2Safety and survival outcomes of transanal natural orifice specimen extraction using prolapsing technique for patients with middle-to low-rectal cancer显示文摘Objective:The transanal approach to specimen collection,combined with the prolapsing technique,is a wellestablished and minimally invasive surgery for treating rectal cancer.However,reports on outcomes for this approach are sparse.We compared short-and long-term outcomes of conventional laparoscopic surgery(CLS)vs.transanal natural orifice specimen extraction(NOSE)using the prolapsing technique for patients with middle-to low-rectal cancer.Methods:From January 2013 to December 2017,we enrolled consecutive patients with middle-to low-rectal cancer undergoing laparoscopic anterior resection.Totally,50 patients who underwent transanal NOSE using the prolapsing technique were matched with 50 patients who received CLS.Clinical parameters and survival outcomes between the two groups were compared.Results:Estimated blood loss(29.70±29.28 vs.52.80±45.09 mL,P=0.003),time to first flatus(2.50±0.79 vs.2.86±0.76,P=0.022),time to liquid diet(3.62±0.64 vs.4.20±0.76 d,P<0.001),and the need for analgesics(22%vs.48%,P=0.006)were significantly lower for the NOSE group compared to the CLS group.The incidences of overall complications and fecal incontinence were comparable in both groups.After a median follow-up of 44.52 months,the overall local recurrence rate(6%vs.5%,P=0.670),3-year disease-free survival(86.7%vs.88.0%,P=0.945)and 3-year overall survival(95.6%vs.96.0%,P=0.708),were not significantly different.Conclusions:For total laparoscopic rectal resection,transanal NOSE using the prolapsing technique is effective and safe,and associated with less trauma and pain,a faster recovery,and similar survival outcomes compared to CLS.Zhao Lu Haipeng Chen Mingguang Zhang Xu Guan Zhixun Zhao Zheng Jiang Zheng Liu Zhaoxu Zheng Xishan Wang 2020Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,5:6
3The efficacy and safety of nimodipine in acute ischemic stroke patients with mild cognitive impairment: a double-blind, randomized,placebo-controlled trial显示文摘Nimodipine might be effective in subcortical vascular dementia(VaD). Its benefit in preventing further cognitive decline in patients with acute ischemic stroke(AIS) and vascular mild cognitive impairment(VaMCI) remains to be established. In this multicenter, double-blind trial, we randomly assigned 654 eligible patients to nimodipine 30 mg three times a day or placebo. The primary outcome was any cognitive decline defined by the changes on the Mini-Mental State Examination(DMMSE à3) or vascular AD assessment scale cognitive subscale(DADAS-cog ! 4) at 6 months. Secondary outcomes included any distribution shift of DADAS-cog, DMMSE or cognitive improvement defined by DADAS-cog à2, or DMMSE ! 0. The primary outcome in the nimodipine group and placebo group were similar for DMMSE à3(4.18% and 7.22%, respectively, P = 0.15) and DADAS-cog ! 4(8.36% and 8.93% respectively,P = 0.88). The distribution shift of DADAS-cog and DMMSE differed significantly between the two groups(P = 0.03 and P = 0.05 respectively). Cognitive improvement occurred in 55.4% in the nimodipine group and 43.6% in the placebo group measured by DADAS-cog à2(Odds Ratio, 1.54; 95% confidence interval[CI] 1.10–2.14, P < 0.01) or 84.0% and 74.6% respectively by DMMSE ! 0(Odds Ratio, 1.79; 95% CI 1.18–2.70, P < 0.01). Nimodipine was associated with better cognitive function in the memory domain. The adverse events rate was similar in two groups. This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov,NCT01220622. 5Mathematical analysis and its experimental comparisons for the accumulative roll bonding(ARB)process with different superimposed layers显示文摘Based on the traditional two-layer accumulative roll bonding(TARB),the geometrical variations and mathematical relationship during the four-layer accumulative roll bonding(FARB)were derived and summarized.Furthermore,the multi-layer accumulative roll bonding(MARB)technology was proposed and the geometrical variations and mathematical relationship of MARB were simultaneously derived and summarized.Experimentally,Mg-14Li-3Al-2Gd(LAGd1432)sheets were fabricated by TARB and FARB,respectively.Compared with the TARB,the FARB has a higher accumulative efficiency in terms of accumulative layers,total number of interfaces,interface spacing,total deformation and equivalent strain.Therefore,the FARB-processed sheets in lower cycles have the similar microstructure and mechanical properties of the TARB-processed sheets in higher cycles.In addition,FARB process can further break through the deformation limit of TARB process in a single cycle through adopting two-step rolling in one cycle with 50%deformation in one pass and 75%accumulative deformation in one cycle,which can effectively solve the problem of poor interface bonding of the latest interface brought by the last cycle,and thus significantly improve the phenomenon of unstable performance of the ARB-processed sheets.Haipeng Zheng Ruizhi Wu Legan Hou Jinghuai Zhang Milin Zhang 2021Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,5:4
