A critical epitope in CD147 facilitates memory CD4^(+) T-cell hyper-activation in rheumatoid arthritis显示文摘The abnormal activation of CD4^(+)CD45RO+memory T(Tm)cells plays an important role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Previous studies have shown that CD147 participates in T-cell activation. However,it remains unclear whether CD147 is involved in abnormal Tm-cell activation in RA patients. In this study,we demonstrated that CD147 was predominantly upregulated in Tm cells derived from RA patients. The anti-CD147 mAb 5A12 specifically inhibited Tm-cell activation and proliferation and further restrained osteoclastogenesis.Using a structural–functional approach,we depicted the interface between 5A12 and CD147.This allowed us to identify two critical residues,Lys63 and Asp65,as potential targets for RA treatment,as the double mutation K63A/D65A inhibited Tm-cell activation, mimicking the neutralization by 5A12.This study provides not only a theoretical basis for a“CD147-Tm/Osteoclast-RA chain”for the potential prevention and treatment of RA or other T-cell-mediated autoimmune diseases but also a new target for related drug design and development. | Na Guo Sheng Ye Kui Zhang Xiaoling Yu Hongyong Cui Xiangmin Yang Peng lin Minghua Lv Jinlin Miao Yang Zhang Qing Han Rongguang Zhang Zhinan Chen Ping Zhu | 2019 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,6: | 6
Searching for the Nano-Hertz Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background with the Chinese Pulsar Timing Array Data ReleaseⅠ显示文摘Observing and timing a group of millisecond pulsars with high rotational stability enables the direct detection of gravitational waves(GWs).The GW signals can be identified from the spatial correlations encoded in the times-of-arrival of widely spaced pulsar-pairs.The Chinese Pulsar Timing Array(CPTA)is a collaboration aiming at the direct GW detection with observations carried out using Chinese radio telescopes. This short article serves as a“table of contents”for a forthcoming series of papers related to the CPTA Data Release 1(CPTA DR1)which uses observations from the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope. Here, after summarizing the time span and accuracy of CPTA DR1,we report the key results of our statistical inference finding a correlated signal with amplitude logA_(c)=-14.4_(-2.8)^(+1.0)for spectral index in the range ofα∈[-1.8,1.5]assuming a GW background(GWB)induced quadrupolar correlation. The search for the Hellings–Downs(HD)correlation curve is also presented, where some evidence for the HD correlation has been found that a 4.6σstatistical significance is achieved using the discrete frequency method around the frequency of 14 n Hz.We expect that the future International Pulsar Timing Array data analysis and the next CPTA data release will be more sensitive to the n Hz GWB,which could verify the current results. | Heng Xu Siyuan Chen Yanjun Guo Jinchen Jiang Bojun Wang Jiangwei Xu Zihan Xue RNicolas Caballero Jianping Yuan Yonghua Xu Jingbo Wang Longfei Hao Jingtao Luo Kejia Lee Jinlin Han Peng Jiang Zhiqiang Shen Min Wang Na Wang Renxin Xu Xiangping Wu Richard Manchester Lei Qian Xin Guan Menglin Huang Chun Sun Yan Zhu | 2023 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2023,23,7: | 3
Carbon-based flexible self-supporting cathode for lithium-sulfur batteries:Progress and perspective显示文摘The flexible self-supporting electrode can maintain good mechanical and electrical properties while retaining high specific capacity, which meets the requirements of flexible batteries.Lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs),as a new generation of energy storage system, hold much higher theoretical energy density than traditional batteries, and they have attracted extensive attention from both the academic and industrial communities.Selection of a proper substrate material is important for the flexible self-supporting electrode.Carbon materials, with the advantages of light weight, high conductivity, strong structural plasticity, and low cost, provide the electrode with a large loading space for the active material and a conductive network. This makes the carbon materials meet the mechanical and electrochemical requirements of flexible electrodes. In this paper, the commonly used fabrication methods and recent research progresses of the flexible self-supporting cathode with a carbon material as the substrate are introduced.Various sulfur loading methods are summarized, which provides useful information for the structural design of the cathode. As the first review article of the carbon-based flexible self-supporting LSB cathodes,it provides valuable guidance for the researchers working in the field of LSB. | Qinghuiqiang Xiao Jinlin Yang Xiaodong Wang Yirui Deng Peng Han Ning Yuan Lei Zhang Ming Feng Chang‐an Wang Ruiping Liu | 2021 | Carbon Energy2021,3,2: | 3

