2Advances in lung cancer screening and early detection显示文摘Lung cancer is associated with a heavy cancer-related burden in terms of patients’physical and mental health worldwide.Two randomized controlled trials,the US-National Lung Screening Trial(NLST)and Nederlands-Leuvens Longkanker Screenings Onderzoek(NELSON),indicated that low-dose CT(LDCT)screening results in a statistically significant decrease in mortality in patients with lung cancer,LDCT has become the standard approach for lung cancer screening.However,many issues in lung cancer screening remain unresolved,such as the screening criteria,high false-positive rate,and radiation exposure.This review first summarizes recent studies on lung cancer screening from the US,Europe,and Asia,and discusses risk-based selection for screening and the related issues.Second,an overview of novel techniques for the differential diagnosis of pulmonary nodules,including artificial intelligence and molecular biomarker-based screening,is presented.Third,current explorations of strategies for suspected malignancy are summarized.Overall,this review aims to help clinicians understand recent progress in lung cancer screening and alleviate the burden of lung cancer.Caichen Li Huiting Wang Yu Jiang Wenhai Fu Xiwen Liu Ran Zhong Bo Cheng Feng Zhu Yang Xiang Jianxing He Wenhua Liang 2022Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,5:6
3Functions of PARylation in DNA Damage Repair Pathways显示文摘Protein poly ADP-ribosylation(PARylation) is a widespread post-translational modification at DNA lesions,which is catalyzed by poly(ADP-ribose) polymerases(PARPs).This modification regulates a number of biological processes including chromatin reorganization,DNA damage response(DDR),transcriptional regulation,apoptosis,and mitosis.PARP1,functioning as a DNA damage sensor,can be activated by DNA lesions,forming PAR chains that serve as a docking platform for DNA repair factors with high biochemical complexity.Here,we highlight molecular insights into PARylation recognition,the expanding role of PARylation in DDR pathways,and the functional interaction between PARylation and ubiquitination,which will offer us a better understanding of the biological roles of this unique post-translational modification.Huiting Wei Xiaochun Yu 2016Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2016,14,3:3
4Reactive Inorganic Vapor Deposition of Perovskite Oxynitride Films for Solar Energy Conversion显示文摘The synthesis of perovskite oxynitrides,which are promising photoanode candidates for solar energy conversion,is normally accomplished by high-temperature ammonolysis of oxides and carbonate precursors,thus making the deposition of their planar films onto conductive substrates challenging.Here,we proposed a facile strategy to prepare a series of perovskite oxynitride films.Taking SrTaO_(2)N as a prototype,we prepared SrTaO_(2)N films on Ta foils under NH_(3) flow by utilizing the vaporized SrCl_(2)/SrCO_(3) eutectic salt.The SrTaO_(2)N films exhibit solar water-splitting photocurrents of 3.0 mA cm^(-2) at 1.23 V vs.RHE(reversible hydrogen electrode),which increases by 270%compared to the highest photocurrent(1.1 mA cm^(-2) at 1.23 V vs.RHE)of SrTaO_(2)N reported in the literature.This strategy may also be applied to directly prepare a series of perovskite oxynitride films on conductive substrates such as ATaO_(2)N(A=Ca,Ba)and ANbO_(2)N(A=Sr,Ba).Tao Fang Huiting Huang Jianyong Feng Yingfei Hu Qinfeng Qian Shicheng Yan Zhentao Yu Zhaosheng Li Zhigang Zou 2019Research2019,,1:2
