1Oxygen adsorption/desorption behavior of YBaCo4O7+δ and its application to oxygen removal from nitrogen显示文摘A new medium-temperature (200-400℃) adsorbent material for oxygen removal and air separation, YBaCo4O7+β, was prepared by the solid-state reaction method. This new adsorbent could adsorb a large quantity of oxygen in the temperature range of 200-370 ℃. Ad-sorbed oxygen could be released by raising temperature over 400 ℃ or by switching the atmosphere from oxygen to nitrogen. This oxygen adsorption and desorption process had good reproducibility. Taking advantage of this unique oxygen intake/release behavior, a nitrogen puri-fication process was investigated. 3Accelerated evolution of an Lhx2 enhancer shapes mammalian social hierarchies显示文摘Social hierarchies emerged during evolution,and social rank influences behavior and health of individuals.However,the evolutionary mechanisms of social hierarchy are still unknown in amniotes.Here we developed a new method and performed a genome-wide screening for identifying regions with accelerated evolution in the ancestral lineage of placental mammals,where mammalian social hierarchies might have initially evolved.Then functional analyses were conducted for the most accelerated region designated as placental-accelerated sequence 1(PAS1,P=3.15 × 10^-18).Multiple pieces of evidence show that PAS1 is an enhancer of the transcription factor gene Lhx2 involved in brain development.PAS1s isolated from various amniotes showed different c/s-regulatory activity in vitro,and affected the expression of Lhx2 differently in the nervous system of mouse embryos.PAS1 knock-out mice lack social stratification.PAS1 knock-in mouse models demonstrate that PAS1s determine the social dominance and subordinate of adult mice,and that social ranks could even be turned over by mutated PAS1.All homozygous mutant mice had normal huddled sleeping behavior,motor coordination and strength.Therefore,PAS1-Lhx2 modulates social hierarchies and is essential for establishing social stratification in amniotes,and positive Darwinian selection on PAS1 plays pivotal roles in the occurrence of mammalian social hierarchies.Yuting Wang Guangyi Dai Zhili Gu Guopeng Liu Ke Tang Yi-Hsuan Pan Yujie Chen Xin Lin Nan Wu Haoshan Chen Su Feng Shou Qiu Hongduo Sun Qian Li Chuan Xu Yanan Mao Yong Edward Zhang Philipp Khaitovich Yan-Ling Wang Qunxiu Liu Jing-Dong Jackie Han Zhen Shao Gang Wei Chun Xu Naihe Jing Haipeng Li 2020Cell Research2020,30,5:4
4Three-Dimensional Hierarchical Ternary Nanostructures Bismuth/Polypyrrole/CNTs for High Performance Potassium-lon Battery Anodes显示文摘In recent years,the anode materials of bismuth(Bi)-based potassium ion batteries with high theoretical capacity and suitable potassium ion insertion potential have attracted extensive attention.However,due to the volume expansion of Bi,the performance of Bi-based anode materials is not ideal during potassium ion(de)intercalation.In order to solve these problems,we report a three-dimensional(3D)ternary bismuth nanoparticles/conductive polymers/carbon nanotubes(Bi/PPy/CNT)hybrid anode material for K-ion batteries.At a current density of 100 mA·g^(-1),its reversible capacity reaches 302 mAh·g^(-1) after 200 cycles,while it reaches 195.7 mAh·g^(-1) after 600 cycles at 1 A·g^(-1).Its excellent performance is attributed to the hydrogel network which provides a range of electron transport networks and high porosity.Carbon nanotubes are used as electron enhancers to reduce the volume expansion of Bi particles during the reaction.This study provides a prerequisite for expanding the application of 3D ternary materials.Wenming Zhang Xiaoyu Chen Haoshan Xu Yiqun Liu Xiaohui Zhao Zisheng Zhang Ling Li 2022Chinese Journal of Chemistry2022,40,13:2
5Physiological and Molecular Changes of Detached Wheat Leaves in Responding to Various Treatments显示文摘Leaf senescence is induced or accelerated when leaves are detached. However, the senescence process and expression pattern of senescence-associated genes (SAGs) when leaves are detached are not clearly understood. To detect senescence-associated physiological changes and SAG expression, wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) leaves were detached and treated with light, darkness, low temperature (4 C), jasmonic acid (JA), abscisic acid (ABA), and salicylic acid (SA). The leaf phenotypes, chlorophyll content, delayed fluorescence (DF), and expression levels of two SAGs, namely, TaSAG3 and TaSAG5, were analyzed. Under these different treatments, the detached leaves turned yellow with different patterns and varying chlorophyll content. DF significantly decreased after the dark, ABA, JA and SA treatments. TaSAG3 and TaSAG5, which are expressed in natural senescent leaves, showed different expression patterns under various treatments. However, both TaSAG3 and TaSAG5 were upregulated after leaf detachment. 19Identification of no pollen 1 provides a candidate gene for heterosis utilization in foxtail millet(Setaria italica L.)显示文摘Male sterility is a common biological phenomenon in plant kingdom and has been used to generate male-sterile lines, which are important genetic resources for commercial hybrid seed production. Although increasing numbers of male-sterility genes have been identified in rice(Oryza sativa) and Arabidopsis(Arabidopsis thaliana), few male-sterility-related genes have been characterized in foxtail millet(Setaria italica). In this study, we isolated a male-sterile ethyl methanesulfonate-generated mutant in foxtail millet, no pollen 1(sinp1), which displayed abnormal Ubisch bodies, defective pollen exine and complete male sterility. Using bulk segregation analysis, we cloned SiNP1 and confirmed its function with CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing. SiNP1 encoded a putative glucose-methanol-choline oxidoreductase.Subcellular localization showed that the SiNP1 protein was preferentially localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and was predominantly expressed in panicle. Transcriptome analysis revealed that many genes were differentially expressed in the sinp1 mutant, some of which encoded proteins putatively involved in carbohydrate metabolism, fatty acid biosynthesis, and lipid transport and metabolism, which were closely associated with pollen wall development. Metabolome analysis revealed the disturbance of flavonoids metabolism and fatty acid biosynthesis in the mutant.
