1Factors predicting sensory and motor recovery after the repair of upper limb peripheral nerve injuries显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the factors associated with sensory and motor recovery after the repair of upper limb peripheral nerve injuries. DATA SOURCES: The online PubMed database was searched for English articles describing outcomes after the repair of median, ulnar, radial, and digital nerve injuries in humans with a publication date between 1 January 1990 and 16 February 2011. STUDY SELECTION: The following types of article were selected:(1) clinical trials describing the repair of median, ulnar, radial, and digital nerve injuries published in English; and(2) studies that reported sufficient patient information, including age, mechanism of injury, nerve injured, injury location, defect length, repair time, repair method, and repair materials. SPSS 13.0 software was used to perform univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses and to investigate the patient and intervention factors associated with outcomes. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Sensory function was assessed using the Mackinnon-Dellon scale and motor function was assessed using the manual muscle test. Satisfactory motor recovery was defined as grade M4 or M5, and satisfactory sensory recovery was defined as grade S3+ or S4.RESULTS: Seventy-one articles were included in this study. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that repair time, repair materials, and nerve injured were independent predictors of outcome after the repair of nerve injuries(P < 0.05), and that the nerve injured was the main factor affecting the rate of good to excellent recovery. 2Effectiveness of Catch-Up Vaccinations after COVID-19 Containment--China,2020显示文摘Introduction:In the early stages of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)epidemic in China,the highest level of public health emergency response(Level 1 Response)was launched in all province-level administrative divisions(PLADs)across the country.Provision of vaccination services was selectively suspended due to the physical distancing and gathering restrictions required of Level 1 Response.The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on vaccination services and the effectiveness of selective vaccination service suspension and catch-up vaccinations in China.Methods:Vaccine doses administered,routine vaccination coverage levels,catch-up vaccine doses administered,and coverage levels after the catch-up campaign were determined from individual vaccination records in sampled clinics,standard routine immunization administrative coverage reports,and catch-up vaccination activity reports submitted by PLADs between October 2019 and October 2020.Results:National Immunization Program(NIP)and non-NIP vaccine doses administered in sampled clinics decreased by 80% and 90%,respectively,compared with doses administered before the COVID-19 pandemic.Coverage with the birth dose of hepatitis B vaccine(HepB1)and the Bacillus Calmette-Guérin vaccine(BCG)—two vaccinations recommended to continue throughout the epidemic due to their timecritical nature—were maintained at over 85%,while coverage of other NIP vaccines decreased to below 60%by February 2020.Catch-up vaccination coverage of the 29 PLADs,excluding Xinjiang and Xizang(Tibet),began in April 2020 and exceeded 90%;Hubei catch-up coverage was 95% by October 2020.Conclusions and Implications for Public Health Practice:The COVID-19 pandemic had a great impact on China’s vaccination services.During the epidemic and time of local transmission of the coronavirus,HepB1,BCG,rabies vaccine for postexposure prophylaxis,and tetanus antitoxin(TAT)for wound prophylaxis were maintained at high levels.Of the 69 million vaccine doses postponed during the time of local transmission of the coronavirus,94% were administered in the catch-up campaign.China’s pandemic immunization practices may provide evidence for other countries’immunization programs.Jing Wu Wenzhou Yu Lei Cao Lingsheng Cao Lance Rodewald Jiakai Ye Yifan Song Li Li Xiaoxue Liu Ning Wen Fuzhen Wang Lixin Hao Yixing Li Hui Zheng Keli Li Chao Ma Dan Wu Yanmin Liu Guomin Zhang Zhijie An Huaqing Wang Zundong Yin 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,50:6

5Molecular cloning, characterization and expression analysis of a catalase gene in Paphia textile显示文摘Catalase is an important antioxidant protein that can protect organisms against various forms of oxidative damage by eliminating hydrogen peroxide. In this study, the catalase c DNA of Paphia textile(Pt CAT) was cloned using RTPCR and rapid amplification of c DNA ends(RACE). Pt CAT is 1 921 bp long and consists of a 5′-UTR of 50 bp, a 3′-UTR of 349 bp, and an ORF of 1 542 bp that encodes 513 amino acids with a molecular weight of 58.4 k D and an estimated isoelectric point of 8.2. Sequence alignment indicated that Pt CAT contained a highly conserved catalytic signature motif(^(61)FNRERIPERVVHAKGAG^(77)), a proximal heme-ligand signature sequence(^(352)RLFSYSDP^(359)), and three catalytic amino acid residues(H^(72), N^(145), and Y^(356)). Pt CAT also contains two putative N-glycosylation sites(^(34)NKT^(36) and ^(437)NFT^(439)) and a peroxisome-targeting signal(^(511)AQL^(513)). Furthermore, Pt CAT shares 53%–88% identity and 29%–89% similarity with other catalase amino acid sequences. Pt CAT m RNA was present in all tested organs, including the heart, digestive gland, adductor muscle, gonad, gill, and mantle, but its expression was highest in the digestive gland. High-temperature-induced stress produced two expression patterns of Pt CAT m RNA: first, an initial up-regulation followed by a down-regulation in the heart, digestive gland, and gonad and, second, consistent down-regulation in all other organs. 