6Enormous enhancement in electrical performance of few-layered MoTe2 due to Schottky barrier reduction induced by ultraviolet ozone treatment显示文摘Doping can improve the band alignment at the metal-semiconductor interface to modify the corresponding Schottky barrier,which is crucial for the realization of high-performance logic components.Here,we systematically investigated a convenient and effective method,ultraviolet ozone treatment,for p-type doping of MoTe2 field-effect transistors to enormously enhance the corresponding electrical performance.The resulted hole concentration and mobility are near 100 times enhanced to be〜1.0×10^13 cm^-2 and 101.4 cm^2/(V·s),respectively,and the conductivity is improved by 5 orders of magnitude.These values are comparable to the highest ones ever obtained via annealing doping or non-lithographic fabrication methods at room temperature.Compared with the pristine one,the photoresponsivity(522 mA/W)is enhanced approximately 100 times.Such excellent performances can be attributed to the sharply reduced Schottky barrier because of the surface charge transfer from MoTe2 to MoOx(x<3),as proved by photoemission spectroscopy.Additionally,the p-doped devices exhibit excellent stability in ambient air.Our findings show significant potential in future nanoelectronic and optoelectronic applications.Xiaoming Zheng Xueao Zhang Yuehua Wei Jinxin Liu Hang Yang Xiangzhe Zhang Shitan Wang Haipeng Xie Chuyun Deng Yongli Gao Han Huang 2020Nano Research2020,13,4:3
7Direct control of store-operated calcium channels by ultrafast laser显示文摘Ca^(2+) channels are essential to cell birth,life,and death.They can be externally activated by optogenetic tools,but this requires robust introduction of exogenous optogenetic genes for expression of photosensitive proteins in biological systems.Here we present femtoSOC,a method for direct control of Ca^(2+)channels solely by ultrafast laser without the need for optogenetic tools or any other exogenous reagents.Specifically,by focusing and scanning wavelength-tuned low-power femtosecond laser pulses on the plasma membrane for multiphoton excitation,we directly induced Ca^(2+) influx in cultured cells.Mechanistic study reveals that photoexcited flavins covalently bind cysteine residues in Orai1 via thioether bonds,which facilitates Orai1 polymerization to form store-operated calcium channels(SOCs)independently of STIM1,a protein generally participating in SOC formation,enabling all-optical activation of Ca^(2+) influx and downstream signaling pathways.Moreover,we used femtoSOC to demonstrate direct neural activation both in brain slices in vitro and in intact brains of living mice in vivo in a spatiotemporal-specific manner,indicating potential utility of femtoSOC.Pan Cheng Xiaoying Tian Wanyi Tang Juan Cheng Jin Bao Haipeng Wang Sisi Zheng Youjun Wang Xunbin Wei Tunan Chen Hua Feng Tian Xue Keisuke Goda Hao He 2021Cell Research2021,31,7:2
8Risk stratification in symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic disease with conventional vascular risk factors and cerebral haemodynamics显示文摘Background and purpose Symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis(sICAS)is associated with a considerable risk of recurrent stroke despite contemporarily optimal medical treatment.Severity of luminal stenosis in sICAS and its haemodynamic significance quantified with computational fluid dynamics(CFD)models were associated with the risk of stroke recurrence.We aimed to develop and compare stroke risk prediction nomograms in sICAS,based on vascular risk factors and these metrics.Methods Patients with 50%-99%sICAS confirmed in CT angiography(CTA)were enrolled.Conventional vascular risk factors were collected.Severity of luminal stenosis in sICAS was dichotomised as moderate(50%-69%)and severe(70%-99%).Translesional pressure ratio(PR)and wall shear stress ratio(WSSR)were quantified via CTA-based CFD modelling;the haemodynamic status of sICAS was classified as normal(normal PR&WSSR),intermediate(otherwise)and abnormal(abnormal PR&WSSR).All patients received guideline-recommended medical treatment.We developed and compared performance of nomograms composed of these variables and independent predictors identified in multivariate logistic regression,in predicting the primary outcome,recurrent ischaemic stroke in the same territory(SIT)within 1 year.Results Among 245 sICAS patients,20(8.2%)had SIT.The D2H2A nomogram,incorporating diabetes,dyslipidaemia,haemodynamic status of sICAS,hypertension and age≥50 years,showed good calibration(P for Hosmer-Lemeshow test=0.560)and discrimination(C-statistic 0.73,95%CI 0.60 to 0.85).It also had better performance in risk reclassification and provided larger net benefits in decision curve analysis,compared with nomograms