1Surface runoff processes and sustainable utilization of water resources in Manas River Basin, Xinjiang, China显示文摘Water is the important resource to guarantee the existence and development of oases in arid areas. To improve the utilization efficiency of water resources in Manas River Basin, this paper investigated the trends and periods of runoff based on the runoff and climate data for the past 50 years. Subsequently, with the socioeconomic and water resources data, we studied a comprehensive evaluation on the water security in this area. The results indicated that the stream flows in the three hydrological stations of Hongshanzui, Kensiwat and Bajiahu have significantly increased and undergone abrupt changes, with periods of 18 and 20 years. According to assessment, water security in the Manas River Basin was at an unsafe level in 2008. In criterion layer, the ecological security index and the index of supply-demand situation are both at the relatively secure level; the quantity index and socioeconomic index of water resources are at the unsafe level and basic security level, respectively. 3GABAergic Abnormalities Associated with Sensorimotor Corticostriatal Community Structural Deficits in ErbB4 Knockout Mice and First-Episode Treatment-Naive Patients with Schizophrenia显示文摘The current study was designed to explore how disruption of specific molecular circuits in the cerebral cortex may cause sensorimotor cortico-striatal community structure deficits in both a mouse model and patients with schizophrenia.We used prepulse inhibition(PPI)and brain structural and diffusion MRI scans in 23 mice with conditional ErbB4 knockout in parvalbumin interneurons and 27 matched controls.Quantitative real-time PCR was used to assess the differential levels of GABA-related transcripts in brain regions.Concurrently,we measured structural and diffusion MRI and the cumulative contribution of risk alleles in the GABA pathway genes in firstepisode treatment-naı¨ve schizophrenic patients(n=117)and in age-and sex-matched healthy controls(n=86).We present the first evidence of gray and white matter impairment of right sensorimotor cortico-striatal networks and reproduced the sensorimotor gating deficit in a mouse model of schizophrenia.Significant correlations between gray matter volumes(GMVs)in the somatosensory cortex and PPI as well as glutamate decarboxylase 1 mRNA expression were found in controls but not in knockout mice.Furthermore,these findings were confirmed in a human sample in which we found significantly decreased gray and white matter in sensorimotor cortico-striatal networks in schizophrenic patients.The psychiatric risk alleles of the GABA pathway also displayed a significant negative correlation with the GMVs of the somatosensory cortex in patients.Our study identified that ErbB4 ablation in parvalbumin interneurons induced GABAergic dysregulation,providing valuable mechanistic insights into the sensorimotor cortico-striatal community structure deficits associated with schizophrenia.Chengcheng Zhang Peiyan Ni Yikang Liu Yang Tian Jinxue Wei Bo Xiang Liansheng Zhao Xiaojing Li Xiaohong Ma Wei Deng Wanjun Guo Rongjun Ni Yamin Zhang Qiang Wang Hailiang Huang Nanyin Zhang Tao Li 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,2:9
4NiMo/Al_2O_3 catalyst containing nano-sized zeolite Y for deep hydrodesulfurization and hydrodenitrogenation of diesel显示文摘Two mixed-matrix NiMo/Al2O3 catalysts containing nano-and micro-sized zeolite Y have been prepared to explore the size effect of zeolite Y particle on the hydrodesulfurization(HDS)and hydrodenitrogenation(HDN)activities of fluid catalytic cracking(FCC)diesel.They were characterized by SEM,BET,XRD,H2-TPR,NH3-TPD and HRTEM.The results show that the catalyst containing nano-sized zeolite Y possesses larger average pore diameter,higher pore volume,weaker and lesser acid sites,more easily reducible metal phases,shorter MoS2 slabs and more slab layers than the catalyst containing micro-sized zeolite Y.The catalysts were also evaluated with a high-pressure fixed-bed reactor using real FCC diesel as feed.The results display that the catalyst containing nano-sized zeolite Y bears higher HDS and HDN activities and exhibits higher relative rate constant for the removal of total sulfur or nitrogen than the one containing micro-sized zeolite.Hailiang Yin Tongna Zhou Yunqi Liu Yongming Chai Chenguang Liu 2011Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2011,20,4:8