5Asian,regional,and national burdens of respiratory tract cancers and associated risk factors from 1990 to 2019:A systematic analysis for the global burden of disease study 2019显示文摘Background:Respiratory cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide,but its statistics vary between the East and West.This study aimed to estimate the burdens of tracheal,bronchus,and lung(TBL)cancer and larynx cancer and their attributable risks from 1990 to 2019 in Asia,and at regional and national levels.Methods:This research evaluated the incidence,mortality,years lived with disability,years of life lost,and disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)for respiratory tract cancers using the Global Burden of Diseases,Injuries,and Risk Factors Study(GBD)2019 database.Age-standardized rates were calculated for TBL cancer from 1990 to 2019,adjusted for smoking and socio-demographic index(SDI).Deaths from TBL cancer and larynx cancer attributable to each risk factor were estimated for 33 Asian countries.Results:The age-standardized incidence and death rates for TBL cancer in Asia declined from 2010 to 2019,while the incidence rate of larynx cancer increased.Smoking was the leading specific risk factor for deaths from both TBL and larynx cancers.The burden of TBL cancer in Asian countries was influenced by SDI and smoking,particularly among males in Central Asia.Deaths,DALYs,and incidences of larynx cancer in East Asia had not changed significantly over the past 30 years,but showed slight downward trends in males and both sexes combined,and an upward trend in females in recent years.Conclusions:The past decade saw increases in numbers of incident cases and deaths from TBL cancer and larynx cancer in Asia.SDI and smoking were the main factors influencing the disease burden of TBL cancer in Asian countries.This study highlights the need for tailored cancer control programs to address the burden of respiratory tract cancers in different Asian countries.Ran Zhong Xiuyu Cai Jianfu Li Peiling Chen Runchen Wang Xinting Li Feng Li Shan Xiong Caichen Li Huiting Wang Yang Xiang Shuting Zhan Ziwen Yu Haixuan Wang Chunyan Li Lixuan Lin Wenhai Fu Xin Zheng Shen Zhao Kang Zhang Jianxing He 2023Chinese Medical Journal Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine2023,1,4:1

7Risk factors and clinical outcomes of incomplete endoscopic resection of small rectal neuroendocrine tumors in southern China:a 9-year data analysis显示文摘Background:The histologically complete resection(CR)rate of small rectal neuroendocrine tumors(RNETs)is unsatisfactory at the first endoscopy.Risk factors and clinical outcomes associated with incomplete resection(IR)have not been explicitly elucidated.This study aims to explore the relevant factors of IR.Methods:This retrospective study reviewed patients with small RNETs(10mm)in eight centers from January 2013 to December 2021.Clinicopathological characteristics and clinical outcomes were compared between the CR and IR groups,and the polypectomy and advanced treatment groups.Results:Of the 326 patients included,83(25.5%)were diagnosed with IR.Polypectomy(odds ratio[OR]=16.86),a central depression(OR=7.50),and treatment in the early period(OR=2.60)were closely associated with IR.Further analysis revealed that an atypical hyperemic appearance(OR=7.49)and treatment in the early period(OR=2.54)were significantly associated with the inappropriate use of polypectomy(both P<0.05).In addition,a total of 265(81.3%)were followed up with a median follow-up period of 30.9 months.No death,metastasis,or recurrence was found during the follow-up period.Conclusions:Polypectomy,a central depression,and treatment in the early period were risk factors for IR.Further,an atypical hyperemic appearance and treatment in the early period were significant predisposing factors for inappropriate choice of polypectomy.For histologically incompletely resected small RNETs,follow-up may be a safe and feasible alternative to rigorous salvage therapy.Xiaoduan Zhuang Shaoheng Zhang Guiquan Chen Zongqi Luo Huiqin Hu Wenfeng Huang Yu Guo Yongwen Ouyang Liang Peng Qing Qing Huiting Chen Bingsheng Li Jie Chen Xinying Wang 2023Gastroenterology Report2023,11,1:0

