| 1 | Progress in Semi-arid Climate Change Studies in China显示文摘This article reviews recent progress in semi-arid climate change research in China.Results indicate that the areas of semiarid regions have increased rapidly during recent years in China,with an increase of 33%during 1994-2008 compared to 1948-62.Studies have found that the expansion rate of semi-arid areas over China is nearly 10 times higher than that of arid and sub-humid areas,and is mainly transformed from sub-humid/humid regions.Meanwhile,the greatest warming during the past 100 years has been observed over semi-arid regions in China,and mainly induced by radiatively forced processes.The intensity of the regional temperature response over semi-arid regions has been amplified by land-atmosphere interactions and human activities.The decadal climate variation in semi-arid regions is modulated by oceanic oscillations,which induce land-sea and north-south thermal contrasts and affect the intensities of westerlies,planetary waves and blocking frequencies.In addition,the drier climates in semi-arid regions across China are also associated with the weakened East Asian summer monsoon in recent years.Moreover,dust aerosols in semi-arid regions may have altered precipitation by affecting the local energy and hydrological cycles.Finally,semi-arid regions in China are projected to continuously expand in the 21st century,which will increase the risk of desertification in the near future. | Jianping HUANG Jieru MA Xiaodan GUAN Yue LI Yongli HE | 2019 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2019,36,9: | 15 |
| 2 | Correlation between BRAF^(V600E) mutation and clinicopathological features in pediatric papillary thyroid carcinoma显示文摘In adults, the presence of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation in papillary thyroid cancer(PTC) has been demonstrated to be strongly associated with aggressive cancer-cell characteristics and poor patient prognosis. In contrast, the frequency of this mutation in pediatric PTC has undergone limited study, and the few available estimates range from 0 to 63%. Furthermore, the role of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation in pediatric PTC is controversial; thus, the present study aimed to investigate the prevalence and role of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation in48 pediatric patients with PTC, aged 3–13 years. Of these patients, 41 were diagnosed with classic PTC, five were found to have a follicular variant of PTC, and two to exhibit a diffuse sclerosing PTC variant. The BRAF^(V600E) mutation was identified to be present in 35.4% of the 48 analyzed patients, and in 41.5% of the patients diagnosed with classical PTC. Furthermore, the presence of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation was found to be associated with a patient age at diagnosis of less than ten years(P=0.011), the performance of a thyroidectomy(P=0.03), exhibited tumor multifocality(P=0.02) and/or extra-thyroidal invasion(P=0.003), and both a low MACIS(Metastases, Age, Completeness of resection, Invasion, Size)(P=0.036) and AMES(Age, Metastasis, Extent of tumor,Size)(P=0.001)score. | 3 | The carbon nanotubes-based materials and their applications for organic pollutant removal: A critical review显示文摘The carbon nanotubes(CNTs) as the emerging materials for organic pollutant removal have gradually become a burgeoning research field.Herein,a mini-review of CNTs-based materials curre ntly studies for organic pollutant elimination is presented.This review summarizes the preparation methods of CNTsbased materials.CNTs-based materials can be used as adsorbents to remove organic pollutants in wastewater.The adsorption mechanisms mainly include surface diffusio n,pore diffusion and adsorption reaction.Most importantly,an in-depth overview of CNTs-based materials currently available in advanced oxidation processes(AOPs) applications for wastewater treatment is proposed.CNTs-based materials can catalyze different oxidants(e.g.,hydrogen peroxide(H2 O2),persulfates(PMS/PDS),ozone(O3) and ferrate/permanganate(Fe(Ⅵ)/Mn(Ⅶ)) to generate more reactive oxygen species(ROS) for organic pollutant elimination.Moreover,the possible reaction mechanisms of removing organic pollutants by CNTs-based materials are summarized systematically and discussed in detail.Finally,application potential and future research directions of CNTs-based materials in the environmental remediation field are proposed. | Jiali Peng Yongli He Chenying Zhou Shijun Su Bo Lai | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,5: | 7 |
