1Design of a Passive Gait‑based Ankle‑foot Exoskeleton with Self‑adaptive Capability显示文摘Propulsion during push-off is the key to realizing human locomotion.Humans have evolved a way of walking with high energy utilization,but it can be further improved.Drawing inspiration from the muscle-tendon unit,a passive spring-actuated ankle-foot exoskeleton is designed to assist with human walking and to lengthen walking duration by mechanically enhancing walking efficiency.Detection of the gait events is realized using a smart clutch,which is designed to detect the contact states between the shoe sole and the ground,and automatically switch its working state.The engagement of a suspended spring behind the human calf muscles is hence controlled and is in synchrony with gait.The device is completely passive and contains no external power source.Energy is stored and returned passively using the clutch.In our walking trials,the soleus electromyography activity is reduced by as much as 72.2%when the proposed ankle-foot exoskeleton is worn on the human body.The influence of the exoskeleton on walking habits is also studied.The results show the potential use of the exoskeleton in humans’daily life.Xiangyang Wang Sheng Guo Bojian Qu Majun Song Haibo Qu 2020Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2020,33,3:5
2Biodegradation behavior of magnesium and ZK60 alloy in artificial urine and rat models显示文摘In this work, the biodegradable and histocompatibility properties of pure Mg and ZK60 alloy wereinvestigated as new temporary implants for urinary applications. The corrosion mechanism in artificialurine was proposed using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and potentiodynamic polarizationtests. The corrosion potential of pure magnesium and ZK60 alloy were -1820 and -1561 mV, respectively,and the corrosion current densities were 59.66 ± 6.41 and 41.94 ± 0.53 μA cm^-2, respectively. Thein vitro degradation rates for pure Mg and ZK60 alloy in artificial urine were 0.382 and 1.023 mm/y,respectively, determined from immersion tests. The ZK60 alloy degraded faster than the pure Mg in bothartificial urine and in rat bladders (the implants of both samples are ø 3 mm × 5 mm). Histocompatibilityevaluations showed good histocompatibility for the pure Mg and ZK60 alloy during the 3 weeks postimplantationin rat bladders, and no harm was observed in the bladder, liver and kidney tissues. 3Estimation of tropical cyclone parameters and wind fields from SAR images显示文摘The traditional method of Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR)wind field retrieval is based on an empirical relation between the near surface winds and the normalized radar backscatter cross section to estimate wind speeds,where this relation is called the geophysical model function(GMF).However,the accuracy rapidly decreases due to the impact of rainfall on the measurement of SAR and the saturation of backscattered intensity under the condition of tropical cyclone.Because of no available instrument synchronously monitoring rain rate on the satellite platform of SAR,we have to derive the precipitation of the SAR observation time from non-simultaneous passive microwave observations of rain in combination with geostationary IR images,and then use the model of rain correction to remove the impact of rain on SAR wind field measurements.For the saturation of radar backscatter cross section in high wind speed conditions,we develop an approach to estimate tropical cyclone parameters and wind fields based on the improved Holland model and the SAR image features of tropical cyclone.To retrieve the low-to-moderate wind speed,the wind direction of tropical cyclone is estimated from the SAR image using wavelet analysis.And then the maximum wind speed and the central pressure of tropical cyclone are calculated by a least square minimization of the difference between the improved Holland model and the low-to-moderate wind speed retrieved from SAR.In addition,wind fields are estimated from the improved Holland model using the above-mentioned parameters of tropical cyclone as input.To evaluate the accuracy of our approach,the SAR images of typhoon Aere,typhoon Khanun,and hurricane Ophelia are used to estimate tropical cyclone parameters and wind fields,which are compared with the best track data and reanalyzed wind fields of the Joint Typhoon Warning Center(JTWC)and the Hurricane Research Division(HRD).The results indicate that the tropical cyclone center,maximum wind speed,and central pressure are generally consistent with the best track data,and wind fields agree well with reanalyzed data from HRD.ZHOU Xuan YANG XiaoFeng LI ZiWei YU Yang BI HaiBo MA Sheng LI XiaoFeng 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,11:4
4Theory of Degrees of Freedom for Parallel Mechanisms with Three Spherical Joints and Its Applications显示文摘The analysis of degrees of freedom(DOF) of a moving platform is the fundamental problem in kinematics of parallel mechanism. However, many problems should be considered to correctly perform the DOF calculation by using the traditional DOF criterion, and it is difficult to find a DOF criterion suitable for all kinds of mechanisms. A rule that can be used to determine the position and orientation of the moving platform is presented. Based on the proposed rule, a new form of DOF criterion is proposed, which is suitable for a class of parallel mechanisms with three spherical joints attached to the moving platform. The basic types of generalized limb structures are given based on the possible dimension of achieving the center of spherical joint attached to the moving platform, and the general steps of analyzing the DOF are presented. 5Engineering defects and adjusting electronic structure on S doped MoO2 nanosheets toward highly active hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘The electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is one of the most promising ways for low-cost hydrogen production in the future.In this work,hetero S atoms were introduced into the MoO2 to enhance the catalytic activity by simultaneously adjusting electron structure,engineering lattice defect,and increasing oxygen vacancies.And the S doped MoO2 nanosheets with proper S doping amount show the enhanced performance for HER.The optimized catalyst shows a small onset overpotential as low as 120 mV,a low overpotential of 176 mV at the current density of 10 mA/cm^2 which is decreased 166 mV compared to that of the pristine MoO2 nanosheets,a low Tafel slope of 57 mV/decade,and a high turnover frequency of 0.13 H2/s per active site at 150 mV.This finding proposes an effective strategy to prepare nonprecious metal oxide catalyst for enhancing HER performance by rationally doping hetero atoms.Shuo Geng Yequn Liu Yong Sheng Yu Weiwei Yang Haibo Li 2020Nano Research2020,13,1:3