11Band-structure-engineered high-gain LWIR photodetector based on a type-Ⅱ superlattice显示文摘The LWIR and longer wavelength regions are of particular interest for new developments and new approaches to realizing long-wavelength infrared(LWIR)photodetectors with high detectivity and high responsivity.These photodetectors are highly desirable for applications such as infrared earth science and astronomy,remote sensing,optical communication,and thermal and medical imaging.Here,we report the design,growth,and characterization of a high-gain band-structure-engineered LWIR heterojunction phototransistor based on type-Ⅱ superlattices.The 1/e cut-off wavelength of the device is 8.0 pm.At 77 K,unity optical gain occurs at a 90 mV applied bias with a dark current density of 3.2×10^(-7)A/cm^(2).The optical gain of the device at 77 K saturates at a value of 276 at an applied bias of 220 mV.This saturation corresponds to a responsivity of 1284 A/W and a specific detectivity of 2.34×10^(13)cm Hz^(1/2)/W at a peak detection wavelength of~6.8 pm.The type-Ⅱ superlattice-based high-gain LWIR device shows the possibility of designing the high-performance gain-based LWIR photodetectors by implementing the band structure engineering approach.Arash Dehzangi Jiakai Li Manijeh Razeghi 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,2:1

14Penile erectile dysfunction after brachial plexus root avulsion injury in rats显示文摘Our previous studies have demonstrated that some male patients suffering from brachial plexus injury,particularly brachial plexus root avulsion,show erectile dysfunction to varying degrees.However,the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood.In this study,we evaluated the erectile function after establishing brachial plexus root avulsion models with or without spinal cord injury in rats.After these models were established,we administered apomorphine(via a subcutaneous injection in the neck) to observe changes in erectile function.Rats subjected to simple brachial plexus root avulsion or those subjected to brachial plexus root avulsion combined with spinal cord injury had significantly fewer erections than those subjected to the sham operation.Expression of neuronal nitric oxide synthase did not change in brachial plexus root avulsion rats.However,neuronal nitric oxide synthase expression was significantly decreased in brachial plexus root avulsion + spinal cord injury rats.These findings suggest that a decrease in neuronal nitric oxide synthase expression in the penis may play a role in erectile dysfunction caused by the combination of brachial plexus root avulsion and spinal cord injury.Guo Fu Bengang Qin Li Jiang Xijun Huang Qinsen Lu Dechun Zhang Xiaolin Liu Jiakai Zhu Jianwen Zheng Xuejia Li Liqiang Gu 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,20:0
15Vaccination Vehicles for COVID-19 Immunization—China,2021显示文摘Background:Recently,developed vaccination vehicles were repurposed and deployed for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)vaccination in China.We described the vehicles and reported an evaluation of vaccination throughput of these vehicles for COVID-19 vaccination in China.Methods:We obtained daily reports of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in vehicles in Hubei Province between March 16 and 29 of 2021.We determined the rate of COVID-19 vaccines given and evaluated the applicability of vaccination vehicles for COVID-19 vaccination.Results:Vehicles with 2 vaccination stations are suitable for several real-world scenarios.Vehicles administered an average of 72 COVID-19 vaccine doses per hour,with an upper limit of 145 doses per hour.Conclusion:Vaccination vehicles can save human and financial resources and provide high quality,effective,convenient,and rapid on-site vaccination services;they can increase the pace of COVID-19 vaccination.Hong Lei Lingsheng Cao Yi Gong Wenzhou Yu Lei Cao Jiakai Ye Yifan Song Li Li 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,34:0
