2Mesozoic contraction deformation in the Yanshan and northern Taihang mountains and its implications to the destruction of the North China Craton显示文摘Mesozoic contraction deformation in the Yanshan and Taihang mountains is characterized by basement-involved thrust tectonics,basement-cored buckling anticlines and ductile thrust and nappe tectonics.Most of these deformations are orientated west-east,west-northwest and northeast to north-northeast.The contraction deformations began in the Permian,continued through the Triassic and Jurassic and terminated in the Early Cretaceous,and constitute an important part of the destruction of the North China Craton.It is estimated,from balanced cross-section reconstructions,that the north-south shortening of the central part of the Yanshan belt before 135 Ma was around 38%.The initial crust thickness,pre-dating the major contraction deformation in late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic,was estimated to be around 35 km based on paleogeographic characteristics.Assuming that the inferred depth of ductile thrusting deformation,20-25 km,was the crust thickness involved in the contraction deformation,and also assuming that the N-S contraction deformation was accommodated by vertical crust thickening,the thickness of the crust after the contraction deformation was expected to be around 47-50 km.This was the approximate crust thickness required for the eclogitization of the lower crust for delamination.The gravity potential accumulated by the isostatic uplift of the thickened crust,together with the decrease in crustal strength caused by the coeval magmatisms associated with the contraction deformation,led to the subsequent extensional collapse of the middle and upper crust although the regional stress regime associated with the plate interactions remained constant.It is inferred that the Mesozoic contraction deformations in the Yanshan and Taihang mountains were not only a significant tectonic process contributing to the destruction of the craton in middle and upper crust but also stimulated delamination at a deep level and the extension of the shallow crust.In other words,both the suspected delamination of the lower crust and upper mantle and the well constrained extension deformations of the shallow crust in the eastern North China Craton during the late Mesozoic are a consequence of crust thickening due to previous contractions.Extensional deformations could be expected to occur independently in the shallow crust,and are not necessarily associated with or responding to delamination at a deep level.ZHANG ChangHou LI ChengMing DENG HongLing LIU Yang LIU Lei WEI Bo LI HanBin LIU Zi 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,6:40
3An emerging hemorrhagic fever in China caused by a novel bunyavirus SFTSV显示文摘Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS) is an emerging hemorrhagic fever in rural areas of China and is caused by a new bunyavirus,SFTSV,named after the disease.The transmission vectors and animal hosts of SFTSV are unclear.Ticks are the most likely transmission vectors and domestic animals,including goats,dogs,and cattle,are potential amplifying hosts of SFTSV.The clinical symptoms of SFTS are nonspecific,but major symptoms include fever,gastrointestinal symptoms,myalgia,dizziness,joint pain,chills,and regional lymphadenopathy.The most common abnormalities in laboratory test results are thrombocytopenia(95%),leukocytopenia(86%),and elevated levels of serum alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,creatine kinase,and lactate dehydrogenase.The fatality rate for SFTS is 12% on average,and the annual incidence of the disease is approximately five per 100000 of the rural population.ZHANG XiaoShuang LIU Yan ZHAO Li LI Bing YU Hao WEN HongLing YU Xue-Jie 2013Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,8:28
4IL-23-induced macrophage polarization and its pathological roles in mice with imiquimod-induced psoriasis显示文摘Macrophages acquire distinct phenotypes during tissue stress and inflammatory responses.Macrophages are roughly categorized into two different subsets named inflammatory M1 and anti-inflammatory M2 macrophages.We herein identified a unique pathogenic macrophage subpopulation driven by IL-23 with a distinct gene expression profile including defined types of cytokines.The freshly isolated resting mouse peritoneal macrophages were stimulated with different cytokines in vitro,the expression of cytokines and chemokines were detected by microarray,real-time PCR,ELISA and multiple colors flow cytometry.Adoptive transfer of macrophages and imiquimod-induced psoriasis mice were used.In contrast to M1-and M2-polarized macrophages,IL-23-treated macrophages produce large amounts of IL-17A,IL-22and