5Iron and lead ion adsorption by microbial flocculants in synthetic wastewater and their related carbonate formation显示文摘Although microbial treatments of heavy metal ions in wastewater have been studied, the removal of these metals through incorporation into carbonate minerals has rarely been reported. To investigate the removal of Fe3+and Pb2+, two representative metals in wastewater, through the precipitation of carbonate minerals by a microbial flocculant(MBF) produced by Bacillus mucilaginosus. MBF was added to synthetic wastewater containing diferent Fe3+and Pb2+concentrations, and the extent of flocculation was analyzed. CO2 was bubbled into the mixture of MBF and Fe3+/Pb2+to initiate the reaction. The solid substrates were analyzed via X-ray difraction, transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The results showed that the removal efciency decreased and the MBF adsorption capacity for metals increased with increasing heavy metal concentration. In the system containing MBF, metals(Fe3+ and Pb2+), and CO2, the concentrated metals adsorbed onto the MBF combined with the dissolved CO2, resulting in oversaturation of metal carbonate minerals to form iron carbonate and lead carbonates. 7A 12-kyr record of microbial branched and isoprenoid tetraether index in Lake Qinghai,northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau:Implications for paleoclimate reconstruction显示文摘Branched and Isoprenoid Tetraether(BIT) index was considered as a proxy for terrestrial organic matter input in lake sediments, based on the assumption that branched glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers(b GDGTs) are mainly derived from terrestrial soils. However, mounting evidences have showed that the in situ production of b GDGTs is widespread in lakes, challenging BIT as a reliable terrestrial input proxy. Recently, BIT has been proven to be a reliable proxy for paleohydrology in a small crater lake(Lake Challa) in accordance with a different mechanism. However, the response of BIT to paleohydrology variation may differ for different lakes. In this study, we investigate the variations in the BIT index and the concentrations of its related GDGTs in a 12-ka sediment core from Lake Qinghai, in combination with our previous results for surface sediments. We find that variations in BIT strongly depend on the concentration of crenarchaeol in both surface and ancient sediments of this lake, whereas b GDGT concentration varies much less remarkably. Considering that crenarchaeol production is positively correlated with water depth in Lake Qinghai, water depth may exert negative control on the BIT index in this lake. This case is inconsistent with the positive relationship between BIT and lake levels or rainfall intensity reported for Lake Challa, suggesting that the response of BIT to local paleohydrology is site specific in lacustrine systems. 8Effects of Ti additive on HPHT diamond synthesis in Fe-Ni-C system显示文摘Diamond crystals with low nitrogen concentration were synthesized from the Fe-Ni-C system with Ti additive at high pressure and high temperature (HPHT) in a china-type cubic high pressure apparatus (CHPA). The synthesis pressure range was 4.8-5.2 GPa, and the temperature range was 1420-1600 K. The lowest synthesis pressure for diamond fell first and then rose with the increase of Ti additive. The color, shape, surface morphology and nitrogen impurity concentration of the synthesized diamond crystals were characterized using optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and micro Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry. The results show that the Ti additive has significant effects on color, growth rate, crystal shape, surface morphology and nitrogen impurity con- centration of the synthesized diamond crystals. The color of diamond crystals synthesized without Ti additive is yellow, while that with Ti additive becomes light and nearly colorless. The growth rate without Ti additive is higher than that with Ti additive. The crystal shapes of as-grown diamond crystals vary with the increase of Ti additive. The {111} crystal faces become dominant and some {311} crystal faces appear with the increase of Ti additive. 9Water takeoff performance calculation method for amphibious aircraft based on digital virtual flight显示文摘Owing to the strong coupling among the hydrodynamic forces,aerodynamic forces and motion of amphibious aircraft during the water takeoff process,the water takeoff performance is difficult to calculate accurately and quickly.Based on an analysis of the dynamics and kinematics characteristics of amphibious aircraft and the hydrodynamic theory of high-speed planing hulls,a suitable mathematical model is established for calculating the hydrodynamics of aircraft during water takeoff.A pilot model is designed to illustrate how pilots are affected by the lack of visual reference and the necessity to simultaneously control the pitch angle,flight velocity and other parameters during water takeoff.Combined with the aerodynamic model,engine thrust model and aircraft motion model,a digital virtual flight simulation model is developed for amphibious aircraft during water