9Effects of p38 MAPK inhibitor on the rat pain behavior and proinflammatory cytokines in a metastatic bone cancer pain model显示文摘Objective:To observe the effects of p38 mitogen activated protein kinase(MAPK) inhibitor SB203580 by intra-thecal injection on the pain behavior and the spinal proinflammatory cytokines in a rat model of bone cancer pain induced by breast cancer cells. Methods:Eleven rats were used to establish the models of bone cancer pain,six rats were treated by intrathecal SB203580 injection,and the other 5 were as the controls. The paw withdrawal latency(PWL),histology and the spinal levels of IL-1β and TNF-α were detected. Results:All the 11 rats presented evident bone destruction and thermal hyperalgesia after intra-tibial injection of breast cancer cells. No effect of SB203580 on the bone destruction was observed. However,following intrathecal injection of SB203580,the left PWLs(12.12 ± 1.26 s at 16 days and 12.99 ± 1.65 s at 19 days) were significant higher than that of controls(9.05 ± 1.08 s at 16 days and 8.55 ± 1.60 s at 19 days),P < 0.05. Meanwhile,intrathecal injection of SB203580 evidently reduced the levels of spinal IL-1β and TNF-α. 10Inhibition of Ku80 by RNAi enhances the radiosensitivity of cervical carcinoma cell line SiHa显示文摘Objective: To study the radiosensitivity of SiHa cells with Ku80 inhibition by RNAi. Methods: pKu80-siRNA and pNeg-siRNA were constructed and then transfected into SiHa cells. Western blot and RT-PCR were applied to measure the expression of Ku80. After 10 Gy irradiation with 6 MV X-ray, cells were harvested at 20 h, 28 h and 48 h, and analyzed by flow cytometry for apoptosis rate. The SF2 and α, β values of cells were acquired by clone formation array. Results: Two stable transfection cell clones SiHa/Ku80-siRNA and SiHa/Neg-siRNA were screened from the pKu80-siRNA and pNeg-siRNA transfected cells. Western blot and RT-PCR indicated that the expression of Ku80 was suppressed by the Ku80-siRNA. The apoptosis rates of SiHa/Ku80-siRNA were higher than control cells at 28 h and 48 h after X-ray irradiation (P < 0.05). The SF2 value of SiHa/Ku80-siRNA (0.422) was lower than that of SiHa/Neg-siRNA cells (0.587) or untransfected cells (0.583), and the α value of SiHa/Ku80-siRNA was 0.295 ± 0.016, higher than that of SiHa/Neg-siRNA (0.176 ± 0.010) or control cells (0.188 ± 0.011). 11Anti-NMDAR encephalitis with seizure-like activity and hemiplegia-a case report and literature review显示文摘Background Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor(NMDAR)encephalitis accounts for the vast majority of cases of autoimmune encephalitis.Its common clinical symptoms are psychiatric symptoms,behavioral dysfunction,seizures,speech impairment,cognitive impairment,movement disorders,decreased consciousness,and autonomic instability.This report was aimed to provide evidence for anti-NMDAR encephalitis with seizure-like activity,based on the clinical presentations,brain magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),and electroencephalogram(EEG)recordings.Case presentation We report a 11-year-old girl who suffered epigastric pain after vigorous physical activity.She felt weakness of the muscles.She had syncope only once and urinary incontinence on the way to the hospital and vomited at the arrival.The entire procedure lasted approximately 15 min.The next night she had recurrent headache attacks along with irritability,like someone“tapping”to the right occipital region.She experienced numbness in the left upper limbs and shallowing of the frontal lines on the left side.Holter monitoring showed normal findings,but brain MRI,EEG recording,and cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)antibody testing showed abnormal results.The patient was finally diagnosed with anti-NMDAR encephalitis.After treatment with glucocorticoids and acyclovir,she fully recovered and was discharged from the hospital.Conclusions Although the patient presented with pain and impaired limb movements,she did not have respiratory or(and)circulatory failure,and the symptoms entirely resolved.Early accurate diagnosis and timely treatment are essential for patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis.Junjie Hu Cailei Zhao Xia Zhao Yu Fang Huiting Zhang Dezhi Cao Jianxiang Liao 2022Acta Epileptologica2022,5,4:0
