| 2 | Namib desert beetle inspired special patterned fabric with programmable and gradient wettability for efficient fog harvesting显示文摘Efficient collection of water from fog provides a potential solution to solve the global freshwater shortage problem, particularly in the desert or arid regions. In this work, a flexible and highly efficient fog collector was prepared by mimicking the back exoskeleton structure of the Namib desert beetle. The improved fog collector was constructed by a superhydrophobic-superhydrophilic patterned fabric via a simple weaving method, followed by in-situ deposition of copper particles. Compared with the conventional fog collector with a plane structure, the fabric has shown a higher water-harvesting rate at 1432.7 mg/h/cm2,owing to the biomimetic three-dimensional structure, its enhanced condensation performance enabled by the copper coating and the rational distribution of wetting units. | 4 | Deformation Forecasting of Huangtupo Riverside Landslide in the Case of Frequent Microseisms显示文摘Ever since the impoundment of Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR), the seismicity in head region of TGR has increased significantly. Coupled with wide fluctuation of water level each year, it becomes more important to study the deformation forecasting of landslides beside TGR. As a famous active landslide beside TGR, Huangtupo riverside landslide is selected for a case study. Based on long term water level fluctuation and seismic monitoring, three typical adverse conditions are determined. With the established 3D numerical landslide model, seepage-dynamic coupling calculation is conducted under the seismic intensity of V degree. | 7 | A manual inspection of Defects4J bugs and its implications for automatic program repair显示文摘Automatic program repair techniques, which target to generate correct patches for real-world defects automatically, have gained a lot of attention in the last decade. Many different techniques and tools have been proposed and developed. However, even the most sophisticated automatic program repair techniques can only repair a small portion of defects while producing a large number of incorrect patches.A possible reason for the low performance is the test suites of real-world programs are usually too weak to guarantee the behavior of a program. To understand to what extent defects can be fixed with exiting test suites, we manually analyzed 50 real-world defects from Defects4J, where a large portion(i.e., 82%) of them were correctly fixed. This result suggests that there is much room for the current automatic program repair techniques to improve. Furthermore, we summarized seven fault localization and seven patch generation strategies that are useful in localizing and fixing these defects, and compared those strategies with current techniques. To construct a STED microscope, it is challenging to realize temporal synchronization between the excitation pulses and the depletion pulses. In this study, we present a simple and low-cost method to achieve pulse synchronization by using a condensed fluorescent dye as a depletion indicator. By using this method, almost all the confocal microscopes can be upgraded to a STED system without losing its original functions. | 12 | Single-event burnout hardening of planar power MOSFET with partially widened trench source显示文摘We present a single-event burnout(SEB) hardened planar power MOSFET with partially widened trench sources by three-dimensional(3 D) numerical simulation. The advantage of the proposed structure is that the work of the parasitic bipolar transistor inherited in the power MOSFET is suppressed effectively due to the elimination of the most sensitive region(P-well region below the N+ source). The simulation result shows that the proposed structure can enhance the SEB survivability significantly. The critical value of linear energy transfer(LET),which indicates the maximum deposited energy on the device without SEB behavior, increases from 0.06 to0.7 p C/μm. The SEB threshold voltage increases to 120 V, which is 80% of the rated breakdown voltage. Meanwhile, the main parameter characteristics of the proposed structure remain similar with those of the conventional planar structure. | 14 | Upregulation of Rpn10 promotes tumor progression via activation of the NF-κB pathway in clear cell renal cell carcinoma显示文摘The ubiquitin-proteasome system(UPS)plays a central role in regulating protein homeostasis in tumor progression.The proteasome subunit Rpn10 is associated with the progression of several tumor types.However,little is known regarding the role of Rpn10 in clear cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC).In this study,we found that overexpression of Rpn10 increased ccRCC cell proliferation,migration,and invasion.Silencing Rpn10 expression resulted in decreased cell proliferation,migration,and invasion in ccRCC cells.Knockdown of Rpn10 inhibits tumor growth and cell proliferation in vivo.Furthermore,we demonstrated that Rpn10 increased cell proliferation,migration,and invasion via regulation of the nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB)pathway.Rpn10 directly promoted inhibitor of nuclear factor-kappa B alpha(IκBcx)degradation through the UPS.Moreover,we observed that upregulation of Rpn10 or downregulation of kBa in ccRCC was associated with poor prognosis.We found that the combination of these two parameters was a more powerful predictor of poor prognosis than either parameter alone.Collectively,these findings provide evidence that Rpn10 promotes the progression of ccRCC by regulation of the NF-κB pathways and is a prognostic indicator for patients with ccRCC. | Tingting Huang Wei Tian Qingqing Zhou Jiajun Li Zhiyuan Jiang Jinsi Chen Chao Ge Hua Tian | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,8: | 1 |