16Relating the composition of continental margin surface sediments from the Ross Sea to the Amundsen Sea,West Antarctica,to modern environmental conditions显示文摘Investigating the multiple proxies involving productivity,organic geochemistry,and trace element(TE)enrichment in surface sediments could be used as paleoenvironment archives to gain insights into past and future environmental conditions changes.We present redox-sensitive TEs(Mn,Ni,Cu,U,P,Mo,Co,V,Zn,and Cd),productivity-related proxies(total organic carbon and opal),and total nitrogen and CaCO_(3) contents of bulk surface sediments of this area.The productivity proxies from the shelf and coastal regions of the Ross and the Amundsen seas showed that higher productivity was affiliated with an area of nutrient-rich deep water upwelling.The upwelling of weakly corrosive deep water may be beneficial for preserving CaCO_(3),while highly corrosive dense water,if it forms on the shelf near the coastal region(coastal polynya),could limit the preservation of CaCO_(3) in modern conditions.There were no oxic or anoxic conditions in the study area,as indicated by the enrichment factors of redox-sensitive TEs(Mn,Co,and U).The enrichment factor of Cd,which is redox-sensitive,indicated suboxic redox conditions in sediment environments because of high primary productivity and organic matter preservation/decomposition.The enrichment factors of other redox-sensitive TEs(P,Ni,Cu,V,and Zn)and the correlations between the element/Ti ratio with productivity and nutrient proxies indicated that the organic matter decomposed,and there was massive burial of phytoplankton biomass.There was variation in the enrichment,such that sediments were enriched in P,Mo,and Zn,but depleted in Ni,Cu,and V.WANG Jiakai LI Tiegang TANG Zheng XIONG Zhifang LIU Yanguang CHEN Zhihua CHANG Fengming 2022Advances in Polar Science2022,33,1:0

18In-Orbit Calibration Uncertainty of the Microwave Radiation Imager on board Fengyun-3C显示文摘This study evaluates the in-orbit calibration uncertainty(CU)for the microwave radiation imager(MWRI)on board the Chinese polar-orbiting meteorological satellite Fengyun-3 C(FY-3 C).Uncertainty analysis of the MWRI provides a direct link to the calibration system of the sensor and quantifies the calibration confidence based on the prelaunch and postlaunch measurements.The unique design of the sensor makes the uncertainty in the calibration of the sensor highly correlate to the uncertainty in the brightness temperature(TB)measured at the hot view,while the cold view has negligible impacts on the calibration confidence.Lack of knowledge on the emission of the hot-load reflector hampers the MWRI calibration accuracy significantly in the descending passes of the orbits when the hotload reflector is heated nonuniformly by the solar illumination.Radiance contamination originating from the satellite and in-orbit environments could enter the primary reflector via the hot view and further impinge on the CU,especially at the 10.65-GHz channels where the main-beam width is much broader than that of higher-frequency channels.The monthly-mean CU is lower than 2 K at all channels,depending on the observed earth scenes and in-orbit environments,and the month-to-month variation of CU is also noticed for all channels.Due to the uncertainty in the emissive hot-load reflector,CU in the descending passes is generally larger than that in the ascending orbits.Moreover,up to 1-K CU difference between the ocean and land scenes is found for the 10.65-GHz channels,while this difference is less than 0.1 K at the 89-GHz channels.Xinxin XIE Wanting MENG Jiakai HE Weimin YU Xue LI 2021Journal of Meteorological Research2021,35,6:0

20Modified Coffin-Manson equation to predict the fatigue life of structural materials subjected to mechanical-thermal coupling non-coaxial loading显示文摘With regard to the structures subjected to severe mechanical-thermal coupling fatigue conditions,the consistency between service conditions and loading conditions was the prerequisite for the fatigue prop-erties test and fatigue life prediction.A miniature piezoelectric-driven instrument integrating with a tripodal piezoelectric actuator and envelope-type heating function was developed to investigate the mechanical-thermal coupling fatigue properties and obtain the fatigue life of materials under approximate service conditions.A physical model was described to quantitatively calculate the alternating deformation under the mechanical-thermal coupling tensile-bending combined condition.Accordingly,a fatigue life prediction method based on the Coffin-Manson equation under tensile-bending combined loading was proposed to estimate the mechanical-thermal coupling fatigue life in terms of the total coupling defor-mation and plastic strain amplitude.The feasibility of the proposed instrument was verified through the analysis of displacement responses of high entropy alloy specimens under the thermal-mechanical cou-pling tensile-bending combined condition at temperatures ranging from RT to 600°C.The comparison between fatigue lives directly measured through thermal-mechanical coupling experiments and theoreti-cally predicted fatigue lives indicated the availability of the modified Coffin-Manson equation.Zhichao Ma Chaofan Li Wei Zhang Shenghui Wang Jiakai Li Hongwei Zhao Luquan Ren 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,29:0
