| 1 | Perspectives on studies on soil carbon stocks and the carbon sequestration potential of China显示文摘Soil carbon stocks and sequestration have been given a lot of attention recently in the study of terrestrial ecosystems and global climate change.This review focuses on the progress made on the estimation of the soil carbon stocks of China,and the characterization of carbon dynamics of croplands with regard to climate change,and addresses issues on the mineralization of soil organic carbon in relation to greenhouse gas emissions.By integrating existing research data,China's total soil organic carbon(SOC) stock is estimated to be 90 Pg and its inorganic carbon(SIC) stock as 60 Pg,with SOC sequestration rates in the range of 20-25 Tg/a for the last two decades.An estimation of the biophysical potential of SOC sequestration has been generally agreed as being 2 Pg over the long term,of which only 1/3 could be attainable using contemporary agricultural technologies in all of China's croplands.Thus,it is critical to enhance SOC sequestration and mitigate climate change to improve agricultural and land use management in China.There have been many instances where SOC accumulation may not induce an increased amount of decomposition under a warming scenario but instead favor improved cropland productivity and ecosystem functioning.Furthermore,unchanged or even decreased net global warming potential(GWP) from croplands with enhanced SOC has been reported by a number of case studies using life cycle analysis.Future studies on soil carbon stocks and the sequestration potential of China are expected to focus on:(1) Carbon stocks and the sequestration capacity of the earths' surface systems at scales ranging from the plot to the watershed and(2) multiple interface processes and the synergies between carbon sequestration and ecosystem productivity and ecosystem functioning at scales from the molecular level to agro-ecosystems.Soil carbon science in China faces new challenges and opportunities to undertake integrated research applicable to many areas. | ZHENG JuFeng CHENG Kun PAN GenXing Pete SMITH LI LianQing ZHANG XuHui ZHENG JinWei HAN XiaoJun DU YanLing | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,35: | 24 |

| 4 | Fermented soy whey induced changes on intestinal microbiota and metabolic influence in mice显示文摘Soy whey(SW)is generated as process waste while preparing soy protein isolates(SPI),and causing severe environmental pollution.Therefore,its value-added utilization is of prime importance for transforming and upgrading traditional industry.This study aims to utilize SW as a substrate for the growth of probiotics and produce a SW based synbiotics.By a series of trials,the effect of the dietary supplementation with this fermented SW(FSW)was analyzed on ICR mice's body weight,metabolites,and intestinal microbiota in 4 weeks.The results showed that,when SW was concentrated 15 times,the count of viable Lactobacillus casei reached 3.4×10^(9) CFU/mL by liquid fermentation method,which was the highest viable cell count among all test strains.In this FSW,the protein,amino acid,total dietary fibre,soluble dietary fibre,and oligosaccharide were 2.10%,1.63%,0.52%,0.51% and 0.79%,respectively.Compared to two control group,the total yields of the short chain fatty acids(SCFAs)were significantly improved(75%-125% at average),while the SCFAs structure was also significantly changed(especially acetic acid and butyrate)in the faeces of mice fed FSW.Meanwhile,FSW dietary addition was associated with the diversity and richness of the intestinal microbiota.Obviously,with mice's body weight loss,Firmicutes/Bacteroides ratio reduced accordingly(<1.21),and the abundance of Akkermansia muciniphila was significantly increased(the maximum amount was about 0.013%).In summary,our results indicated that the dietary supplementation of FSW affected mice's intestinal microbiota and metabolism and improved their health profile. | Wei Han Xuhui Zhuang Qian Liu Bo Sun Haijiang Miao Xiaolin Zhang | 2022 | Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,1: | 2 |