Discovery of eight lensing clusters of galaxies显示文摘Clusters of galaxies have a huge mass which can act as gravitational lenses.Galaxies behind clusters can be distorted by the lenses to form arcs in images.Herein a search was done for giant lensed arcs using the SDSS data.By visually inspecting SDSS images of newly identified clusters in the SDSS DR8 and Stripe 82 data,we discover 8 strong lensing clusters together with additional 3probable and 6 possible cases. The lensed arcs show bluer colors than the member galaxies of clusters. The masses and optical luminosities of galaxy clusters interior to the arcs are calculated. The mass-to-light ratios are found to be in the range of a few tens of M⊙/L⊙,consistent with the distribution of previously known lensing clusters. | LIANG SuMing WEN ZhongLue HAN JinLin JIANG YunYing | 2014 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,9: | 2
Peering into the Milky Way by FAST:Ⅳ.Identification of two new Galactic supernova remnants G203.1+6.6and G206.7+5.9显示文摘A 5°×7°sky area containing two large radio structures of G203.1+6.6 and G206.7+5.9 with a size of about 2.°5 and 3.°5 respectively is scanned by using the L-band 19-beam receiver of the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST).The FAST L-band receiver covers a frequency range of 1.0-1.5 GHz.Commissioning of the receiving system, including the measurements of the half-power beam width, gain, and main-beam efficiency is made by observing the calibrators. The multi-channel spectroscopy backend mounted to the receiver allows an in-band spectral-index determination. The brightness-temperature spectral indices of both objects are measured to beβ~-2.6 to-2.7.Polarized emission is detected from the archival Effelsbergλ11 cm data for all the shell structures of G203.1+6.6 and G206.7+5.9.These results clearly indicate a non-thermal synchrotron emitting nature, confirming that G203.1+6.6 and G206.7+5.9 are large shell-type supernova remnants(SNRs).Based on morphological correlation between the radio continuum emission of G206.7+5.9 and the H i structures, the kinematic distance to this new SNR is estimated to be about 440 pc,placing it in the Local Arm. | XuYang Gao Wolfgang Reich XiaoHui Sun He Zhao Tao Hong ZhongSheng Yuan Patricia Reich JinLin Han | 2022 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,12: | 1
The best detection conditions for pulsars in the Galactic disk显示文摘Radio detection of pulsars in the Galactic disk is strongly affected by the dispersion and scattering effect of the interstellar medium and the Galactic background radio emission. In order to know the best conditions for discovery of pulsars, we select and simulate pulsar samples in the Galactic disk, and calculate the detection probability with various observation conditions (such as observational frequency, telescope aperture, receiver bandwidth and integration time). We have found that the detection fraction increases with the telescope aperture, receiver bandwidth and integration time. To detect pulsars in the nearer half of the Galactic disk, the observation frequency should be in the range of 1-2 GHz, while for pulsars in the farther half of the disk, the frequency should be in the range of 3.5-4.5 GHz. Due to the strong influence of scattering, the short period pulsars are hard to be detected, especially for pulsars in the farther half of the Galactic disk. | XU XiangYang WANG Chen HAN JinLin HU Lin | 2011 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,3: | 1

Bioinspired drug-delivery system emulating the natural bone healing cascade for diabetic periodontal bone regeneration显示文摘Diabetes mellitus(DM)aggravates periodontitis, resulting in accelerated periodontal bone resorption.Disordered glucose metabolism in DM causes reactive oxygen species(ROS)overproduction resulting in compromised bone healing, which makes diabetic periodontal bone regeneration a major challenge.Inspired by the natural bone healing cascade,a mesoporous silica nanoparticle(MSN)-incorporated PDLLA(poly(DL-lactide))-PEG-PDLLA(PPP)thermosensitive hydrogel with stepwise cargo release is designed to emulate the mesenchymal stem cell“recruitment-osteogenesis”cascade for diabetic periodontal bone regeneration.During therapy,SDF-1 quickly escapes from the hydrogel due to diffusion for early rat bone marrow stem cell(rBMSC)recruitment.Simulta-neously,slow degradation of the hydrogel starts to gradually expose the MSNs for sustained release of metformin, which