Isolation and identification of Starmerella davenportii strain Do18 and its application in black tea beverage fermentation显示文摘The objective of this study was to isolate and identify a yeast strain from the kombucha beverage and evaluate its potential as a novel starter in beverage fermentation in vitro.Starmerella davenportii Do18 was characterized for its cholesterol reduction;growth at different conditions such as temperatures(25,30,37 and 42◦C),low pH(1.2,1.5,2.03.0,and 7.0),bile salts(0%,0.25%,0.5%,1%and 2%)high-sucrose stress(2%,10%,20%,40%and 60%);and in-vitro survival in gastric and intestinal environments. Results showed that the yeast strain has a cholesterol-lowering capacity of 45%±2%,grew at temperature of 37◦C and is resistant to pH 1.5,2%bile and 40%sucrose solution, could survive in simulated gastric and intestinal environments. The physicochemical characteristics of the fermented beverages were also evaluated, which indicated that the yeast has pH reduction capacity and can produce organic acids and volatile compound such as 2-phenylethanol.Furthermore,the fermented beverage also has high total phenolics and flavonoids content and showed great antioxidant and antimicrobial activities. Therefore, the findings of this research provide strong evidence that S.davenportii Do18 has good fermentation properties, can be a potential starter in food and beverage fermentation. | Chuanhai Tu Wenxiu Hu Sijie Tang Ling Meng Zhihai Huang Xiao Xu Xiudong Xia Fidelis Azi Mingsheng Dong | 2020 | Food Science and Human Wellness2020,9,4: | 8
Nanoindentation characteristics of cement with different mineral admixtures显示文摘In order to determine the effects of different mineral admixtures including fly ash(FA),blast furnace slag(BFS) and metakaolin(MK) on hydration product phases from the nanoscale structure perspective, nanoindentation characteristics of the samples with similar 28-day strengths have been investigated. The results indicate that the volume fractions of porosity in porosity and hydration product phases of the samples with the same kind of mineral admixture are almost equal to each other, and are greater than that of the sample without mineral admixture.Mineral admixtures especially MK can decrease remarkably the volume fractions of CH in porosity and hydration product phases, and there exists a good linear relationship between the(Al+Si)/Ca molar ratio of cementitious materials chemical compositions and the volume fraction of HD C-S-H gel in C-S-H gel. Therefore,it is possible to predict the volume fraction change of HD C-S-H gel in C-S-H gel by simply calculating the(Al+Si)/Ca molar ratio of cementitious materials with similar 28-day strengths under the constant water-binder ratio. | HE ZhiHai QIAN ChunXiang ZHANG Yi ZHAO Fei HU YingBo | 2013 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,5: | 7
Medium-Pressure Hydro-upgrading (MHUG) Technology for Producing Clean Diesel Fuel显示文摘This article introduces the development and application of the medium-pressure hydro-upgrading(MHUG) technology developed by the Research Institute of Petroleum Processing(RIPP).The MHUG technology based on the chemistry of diesel hydro-upgrading reactions has the advantages of flexible product slate and excellent product quality that can increase the cetane rating of diesel fuel up to more than 15 units. The hydrotreating and hydro-upgrading catalysts associated with the MHUG technology have outstanding performance to meet the demand of MHUG technology for hydro-saturation and selective ring-opening of aromatic rings.New MHUG process flow scheme can further increase the yield and selectivity of target products.Commercial application of multiple MHUG units has revealed that the MHUG technology designated for clean diesel production features good feedstock adaptability and operating stability. | Jiang Donghong Zhang Yuying Hu Zhihai Nie Hong | 2012 | China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2012,14,1: | 7
