1Pediatric reference intervals in China(PRINCE):design and rationale for a large,multicenter collaborative cross-sectional study显示文摘There is a lack of accurate pediatric reference intervals(RIs) in China, with most commonly used RIs established without consideration of the effect of age and gender. The Pediatric Reference Intervals in China(PRINCE) project aims to establish and verify pediatric RIs for 31 common laboratory measurands.The project will be a large, multicenter cross-sectional study:14,490 healthy children and adolescents aged up to 19 years will be surveyed by 10 children's hospitals and one pediatric department of a university hospital. To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of the study methods, 602 children were surveyed in the pilot phase of the PRINCE study in April 2017: it found that some measurands were distinctly age dependent and that there were differences between values for males and females. The results of the pilot study affirmed the necessity of the PRINCE project for Chinese pediatrics. The pilot also indicated potential difficulties in the full survey, e.g., difficulties in recruiting children aged under 3 years and insufficient collection of blood samples from infants. 5Controlled growth and photoconductive properties of hexagonal SnS2 nanoflakes with mesa-shaped atomic steps显示文摘We demonstrated the controlled growth of two-dimensional (2D) hexagonal tin disulfide (SnS2) nanoflakes with stacked monolayer atomic steps. The morphology was similar to flat-topped and step-sided mesa plateaus or step pyramids. The SnS2 nanoflakes were grown on mica substrates via an atmospheric-pressure chemical vapor deposition process using tin monosulfide and sulfur powder as precursors. Atomic force microscopy (AFM), electron microscopy, and Raman characterizations were performed to investigate the structural features, and a sequential layer-wise epitaxial growth mechanism was revealed. In addition, systematic Raman characterizations were performed on individual SnS2 nanoflakes with a wide range of thicknesses (1-100 nm), indicating that the A1g peak intensity and Raman shifts were closely related to the thickness of the SnS2 nanoflakes. Moreover, photoconductive AFM was performed on the monolayer-stepped SnS2 nanoflakes, revealing that the flat surface and the edges of the SnS2 atomic steps had different electrical conductive properties and photoconductive behaviors. This is ascribed to the dangling bonds and defects at the atomic step edges, which caused a height difference of the Schottky barriers formed at the interfaces between the PtIr-coated AFM tip and the step edges or the flat surface of the SnS2 nanoflakes. 7ClC-3 chloride channel in hippocampal neuronal apoptosis显示文摘Over-production of nitric oxide is pathogenic for neuronal apoptosis around the ischemic area following ischemic brain injury.In this study,an apoptotic model in rat hippocampal neurons was established by 0.5 mmol/L 3-morpholinosyndnomine(SIN-1),a nitric oxide donor.The models were then cultured with 0.1 mmol/L of 4,4'-diisothiocyanostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid(DIDS;the chloride channel blocker) for 18 hours.Neuronal survival was detected using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol- 2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT) assay,and apoptosis was assayed by Hoechst 33342-labeled neuronal DNA fluorescence staining.Western blot analysis and immunochemiluminescence staining were applied to determine the changes of activated caspase-3 and CIC-3 channel proteins.Real-time PCR was used to detect the mRNA expression of CIC-3.The results showed that SIN-1 reduced the neuronal survival rate,induced neuronal apoptosis,and promoted ClC-3 chloride channel protein and mRNA expression in the apoptotic neurons.DIDS reversed the effect of SIN-1.Our findings indicate that the increased activities of the ClC-3 chloride channel may be involved in hippocampal neuronal apoptosis induced by nitric oxide.Lijuan Xu Shuling Zhang Hongling Fan Zhichao Zhong Xi Li Xiaoxiao Jin Quanzhong Chang 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,32:3

13Transcriptome and metabolome analysis reveal that oral secretions from Helicoverpa armigera and Spodoptera litura influence wound-induced host response in cotton显示文摘Cotton(Gossypium hirsutum)is an important fiber crop worldwide.Insect attack causes cotton yield and quality losses.However,little is known about the mechanism of cotton response to insect attack.We simulated insect feeding by applying insect oral secretions(OS)to wounds,and combined transcriptome and metabolome analysis to investigate how OS from two major pest species(Helicoverpa armigera and Spodoptera litura)affect cotton defense responses.We found that respectively 12,668 and 13,379 genes were differentially expressed in comparison with wounding alone.On addition of OS,the jasmonic acid signaling pathway was rapidly and strongly induced,whereas genes involved in salicylic acid biosynthesis were downregulated.On constructing a coexpression gene network,we identified a hub gene encoding a leucine-rich repeat receptor kinase that may play an important role in early signal recognition and transduction.OS from the two insect species altered the abundance of flavonoid-related compounds in different patterns.Gossypol remained in lower concentration after OS application than after wounding alone,suggesting a suppressive effect of OS on cotton defense response.This study illustrated transcriptional and metabolic changes of cotton in responding to OS from two chewing insect species,identified potential key response genes,and revealed evidence for OS inhibition of wounding-induced cotton defense response.Huan Si Hongling Liu Yiwen Sun Zhongping Xu Sijia Liang Bo Li Xiao Ding Jianying Li Qiongqiong Wang Lin Sun Xianlong Zhang Shuangxia Jin 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,6:1

18Investigation of the pin-roller metering device and tube effect for wheat seeds and granular fertilizers based on DEM显示文摘The metering device is the central part of the seeder discharging granular fertilizers or seeds from the hopper to the colter passing through the tube.Depending on the metering device design,the batches of particles are discharged or discharged evenly.This research analyzes existing metering devices,and a new pin-roller metering device is recommended to discharge evenly high doses of granular fertilizers and wheat seeds at low rotation speeds.The objective was to adapt the metering device to precision agriculture so that a little electric motor containing gearbox drives every metering device.Therefore,the pin-roller metering device parameters were investigated to apply high doses of granular fertilizers and wheat seeds evenly.The optimal pin positions were determined according to response surface methods(RSM)by simulating the granular fertilizers and wheat seeds'behavior on DEM.The coefficient of variation(CV)and the slip rate(SR)of the particles between the pins were chosen as indicators for evaluating the pin-roller.The shape of the pin was specified,and then the number of lines,the number of pins in a line,and the pin height were chosen to optimize.The analysis of the simulation results shows the optimal parameters:the number of pins in a line is four,and the number of lines is sixteen.The SR of granular fertilizers and wheat seeds were 8%and 2%,respectively.The pin-roller metering device is compared with the six-grooved and twelve-grooved metering devices.The comparison results show that the pin-roller metering device distributes twice more uniformly than other metering devices.The CV of the granular fertilizer distribution for six-grooved,twelve-grooved,and pin-roller metering devices was 111.13%,80.74%,and 37%,respectively.The CV of the wheat seed distribution for twelve-grooved and pin-roller metering devices was 96%,and 37%,respectively.As long as the particles interact with the tube,leaving the metering device,the effect of tube type and position is investigated.As a result,it was determined that the tube has minimal effect on the pin-roller metering device while positively impacting the six-grooved and twelve-grooved metering devices,improving the CV of the particle distribution into the soil.Sugirbay Adilet Kaiyuan Zhao Guangyao Liu Nukeshev Sayakhat Jun Chen Guangrui Hu Lingxin Bu Yu Chen Hongling Jin Shuo Zhang Zagainov Nikolay Muratkhan Marat 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,2:0