| 4 | The biological effect of recombinant humanized collagen on damaged skin induced by UV-photoaging:An in vivo study显示文摘The application of medical devices to repair skin damage is clinically accepted and natural polymer enjoys an important role in this field,such as collagen or hyaluronic acid,etc.However,the biosafety and efficacy of these implants are still challenged.In this study,a skin damage animal model was prepared by UV-photoaging and recombinant humanized type Ⅲ collagen(rhCol Ⅲ)was applied as a bioactive material to implant in vivo to study its biological effect,comparing with saline and uncrosslinked hyaluronic acid(HA).Animal skin conditions were non-invasively and dynamically monitored during the 8 weeks experiment.Histological observation,specific gene expression and other molecular biological methods were applied by the end of the animal experiment.The results indicated that rhCol Ⅲ could alleviate the skin photoaging caused by UV radiation,including reduce the thickening of epidermis and dermis,increase the secretion of Collagen Ⅰ(Col Ⅰ)and Collagen Ⅲ(Col Ⅲ)and remodel of extracellular matrix(ECM).Although the cell-material interaction and mechanism need more investigation,the effect of rhCol Ⅲ on damaged skin was discussed from influence on cells,reconstruction of ECM,and stimulus of small biological molecules based on current results.In conclusion,our findings provided rigorous biosafety information of rhCol Ⅲ and approved its potential in skin repair and regeneration.Although enormous efforts still need to be made to achieve successful translation from bench to clinic,the recombinant humanized collagen showed superiorities from both safety and efficacy aspects. | Jing Wang He Qiu Yang Xu Yongli Gao Peijie Tan Rui Zhao Zhanhong Liu Yajun Tang Xiangdong Zhu Chongyun Bao Hang Wang Hai Lin Xingdong Zhang | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,5: | 7 |
| 5 | FeNi nanoparticles on Mo_(2)TiC_(2)T_(x)MXene@nickel foam as robust electrocatalysts for overall water splitting显示文摘The development of cost-effective electrocatalysts for overall water splitting is highly desirable,remaining a critical challenge at current stage.Herein,a class of composite FeNi@MXene(Mo_(2)TiC_(2)T_(x))@nickel foam(NF)has been synthesized through introducing Fe2+ions and in-situ combining with surface nickel atoms on nickel foam.The obtained FeNi@Mo_(2)TiC_(2)T_(x)@NF exhibited high activity with overpotentials of 165 and 190 mV for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)at a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2),respectively.The synergetic effects of Mo_(2)TiC_(2)T_(x)and FeNi nanoalloys lead to increasing catalytic activities,where MXene provides high active surface area and rich active sites for HER,and FeNi nanoalloys promote the OER.Theoretical simulation of electron exchange capacity between FeNi and MXene in FeNi@Mo_(2)TiC_(2)T_(x)catalyst shows that electrons transferred from surface Mo atoms to the interface between FeNi and MXene,indicating that the electrons are accumulated near the FeNi nanoparticles.This kind of electronic distribution facilitates the formation of intermediate of NiOOH.Correspondingly,(H++e-)is more inclined onto Mo-Ni interfaces for HER.The Gibbs free energy changes for H*to HER and potential-limiting step for-OOH intermediate in OER over FeNi@Mo_(2)TiC_(2)T_(x)are much less than those on bare MXene.The catalyst can be further used for overall water splitting in alkaline solution,realizing a current density of 50 mA·cm^(-2)at 1.74 V.This work provides a facile strategy to achieve efficient and cheap catalysts for new energy production. | Jiayang Wang Peilei He Yongli Shen Linxiu Dai Zhe Li Yue Wu Changhua An | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,10: | 5 |

| 7 | Biogenic C-doped titania templated by cyanobacteria for visible-light photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B显示文摘Cyanobacteria, which occurred in eutrophic water harvest solar light to carry out photosynthesis with high efficiency. In this work, cyanobacteria(Microcystis sp.) were used as biotemplate to synthesize titania structure. The synthesized titania sample had similar morphology to that of the original template in spite of the fragile unicellular structures and extremely high water content of cyanobacterial cells. Incorporation of biogenic C, as well as the morphology inherited from biotemplate improved visiblelight absorbance of the titania structure. The sample exhibited higher visible-light photocatalytic activity than commercial titania photocatalyst Degussa P25 for Rhodamine B(RhB) degradation. Compared with those C-doped titania photocatalysts prepared by other methods, cyanobacteria templated titania photocatalyst offer some potential for competitive advantages. The reported strategy opened up a new use for the cyanobacteria. | 8 | Agronomical selection on loss-of-function of GIGANTEA