| 7 | Miocene Crustal Anatexis of Paleozoic Orthogneiss in the Zhada Area,Western Himalaya显示文摘Granitic gneiss(orthogneiss)and Himalayan leucogranite are widely distributed in the Himalayan orogen,but whether or not the granitic gneiss made a contribution to the Himalayan leucogranite remains unclear.In this study,we present the petrological,geochronological and geochemical results for orthogneisses and leucogranites from the Zhada area,Western Himalayas.Zhada orthogneiss is composed mainly of quartz,plagioclase,K-feldspar,biotite and muscovite,with accessory zircon and apatite.Orthogneiss zircon cathodoluminescence(CL)images show that most grains contain a core with oscillatory zoning,which indicates an igneous origin.Sensitive high-resolution ion microprobe(SHRIMP)U-Pb dating of the zircon cores in the orthogneiss shows a weighted ^(206)Pb/^(238)U age of 515±4 Ma(early Paleozoic),with sponge-like zircon rims of 17.9±0.5 Ma(Miocene).Zhada leucogranite shows^(206)Pb/^(238)U ages ranging from 19.0±0.4 Ma to 12.4±0.2 Ma,the weighted average age being 16.2±0.4 Ma.The leucogranites have a low Ca content(<1 wt%),FeOt content(<1 wt%),Rb content(67.0-402 ppm),Sr content(<56.6 ppm),Ba content(3.35-238 ppm)and Rb/Sr ratio(0.5-14.7),which are similar to the geochemical characteristics of the Himalayan leucogranite derived from muscovite dehydration partial melting of metasediments and representative of most Himalayan leucogranites.The highly variable Na_(2)O+K_(2)O(4.33 wt%-9.13 wt%),Al_(2)O_(3)(8.44 wt%-13.51 wt%),ΣREE(40.2-191.0 ppm),Rb(67.0-402 ppm)and Nb(8.23-26.4 ppm)contents,^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr(t)ratios(0.7445-0.8605)andεNd(t)values(−3.6 to−8.2)indicate that the leucogranite is derived from a heterogenetic source.The nonradiogenic Nd isotope values of the studied Zhada leucogranite and orthogneiss range from−8.2 to−3.6 and from−8.7 to−4.1,respectively.Therefore,the general mixing equation was used to perform the Sr and Nd isotope mixing calculations.The results indicate that the heterogenetic source was the Tethyan Himalayan Sequence(THS)/Higher Himalayan Crystalline(HHC)metasediments and Zhada orthogneiss.The Zhada area experienced crustal anatexis during the Miocene and the heterogenetic source of the orthogneiss and metasediment may have experienced crustal anatexis controlled by muscovite dehydration.The Zhada leucogranite inherited not only the geochemical characteristics of the Himalayan metasediment(muscovite dehydration melting),but also the trace elements and Sr-Nd isotopic characteristics of the Zhada orthogneiss.These results indicate that the Paleozoic Zhada orthogneiss was involved in crustal anatexis at 17.9±0.5 Ma(Miocene)and that the muscovite dehydration of the metasediments in the heterogenetic source produced fluid,which may have caused the orthogneiss solidus lines to decline,triggering a partial melting of the Zhada orthogneiss.It is therefore proposed that Himalayan leucogranite is a crust-derived granite rather than a S-type granite,as previously hypothesized. | CHEN Han HU Guyue ZENG Lingsen YU Xuhui LI Yike | 2022 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2022,96,3: | 1 |

| 9 | Denatured proteins show new vitality:Green synthesis of germanium oxide hollow microspheres with versatile functions by denaturing proteins around bubbles显示文摘The hollow structure has long attracted great attention because of its excellent properties.However,this special structure is usually synthesized through some complex approaches.Herein,we discovered that denatured bovine serum albumin(BSA)can trigger unusual biomineralization for the simple,green and shape-controllable synthesis of germanium oxide(GeOx)hollow microsphere(HMS).At high temperature(60℃),BSA was denatured,and a compact BSA layer was formed around the H2 bubbles.The denatured BSA layer was stable and suitable for anchoring and growing GeOx.By simply changing the BSA concentration and temperature,various morphologies of GeOx could be obtained.Due to the denatured protein skeletons and microenvironment-regulated collapse,GeOx HMS showed great potential for intelligently responsive pesticide delivery in the insect gut,showing superiority over traditional delivery systems,which early release pesticides in the mouth and stomach.Inspired by its large specific surface area,excellent biocompatibility,modifiable functional groups,and high electrocatalytic activity,GeOx HMS was also applied to versatile sensors for H_(2)O_(2) assays at physiological pH and rapid coronavirus COVID-19 detection.This work not only provides some evidence for understanding proteins in depth but also paves a new avenue for the biomineralization-inspired synthesis of hollow structures with versatile functions. | Yanfang Zhao Xin Liang Daoyuan Chen Xuhui Bian Wanjian Liu Lei Han | 2023 | Aggregate2023,4,1: | 0 |
