1Differences in thermal effects of moxibustion at Zusanli(ST 36) and Hegu(LI 4) on various facial areas in healthy people显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To study the effects of temperature on different facial areas by suspended moxibustion at two points,Zusanli(ST 36) and Hegu(LI 4),and probe the phenomena underlying self-regulation in the human body after thermal stimulation.METHODS:Thirty healthy volunteers accepted moxibustion over Zusanli(ST 36) and Hegu(LI 4),and the order of moxibustion points was randomly determined.Moxibustion method:suspension of moxibustion over Zusanli(ST 36) and Hegu(LI 4) on both sides was performed using an ignited moxa stick stuck in a support for 20 min.Observation method:An infrared thermal image of the face was taken before and after suspended moxibustion using a CK350 medical infrared thermal imaging instrument.Data analysis:A thermal microscopic section view system(TMTSys) was used to analyze the change in temperature in special facial areas.Statistical analysis was carried out using SPSS 14.0 software.RESULTS:Before moxibustion was suspended,the facial thermal image showed a T-shaped thermal area related to the vascular distribution with even temperature and good symmetry on both sides.Suspended moxibustion over Zusanli(ST 36) have a very significant increase in temperature at the forehead,around the nose,at the corners of the mouth,and at the cheeks and lips(P<0.01).Suspended moxibustion over Hegu(LI 4) also have a significant(P<0.05) increase in temperature around the nose,the corners of the mouth,the cheeks,and lips,where has a new high temperature area was formed(P<0.01).Suspended moxibustion over Hegu(LI 4) raised the temperature at the middle point of the lips more obviously than did Zusanli(ST 36) in the same person,(P<0.05).After 10 min of moxibustion over Zusanli(ST 36) and Hegu(LI 4),the change in temperature in the facial area reached its peak value.CONCLUSIONS:Facial infrared thermography of healthy people revealed a T-shaped thermal area reflecting a physiological thermal area.Moxibustion over Zusanli(ST 36) or Hegu(LI 4) raised the temperature in this facial T-shaped thermal area.Hegu(LI 4) led to the formation of a new thermal area in the lips.The time required for moxibustion to regulate human body temperature was 10 min.Yiling Yang Laixi Ji Gaobo Li Xiufang Deng Peisi Cai Ling Guan 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,3:13
2Infrared thermography and meridian-effect evidence and explanation in Bell's palsy patients treated by moxibustion at the Hegu (LI4) acupoint Overall regulation or a specific target?显示文摘Subjects with Bell's palsy and healthy individuals were treated with moxibustion thermal stimulation on the Hegu (LI4) acupoint; an infrared thermal imaging system was used to observe facial-temperature changes. Bell's palsy patients developed low or high temperatures at the affected side, with poor symmetry. Healthy people showed high temperatures on the forehead, medial angle of the eye, nasal ala and around the lips, but low temperatures on bilateral cheeks, thus forming a 'T-type hot area' in the face, with good temperature symmetry. Moxibustion treatment for 11 minutes significantly improved high asymmetry in temperature in the faces of Bell's palsy patients. This evidence indicates that moxibustion treatment on Hegu enables increases in facial temperatures in healthy people and Bell's palsy patients, especially around the lips. 3Chromosome analysis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma cell line KYSE 410-4 by repetitive multicolor fluorescence in situ hybridization显示文摘Chromosome aberrations are distinctive features of human malignant tumors. Analysis of chromosomal changes can illuminate the molecular mechanisms underlying the development and progression of cancer. To establish the technique of multicolor fluorescence in situ hybridization (M-FISH) for identifying chromosome aberrations in esophageal carcinoma cell line KYSE 410-4, four pools of 6-color whole-chromosome painting probes have been designed and hybridized on the same metaphase spread by four rounds of repetitive FISH. Repetitive 6-color M-FISH was successfully established and the cytogenetic abnormalities in KYSE 410-4 cells were characterized. Chromosome gains occurred at 2q, 3, 8, 17p, and X. An isochromosome 3q was visualized in the cell line, which might be one intermedi- ate mechanism leading to 3p losses and/or 3q gains. Furthermore, 16 structural arrangements were detected, including four derivative chromosomes. The rearrangement of the centromeric regions accounted for approximately 44% of all rearrangements. The results added a more complete and accurate information of the genetic alterations to the classical cytogenetic description of KYSE 410-4 and provided a detailed cytogenetic background data for appropriate use of the cell line. 4Influence of CeO_2 and La_2O_3 on properties of palladium catalysts used for emission control of natural gas vehicles显示文摘Pd/YZ-Al2O3(Y and Zr modified Al2O3,and hereafter,labelled as