IFN-γ.Biochemical and molecular studies showed that IL-23 induces IL-17A expression in macrophages through the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)-retinoid related orphan receptor-γ T (RORyT)pathway.T-bet mediates the IFN-γ production in IL-23-treated macrophages.Importantly,IL-23-treated macrophages signifi- cantly promote the dermatitis pathogenesis in a psoriasis-like mouse model.IL-23-treated resting macrophages express a distinctive gene expression prolife compared with M1 and M2 macrophages.The identification of IL-23-induced macrophage polarization may help us to understand the contribution of macrophage subpopulation in Th17-cytokines-related pathogenesis.Yuzhu Hou Linnan Zhu Hongling Tian Hai-Xi Sun Ruoyu Wang Lianfeng Zhang Yong Zhao 2018Protein & Cell2018,9,12:16
5Pediatric reference intervals in China(PRINCE):design and rationale for a large,multicenter collaborative cross-sectional study显示文摘There is a lack of accurate pediatric reference intervals(RIs) in China, with most commonly used RIs established without consideration of the effect of age and gender. The Pediatric Reference Intervals in China(PRINCE) project aims to establish and verify pediatric RIs for 31 common laboratory measurands.The project will be a large, multicenter cross-sectional study:14,490 healthy children and adolescents aged up to 19 years will be surveyed by 10 children's hospitals and one pediatric department of a university hospital. To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of the study methods, 602 children were surveyed in the pilot phase of the PRINCE study in April 2017: it found that some measurands were distinctly age dependent and that there were differences between values for males and females. The results of the pilot study affirmed the necessity of the PRINCE project for Chinese pediatrics. The pilot also indicated potential difficulties in the full survey, e.g., difficulties in recruiting children aged under 3 years and insufficient collection of blood samples from infants. 6Identification and Typing of Respiratory Adenoviruses in Guangzhou, Southern China Using a Rapid and Simple Method显示文摘Human adenoviruses (HAdVs), especially HAdV-B3, -E4 and -B7, are associated with Acute Respiratory Disease in Chinese children, and occasionally in adults. In order to establish and document the profiles of the respiratory adenovirus pathogen among children in Guangzhou, Southern China, a rapid, simple and practical method for identification and typing of respiratory adenoviruses was developed and evaluated. One pair of universal PCR primers was designed according to the conserved region of the hexon gene, which can detect not only HAdV-B3, -E4 and -B7, but also HAdV-B14, -F40 and -F41, with a specific 300bp PCR product. Three pairs of type-specific PCR primers were also designed according to the hypervariable regions of the hexon gene to type HAdV-B3, -E4 and -B7 by three independent PCR reactions, making it easy to optimize the PCR conditions. By using this method, one hundred throat swab specimens collected during Oct 2010 to Dec 2011 and suspected of being positive for adenoviral infection were identified and typed for adenoviruses. Of these samples, fifty-five were adenovirus-positive. The most common HAdV type was HAdV-B3, identified in 92.7% of samples, which is not only consistent with the data reported in 2004-2006, but also consistent with the recent report in Hangzhou, eastern China, indicating that HAdV-B3 has been circulating in Guangzhou, and maybe in eastern China, for many years. 7Chemical comparison of dried rehmannia root and prepared rehmannia root by UPLC-TOF MS and HPLC-ELSD with multivariate statistical analysis显示文摘To identify the chemical differences which lead to the different therapeutic effects of dried rehmannia root(DRR)and prepared rehmannia root(PRR),we compared the chemical composition of decoctions of randomly purchased DRR and PRR using ultra performance liquid chromatography(UPLC)coupled with time-of-fight mass spectrometry and high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)coupled with evaporative light scattering detection(ELSD)with the aid of multivariate statistical analysis.Both approaches clearly revealed compositional and quantitative differences between DRR and PRR.UPLC-MS data indicated stachyose,rehmaiono-side A(or rehmaionoside B),acteoside(or forsythiaside,or isoacteoside),6-O-coumaroylajugol(or 6-O-E-feruloylajugol,or 6-O-Z-feruloylajugol)as important discriminators between DRR and PRR decoctions.HPLC-ELSD analysis showed that the content of fructose in the decoctions of PRR was about four times greater than that of DRR(P<10^(-5)),while sucrose content in the decoctions of PRR was only about one seventh of that in DRR(P<0.01).Our results suggest that some compounds,such as fructose,stachyose and rehmaionoside,may be responsible for the differing therapeutic effects of DRR and PRR.Furthermore,improvements in quality control for PRR,which is currently lacking in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia,are recommended.Qiande Liang Jing Ma Zengchun Ma Yuguang Wang Hongling Tan Chengrong Xiao Ming Liu Beibei Lu Boli Zhang Yue Gao 2013Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2013,3,1:8