can scavenge the overproduced ROS under high glucose conditions to reverse the inhibited osteogenesis of rBMSCs by reactivating the AMPK/β-catenin pathway, resulting in regulation of the diabetic microenvironment and facilitation of osteogenesis. In vitro experiments indicate that the hydrogel markedly restores the inhibited migration and osteogenic capacities of rBMSCs under high glucose conditions. In vivo results suggest that it can effectively recruit rBMSCs to the periodontal defect and significantly promote periodontal bone regeneration under type 2 DM.In conclusion, our work provides a novel therapeutic strategy of a bioinspired drug-delivery system emulating the natural bone healing cascade for diabetic periodontal bone regeneration. | He Wang Xiaowei Chang Qian Ma Boyang Sun Han Li Jinmin Zhou Yiyao Hu Xiaoyu Yang Jie Li Xin Chen Jinlin Song | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,3: | 1

Phase Behaviors of Multi-tailed B_(2)AB_(2)-Type Regio-isomeric Giant Surfactants at the Columnar-Spherical Boundary显示文摘We report herein the precision synthesis and phase behaviors of multi-tailed B_(2)AB_(2)-type regio-isomeric giant surfactants consisting of a hydrophilic polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane(POSS)head tethered with four hydrophobic polystyrene(PS)tails. The synthesis was accomplished through two sequential'click'reactions to give a series of regio-isomeric giant surfactants S2DS2(where S is short for PS tails and D for hydroxyl-functionalized POSS)in para-,meta-,and ortho-configurations.Their phase structures and phase be-haviors at the columnar-spherical boundary were investigated with a single PS tail molecular weight of 1.4 kDa.Specifically, the para-and meta-isomers show hexagonally packed cylinders phases with slightly different order-disorder transition temperatures(~120℃ and~130℃)and the ortho-isomer exhibits an order-order transition from a kinetically favored, metastable dodecagonal quasi-crystal phase to a thermodynamically stable sigma phase at~120℃,as well as a further transition into the disordered state at~140℃.The phase diagram was constructed and their differences were rationalized based on the calculated interfacial area per molecule. This work demonstrates that tiny structural disparity could not only lead to unconventional phase formation in single-component macro-molecules,but also render dynamic and rich phase behaviors in these macromolecular assemblies. | Yu Shao Di Han Xiaojin Yan Bo Hou Yiwen Li Jinlin He Qiang Fu Wen-Bin Zhang | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemistry2021,39,12: | 0
Peering into the Milky Way by FAST:Ⅲ.Magnetic fields in the Galactic halo and farther spiral arms revealed by the Faraday effect of faint pulsars显示文摘The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST)is the most sensitive radio telescope for pulsar observations. We make polarimetric measurements of a large number of faint and distant pulsars using the FAST.We present the new measurements of Faraday rotation for 134 faint pulsars in the Galactic halo.Significant improvements are also made for some basic pulsar parameters for 15 of them.We analyse the newly determined rotation measures(RMs)for the Galactic magnetic fields by using these 134 halo pulsars, together with previously available RMs for pulsars and extragalactic radio sources and also the newly determined RMs for another 311 faint pulsars which are either newly discovered in the project of the Galactic Plane Pulsar Snapshot(GPPS)survey or previously known pulsars without RMs.The RM tomographic analysis in the first Galactic quadrant gives roughly the same field strength of around 2μG for the large-scale toroidal halo magnetic fields. The scale height of the halo magnetic fields is found to be at least 2.7±0.3 kpc.The RM differentiation of a large number of pulsars in the Galactic disk in the Galactic longitude range of 26° | Jun Xu JinLin Han PengFei Wang Yi Yan | 2022 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,12: | 0