Al) catalysts with 4 wt% additive CeO2 and/or La2O3 were prepared and characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) ,NO-temperature programmed desorption(NO-TPD) ,N 2-adsorption/desorption(Brunauer-Emmet-Teller BET method) ,X-ray diffraction(XRD) and CO-chemisorption. Catalytic activities for CH 4,CO and NO conversion were tested in a gas mixture simulated the emissions from natural gas vehicles(NGVs) operated under stoichiometric conditions. The results indicated that all catalysts exhibited excellent catalytic performances for CH 4 and CO oxidation and the promoting effect of CeO2 or La2O3 was significant for NO conversion. XPS results showed that the electron density around Pd was increased by CeO2 and/or La2O3,the binding energy of Pd 3d decreased as the order:Pd/Al > Pd/Ce/Al > Pd/La/Al > Pd/CeLa/Al. The electron-rich Pd showed Rh-like catalytic properties which exhibited good activity for the reduction of NO. 5Morphological, mechanical and thermal properties of cyanate ester/benzoxazine resin composites reinforced by silane treated natural hemp fibers显示文摘This present study deals with the reinforcement of thermosetting resin blends composed of cyanate ester(CE) and benzoxazine(BOZ) resins with natural hemp fibers(NHFs). These NHFs were initially treated by using a silane coupling agent(SCA) in order to chiefly enhance their distributions as well as adhesions within the CE/BOZ resin matrix,then incorporated with various weight amounts ranging from 5 wt% to 20 wt% with a regular interval of 5 wt%. The obtained results showed that at the maximum treated fiber loading(20 wt%), distinctive enhancements in the mechanical properties in terms of flexural strength and microhardness were obtained. Besides, the thermal stability and glass transition temperature(Tg) were appreciably enhanced and were higher than those of the pure CE/BOZ resin properties. With respect to the astonishing properties of the NHFs, these enhancements could be possibly due to the good dispersion and adhesion of the treated NHFs inside the CE/BOZ resin achieved upon using the SCA. 6Safety of endovascular therapy for symptomatic intracranial artery stenosis:a national prospective registry显示文摘Introduction The safety outcomes of endovascular therapy for intracranial artery stenosis in a real-world stetting are largely unknown.The Clinical Registration Trial of Intracranial Stenting for Patients with Symptomatic Intracranial Artery Stenosis(CRTICAS)was a prospective,multicentre,real-world registry designed to assess these outcomes and the impact of centre experience.Methods 1140 severe,symptomatic intracranial arterial stenosis(ICAS)patients treated with endovascular therapy were included from 26 centres,further divided into three groups according to the annual centre volume of intracranial angioplasty and stent placement procedures over 2 years:(1)high volume for≥25 cases/year;(2)moderate volume for 10–25 cases/year and(3)low volume for<10 cases/year.Results The rate of 30-day stroke,transient ischaemic attack or death was 9.7%(111),with 5.4%,21.1%and 9.7%in high-volume,moderate-volume and low-volume centres,respectively(p<0.05).Multivariable logistic regression confirmed high-volume centres had a significantly lower primary endpoint compared with moderate-volume centres(OR=0.187,95%CI:0.056 to 0.627;p≤0.0001),while moderate-volume and low-volume centres showed no significant difference(p=0.8456).Conclusion Compared with the preceding randomised controlled trials,this real-world,prospective,multicentre registry shows a lower complication rate of endovascular treatment for symptomatic ICAS.Non-uniform utilisation in endovascular technology,institutional experience and patient selection in different volumes of centres may have an impact on overall safety of this treatment.Yabing Wang Tao Wang Adam Andrew Dmytriw Kun Yang Liqun Jiao Huaizhang Shi Jie Lu Tianxiao Li Yujie Huang Zhenwei Zhao Wei Wu Jieqing Wan Qinjian Sun Bo Hong Yongli Li Liyong Zhang Jianfeng Chu Qiong Cheng Yiling Cai Pengfei Wang Qi Luo Hua Yang Baijing Dong Yang Zhang Jun Zhao Zuoquan Chen Wei Li Xiaoxin Bai Weiwen He Xueli Cai Maimai Ti Osama O Zaidat 2022Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,2:3
7Segmental Translocation Contributed to the Origin of the Brassica S-locus显示文摘Self-incompatibility(SI),which has recurred during the evolution of plants,is one of the most important cross-pollination mating systems.Three S-loci have been reported in Brassicaceae,namely,Arabidopsis lyrata(Al),Brassica(Br),and Leavenworthia alabamica(La)S-loci.Here,through multi-genomic comparative analysis of 20 species,we revealed that the most ancient S-locus was formed prior to the divergence of Brassicaceae lineage I and II.Itwas retained and inherited by Arabidopsis,as the Al S-locus in Brassicaceae lineage I.Furthermore,we found that the Br S-locus,which has been widely used in the breeding of Brassica crops to generate hybrid seeds,was formed through segmental translocation(ST)in the hexaploid ancestor of Brassica in Brassicaceae lineage II.The Br S-locus was evolved through a ST from one of the triplicated ancestral S-locus paralogs in the Brassica hexaploidy ancestor,while the other two S-locus paralogs were lost.Together with the previous discovery that the La S-locus was formed through a secondary origin in Brassicaceae lineage I,we conclude the monophyletic origin of Al and Br S-loci and clarify the evolutionary route of S-loci in the Brassicaceae family.Our findings will contribute to evolutionary studies and breeding applications of the S-locus in Brassicaceae.Yinan Cui Mu Zhuang Jian Wu Jisheng Liu Yiyue Zhang Lingkui Zhang Yile Huang Xu Cai Jianli Liang Kang Zhang Xiaowu Wang Feng Cheng 2020Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,3:2