composed of conventional vascular risk factors only,and plus the severity of luminal stenosis in sICAS.Sensitivity analysis in patients with anterior-circulation sICAS showed similar results.Conclusions The D2H2A nomogram,incorporating conventional vascular risk factors and the haemodynamic significance of sICAS as assessed in CFD models,could be a useful tool to stratify sICAS patients for the risk of recurrent stroke under contemporarily optimal medical treatment.Xuan Tian Hui Fang Linfang Lan Hing Lung Ip Jill Abrigo Haipeng Liu Lina Zheng Florence S Y Fan Sze Ho Ma Bonaventure Ip Bo Song Yuming Xu Jingwei Li Bing Zhang Yun Xu Yannie O Y Soo Vincent Mok Ka Sing Wong Thomas W Leung Xinyi Leng 2023Stroke & Vascular Neurology2023,8,1:2
9PpTCP18 is upregulated by lncRNA5 and controls branch number in peach (Prunus persica) through positive feedback regulation of strigolactone biosynthesis显示文摘Branch number is an important agronomic trait in peach(Prunus persica)trees because plant architecture affects fruit yield and quality.Although breeders can select varieties with different tree architecture,the biological mechanisms underlying architecture remain largely unclear.In this study,a pillar peach(‘Zhaoshouhong’)and a standard peach(‘Okubo’)were compared.‘Zhaoshouhong’was found to have significantly fewer secondary branches than‘Okubo’.Treatment with the synthetic strigolactone(SL)GR24 decreased branch number.Transcriptome analysis indicated that PpTCP18(a homologous gene of Arabidopsis thaliana BRC1)expression was negatively correlated with strigolactone synthesis gene expression,indicating that PpTCP18 may play an important role in peach branching.Yeast one-hybrid,electrophoretic mobility shift,dual-luciferase assays and PpTCP18-knockdown in peach leaf buds indicated that PpTCP18 could increase expression of PpLBO1,PpMAX1,and PpMAX4.Furthermore,transgenic Arabidopsis plants overexpressing PpTCP18 clearly exhibited reduced primary rosette-leaf branches.Moreover,lncRNA sequencing and transient expression analysis revealed that lncRNA5 targeted PpTCP18,significantly increasing PpTCP18 expression.These results provide insights into the mRNA and lncRNA network in the peach SL signaling pathway and indicate that PpTCP18,a transcription factor downstream of SL signaling,is involved in positive feedback regulation of SL biosynthesis.This role of PpTCP18 may represent a novel mechanism in peach branching regulation.Our study improves current understanding of the mechanisms underlying peach branching and provides theoretical support for genetic improvement of peach tree architecture.Xiaobei Wang Qiuping Wang Lixia Yan Yuhang Hao Xiaodong Lian Haipeng Zhang Xianbo Zheng Jun Cheng Wei Wang Langlang Zhang Xia Ye Jidong Li Bin Tan Jiancan Feng 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,1:2
10Reducing feather pecking and cloacal cannibalism by providing layer breeders with nest boxes in colony cages for natural mating显示文摘Colony cages for natural mating have been applied on many layer breeder farms.However,feather pecking and cloacal cannibalism are considered as prominent problems for these systems.This study aimed to investigate the effects on feather pecking and vent pecking behaviors by providing layer breeders with nest boxes(0.90 m L×0.40 m W×0.60 m H)in colony cages for natural mating(4.80 m L×1.20 m W×0.71 m H).Video recording and artificial observation were adopted.The results showed that the usage of nest boxes gradually increased from the beginning of nest boxes providing at the age of 37 weeks to the end of the experiment at the age of 55 weeks.The utilization rates of nest boxes were 36.75%,44.75%and 50.38%at the ages of 41 weeks,47 weeks and 53 weeks,respectively.The hens in the cages without nest boxes showed significantly more frequent gentle feather pecks(both given and received)than hens in the cages with nest boxes at the ages of 41 weeks,47 weeks and 53 weeks.A decreasing trend of gentle feather pecking frequency(both given and received)was found with the increasing age for both the two groups.No significant difference was found in the number of given or received severe feather pecks at the age of 41 weeks.The hens in the cages without nest boxes showed a significantly higher frequency of given and received severe feather pecks than hens in the cages with nest boxes at the ages of 47 weeks and 53 weeks(p<0.05).Both cannibalistic injury occurrence and mortality rate in the cages with nest boxes were significantly lower than those in the cages without nest boxes.In conclusion,providing nest boxes in colony cages for natural mating could decrease abnormal pecking behaviors and improve animal welfare conditions of layer breeders.Haipeng Shi Weichao Zheng Jiang Tu Baoming Li 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,6:1