Peering into the Milky Way by FAST:Ⅱ.Ionized gas in the inner Galactic disk revealed by the piggyback line observations of the FAST GPPS survey显示文摘As one of the major components of the interstellar medium, the ionized gas in our Milky Way,especially the low-density diffuse component, has not been extensively observed in the radio band. The Galactic Plane Pulsar Snapshot(GPPS)survey covers the sky area within the Galactic latitude of±10°around the Galactic plane visible by the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST),and the spectral line data are simultaneously recorded during the pulsar survey observations. With an integration time of 5 min for each beam, the GPPS survey project provides the most sensitive piggyback spectra for tens of radio recombination lines(RRLs)in the band of 1000-1500 MHz for Hnα,Henα,Cnα,as well as Hnβand Hnγ.We processed the spectral data of RRLs,and obtained a sensitive averaged HnαRRL map of a sky area of 88 square degrees in the inner Galaxy of 33°≤l≤55°and∣b∣≤2°0.The final spectral data of the HnαRRLs have a spatial resolution of∼3′,a spectral resolution of 2.2 km s^(−1),and a typical spectral RMS noise of 0.25 mJy beam−1 or 6.3 mK in main-beam brightness temperature. The FAST GPPS HnαRRL observations are sensitive down to an emission measure of about 200 cm^(−6) pc if a 3σdetection limit is required. The new HnαRRL map shows complex structural features dominated by a number of HII regions and large extended diffuse ionized gas regions. We detect about 94%of the known HII regions and confirm 43 WISE HII regions in the observed sky area.Several large HII regions or star-forming complexes in the distant outer Galaxy are resolved in the map of HnαRRLs.Extended RRL features of the diffuse ionized gas are detected. In addition, the GPPS piggyback spectral-line data also provide sensitive detection for other kinds of RRLs,such as the Henα,Cnα,Hnβ,and HnγRRLs.The RRL data products of the GPPS survey will be published and updated at http://gffzz656c80eee53645cchcbnvvvk9w5xc6qkc.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/MilkyWayFAST/. | LiGang Hou JinLin Han Tao Hong XuYang Gao Chen Wang | 2022 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,12: | 0
Peering into the Milky Way by FAST:Ⅰ.Exquisite HI structures in the inner Galactic disk from the piggyback line observations of the FAST GPPS survey显示文摘Neutral hydrogen(Hi)is the fundamental component of the interstellar medium. The Galactic Plane Pulsar Snapshot(GPPS)survey is designed for hunting pulsars by using the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST)from the visible Galactic plane within|b|≤10°.The survey observations are conducted with the L-band 19-beam receivers in the frequency range of 1.0-1.5 GHz,and each pointing has an integration time of 5 min.The piggyback spectral data simultaneously recorded during the FAST GPPS survey are great resources for studies on the Galactic Hi distribution and ionized gas.We process the piggyback Hi data of the FAST GPPS survey in the region of 33°≤l≤55°and|b|≤2°.The rms of the data cube is found to be approximately 40 m K at a velocity resolution of 0.1 km s^(-1),placing it the most sensitive observations of the Galactic Hi by far.The high velocity resolution and high sensitivity of the FAST GPPS Hi data enable us to detect weak exquisite Hi structures in the interstellar medium.Hi absorption line with great details can be obtained against bright continuum sources. The FAST GPPS survey piggyback Hi data cube will be released and updated on the web:http://gffzz656c80eee53645cchcbnvvvk9w5xc6qkc.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/Milky Way FAST/. | Tao Hong JinLin Han LiGang Hou XuYang Gao Chen Wang Tao Wang | 2022 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,12: | 0

A new method to analyse pulsar nulling phenomenon显示文摘Pulsar nulling is a phenomenon of sudden cessation of pulse emission for a number of periods. The nulling fraction was often used to characterize the phenomenon. We propose a new method to analyse pulsar nulling phenomenon,by involving two key parameters, the nulling degree,χ,which is defined as the angle in a rectangular coordinates for the numbers of nulling periods and bursting periods, and the nulling scale,N,which is defined as the effective length of the consecutive nulling periods and bursting periods. The nulling degreeχcan be calculated by tanχ=Nnulling/Nburstingand the mean is related to the nulling fraction, while the nulling scale,N,is also a newly defined fundamental parameter which indicates how often the nulling occurs. We determined the distributions ofχand N for 10 pulsars by using the data in literature. We found that the nulling degreeχindicates the relative length of nulling to that of bursting, and the nulling scale N is found to be related to the derivative of rotation frequency and hence the loss rate of rotational energy of pulsars.Their deviations reflect the randomness of the nulling process. | YANG AiYuan HAN JinLin WANG Na | 2014 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,8: | 0