simultaneously facilitates soybean salt tolerance and early maturity显示文摘Salt stress and flowering time are major factors limiting geographic adaptation and yield productivity in soybean(Glycine max).Although improving crop salt tolerance and latitude adaptation are essential for efficient agricultural production,whether and how these two traits are integrated remains largely unknown.Here,we used a genome-wide association study to identify a major salt-tolerance locus controlled by E2,an ortholog of Arabidopsis thaliana GIGANTEA(GI).Loss of E2 function not only shortened flowering time and maturity,but also enhanced salt-tolerance in soybean.E2 delayed soybean flowering by enhancing the transcription of the core flowering suppressor gene E1,thereby repressing Flowering Locus T(FT)expression.An E2 knockout mutant e2^(CR) displayed reduced accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS)during the response to salt stress by releasing peroxidase,which functions in ROS scavenging to avoid cytotoxicity.Evolutionary and population genetic analyses also suggested that loss-of-function e2 alleles have been artificially selected during breeding for soybean adaptation to high-latitude regions with greater salt stress.Our findings provide insights into the coupled selection for adaptation to both latitude and salt stress in soybean;and offer an ideal target for molecular breeding of early-maturing and salt-tolerant cultivars. | Lidong Dong Zhihong Hou Haiyang Li Zhaobo Li Chao Fang Lingping Kong Yongli Li Hao Du Tai Li Lingshuang Wang Milan He Xiaohui Zhao Qun Cheng Fanjiang Kong Baohui Liu | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,10: | 3 |

| 11 | HPLC and GC methods development for the analysis of key intermediate for synthesis of dicamba显示文摘The microreactor based hydroxylation process of 1,2,4-trichlorobezene for producing 2,5-dichlorphenol,the key intermediate of dicamba,is energy efficient and cost effective.But the 2,5-dicholorphneol is present in a mixed state after production.The reaction mixture contained the main by-product 2,4-dichlorophneol,low-content by-product 3,4-dichlorophneol,and other impurities.The difficulty in separation and analysis limits the application of this process widely.The current work aimed at establishing effective analysis methods by gas chromatography(GC)and high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).The GC method was not able to separate 2,5-dichlorophenol and 2,4-dichlorophenol completely,but the developed HPLC method worked efficiently.The linear correlation coefficients of 2,5-dichlorophenol and 2,4-dichlorophenol were both higher than 0.999,and the average recovery was 100.33% for 2,5-dichlorophenol and 100.13% for 2,4-dichlorophenol,respectively.The relative standard deviations from precision tests were both less than 1%.The contents of 2,5-dichlorophenol and 2,4-dichlorophenol were determined with external standard method.The HPLC method has the advantages of simple operation,good separation efficiency,high accuracy and precision,and was successfully applied for both qualitative and quantitative analysis of 2,5-dichlorophenol and 2,4-dichlorophenol of the sample solution. | Zhenming Zhang He Zhao Xiaohui Wang Weiming Ni Fengsheng Gao Jianrong Wang Minjin Liu Yongli Li | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,5: | 2 |
| 12 | Atmospheric Warming Slowdown during 1998-2013 Associated with Increasing Ocean Heat Content显示文摘Although atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations continuously increased, there was relatively little change in global-averaged surface temperatures from 1998 to 2013, which is known as atmospheric warming slowdown. For further understanding the mechanism involved, we explored the energy redistribution between the atmosphere and ocean in different latitudes and depths by using data analysis as well as simulations of a coupled atmosphere–ocean box model. The results revealed that, compared with observational changes of ocean heat content (OHC) associated with rapid warming, the OHC changes related to warming slowdown are relatively larger in multiple ocean basins, particularly in the deeper layer of the Atlantic. The coupled box model also showed that there is a larger increasing trend of OHC under the warming slowdown scenario than the rapid warming scenario. Particularly, during the warming slowdown period, the heat storage in the deeper ocean increases faster than the ocean heat uptake in the surface ocean. The simulations indicated that the warming patterns under the two scenarios are accompanied by distinct outgoing longwave radiation and atmospheric meridional heat transport, as well as other related processes, thus leading to different characteristics of ocean heat uptake.