takeoff,and a calculation method for the water takeoff performance of amphibious aircraft is proposed based on digital virtual flight.Typical performance indicators,such as the liftoff time and liftoff distance,can be obtained via digital virtual flight calculations.A comparison of the measured flight test data and the calculation results shows that the calculation error is less than 10%,which verifies the correctness and accuracy of the proposed method.This method can be used for the preliminary evaluation of airworthiness compliance of amphibious aircraft design schemes,and the relevant calculation results can also provide a theoretical reference for the formulation of flight test plans for airworthiness certification.Lixin WANG Haipeng YIN Kun YANG Hailiang LIU Jianghui ZHU 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,12:5
10Selectivity regulation of CO2 electroreduction through contact interface engineering on superwetting Cu nanoarray electrodes显示文摘Electrocatalytic CO2 reduction is a promising way to mitigate the urgent energy and environmental issues, but how to increase the selectivity for desired product among multiple competi ng reaction pathways remains a bottle neck. Here, we demonstrate that engineering the gas-liquid-solid contact interface on the electrode surface could tailor the selectivity of CO2 reducti on and meanwhile suppress H2 production through regulated reacti on kin etics. Specifically, polytetrafl uoroethyle ne (PTFE) was utilized to modify a Cu nano array electrode as an example, which is able to cha nge the electrode surface from aerophobic to aerophilic state. The en riched nano-tunnels of the Cu nano array electrode can facilitate CO2 transportation and pin gaseous products on the electrode surface. The latter is believed to be the reason that boosts the Faradaic efficie ncy of liquid products by 67% and limits the H2 producti on to less than half of before. This in terface engin eeri ng strategy also lowered H2O (proton) affinity, therefore promoting CO and HCOOH production. 11A comprehensive census of lake microbial diversity on a global scale显示文摘Despite recent interest in microbial diversity and community structure of lakes across various spatial scales, a global biogeographic distribution pattern and its controlling factors have not been fully disclosed. Here, we compiled and analyzed 88,334,735 environmental 16S rRNA sequences from 431 lakes across a wide range of geographical distance and environmental conditions(in particular, salinity, 0–373.3 gL^–1). Our results showed that lake sediments inhabit significantly(ANOVA: P<0.001) more diverse microbial communities than lake waters. Non-metric dimensional scaling(NMDS) ordinations indicated that microbial community compositions differed distinctly among sample types(freshwater vs. saline, water vs. sediment) and geographic locations. Mantel and partial Mantel tests showed that microbial community composition in lake water was significantly(P=0.001) correlated with geographic distance, salinity, and pH. Statistical analyses based on neutral community and null models indicated that stochastic processes may play predominant roles in shaping the microbial biogeographic distribution patterns in the studied global lake waters. The dispersal-related stochasticity(e.g., homogenizing dispersal) exhibited a stronger influence on the distribution of microbial community in freshwater lakes than in saline lakes. 12ZmSRL5 is involved in drought tolerance by maintaining cuticular wax structure in maize显示文摘Cuticular wax is a natural barrier on terrestrial plant organs,which protects plants from damages caused by a variety of stresses.Here,we report the identification and functional characterization of a cuticular-wax-related gene,Zea mays L.SEMI-ROLLED LEAF 5(ZmSRL5).The loss-of-function mutant srl5,which was created by a 3,745 bp in-sertion in the first intron that led to the premature tran-script,exhibited abnormal wax crystal morphology and distribution,which,in turn,caused the pleiotropic pheno-types including increased chlorophyll leaching and water loss rate,decreased leaf temperature,sensitivity to drought,as well as semi-rolled mature leaves.However,total wax amounts showed no significant difference between wild type and semi-rolled leaf5(srl5)mutant.The phenotype of srl5 was confirmed through the generation of two allelic mutants using CRISPR/Cas9.ZmSRL5 encodes a CASPARIAN-STRIP-MEMBRANE-DOMAIN-LIKE(CASPL)protein located in plasma membrane,and highly expressed in developing leaves.Further analysis showed that the expressions of the most wax related genes were not affected or slightly al-tered in srl5.This study,thus,primarily uncovers that ZmSRL5 is required for the structure formation of the cu-ticular wax and could increase the drought tolerance by maintaining the proper cuticular wax structure in maize.Zhenyuan Pan Min Liu Hailiang Zhao Zengdong Tan Kun Liang Qin Sun Dianming Gong Haijun He Wenqi Zhou Fazhan Qiu 2020Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,12:5