Systemic antibiotics increase microbiota pathogenicity and oral bone loss显示文摘Periodontitis is the most widespread oral disease and is closely related to the oral microbiota. The oral microbiota is adversely affected by some pharmacologic treatments.Systemic antibiotics are widely used for infectious diseases but can lead to gut dysbiosis, causing negative effects on the human body.Whether systemic antibiotic-induced gut dysbiosis can affect the oral microbiota or even periodontitis has not yet been addressed. In this research, mice were exposed to drinking water containing a cocktail of four antibiotics to explore how systemic antibiotics affect microbiota pathogenicity and oral bone loss. The results demonstrated, for the first time, that gut dysbiosis caused by long-term use of antibiotics can disturb the oral microbiota and aggravate periodontitis. Moreover, the expression of cytokines related to Th17 was increased while transcription factors and cytokines related to Treg were decreased in the periodontal tissue.Fecal microbiota transplantation with normal mice feces restored the gut microbiota and barrier, decreased the pathogenicity of the oral microbiota, reversed the Th17/Treg imbalance in periodontal tissue, and alleviated alveolar bone loss. This study highlights the potential adverse effects of long-term systemic antibiotics-induced gut dysbiosis on the oral microbiota and periodontitis.A Th17/Treg imbalance might be related to this relationship.Importantly, these results reveal that the periodontal condition of patients should be assessed regularly when using systemic antibiotics in clinical practice. | Xulei Yuan Fuyuan Zhou He Wang Xinxin Xu Shihan Xu Chuangwei Zhang Yanan Zhang Miao Lu Yang Zhang Mengjiao Zhou Han Li Ximu Zhang Tingwei Zhang Jinlin Song | 2023 | International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,1: | 0
Repeated Compton scattering in a strong magnetic field显示文摘Repeated scatterings of unpolarized photons by non-relativistic electrons in a static and uniform magnetic field are investigated by using the Boltzmann equation with quantum mechanical correction factors for the stimulated scattering effects. The resulting Kompaneets equation depends explicitly on the electron cyclotron frequency and the incidence angle of the incoming photons relative to the direction of the magnetic field. The evolutionary behavior of the photon spectrum and energy density is highly anisotropic with respect to the static external magnetic field.Possible applications of our results to the X-ray emission from compact and massive stellar objects are discussed in detail and those to the interaction of the microwave background radiation with the hot electrons in galactic clusters are discussed briefly. | WANG PengFei CHOU ChihKang HAN JinLin | 2012 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,10: | 0
Metformin ameliorates HMGB1-mediated oxidative stress through mTOR pathway in experimental periodontitis显示文摘Periodontitis is an oral chronic inflammatory disease.Inhibiting tissue destruction and promoting tissue regeneration are important means for the treatment of periodontitis.Metformin not only has hypoglycemic effect but also has anti-inflammatory effect.Metformin has been shown to inhibit oxidative stress and activate autophagy through AMPK/mTOR pathway.High mobility group box 1(HMGB1)has been implicated in the pathogenesis of many inflammatory diseases including periodontitis,it can participate in the induction of oxidative stress.HMGB1 is an autophagy regulator under oxidative stress, which can activate mTOR pathway. However,it is not clear whether metformin is related to HMGB1 and its mechanism in the process of periodontitis.Cell viability and expression of inflammatory cytokines were clarified by Cell Counting Kit-8,real-time PCR and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Western blot and immunofluorescence were conducted to determine HMGB1 intracellular localization and expression of autophagy-associated proteins in vitro.Experimental periodontitis mice model was induced by administering a ligature.Immunohistochemistry was performed to detect the expression and localization of HMGB1 in vivo. The results of CCK-8,real-time PCR,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,Western blot and immunofluorescence showed lipopolysaccharide(LPS)treatment inhibited cell viability, and increased HMGB1 expression at a dose-independent manner.Metformin can reduce the effect of LPS.It also improves autophagy pathway inhibited by LPS and down-regulates mTOR expression. In addition, metformin attenuated alveolar bone resorption induced by ligation. This study provides new evidence for that metformin is a potential drug for the treatment of periodontitis and HMGB1 may be a potential target for periodontal intervention. | Boyang Sun Siqi Ying Qian Ma Han Li Jie Li Jinlin Song | 2023 | Genes & Diseases2023,10,2: | 0