6Rhodojaponin Ⅵ indirectly targets Cav2.2 channels via N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive fusion protein to alleviate neuropathic pain显示文摘Neuropathic pain is a chronic disease that severely afflicts the life and emotional status of patients,but currently available treatments are often ineffective.Novel therapeutic targets for the alleviation of neuropathic pain are urgently needed.Rhodojaponin Ⅵ,a grayanotoxin from Rhododendron molle,showed remarkable antinociceptive efficacy in models of neuropathic pain,but its biotargets and mechanisms are unknown.Given the reversible action of rhodojaponin Ⅵ and the narrow range over which its structure can be modified,we perforwmed thermal proteome profiling of the rat dorsal root ganglion to determine the protein target of rhodojaponin Ⅵ.N-Ethylmaleimide-sensitive fusion(NSF) was confirmed as the key target of rhodojaponin Ⅵ through biological and biophysical experiments.Functional validation showed for the first time that NSF facilitated trafficking of the Cav2.2 channel to induce an increase in Ca2+current intensity,whereas rhodojaponin Ⅵ reversed the effects of NSF.In conclusion,rhodojaponin Ⅵ represents a unique class of analgesic natural products targeting Cav2.2 channels via NSF.Keliang Chen Tao Wang Yong Li Jun Wu Cheng-Xiao Zhao Sheng Liu Fengrun Sun Yehong Fang Jiahuan Hu Jinping Hu Chong-Jing Zhang Haibo Yu Chao Ma Shi-Shan Yu 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,3:2

10Design and Analysis of a Novel Shoulder Exoskeleton Based on a Parallel Mechanism显示文摘Power-assisted upper-limb exoskeletons are primarily used to improve the handling efficiency and load capacity.However,kinematic mismatch between the kinematics and biological joints is a major problem in most existing exoskeletons,because it reduces the boosting effect and causes pain and long-term joint damage in humans.In this study,a shoulder augmentation exoskeleton was designed based on a parallel mechanism that solves the shoulder dislocation problem using the upper arm as a passive limb.Consequently,the human–machine synergy and wearability of the exoskeleton system were improved without increasing the volume and weight of the system.A parallel mechanism was used as the structural body of the shoulder joint exoskeleton,and its workspace,dexterity,and stiffness were analyzed.Additionally,an ergonomic model was developed using the principle of virtual work,and a case analysis was performed considering the lifting of heavy objects.The results show that the upper arm reduces the driving force requirement in coordinated motion,enhances the load capacity of the system,and achieves excellent assistance.Lianzheng Niu Sheng Guo Majun Song Yifan Wu Haibo Qu 2023Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2023,36,2:1

15Transumbilical laparoendoscopic single-site surgery of simple nephrectomy of nonfunctioning kidney: a two-year experience显示文摘Background: Laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (LESS) may serve as a potential alternative to conventional laparoscopy and is developing quickly, but still in its infancy. The study is to present our two-year experience in transumbilical LESS simple nephrectomy (LESS-SN) for non-functioning kidney, in an effort to evaluate its feasibility, clinical outcomes and potential advantages. Methods: From December 2008 to December 2010, a total of 11 patients with body mass index (BMI) ≤30 underwent transumbilical TriPort TM LESS-SN by a single experienced urologist at our institution. The indications for nephrectomy included nonfunctioning kidney associated with ureteropelvic junctionstricture (n=1), ureteral calculi (n=6), tuberculosis (n=3), and ureteral stricture (n=1). Patient demographics, perioperative and follow-up data were prospectively collected and analyzed. Results: Ten procedures were successfully completed with one patient converted to open surgery due to uncontrollable bleeding. The mean operative time was 189.2 (ranging 100~320 min) with an estimated blood loss of 204.5 (ranging 50-1 000 ml). There were two complications of bleeding (1- intra-, 1- post-). The mean hospitalization after surgery was 7.9 d (ranging 4-17 d). With a regular follow-up of 1, 6, 12, and 24 months after surgery, all patients remained symptom-free with an intra-umbilical scar. Conclusion: Transumbilical LESS simple nephrectomy for nonfunctioning kidney can be accomplished with favorable surgical outcomes and a superiority of cosmesis. 18Design method and verification of a hybrid prosthetic mechanism with energy-damper clutchable device for transfemoral amputees显示文摘Transfemoral amputees(TAs)have difficulty in mobility during walking,such as restricted movement of lower extremity and body instability,yet few transfemoral prostheses have explored human-like multiple motion characteristics by simple structures to fit the kinesiology,biomechanics,and stability of human lower extremity.In this work,the configurations of transfemoral prosthetic mechanism are synthesized in terms of human lower-extremity kinesiology.A hybrid transfemoral prosthetic(HTP)mechanism with multigait functions is proposed to recover the gait functions of TAs.The kinematic and mechanical performances of the designed parallel mechanism are analyzed to verify their feasibility in transfemoral prosthetic mechanism.Inspired by motion-energy coupling relationship of the knee,a wearable energy-damper clutched device that can provide energy in knee stance flexion to facilitate the leg off from the ground and can impede the leg’s swing velocity for the next stance phase is proposed.Its co-operation with the springs in the prismatic pairs enables the prosthetic mechanism to have the energy recycling ability under the gait rhythm of the knee joint.Results demonstrate that the designed HTP mechanism can replace the motion functions of the knee and ankle to realize its multimode gait and effectively decrease the peak power of actuators from 94.74 to 137.05 W while maintaining a good mechanical adaptive stability.Majun SONG Sheng GUO Anderson S.OLIVEIRA Xiangyang WANG Haibo QU 2021Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering2021,16,4:0