10Probabilistic ecological risk assessment for three chlorophenols in surface waters of China显示文摘Individual and combined assessment of risks of adverse effects to aquatic ecosystems of three chlorophenols(CPs),including 2,4dichlorophenol(2,4-DCP),2,4,6-trichlorophenol(2,4,6-TCP) and pentachlorophenol(PCP),were conducted.A probabilistic approach based on the concentrations of CPs in surface waters of China was used to determine the likelihood of adverse effects.The potential risk of CPs in surface waters of China was determined to be of concern,especially PCP and mixtures of CPs.The risks of adverse effects were examined as the joint probabilities of exposure and response.The joint probability for PCP was 0.271 in the worst case and 0.111 in the median case,respectively.Based on the cumulative probability,5% of aquatic organisms included in the assessment would be affected 21.36% of the time in the worst case and 5.99% of the time in median case,respectively.For the mixtures of CPs,the joint probability were 0.171 in the worst case and 0.503 in median case,respectively and 5% of species would be affected 49.83% of the time for the worst case and 12.72% in the median case,respectively.Risks of effects of the individual CPs,2,4-DCP and 2,4,6-TCP were deemed to be acceptable with a overlapping probability of < 0.1 with 5% of species being affected less than 4% of the time.Liqun Xing Hongling Liu John E Giesy Xiaowei Zhang Hongxia Yu 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,2:7

12Spaceflight and simulated microgravity suppresses macrophage development via altered RAS/ERK/NFκB and metabolic pathways显示文摘Spaceflight-associated immune system weakening ultimately limits the ability of humans to expand their presence beyond the earth's orbit. A mechanistic study of microgravity-regulated immune cell function is necessary to overcome this challenge. Here, we demonstrate that both spaceflight (real) and simulated microgravity significantly reduce macrophage differentiation, decrease macrophage quantity and functional polarization, and lead to metabolic reprogramming, as demonstrated by changes in gene expression profiles. Moreover, we identified RAS/ERK/NFκB as a major microgravity-regulated pathway. Exogenous ERK and NFκB activators significantly counteracted the effect of microgravity on macrophage differentiation. In addition, microgravity also affects the p53 pathway, which we verified by RT-qPCR and Western blot. 15Research on Mechanisms of Steam Breakthrough and Profile Control Design for Steam Soaking Well显示文摘Scaled physical model tests for steam breakthrough were conducted based on the analysis of mechanisms and influence factors of steam breakthrough. Physical simulation results showed that at the initial steam breakthrough, preferential flow channels were formed in narrow sand packs and most residual oil left in these channels was immobile. This shortened the steam breakthrough time of follow-up steam flooding and decreased the increment of oil recovery efficiency. Steam breakthrough occurred easily for a smaller producer-injector spacing, and a bigger difference in physical properties between fluids and rock. Steam breakthrough is more likely to occur at a larger formation permeability (k), greater steam displacement velocity (u) and smaller producer-injector spacing (L). Steam breakthrough time is a function of the parameter group (uk/L), i.e. tb=3.2151 (uk/L) -0.5142. A non piston-like displacement model was built based on steam breakthrough observation for a steam stimulated well in the Jinglou Oilfield, Henan Oilfield Company. The steam volume swept in different directions could be obtained from inter-well permeability capacity and breakthrough angle, and the steam swept pore volume (SSPV) was also determined. Numerical simulation showed that steam sweep efficiency reached its peak value when a slug of profile control agent (slug size 10%-15% SSPV) was set at one half of the inter-well spacing. 