Development and Application of Hydrocracking Catalysts RHC-1/RHC-5 for Maximizing High Quality Chemical Raw Materials Yield显示文摘To adapt to the change in the demand of the oil refining market, two hydrocracking catalysts,RHC-1 and RHC-5,were developed to improve the quality of tail oil.The catalysts were designed based on the theory of selective ring-opening.By selecting more acidic molecular sieves, the problem of poor selectivity of conventional materials can be solved to properly match up to the hydrogenation performance of catalysts.Compared with the performance of previous catalysts, the quality of the tail oil achieved by the said catalysts is better, and the BMCI is reduced by 1—2 units. In the long cycle operation of the petroleum industry, the good quality of the tail oil has been verified and the adaptability of the process conditions is good. When the RHC-1 catalyst is used to process heavy feed under medium pressure,a BMCI value of about12 can be obtained along with a nearly 60%yield of tail oil.The total yield of chemical raw material(steaming cracking feed+catalytic reforming feed)can exceed 80%,and the hydrogen consumption has dropped by nearly 50%as compared to the conventional hydrocracking conversion rate. When processing a mixed CGO and VGO feed with the full conversion mode under a hydrogen pressure of 13.0 MPa,the RHC-5 catalyst can yield about 68.4%of heavy naphtha with a potential aromatic content of up to 50.6,while the total yield of chemical raw materials can reach more than 98%.The results of industrial application of these catalysts show that more than 30%of high quality tail oil can be obtained via processing of inferior quality feed, and its BMCI value can reach 10.7.The total yield of chemical raw materials can reach more than65%.The industrial operation process has implemented two operating cycles totaling 8 years. | Mao Yichao Nie Hong Li Mingfeng Hu Zhihai Zhao Guangle Zhao Yang | 2018 | China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2018,20,2: | 5
A complex structure of arrestin-2 bound to a G protein-coupled receptor显示文摘Arrestins comprise a family of signal regulators of G-protein-coupled receptors(GPCRs),which include arrestins 1 to 4.While arrestins 1 and 4 are visual arrestins dedicated to rhodopsin, arrestins 2 and 3(Arr2 and Arr3)areβ-arrestins known to regulate many nonvisual GPCRs.The dynamic and promiscuous coupling of Arr2 to nonvisual GPCRs has posed technical challenges to tackle the basis of arrestin binding to GPCRs.Here we report the structure of Arr2 in complex with neurotensin receptor 1(NTSR1),which reveals an overall assembly that is strikingly different from the visual arrestin–rhodopsin complex by a 90°rotation of Arr2 relative to the receptor. In this new configuration, intracellular loop 3(ICL3)and transmembrane helix 6(TM6)of the receptor are oriented toward the N-terminal domain of the arrestin, making it possible for GPCRs that lack the C-terminal tail to couple Arr2 through their ICL3.Molecular dynamics simulation and crosslinking data further support the assembly of the Arr2‒NTSR1 complex.Sequence analysis and homology modeling suggest that the Arr2‒NTSR1 complex structure may provide an alternative template for modeling arrestin–GPCR interactions. | Wanchao Yin Zhihai Li Mingliang Jin Yu-Ling Yin Parker Wde Waal Kuntal Pal Yanting Yin Xiang Gao Yuanzheng He Jing Gao Xiaoxi Wang Yan Zhang Hu Zhou Karsten Melcher Yi Jiang Yao Cong X.Edward Zhou Xuekui Yu H.Eric Xu | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,12: | 4
Effectiveness of herb-partitioned moxibustion combined with electroacupuncture on polycystic ovary syndrome in patients with symptom pattern of kidney deficiency and phlegm-dampness显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of herb-partitioned moxibustion combined with electroacupuncture on polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)in patients with symptom pattern of kidney deficiency and phlegm-dampness.METHODS:Totally 62 PCOS patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into intervention group and control group. In the intervention group, acupoints were subjected to(43±1)℃herb-partitioned moxibustion and electroacupuncture treatment. In the control group, acupoints were subjected to(37±1)℃herb-partitioned moxibustion and sham electroacupuncture treatment.Treatment was provided 3 times per week for 12 weeks, and the treatment was stopped during menstruation. After the treatment, the clinical efficacy, the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)symptom pattern score, basal body temperature(BBT)levels, menstrual cycle, and related sex hormone levels of the two groups were evaluated.RESULTS:Sixty patients were eventually included in the study(30 in the intervention group and 30 in the control group). There were not obvious between-group differences in the baseline efficacy parameters(all P>0.05).