8Heterogeneities at multiple length scales in 2D layered materials:From localized defects and dopants to mesoscopic heterostructures显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)materials hold great promise for applications in optoelectronics,quantum information science,and energy conversion due to their remarkable properties imbued by their physical characteristics.Although heterogeneities in their intrinsic structure are the major challenges limiting their synthesis and predictable properties,they also provide a pathway to controllably tune the properties and broaden the potential of 2D materials.Heterogeneities that can be tailored,including defects,dopants,strain,edges,and layer stackings offer transformative opportunities in heterogeneous 2D materials through the introduction of novel properties for technological applications.This article provides a review of recent progress in studying heterogeneities in 2D materials.The review uses examples from our work to develop a strategy to understand the heterogeneities across multiple length scales to link the effect of heterogeneity at the nanoscale with the macroscale properties of 2D materials.We describe specific types of heterogeneities and explore novel synthesis and processing methods for their controlled production with example of the potential impact and applications enabled by their intriguing properties.Finally,we provide a perspective on how to extend the range of tunable properties through further engineering the heterogeneities in 2D materials.Hui Cai Yiling Yu Yu-Chuan Lin Alexander A.Puretzky David B.Geohegan Kai Xiao 2021Nano Research2021,14,6:2
9Pervasive hybridization during evolutionary radiation of Rhododendron subgenus Hymenanthes in mountains of southwest China显示文摘Radiations are especially important for generating species biodiversity in mountainous ecosystems.The contribution of hybridization to such radiations has rarely been examined.Here,we use extensive genomic data to test whether hybridization was involved in evolutionary radiation within Rhododendron subgenus Hymenanthes,whose members show strong geographic isolation in the mountains of southwest China.We sequenced genomes for 143 species of this subgenus and 93 species of four other subgenera,and found that Hymenanthes was monophyletic and radiated during the late Oligocene to middle Miocene.Widespread hybridization events were inferred within and between the identified clades and subclades.This suggests that hybridization occurred both early and late during diversification of subgenus Hymenan thes,although the extent to which hybridization,speciation through mixing-isolation-mixing or hybrid speciation,accelerated the diversification needs further exploration.Cycles of isolation and contact in such and other montane ecosystems may have together promoted species radiation through hybridization between diverging populations and species.Similar radiation processes may apply to other montane floras in this region and elsewhere.Yazhen Ma Xingxing Mao Ji Wang Lei Zhang Yuanzhong Jiang Yuying Geng Tao Ma Liming Cai Shuangquan Huang Pete Hollingsworth Kangshan Mao Minghui Kang Yiling Li Wenlu Yang Haolin Wu Yang Chen Charles C.Davis Nawal Shrestha Richard H.Ree Zhenxiang Xi Quanjun Hu Richard I.Milne Jianquan Liu 2022National Science Review2022,9,12:1
10Extraordinary thermal conductivity of polyvinyl alcohol composite by aligning densified carbon fiber via magnetic field显示文摘Thermal interface materials(TIMs)with high through-plane thermal conductivity are urgently desired to avoid overheating of high-power density electronics.Introducing and aligning fillers in polymer matrixes via magnetic field is a promising method to improve the thermal conductivity of the polymer.However,either the fillers need to be modified with magnetic particles or a strong magnetic field is needed for good alignment in high filler content.This prevents further improvement of the through-plane thermal conductivity.Herein,mesophase pitch-based carbon fibers(MPCFs)with a content as high as 76 wt.%are aligned vertically in water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)under a low magnetic field(~0.4 T),forming a vertically aligned MPCF(VAMPCF)/PVA composite with an extraordinary through-plane thermal conductivity of 86 W/(m·K),which is higher than that of many alloys.In addition,both theoretical and experimental results demonstrate that the critical intensity of the magnetic field needed for good alignment of the fillers depends on their size and magnetic susceptibility.Furthermore,the water solubility of PVA makes it easy to recycle MPCFs.This study offers an inspired venue to develop excellent and eco-friendly TIMs to meet ever increasing demand in heat dissipation for electronics.Xiaoxiao Guo Shujian Cheng Bo Yan Yile Li Yinghui Zhou Weiwei Cai Yufeng Zhang Xue-ao Zhang 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:1