13Index of microcirculatory resistance: state-of-the-art and potential applications in computational simulation of coronary artery disease显示文摘The dysfunction of coronary microcirculation is an important cause of coronary artery disease(CAD).The index of microcirculatory resistance(IMR)is a quantitative evaluation of coronary microcirculatory function,which provides a significant reference for the prediction,diagnosis,treatment,and prognosis of CAD.IMR also plays a key role in investigating the interaction between epicardial and microcirculatory dysfunctions,and is closely associated with coronary hemodynamic parameters such as flow rate,distal coronary pressure,and aortic pressure,which have been widely applied in computational studies of CAD.However,there is currently a lack of consensus across studies on the normal and pathological ranges of IMR.The relationships between IMR and coronary hemodynamic parameters have not been accurately quantified,which limits the application of IMR in computational CAD studies.In this paper,we discuss the research gaps between IMR and its potential applications in the computational simulation of CAD.Computational simulation based on the combination of IMR and other hemodynamic parameters is a promising technology to improve the diagnosis and guide clinical trials of CAD.Yingyi GENG Xintong WU Haipeng LIU Dingchang ZHENG Ling XIA 2022Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2022,23,2:1

19Adaptability of pullets from cages to a large cage aviary unit system during the initial settling-in period显示文摘Pullets often raised in cage system from week 1 to week 13 in China,when transferred to aviary system after,there will be a problem with adapt.A large cage aviary unit(LCAU)system was developed,which allocated with facilities such as ramps to help cage reared hens to adapt to the multi-tier space.To investigate hens’adaptability to the new system,space use over time in the LCAU system during the first 10 days after hens transferred were recorded,instantaneous scan sampling and continuous focal sampling were used to assess the behavior difference of hens between the LCAU and conventional cage(CC)systems.On the first day of arrival,10.03% of hens reached the second tier(S2)and the third tier(S3)of the aviary.During the observation period,an average of 2.42% of hens climbed and stayed at the upper tiers every day.Space allowance on floor of the first tier(S1)increased from 444.62 cm^(2)/hen(91 d)to 586.32 cm^(2)/hen(100 d),which was more than 540 cm^(2)/hen in the CC system.Comfort behaviors in the LCAU system were significantly more than in the CC system(p<0.01)and hens performed more comfort behaviors with the increase of days after transferred.Hens ate and drank less in the LCAU system in the beginning,however,with the increasing use of upper space,hens ate and drank more and more in the LCAU system during the 10 days after transferred from CC system.Consequently,there were no difference of feed behavior between the CC and LCAU systems(p>0.05)on the last 5 days of the whole observing period.The results indicated that hens gradually learned to use the 3-dimensional space in the initial settling-in period and,gained a good welfare condition in LCAU system.Further studies are needed to investigate the three-dimensional preferences and behavior expression in difference period to bridge the gap in knowledge of space use capacity among adult laying hens.Liu Yang Qin Tong Haipeng Shi Gang Chen Zhengxiang Shi Weichao Zheng Baoming Li 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,5:0
20Bio-Inspired Optimal Dispatching of Wind Power Consumption Considering Multi-Time Scale Demand Response and High-Energy Load Participation显示文摘Bio-inspired computer modelling brings solutions fromthe living phenomena or biological systems to engineering domains.To overcome the obstruction problem of large-scale wind power consumption in Northwest China,this paper constructs a bio-inspired computer model.It is an optimal wind power consumption dispatching model of multi-time scale demand response that takes into account the involved high-energy load.First,the principle of wind power obstruction with the involvement of a high-energy load is examined in this work.In this step,highenergy load model with different regulation characteristics is established.Then,considering the multi-time scale characteristics of high-energy load and other demand-side resources response speed,a multi-time scale model of coordination optimization is built.An improved bio-inspired model incorporating particle swarm optimization is applied to minimize system operation and wind curtailment costs,as well as to find the most optimal energy configurationwithin the system.Lastly,we take an example of regional power grid in Gansu Province for simulation analysis.Results demonstrate that the suggested scheduling strategy can significantly enhance the wind power consumption level and minimize the system’s operational cost.Peng Zhao Yongxin Zhang Qiaozhi Hua Haipeng Li Zheng Wen 2023Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,,2:0