12Water Changes and Sources of Siling Co Using Landsat and GRACE Data since 1972显示文摘The inland lakes on the Tibetan Plateau(TP)are undergoing significant changes due to their sensitivity to climate.The largest lake in Tibet,Siling Co,has expanded most dramatically during recent decades.Using Landsat,GRACE and meteorological data,the expansion of Siling Co was detailed in four stages and the process was further explained.The results show that the lake area increased from 1647.30 km^(2)in 1972 to 2438.99 km^(2)in 2020.It experienced a slow growth at a rate 6.03 km^(2)/yr from 1972 to 1988,while fluctuating at 1.44 km^(2)/yr during 1989–1997,then accelerated at 60.28 km^(2)/yr between 1998 and 2005,and expanded slowly again at 11.40 km^(2)/yr since 2006.The continued expansion led to its merger with nearby Yagain Co in 2003.Terrestrial water storage(TWS)increase was also observed from GRACE(0.65 cm/yr),with about 0.75 coefficient of determination between the TWS and lake area during 2002–2020.The long-term expansion of Siling Co is related to the increasing trends of temperature and precipitation,but their contributions vary with time span.Specifically,the accelerated stage between 1998 and 2005 can be explained by the increased temperature and precipitation accompanied by a drop in evaporation,while the slow expansion since 2006 was due to the decrease in precipitation and temperature and the rise in evaporation.There is no obvious mass loss of glaciers revealed by GRACE during 2002–2020,which may be related to the negative trend of the temperature.Furthermore,the precipitation may still make a major contribution in this phase,as its average is about 93.9 mm higher than that in 1988–1997.Chuya Wang Yuande Yang Fei Li Junhao Wang Leiyu Li Huiting Yu 2024Journal of Earth Science2024,35,2:0
13Role of melatonin receptor 1B gene polymorphism and its effect on the regulation of glucose transport in gestational diabetes mellitus显示文摘Melatonin receptor 1B(MT2,encoded by the MTNR1B gene),a high-affinity receptor for melatonin,is associated with glucose homeostasis including glucose uptake and transport.The rs10830963 variant in the MTNR1B gene is linked to glucose metabolism disorders including gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM);however,the relationship between MT2-mediated melatonin signaling and a high birth weight of GDM infants from maternal glucose abnormality remains poorly understood.This article aims to investigate the relationship between rs10830963 variants and GDM development,as well as the effects of MT2 receptor on glucose uptake and transport in trophoblasts.TaqMan-MGB(minor groove binder)probe quantitative realtime polymerase chain reaction(qPCR)assays were used for rs10930963 genotyping.MT2 expression in the placenta of GDM and normal pregnant women was detected by immunofluorescence,western blot,and qPCR.The relationship between MT2 and glucose transporters(GLUTs)or peroxisome proliferator-activated receptorγ(PPARγ)was established by western blot,and glucose consumption of trophoblasts was measured by a glucose assay kit.The results showed that the genotype and allele frequencies of rs10830963 were significantly different between GDM and normal pregnant women(P<0.05).The fasting,1-h and 2-h plasma glucose levels of G-allele carriers were significantly higher than those of C-allele carriers(P<0.05).Besides,the protein and messenger RNA(mRNA)expression of MT2 in the placenta of GDM was significantly higher than that of normal pregnant women(P<0.05).Melatonin could stimulate glucose uptake and GLUT4 and PPARγprotein expression in trophoblasts,which could be attenuated by MT2 receptor knockdown.In conclusion,the rs10830963 variant was associated with an increased risk of GDM.The MT2 receptor is essential for melatonin to raise glucose uptake and transport,which may be mediated by PPARγ.Lijie WEI Yi JIANG Peng GAO Jingyi ZHANG Xuan ZHOU Shenglan ZHU Yuting CHEN Huiting ZHANG Yuanyuan DU Chenyun FANG Jiaqi LI Xuan GAO Mengzhou HE Shaoshuai WANG Ling FENG Jun YU 2023Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2023,24,1:0