13Anticoagulation effect of low-dose and low-intensity heparin applied within 24 hours after intravenous thrombolysis for acute cerebral infarction显示文摘BACKGROUND:Studies have demonstrated that immediate anticoagulation after thrombolysis can improve the prognosis of patients with acute cerebral infarction. However,the optimal timing and means of anticoagulation therapy remain unclear. OBJECTIVE:To observe the effects and safety of heparin treatment within 24 hours after intravenous thrombolysis for acute cerebral infarction. DESIGN:Observation experiment. SETTING:Department of Neurology,the 306 Hospital of Chinese PLA. PARTICIPANTS:Fifteen acute cerebral infarction patients complicated by moderate and severe neurologic function deficits within 6 hours after attack admitted to Department of Neurology,the 306 Hospital of Chinese PLA between January 2005 and December 2006 were recruited in this study. The involved patients,11 male and 4 female,were aged 46-79 years. They all met the diagnosis criteria for various cerebrovascular diseases formulated by the 4th National Conference for Cerebrovascular Disease(1995) and confirmed as cerebral infarction by skull CT or MRI imageology. Informed consents were obtained from the patients or their relatives. METHODS:On admission,patients received thrombolysis with urokinase. Immediately after thrombolysis,skull CT was rechecked. Intracranial hemorrhage signs were not found by skull CT. Hemorrhage was also not found in skin,mucous membrane and internal organs. Six hours later,low-dose low-intensity heparin 4-8 IU/kg per hour was intravenously administrated for anticoagulation for 7-10 days successively. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Neurologic function was evaluated before,immediately 6 hours and 14 days after thrombolysis by scoring standard of clinical neurologic function deficit degree for stroke patients(1995). Activities of daily living of patients with stroke were evaluated 90 days after thrombolysis by modified Rankin Scale. RESULTS:Fifteen involved patients participated in the final analysis. ① Comparison of clinical neurologic function deficit degree of patients at different time:Neurologic function deficit score at the end of thrombolysis was significantly lower than that before thrombolysis(t =3.45,P < 0.01). Neurologic function deficit score 6 hours after thrombolysis was higher than that at the end of thrombolysis,and neurologic deficits were increased,but no significant difference was found(P > 0.05). Neurologic function deficit score 14 days after thrombolysis was significantly lower than that before thrombolysis(t =4.769,P < 0.01). ② Therapeutic effect and modified Rankin scale results:14 days after thrombolysis,4 patients were basically cured,7 significantly improved,2 improved and 2 worsened. The total improvement rate of neurologic function deficit was 86.7%. Ninety days after thrombolysis,according to modified Rankin Scale,score was 0 to 2 in 12 patients(80%),3 to 4 in 2 patients(13.3%) and 6 in 1 patient(6.7%). Complications of intracranial hemorrhage were not found in patients within 14 days after thrombolysis. 15Selected aptamer specially combing 5-8F cells based on automatic screening instrument显示文摘Since the concept of aptamer emerged,many scientists have launched a rich field of research around it.However,few nucleic acids aptamer which use cell as target can be put into practical applications.We believe that a great deal of this lies in the complexity and irreproducibility of aptamer screening experiments themselves.The complexity is due to the cumbersome processes and the technical requirements for laboratory personnel,whereas irreproducibility arises from the fact that the starting point of such screens is nucleic acid libraries with random fragments,and that different libraries directly determine the differences or even the success or failure of screening results.The complexity and irreproducibility mentioned above,in turn,lead to the inability of this experiment to unfold on a large scale,which naturally cannot lead to excellent results for practical applications.In response to this problem,our group has developed an instrument for automated screening of tumor cell nucleic acid aptamers and characterized the properties of nucleic acid aptamers obtained using this instrument in a comprehensive manner.Zhukang Guo Baijiang Jin Yile Fang Yan Deng Zhu Chen Hui Chen Song Li Franklin Wang-Ngan Chow Polly H.M.Leung Hanming Wang Lei Cai Nongyue He 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,9:0
