Stability of Ultra-fine Microstructures during Tempering显示文摘The stability of ultra-fine microstructure during tempering at 650℃ was investigated on a Nb-containing steel. The steel had undergone 5 passes controlled rolling, then was relaxed (air cooled) to 730 ℃ and cooled in water The evolution of microstructure was that, in early stage of tempering, no obvious change was detected by means of optical microscopy while dislocation cells were formed inside bainitic laths. With further tempering, bainitic laths started to coalesce in some regions. Finally, polygonal ferrite was formed while hardness decreased dramatically. Some samples taken from the same primary plate were reheated at 930 ℃for 0.5 h followed by quenching into water before tempering. Despite their lower original hardness, the reheated samples softened faster during tempering. Ferrite was quickly formed in the reheated samples. These results indicate that the evolution of microstructures towards equilibrium during tempering of the steel is mainly determined by whether dislocations are pinned rather than the dislocation density.Shanwu Yang, Chengjia Shang,Xinlai He, Xuemin Wang, Yi Yuan (Material Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China) 2001Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2001,8,2:25
Relaxation of Deformed Austenite and Refinement of Bainite in a Nb-Containing Microalloyed Steel显示文摘By means of stress relaxation and strain-induced precipitation in deformed austenite, bainite with micron sheaves size was ob-tained in Nb-containing steel. Microstructures of deformed samples isothermally relaxed for various time followed by cooling in water were examined. Stress relaxation test and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were employed to detect precipitation of microalloy elements, such as Nb, Ti, during isothermal holding after deformation. All the samples were constituted by lath-like bainite along with acicular ferrite, but the size of bainitic sheaves and the amount of acicular ferrite were changed with relaxation time. To achieve optimum refinement, relaxation should be confined in the stage when the precipitates have sufficiently grown and started to coarsen. The sample having not undergone relaxation does not exhibit obvious refinement despite of its higher dislocation density. These results indicate that relaxation promotes bainite to refine, which is because deformed austenitic grains are divided by dislocation walls formed during rela-xation and acicular ferrite formed before bainitic transformation.Shanwu Yang, Xuemin Wang, Chengjia Shang, Xinlai He, Yi Yuan Material Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China 2001Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2001,8,3:24
A Special TMCP Used to Develop a 800MPa Grade HSLA Steel显示文摘The effect of relaxation after finished rolling on structures and properties of four microalloyed steel with different content of Nb and Ti was investigated. By alloy designing and control rolling + relaxation-precipitation-control phase transformation (RPC) process, a new 800 MPa grade HSLA plate steel could be obtained, the microstructure is composite ultra- fine lath bainite/martensite. The tempering process and mechanical properties of this kind of HSLA steel were investigated. The yield strength can achieve 800 MPa, and the ductility and impact toughness is satisfied.Chengjia Shang,Xuemin Wang, Xinlai He, Shanwu Yang, Yi Yuan Material Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, 100083, China 2001Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2001,8,3:20
Refinement of packet size in low carbon bainitic steel by special thermo-mechanical control process显示文摘The packet size of bainitic steel can be refined by a special relaxation-precipitation-control phase transformation (RPC)technology. When processed by RPC process, the low carbon bainitic steel composes of two kinds of main intermediate transformation phases. One is ultra-fine lath-like bainitic ferrite and the lath is less than 1 μm in width and about 6 μm in length; the alignment of laths forms a refined packet, and the size of packets is about 5-7 μm in length and about 3-4 μm in width. The other is acicular structure. The morphology and distribution of these acicular structures are influenced by relaxation process, the thin and short acicular structures cut the prior austenite grain and refine the bainitic packet size. For the optimum relaxation time, the packet size can be refined to the finest. The mechanical properties are influenced by relaxation time and the 800 Mpa grade low carbon bainitic steel with excellent toughness can be obtained by RPC process.Chengjia Shang Xuemin Wang Shanwu Yang Xinlai He Materials Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China 2004Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2004,11,3:15
Change in dislocation configuration of deformed Fe-Ni-Nb-Ti-C-B alloy during stress relaxation显示文摘Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) was applied to investigate the evolution of dislocation configuration and straininduced precipitation behavior during relaxation process after deformation in Fe-Ni-Nb-Ti-C-B alloy. Experimental results indicatethai the dislocation density is very high and distribute randomly before relaxation. As the relaxation time increasing, dislocation cellswill form gradually by polygonization. The strain induced precipitation retards the progress. In the final relaxation stage, most dislo-cations get rid of pinning of precipitates and the cells have developed into subgrains with large size.Shaoqiang Yuan, Shanwu Yang, Wenjin Nie, and Xinlai He Department of Materials Physics, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China Tangshan College, Tangshan 063000, China 2003Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2003,10,3:9
Effects of inclusions on microstructure and properties of heat-affected-zone for low-carbon steels显示文摘The characteristics of inclusions in two types of low-carbon steels by different deoxidization methods have been investigated by using the welding thermal simulation, the optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. In addition, the effects of inclusions on microstructure and properties of heat-affected-zone were studied. The nucleation and growth of intragranular acicular ferrite was observed in situ by the laser scanning confocal microscopy. The distribution of Mn element near the inclusion was also analyzed by the auger electron spectroscopy. The results showed that the inclusions in Al killed steel are mainly aluminum oxides, manganese sulfide and titanium nitrides, and that the inclusions in Ti killed steel are mainly titanium oxide, manganese sulfide complex inclusion and single manganese sulfide. The auger electron spectroscopy showed that there is an Mn-depleted zone near the interface of TiO x /MnS complex inclusion in the size of 1-3 m.It could be the effective nucleus of intragranular acicular ferrite which could divide the prior austenite grains, inhibit the growth of low-temperature microstruc-ture,and refine the final microstructure,so as to improve the toughness of heat-affected-zone significantly.ZHENG ChaoChao WANG XueMin LI ShuRui SHANG ChengJia HE XinLai 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,6:4
Effect of zirconium addition on the austenite grain coarsening behavior and mechanical properties of 900 MPa low carbon bainite steel显示文摘The ultra-fine bainitic microstructure of a 900 MPa low carbon bainitic Cu-Ni-Mo-B steel was obtained by a newly de-veloped relaxation precipitation control (RPC) phase transformation processing. In a pan-cake like prior-austenite grain, the micro-structure consisted of lath bainite, a little of abnormal granular bainite, and acicular ferrite. The effect of zirconium carbonitrides on the austenite grain coarsening behavior was studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that, the lath is narrower with increasing cooling rate. The ratio of all kinds of bainitic microstructure is proper with the intermediate cooling rate; and Zr-containing precipitates distribute uniformly, which restrains austenite grain growing in heat-affected welding zone.Jia Guo Aimin Guo Hui Guo Ying Wang Jing Li Xinlai He 2008Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2008,15,6:3

