| 2 | Does Helicobacter pylori infection play a role in iron deficiency anemia? | 3 | Effectiveness of Different Waist Circumference Cut-off Values in Predicting Metabolic Syndrome Prevalence and Risk Factors in Adults in China显示文摘Objective To study the effectiveness of waist circumference cut-off values in predicting the prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MetS) and risk factors in adults in China. Methods A cross-sectional survey was condcuted in 14 provinces(autonomous region, municipality) in China. A total of 47 325 adults aged ≥20 years were selected by multistage stratified sampling, and questionnaire survey and physical and clinical examination were conducted among them. MetS was defined according to the International Diabetes Federation(IDF) criteria and modified IDF criteria.Results The age-standardized prevalence of MetS was 24.2%(22.1% in men and 25.8% in women) and 19.5%(22.1% in men and 18.0% in women) according to the IDF criteria and modified IDF criteria respectively. The age-standardized prevalence of pre-MetS was 8.1%(8.6% in men and 7.8% in women) according to the modified IDF criteria. The prevalence of MetS was higher in urban residents than rural residents and in northern China residents than in southern China residents. The prevalence of central obesity was about 30% in both men and women according to the ethnicity-specific cut-off values of waist circumference for central obesity(90 cm for men and 85 cm for women). Multivariate regression analysis revealed no significant difference in risk factors between the two MetS definitions. | 8 | Carcinogenic potential of duodenal reflux juice from patients with long-standing postgastrectomy显示文摘AIM To determine, whether study on thecarcinogenic potential of reflux juice frompatients with remote gastrectomy could clarifythe inherent relationship between duodenalreflux and gastric stump cancer.METHODS A total of 37 reflux juice samples(13 Billroth T, 24 Billroth Ⅱ ) were employed inthe present study. A two- stage transformationassay using BALB/c 3T3 cells was carried out totest the initiating or promoting activity of thesesamples.RESULTS Two of 18 (11.1%) reflux samplesexerted initiating activities, whereas 9/19(47.4%) samples enhanced the MNNG-initiafingcell transformation, suggesting the duodenalreflux juice might more frequently possess thetumor-promoter activity (P = 0. 029). In addition,there was no difference in initiating activities ofthe samples irrespective of surgical procedures(P=0.488), while Billroth Ⅱ samples exhibitedstronger tumor-promoter activity than Billroth Ⅰsamples (P = 0.027). Furthermore, the promoteractivities were well correlated with thehistological changes of the stomas (rs = 0.625,P = 0.004), but neither their cytotoxicities norinitiating activities had this correlation( Probabilities were 0.523 and 0.085,respectively).CONCLUSION The duodenal reflux juice frompatients with remote postgastrectomy did havecarcinogenic potential, and suggested thattumor-promoting activity should principallyaccount for the high incidence of gastric cancerin gastrectomy patients. | 9 | OsPIN1a Gene Participates in Regulating Negative Phototropism of Rice Roots显示文摘The complete open reading frame of OsPIN1a was amplified through reverse transcriptase- polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) based on the sequence deposited in GenBank to explore the relationship between the auxin efflux protein OsPIN1a and the negative phototropism of rice roots. Sequencing results showed that the GC content of OsPIN1a was 65.49%. The fusion expression vector pCAMBIA-1301-OsPIN1a::GFP containing the OsPIN1a gene and a coding green fluorescent protein(gfp) gene was constructed. The fusion vector was transferred into onion epidermal cells by Agrobacterium tumefaciens transformation. The transient expression of OsPIN1a-GFP was mainly located in the nucleus and cell membrane. Moreover, the transgenic plants were obtained by Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation. Molecular detection performed by using PCR and β-glucuronidase staining showed that the target construct was integrated into the genome of rice. The negative phototropic curvatures of the transgenic rice roots were higher than those of the wild type. Similarly, the expression levels of OsPIN1a in the transgenic plants were considerably higher than those in the wild-type plants. | 12 | Changes in Activities of Glutamine Synthetase during Grain Filling and Their Relation to Rice Quality显示文摘Four japonica rice varieties differed in cooking and eating qualities were used in a pot experiment to study the relationship between the activities of glutamine synthetase during grain filling and rice quality. The activities of glutamine synthetase gradually increased and then declined as a single peak curve in the course of grain filling. The 15th day after heading was a turning point, before which the enzymatic activities in the inferior rice varieties with high protein content were higher than those in the superior rice varietie with low protein content, and after which it was converse. The activity of glutamine synthetase in grain was correlated with the taste meter value, peak viscosity and breakdown negatively at the early stage of grain filling whereas positively at the middle and late stages. Moreover, it was correlated with the protein content of rice grain and setback positively at the early stage and negatively at the middle and late stages. The correlation degree varied with the course of grain filling. | 13 | Alterations of brain local functional connectivity in amnestic mild cognitive impairment显示文摘Background:Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging studies using a regional homogeneity(ReHo)method have reported that amnestic mild cognitive impairment(aMCI)was associated with abnormalities in local functional connectivity.However,their results were not conclusive.Methods:Seed-based d Mapping was used to conduct a coordinate-based meta-analysis to identify consistent ReHo alterations in aMCI.Results:We identified 10 studies with 11 datasets suitable for inclusion,including 378 patients with aMCI and 435 healthy controls.This meta-analysis identified significant ReHo alterations in