| 10 | Investigation on the Novel High-performance Copper/Graphene Composite Conductor for High Power Density Motor显示文摘High-performance Cu/Graphene composite wire synergistically strengthened by nano Cr_(3)C_(2) phase was directly synthesized via hot press sintering followed by severe cold plastic deformation, using liquid paraffin and CuCr alloy powder as the raw materials. Since graphene is in situ formed under the catalysis of copper powder during the sintering process, the problem that graphene is easy to agglomerate and difficult to disperse uniformly in the copper matrix has been solved. The nano Cr_(3)C_(2)-particles nailed at the interface favor to improve the interface bonding. The Cu/Graphene composite possesses high electrical conductivity, hardness, and plasticity. The composite wire exhibits high electrical conductivity of 96.93% IACS, great tensile strength of 488MPa, and excellent resistance to softening. Even after annealing at 400℃ for 1 h, the tensile strength can still reach 268 MPa with a conductivity of about 99.14% IACS.The wire's temperature coefficient of resistance(TCR) is largely reduced to 0.0035/℃ due to the complex structure,which leads the wire to present low resistivity at higher temperatures. | 14 | Elevated CO_(2) increases soil redox potential by promoting root radial oxygen loss in paddy field显示文摘Soil redox potential(Eh)plays an important role in the biogeochemical cycling of soil nutrients.Whereas its effect soil process and nutrients'availability under elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentration and warming has seldom been investigated.Thus,in this study,a field experiment was used to elucidate the effect of elevated CO_(2) concentration and warming on soil Eh,redox-sensitive elements and root radial oxygen loss(ROL).We hypothesized elevated CO_(2) and warming could alter soil Eh by promoting or inhibiting ROL.We found that soil Eh in the rhizosphere was significantly higher than that of non-rhizosphere.Elevated CO_(2) enhanced soil Eh by 11.5%,which corresponded to a significant decrease in soil Fe^(2+)and Mn^(2+)concentration.Under elevated CO_(2),the concentration of Fe^(2+)and Mn^(2+)decreased by 14.7%and 13.7%,respectively.We also found that elevated CO_(2) altered rice root aerenchyma structure and promoted rice root ROL.Under elevated CO_(2),rice root ROL increased by 79.5%and 112.2%for Yangdao 6 and Changyou 5,respectively.Warming had no effect on soil Eh and rice root ROL.While warming increased the concentration of Mn^(2+)and SO_(4)^(2-)by 4.9%and 19.3%,respectively.There was a significant interaction between elevated CO_(2) and warming on Fe^(2+)and Mn^(2+).Under elevated CO_(2),warming had no effect on the concentration of Fe^(2+)but decreased Mn^(2+)concentration significantly.Our study demonstrated that elevated atmospheric CO_(2) in the future could increase soil Eh by promoting rice root ROL,which will alter some soil nutrients'availability,such as Fe^(2+)and Mn^(2+). | Jie Li Han Zhang Wenyi Xie Cheng Liu Xiaoyu Liu Xuhui Zhang Lianqing Li Genxing Pan | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,2: | 0 |
| 15 | The View of Micropropulsion Technology for China’s Advanced Small Platforms in Deep Space显示文摘In this paper,micropropulsion systems are analyzed in conjunction with the various mission requirements of China’s deep space exploration.As a great challenge facing the world,deep space exploration can be enabled only in a few countries with a success rate of around 50%.With the advancement of spacecraft and scientific instruments,it is now feasible to build small and low-cost spacecraft for a variety of deep space missions.As spacecraft become smaller,there is a need for proper micropropulsion systems.Examples of propulsion system selections for deep space exploration are discussed with a focus on products developed by Beijing Institute of Control Engineering(BICE).The requirements for propulsion systems are different in lunar/interplanetary exploration and gravitational wave detection.Chemical propulsion is selected for fast orbit transfer and electric propulsion for increasing scientific payloads.Cold gas propulsion and microelectric propulsion are good choices for space-based gravitational wave detection due to the capability of variable thrust output at the micro-Newton level.The paper also introduces the sub-1-U micropropulsion modules developed by BICE with satisfactory performance in flight tests,which are promising propulsion systems for small deep space platforms.A small probe with an electric sail propulsion system has been proposed for the future solar system boundary exploration of China.The electric sail serves as not only a propellant-free thruster but also a detector probing the properties of the space medium. | Yanming Wei Hao Yan Xuhui Liu Yang Yu Jinyue Geng Tao Chen Tuoqu Fu Gaoshi Su Yu Hu Daoman Han | 2022 | Space(Science & Technology)2022,,1: | 0 |