| 15 | Distribution of reactive aluminum under the influence of mesoscale eddies in the western South China Sea显示文摘To understand the distribution of aluminum(Al) under the influence of mesocale eddies in the western South China Sea(SCS), sea level anomaly, geostrophic current, environmental parameters and reactive Al were investigated in the western SCS in August 2013. The highest reactive Al concentration((180±64) nmol/L) was observed in the surface waters, indicating a substantial atmospheric input. Vertically, the reactive Al decreased from the surface high concentration to the subsurface minima at the depth of chlorophyll a(Chl a) maxima and then increased again with depth at most of the stations. The average concentration of reactive Al in the upper 100 m water column was significantly lower in the cyclonic eddy((137±6) nmol/L) as compared with that in the noneddy waters((180±21) nmol/L). By contrast, the average concentrations of Chl a and silicate in the upper 100 m water column were higher in the cyclonic eddy and lower in the anticyclonic eddy. There was a significant negative correlation between the average concentrations of reactive Al and Chl a in the upper 100 m water column. The vertical distribution of reactive Al and the negative correlation between reactive Al and Chl a both suggest that the reactive Al in the upper water column was significantly influenced by biological removal processes. | 18 | Correlation between human seizure-related gene 6 variants and idiopathic generalized epilepsy in a Southern Chinese Han population显示文摘This study sought to analyze the genotype and gene mutations of human seizure-related gene 6 in 98 patients with idiopathic generalized epilepsy (non-febrile seizures), who were selected from three generations of the Chinese Han population living in Shanghai, Zhejiang Province, Wuxi of Jiangsu Province, and Jiangxi Province of Southern China. Twenty-six patients' parents were available as a first-degree relatives group and 100 biologically unrelated healthy controls were collected as the control group. Based on the age of onset and seizure type, the patients were divided into six subgroups. Polymerase chain reaction and DNA direct sequencing analysis showed that the most frequent mutations c.1249dupC (p.Gly418Argfx31) and c.1636A > G (p.Thr546Ala) were detected in some idiopathic generalized epilepsy patients and their asymptomatic first-degree relatives (30.6% vs. 19.2% and 11.2% vs. 26.9%). A novel mutation c.1807G > A (p.Val603Met) was found in a patient with late-onset idiopathic generalized epilepsy. There was no significant difference in the incidence of these three mutations among the different subgroups of idiopathic generalized epilepsy and controls. | 20 | Causative fault and seismogenic mechanism of the 2010 Suining M5.0 earthquake from joint modeling of seismic and InSAR data显示文摘Although the Sichuan basin is a stable block with low historical seismicity,the Suining M5.0 earthquake on January31,2010 occurred near the center of the basin,causing casualty and substantial damage.Previous studies have shown that the earthquake is very shallow and may occur in the sedimentary cover rocks,but its causative fault has not been identified.Based on local broadband seismic waveform data as well as a pair of ALOS PALSAR ascending orbit data,we explore the seismogenic mechanism via further constraining the source depth and the ruptured fault.The earthquake caused ground uplift in the southeast of the epicenter area,with a maximum line of sight displacement of about 13.6 cm,much larger than the displacement caused by a M5 earthquake at a typical depth of 10 km,which indicates that the earthquake is very shallow.Through joint inversion of seismic waveform and InSAR data,we obtain the moment magnitude of Suining earthquake as MW4.5,with the strike,dip,and rake of its fault plane as 17°,66° and 90°,respectively,and the centroid depth less than 1 km,supporting that the earthquake occurred at the shallow part of a high angle thrust fault dipping to the southeast.It is further confirmed that the earthquake may be triggered by the diffusion of high-pressure fluid migrating from the underside gas reservoir. | Wangwang GU Sidao NI Shuofan WANG Baolong ZHANG Xinglin LEI Risheng CHU Aizhi GUO Qiang SHEN Hansheng WANG Liming JIANG Minhan SHENG Jiajun CHONG | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,8: | 0 |