14Nondestructive assessment of quality of Nanfeng mandarin fruit by a portable near infrared spectroscopy显示文摘A portable near infrared spectroscopy system was developed for assessing the quality of Nanfeng mandarin fruit.One hundred and fifty-three Nanfeng mandarin samples were used to measure the performance of the system.Several pretreatment methods were adopted to process the spectra.Then Support Vector Machine(SVM),Back Propagation Neural Network(BPNN)and Partial Least Square(PLS)were used to build models for soluble solids content(SSC),titratable acidity(TA),vitamin C and surface color.The best results were obtained by SVM.The correlation coefficient(R)and root mean square error of prediction(RMSEP)were(0.93,0.65°Brix),(0.66,0.09%),(0.81,2.7mg/100g)and(0.57,0.81)for SSC,TA,vitamin C and color,respectively.The results demonstrated that the portable near infrared spectroscopy was feasible for determining the Nanfeng mandarin quality nondestructively.Sun Xudong Zhang Hailiang Liu Yande 2009International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2009,2,1:3
15Novel NiMo Catalysts Supported on Sol-Gel Nanosized HY Zeolite-Alumina Composites for Hydrodesulfurization of Diesel显示文摘Composite materials(AZ-x) were prepared by mixing the nanosized HY zeolite and γ-Al_2 O_3 using the sol-gel mixing method and were employed as the support for NiMo catalysts(NiMo/AZ-x). These composites and catalysts were characterized by XRD, BET, TPD, TPR, HRTEM and FT-IR spectroscopy. Compared with the NiMo catalyst supported onγ-Al_2 O_3(NiMo/γ-Al_2 O_3), these NiMo/AZ-x catalysts show higher activity in the hydrodesulfurization(HDS) of FCC diesel,and the HDS activity increases with an increasing HY mass content in the composites, provided that the HY mass fraction does not exceed 20%. Compared with γ-Al_2 O_3, the introduction of nanosized HY zeolite can improve the porous structure of the composites,which can benefit the mass transfer of the reactant molecules. 18Synthesis of La-Modified Ultra Stable Zeolite L and Its Application to Catalytic Cracking Catalyst显示文摘A new type of zeolite La-USL (ultra stable zeolite L (zeolite USL) modified by La), which has superior activity, stability and selectivity in catalytic cracking of hydrocarbons and thus can be used as an active catalyst component, is reported in this paper. The zeolite L with relative crystallinity of above 90% was synthesized by the hydrothermal crystallization method under optimum conditions and characterized by means of XRD, NH3-TPD and isotherm adsorption techniques. The in-situ synthesized zeolite L with a SiO2/Al2O3 mole ratio of 5-6 was modified by cation ion exchange, hydrothermal dealumination and chemical modifications with La in order to prepare La-containing USL with a higher framework SiO2/Al2O3 mole ratio of 15-30. The modified zeolite La-USL was used as an active additive component of fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalyst and the resulting catalysts were evaluated by microactivity test (MAT) and fixed-fluidized bed (FFB) experiments using heavy oil as feedstock. The influence of La content in La-USL on cracking product distribution, gasoline group composition and research octane number (RON) was investigated. 20A critical review of mineral–microbe interaction and co-evolution:mechanisms and applications显示文摘Mineral–microbe interactions play important roles in environmental change,biogeochemical cycling of elements and formation of ore deposits.Minerals provide both beneficial(physical and chemical protection,nutrients,and energy)and detrimental(toxic substances and oxidative pressure)effects to microbes,resulting in mineral-specific microbial colonization.Microbes impact dissolution,transformation and precipitation of minerals through their activity,resulting in either genetically controlled or metabolism-induced biomineralization.Through these interactions,minerals and microbes co-evolve through Earth history.Mineral–microbe interactions typically occur at microscopic scale but the effect is often manifested at global scale.Despite advances achieved through decades of research,major questions remain.Four areas are identified for future research:integrating mineral and microbial ecology,establishing mineral biosignatures,linking laboratory mechanistic investigation to field observation,and manipulating mineral–microbe interactions for the benefit of humankind.Hailiang Dong Liuqin Huang Linduo Zhao Qiang Zeng Xiaolei Liu Yizhi Sheng Liang Shi Geng Wu Hongchen Jiang Fangru Li Li Zhang Dongyi Guo Gaoyuan Li Weiguo Hou Hongyu Chen 2022National Science Review2022,9,10:2