(a)After treatment, the two groups have improved in terms of clinical efficacy,TCM symptom pattern score, menstrual cycle and,BBT(P<0.01,<0.05),and the intervention group was better than the control group(P<0.01,<0.05).(b)In the intervention group, the estradiol(E2)and P450 aromatase(P450 arom)levels were increased(all P<0.05),the testosterone(T)level was decreased(P<0.05),and the luteotropic hormone(LH)and anti-Müllerian hormone(AMH)levels were significantly decreased(P<0.01).In the control group,E2 level was increased(P<0.05),and LH level was decreased(P<0.05).After treatment, the T,LH,and AMH levels of the intervention group were decreased compared with those of the control group(all P<0.05),and the P450 arom level was increased(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS:Herb-partitioned moxibustion combined with electroacupuncture can effectively improve the related clinical symptoms of PCOS patients with kidney deficiency and phlegm-dampness.Herb-partitioned moxibustion combined with electroacupuncture may inhibit the overexpression of AMH to increase the expression level of P450 arom in ovarian granulosa cells, thereby reconstructing the dependence of follicular development on FSH,and finally improving abnormal follicular development and hyperandrogenism in PCOS patients with kidney deficiency and phlegmdampness. | ZHAO Qingyi SUN Yi ZHOU Jing GAO Yanling MA Guizhi HU Zhihai WANG Yi SHI Yin | 2021 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,6: | 1

Tetralin Hydrocracking Reaction Network to Single-Ring Aromatics on Bifunctional Catalysts显示文摘Conversion of LCO(light cycle oil)to BTX(benzene, toluene, and xylene)is an economically valuable method for refineries. However, this approach still faces difficulties as the main reactions are not clearly understood. Here we study the detailed hydrocracking pathway of typical reactants,1-methylnaphthalene and tetralin, through molecular simulations and experiments to improve our understanding of the conversion process of LCO to BTX.Molecular simulations demonstrate that the rate-determining step is the isomerization pathway of six-membered ring to five-membered ring in tetralin as its activation energy(ΔEa)is the highest among all the reactions and the order ofΔEa of reactions is isomerization>ring-opening≈side-chain cleavage. The results of experiments show that with the increase in reaction depth,i.e.,through a high temperature(350-370℃)and low LHSV(4.5-6.0 h^(−1)),isomerization,ring-opening,and side-chain cleavage reactions occurred, thus improving the selectivity and yield of alkyl aromatics. | Ju Xueyan Huang Zhen Zhang Rui Wang Lixin Hu zhihai Li Dadong | 2022 | China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2022,24,2: | 1
Myeloid-derived suppressor cells promote B-cell production of IgA in a TNFR2-dependent manner显示文摘Myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs)are well known for their capacity to suppress antitumor T-cell responses, but their effects on B-cell function and antibody production remain unclear. Here,we found that MDSCs that accumulated around the germinal center in the spleen of tumor-bearing mice co-located with B cells. In the presence of MDSCs,the antibody reaction to a surrogate antigen was significantly enhanced in mice, especially the immunoglobulin(Ig)A subtype.Co-culture with MDSCs promoted both proliferation and differentiation of B cells into IgA-producing plasma cells in vitro.Interestingly, the cross talk between MDSCs and B cells required cell-cell contact.MDSCs from tumor necrosis factor receptor(TNFR)2^(−/−)mice,but not from TNFR1^(−/−)mice,failed to promote B-cell responses.Further investigation suggested that interleukin-10 and transforming growth factor-β1 were crucial for the MDSC-mediated promotion of IgA responses. These results demonstrate a novel mechanism of MDSC-mediated immune regulation during tumor growth. | Xia Xu Qinghong Meng Ulrike Erben Peigang Wang Rainer Glauben Anja A Kühl Hao Wu Chung Wah Ma Minghua Hu Yuanyuan Wang Wei Sun Junying Jia Xinyi Wu Wei Chen Britta Siegmund Zhihai Qin | 2017 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2017,14,7: | 1