17Comparison of thermal and light performance in two typical Chinese solar greenhouses in Beijing显示文摘Solar greenhouses have been used for producing vegetables in northern China during early spring,late autumn or over-winter.To improve the thermal performance of solar greenhouses,a traditional type and a retrofitted design were comparatively evaluated.In the retrofitted design,three adjustments were incorporated:the material and structure of the walls,south-facing roof angle,and structure of the north-facing back-roof.The results indicated that the thermal and light performance of the retrofitted greenhouse was much better than that of the traditional greenhouse.Specifically,the daily mean temperature,minimum air temperature,and soil temperature inside the greenhouses after retrofit ting were increased by 1.3,2.4,and 1.9℃,respectively,meanwhile,the daily total solar radiation and PAR were increased by 28.2%and 9.2%,respectively.The wall temperature and its daily variation range were reduced with increasing depth and height.The characteristic analysis of heat storage and release indicated that higher locations have longer heat storage,and shorter heat release time in vertical direction,as well as a lower ratio of heat release to storage.In horizontal direction,the western wall has the shortest heat storage time but the highest heat release flux density.Altogether,the heat storage time of the wall is 1.5 h less than that of the soil.The heat storage flux density of the wall is 1.5 times of that of the soil,but the heat release flux is only 61%of the soil’s value.The total wall heat storage is half of that of the soil in the greenhouse;the total wall heat release amount is only a quarter of that of the soil.Therefore,the thermal environment of solar greenhouses can be further improved by improving the thermal insulation properties of the wall.Fan Xu Chao Shang Hongling Li Xuzhang Xue Weituo Sun Hong Chen Yinkun Li Zhenhe Zhang Xinxu Li Wenzhong Guo 2019International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,1:4

19PG-CODE:Latent Dirichlet Allocation Embedded Policy Knowledge Graph for Government Department Coordination显示文摘Government policy-group integration and policy-chain inference are significant to the execution of strategies in current Chinese society.Specifically,the coordination of hierarchical policies implemented among government departments is one of the key challenges to rural revitalization.In recent years,various well-established quantitative methods have been proposed to evaluate policy coordination,but the majority of these relied on manual analysis,which can lead to subjective results.Thus,in this paper,a novel approach called“policy knowledge graph for the coordination among the government departments”(PG-CODE)is proposed,which incorporates topic modeling into policy knowledge graphs.Similar to a knowledge graph,a policy knowledge graph uses a graph-structured data model to integrate policy discourse.With latent Dirichlet allocation embedding,a policy knowledge graph could capture the underlying topics of the policies.Furthermore,coordination strength and topic diffusion among hierarchical departments could be inferred from the PG-CODE,as it can provide a better representation of coordination within the policy space.We implemented and evaluated the PG-CODE in the field of rural innovation and entrepreneurship policy,and the results effectively demonstrate improved coordination among departments.Yilin Kang Renwei Ou Yi Zhang Hongling Li Shasha Tian 2022Tsinghua Science and Technology2022,27,4:3
20ClC-3 chloride channel in hippocampal neuronal apoptosis显示文摘Over-production of nitric oxide is pathogenic for neuronal apoptosis around the ischemic area following ischemic brain injury.In this study,an apoptotic model in rat hippocampal neurons was established by 0.5 mmol/L 3-morpholinosyndnomine(SIN-1),a nitric oxide donor.The models were then cultured with 0.1 mmol/L of 4,4'-diisothiocyanostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid(DIDS;the chloride channel blocker) for 18 hours.Neuronal survival was detected using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol- 2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT) assay,and apoptosis was assayed by Hoechst 33342-labeled neuronal DNA fluorescence staining.Western blot analysis and immunochemiluminescence staining were applied to determine the changes of activated caspase-3 and CIC-3 channel proteins.Real-time PCR was used to detect the mRNA expression of CIC-3.The results showed that SIN-1 reduced the neuronal survival rate,induced neuronal apoptosis,and promoted ClC-3 chloride channel protein and mRNA expression in the apoptotic neurons.DIDS reversed the effect of SIN-1.Our findings indicate that the increased activities of the ClC-3 chloride channel may be involved in hippocampal neuronal apoptosis induced by nitric oxide.Lijuan Xu Shuling Zhang Hongling Fan Zhichao Zhong Xi Li Xiaoxiao Jin Quanzhong Chang 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,32:3