BEHAVIOUR OF VACANCY INFLUENCE DURING DIFFUSION IN METALS显示文摘The effects of vacancies on diffusion of interstitial and substitutional atoms as well asinteraction between them in metals were discussed. In the interstitial alloy,a coupling betweeninterstitial atoms and vacancy is interrelated through the reaction of formation anddissociation of complex. For substitutional alloy with |E_b|<kT,if the atom diffusion is of thevacancies exchange mechanism, the vacancies may considerably affect atom diffusion.Basedon the micromechanism of diffusion in these two alloys, their diffusion equations under generalcondition may be obtained, and the second Fick’ s law is only an approximate form when neg-lecting vacancy influence.ZHANG Sanhong HE Xinlai CHU Youyi KE Jun (T.Ko) University of Science and Technology Beijing,China Doctor,Department of Materials Physics,University of Science and Technology Beijing,Beijing 100083 1992Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)1992,5,6:1

Redistribution of Boron during Ferrite Reaction in Nb-B Microalloyed Steel显示文摘By contrast of microstructure and boron distribution in the same area of samples, the behavior of boronduring ferrite reaction in Nb-B microalloyed steel was studied. Boron atoms have segregated to original austeniteboundaries betfore ferrite reaction starts during isothermal treatment. The concentration of boron in small Pieces offerrite foming along austenite boundaries may be remarkably higher than that in austenite matrix, but it will reducegradually when the ferrite continuously grows. There is no obvious boron segregation on interface of γ/α and α/α.These facts indicate that ferrite growth is not controlled by diffusion of boron in austenite.Shanwu Yang Xinlai He(Applied Science School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China) 1998International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials1998,12,4:1

Subgrains and boron distribution of low carbon bainitic steels显示文摘The structure variation of deformed austenite during the relaxation stage after deformation at various temperatures in an Nb-B ultra low carbon bainitic steel and Fe-Ni alloy was studied by the thermo-simulation. Optical microscope and TEM were ap- plied to analyze the microstructure after RPC (Relaxation-precipitation-controlling phase transformation technique) and the evolution of dislocation configuration. The particle tracking autoradiography (PTA) technique, revealing the distribution of boron, was em- ployed to show the change of boron segregation after different relaxation times. The results indicate that during the relaxation stage the recovery occurs in the deformed austenite, the dislocations rearrange and subgrains form. During the subsequent cooling the boron will segregate at the boundaries of subgrains.Xuemin Wang Bing Cao Chengjia Shang Xueyi Liu Xinlai He 2005Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2005,12,5:1

BEHAVIOUR OF BORON SEGREGATION AT GRAIN BOUNDARIES IN BCC Fe-3% Si ALLOY显示文摘The behaviour of baron segregation at grain boundaries in Fe-3% Si has been studied bymeans of particle tracking autoradiography(PTA).The results indicate that the tendency ofequilibrium segregation of B at grain boundaries in Fe-3% Si is higher than that in austeniticalloys. No observable nonequilibrium segregation of B at grain boundaries was revealed inFe-3% Si alloy during cooling and isothermal holding. The binding energy between boron at-oms and grain boundaries is 55.7±1.7 kJ/mol.Based on the complex mechanism of B segre-gation of quenching-induce-nonequilibrium segregation, different behaviours of B segrega-tion in γ-Fe and bcc Fe-3% Si alloy were discussed.ZHANG Sanhong HE Xinlai CHU Youyi~* KE Jun University of Science and Technology Beijing,Beijing,China lecturer,Department of Materials Physics,University of Science and Technology Beijing,Beijing 100083,China 1993Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)1993,6,6:0
NON-EQUILIBRIUM SEGREGATION OF SOLUTE TO GRAIN BOUNDARIES显示文摘In consideration of the local equilibrium among vacancies, solute atoms and vacancy-soluteatom complexes and the influence of equilibrium grain boundary segregation, theoretical dy-namic formulas for non-equilibrium grain boundary segregation of solute have been derivedon the basis of the vacancy-dragging mechanism.Theoretical calculation by computer hasbeen carried out for the non-equilibrium segregation of boron to austenitic grain boundariesduring isothermal holding and continuous cooling after heating at high temperatures. The re-suits agree well with those obtained from experiments.CHU Youyi ZHANG Sanhong HE Xinlai KE Jun(T.Ko) University of Science and Technology Beijing,China CHU Youyi Professor,The Nonferrous Metals Society of China,Room 602,B12,Fuxing Road,Beijing 100814,China 1990Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)1990,3,1:0