Herb-partitioned moxibustion regulated the miRNA expression profile in the thyroid tissues of rats with experimental autoimmune thyroiditis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of herb-partitioned moxibustion(HPM)on the miRNA expression profile of thyroid tissue in experimental autoimmune thyroiditis(EAT)rats.METHODS:Rats were randomly divided into normal control(NC)group,EAT model(EAT)group,HPM group and western medicine(Med)group.EAT model rats were prepared by a combined immunization with complete and incomplete Freund’s adjuvant emulsified with porcine thyroglobulin and iodine.Rats in the HPM group were treated with HPM,while rats in the Med group were treated with levothyrocine(1μg/2 m L)by gavage.HE staining was used to observe the pathological morphological changes of thyroid tissue,ELISAs was uaed to detect the serum concentrations of TGAb,TPOAb,FT3,FT4,TSH.We then performed high-throughput mi RNA sequencing to analyse the mi RNA expression profiles in the thyroid tissues, followed by a bioinformatics analysis.RT-q PCR was used to verify the identified differentially expressed mi RNAs.RESULTS:HPM improved the thyroid tissue morphology and reduced serum TPOAb,TGAb,TSH concentration in EAT rats(P<0.05),but with no obvious effect on FT3 and FT4 concentration. While the TSH,FT3 and FT4 concentration was significantly changed in the Med group(P<0.01 or P<0.05)compared with that of EAT group.Sequencing results showed that a total of 17 mi RNAs were upregulated, and 4 were downregulated in the EAT rats,in which the expression levels of mi R-346 and mi R-331-5 p were reversed by HPM.The target genes of the mi RNAs that regulated by HPM wereassociated with a variety of immune factors and immune signals.RT-q PCR verification showed that the expression of mi RNA-346 and mi RNA-331-5 p was consistent with the sequencing results.CONCLUSIONS:HPM could regulate the the expression of mi RNA-346 and mi RNA-331-5 p,then act on their target genes to immune and inflammation-related pathways, which may be one of the mechanisms of HPM on EAT rats. | WANG Zhaoqin CUI Yunhua HUANG Yan WU Huangan ZHAO Jimeng HE Jinsen LIU Huirong ZHENG Handan WU Luyi HU Zhihai LIU Yanan | 2021 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,5: | 1

Acupuncture versus Western Medicine Drugs (Antidepressant) to Treat Depression显示文摘The aim of the study is to assess the beneficial effects of acupuncture compared with Western medicine in treating patientswith depression.Depression is a serious psychiatric illness that involves symptoms such as depressed or sad mood, loss ofinterest or pleasure in activities, changes in weight, difficult sleep or oversleeping, energy loss, feelings of worthlessness, psychomotorchanges, and thoughts of death or suicide.Acupuncture and Western medicine have been widely used to treat the patient with depression. The following electronic databases were searched:The Cochrane Central Register for Controlled Trials(Central),MEDLINE,EMBASE,AMED,PsycINFO,and PUBMED.The summary of this report was evaluated by using the Preferred Reporting Itemsfor Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis Checklist.Sixty-four journals on acupuncture,Western medicine drugs(antidepressant),and containing both in treating depression were identified and included in this review. In term of Western medicine, antidepressant may helpthe ego function in short term, and for long-term using,it may cause the patient to become addictive toward the drug.Acupuncture is relativelysafe to use and proven significantly effective to treat the depression and less side effect for long term used by the patient.Currentevidence from this summary literature review shows that acupuncture and Western medicine(antidepressant)drugs can treat depression. However, acupuncture therapies almost give none of side effect compared to antidepressant, and every patient with depression can try acupuncture notexcluding the pregnant woman. | Anggaraeni Krta Zhihai Hu Yi Wang Wen Wang Rumeng Wang Aijia Zhang | 2019 | Chinese Medicine and Culture2019,2,3: | 0
