carbon atom(qC+,qC-)were found to be crucial descriptors in the establishment of QSAR models for the photo stability of azo dyes.The QSAR model at pH 9.0 was robust for predicting the photo stability of azo dyes under UV irradiation.N2-purging experiments and quantum chemical computation verified that the cleavage of azo bond was not a result of direct photolysis but was caused by the attack of photoinduced reactive oxygen species.The results here are helpful for the design of more stable azo dyes or the selection of suitable approaches for the treatment of dyecontaminated water bodies. | Guoyang Zhang Shujuan Zhang | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,4: | 4 |

| 9 | Dual reciprocity boundary element based block model for discontinuous deformation analysis显示文摘This paper presents a further development of the dual reciprocity boundary element method(DRBEM) with stepwise updating to pave the way for the introduction of boundary element mesh into the discontinuous deformation analysis(DDA). The advantage of the proposed method lies in its adoption of static fundamental solutions and reduction in the size of the governing equations by transforming the inertial term domain integrals to boundary integrals in the dynamic large displacement analysis. The unconditionally stable Newmark-β time integration method involving numerical damping to enhance the numerical stability is implemented for the dynamic analysis. In order to be coupled with the DDA to improve the deformability of the DDA block domains, a stepwise updating algorithm of the system variables is introduced. The stress updating in the analysis involved in the calculation of a domain integral and internal cells are used for the integration of the initial stress term. | 10 | Value of Preoperative Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio in Predicting Prognosis of Surgically Resectable Urinary Cancers: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis显示文摘Objective Accumulated evidence has suggested that there is a close association between preoperative neutrophilto-lymphocyte ratio(NLR)and prognosis of various malignant tumors.However,the relationship between NLR and surgically resectable urinary cancers remains contradictory.Therefore,we performed this systematic review and meta-analysis to explore whether preoperative NLR could predict the prognosis of surgically resectable urinary cancers.Methods After searching the Embase,PubMed/MEDLINE and Cochrane databases and screening the articles,we finally included 25 studies involving 15950 patients.Hazard ratios(HRs)and their 95%confidence intervals(CIs)were extracted to assess the association between preoperative NLR and the overall survival(OS)and cancerspecific survival(CSS)of surgically resectable urinary cancers.Results The pooled results revealed that an elevated preoperative NLR could predict a worse OS(HR=1.40,95%CI:1.26–1.54,P<0.001)and CSS(HR=1.43,95%CI:1.27–1.59,P<0.001)in urinary cancers.In addition,our analyses also suggested that high preoperative NLR was associated with worse prognosis in renal cell carcinoma(OS:HR=2.06,95%CI:1.54–2.76,P=0.131;CSS:HR=2.46,95%CI:1.46–4.16,P=0.178),upper tract urothelial carcinoma(OS:HR=1.91,95%CI:1.50–2.42,P=0.616;CSS:HR=1.84,95%CI:1.41–2.39,P=0.001),bladder cancer(OS:HR=1.09,95%CI:1.02–1.17,P<0.001;CSS:HR=1.05,95%CI:1.01–1.09,P=0.163)and prostate cancer(OS:HR=1.69,95%CI:1.19–2.41,P=0.714).Regardless of the participants’race or the cutoff value of the preoperative NLR,the results remained valid.Conclusion Elevated preoperative NLR could predict a worse prognosis in surgically resectable urinary cancers,namely,renal cell carcinoma,bladder cancer,prostate cancer and upper tract urothelial carcinoma. | Zhan Wang Xu Wang Wenda Wang Guoyang Zheng Hao Guo Yushi Zhang | 2020 | Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2020,35,3: | 2 |