patients with aMCI relative to healthy controls,mainly within the default mode network(DMN)(bilateral posterior cingulate cortex[PCC],right angular gyrus,bilateral middle temporal gyri,and left parahippocampal gyrus/hippocampus),executive control network(right superior parietal lobule and dorsolateral prefrontal cortex),visual network(right lingual gyrus and left middle occipital gyrus),and sensorimotor network(right paracentral lobule/supplementary motor area,right postcentral gyrus and left posterior insula).Significant heterogeneity of ReHo alterations in the bilateral PCC,left parahippocampal gyrus/hippocampus,and right superior parietal lobule/angular gyrus was observed.Exploratory meta-regression analyses indicated that general cognitive function,gender distribution,age,and education level partially contributed to this heterogeneity.Conclusions:This study provides provisional evidence that aMCI is associated with abnormal ReHo within the DMN,executive control network,visual network,and sensorimotor network.These local functional connectivity alterations suggest coexistence of functional deficits and compensation in these networks.These findings contribute to the modeling of brain functional connectomes and to a better understanding of the neural substrates of aMCI.Confounding factors merit much attention and warrant future investigations. | Dan Zheng Wei Xia Zhong Quan Yi Pan Wen Zhao Jian Guo Zhong Hai Cun Shi Hua Liang Li Zhen Yu Dai Ping Lei Pan | 2018 | Translational Neurodegeneration2018，7，1： | 5 |
| 14 | Ambient volatile organic compounds at a receptor site in the Pearl River Delta region:Variations,source apportionment and effects on ozone formation显示文摘We present the continuously measurements of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)at a receptor site(Wan Qing Sha,WQS)in the Pearl River Delta(PRD)region from September to November of 2017.The average mixing ratios of total VOCs(TVOCs)was 36.3±27.9 ppbv with the dominant contribution from alkanes(55.5%),followed by aromatics(33.3%).The diurnal variation of TVOCs showed a strong photochemical consumption during daytime,resulting in the formation of ozone(O_(3)).Five VOC sources were resolved by the positive matrix factorization(PMF)model,including solvent usage(28.6%),liquid petroleum gas(LPG)usage(24.4%),vehicle exhaust(21.0%),industrial emissions(13.2%)and gasoline evaporation(12.9%).The regional transport air masses from the upwind cities of south China can result in the elevated concentrations of TVOCs.Low ratios of TVOCs/NO_(x)(1.53±0.88)suggested that the O_(3) formation regime at WQS site was VOC-limited,which also confirmed by a photochemical box model with the master chemical mechanism(PBM-MCM).Furthermore,the observation on high-O_(3) episode days revealed that frequent O_(3) outbreaks at WQS were mainly caused by the regional transport of anthropogenic VOCs especially for aromatics and the subsequent photochemical reactions.This study provides valuable information for policymakers to propose the effective control strategies on photochemical pollution in a regional perspective. | Yao Meng Junwei Song Lewei Zeng Yingyi Zhang Yan Zhao Xufei Liu Hai Guo Liuju Zhong Yubo Ou Yan Zhou Tao Zhang Dingli Yue Senchao Lai | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022，34，1： | 5 |

| 17 | Transition prediction and sensitivity analysis for a natural laminar flow wing glove flight experiment显示文摘Natural laminar flow technology can significantly reduce aircraft aerodynamic drag and has excellent technical appeal for transport aircraft development with high aerodynamic efficiency.Accurately and efficiently predicting the laminar-to-turbulent transition and revealing the maintenance mechanism of laminar flow in a transport aircraft’s flight environment are significant for developing natural laminar flow wings.In this research,we carry out natural laminar flow flight experiments with different Reynolds numbers and angles of attack.The critical N-factor is calibrated as 9.0 using flight experimental data and linear stability theory from a statistical perspective,which makes sure that the relative error of transition location is within 5%.We then implement a simplified e^(N) transition prediction method with a similar accuracy compared with linear stability theory.We compute the sensitivity information for the simplified eN method with an adjointbased method,using the automatic differentiation technique(ADjoint).The impact of Reynolds numbers and pressure distributions on TS waves is analyzed using the sensitivity information.Through the sensitivity analysis,we find that:favorable pressure gradients not only suppress the development of TS waves but also decrease their sensitivity to Reynolds numbers;there exist three special regions which are very sensitive to the pressure distribution,and the sensitivity decreases as the local favorable pressure gradient increases.The proposed sensitivity analysis method enables robust natural laminar flow wings design. | Tihao YANG Hai ZHONG Yifu CHEN Yayun SHI Junqiang BAI Feifei QIN | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021，34，8： | 5 |

| 19 | Plug-and-play dual-phase-modulated continuous-variable quantum key distribution with photon subtraction显示文摘Plug-and-play dual-phase-modulated continuous-variable quantum key distribution (CVQKD) protocol can effectively solve the security loopholes associated with transmitting local oscillator (LO). However, this protocol has larger excess noise compared with one-way Gaussian-modulated coherent-states scheme, which limits the maximal transmission distance to a certain degree. In this paper, we show a reliable solution for this problem by employing non-Gaussian operation, especially, photon subtraction operation, which provides a way to improve the performance of plug-and-play dual-phase-modulated CVQKD protocol. The photon subtraction operation shows experimental feasibility in the plug-andplay configuration since it can be implemented under current technology. Security results indicate that the photon subtraction operation can evidently enhance the maximal transmission distance of the plug-and-play dual-phase-modulated CVQKD protocol, which effectively makes up the drawback of the original one.