Leaf Morphology Genes SRL1 and RENL1 Co-Regulate Cellulose Synthesis and Affect Rice Drought Tolerance显示文摘The morphological development of rice(Oryza sativa L.)leaves is closely related to plant architecture, physiological activities, and resistance. However,it is unclear whether there is a co-regulatory relationship between the morphological development of leaves and adaptation to drought environment. In this study,a drought-sensitive,roll-enhanced,and narrow-leaf mutant(renl1)was induced from a semi-rolled leaf mutant(srl1)by ethyl methane sulfonate(EMS),which was obtained from Nipponbare(NPB)through EMS.Map-based cloning and functional validation showed that RENL1 encodes a cellulose synthase, allelic to NRL1/OsCLSD4.The RENL1 mutation resulted in reduced vascular bundles, vesicular cells, cellulose, and hemicellulose contents in cell walls, diminishing the water-holding capacity of leaves. In addition, the root system of the renl1 mutant was poorly developed and its ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species(ROS)was decreased, leading to an increase in ROS after drought stress.Meanwhile, genetic results showed that RENL1 and SRL1 synergistically regulated cell wall components. Our results revealed a theoretical basis for further elucidating the molecular regulation mechanism of cellulose on rice drought tolerance, and provided a new genetic resource for enhancing the synergistic regulation network of plant type and stress resistance, thereby realizing simultaneous improvement of multiple traits in rice. | LIU Dan ZHAO Huibo WANG Zi’an XU Jing LIU Yiting WANG Jiajia CHEN Minmin LIU Xiong ZHANG Zhihai CEN Jiangsu ZHU Li HU Jiang REN Deyong GAO Zhenyu DONG Guojun ZHANG Qiang SHEN Lan LI Qing QIAN Qian HU Songping ZHANG Guangheng | 2024 | Rice science2024,31,1: | 0

Genomic, transcriptomic, and epigenomic analysis of a medicinal snake,Bungarus multicinctus,to provides insights into the origin of Elapidae neurotoxins显示文摘The many-banded krait,Bungarus multicinctus, has been recorded as the animal resource of JinQianBaiHuaShe in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.Characterization of its venoms classified chief phyla of modern animal neurotoxins. However, the evolutionary origin and diversification of its neurotoxins as well as biosynthesis of its active compounds remain largely unknown due to the lack of its high-quality genome. Here,we present the 1.58 Gbp genome of B.multicinctus assembled into 18 chromosomes with contig/scaffold N50 of 7.53 Mbp/149.8 Mbp.Major bungarotoxin-coding genes were clustered within genome by family and found to be associated with ancient local duplications. The truncation of glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor in the 3'-terminal of a LY6E paralog released modern three-finger toxins(3FTxs)from membrane tethering before the Colubroidea divergence.Subsequent expansion and mutations diversified and recruited these 3FTxs.After the cobra/krait divergence, the modern unit-B ofβ-bungarotoxin emerged with an extra cysteine residue.A subsequent point substitution in unit-A enabled theβ-bungarotoxin covalent linkage. The B.multicinctus gene expression, chromatin topological organization, and histone modification characteristics were featured by transcriptome, proteome, chromatin conformation capture sequencing, and ChIP-seq.The results highlighted that venom production was under a sophisticated regulation. Our findings provide new insights into snake neurotoxin research, meanwhile will facilitate antivenom development,toxin-driven drug discovery and the quality control of JinQianBaiHuaShe. | Jiang Xu Shuai Guo Xianmei Yin Mingqian Li He Su Xuejiao Liao Qiushi Li Liang Le Shiyu Chen Baosheng Liao Haoyu Hu Juan Lei Yingjie Zhu Xiaohui Qiu Lu Luo Jun Chen Ruiyang Cheng Zhenzhan Chang Han Zhang Nicholas Chieh Wu Yiming Guo Dianyun Hou Jin Pei Jihai Gao Yan Hua Zhihai Huang Shilin Chen | 2023 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,5: | 0
