4Comparative analysis of modern and ancient buried Phoebe zhennan wood:surface color,chemical components,infrared spectroscopy,and essential oil composition显示文摘We compared the chemical components and essential oils of ancient buried Zhennan(Phoebe zhennan)wood with those in samples from living trees.After removal of the carbon layer the recovered Zhennan exhibited a dark green color,which differed from the yellow color of the living samples.Low molecular weight components(including hot-water and toluene-alcohol extractives),hemicellulose,and 1 % Na OH solubility in the recovered wood were greatly degraded.Degradation of cellulose was minor.Moreover,the ancient wood had somewhat more klason lignin than the modern wood.Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) analysis gave further evidence on the differences in chemical components.According to the GC–MS results,naphthalene derivatives were detected in the essential oils from both the modern and recovered wood.The delicate fragrance of the modern and recovered wood may be attributed to the aromatic constituents as identified by GC–MS.Jiulong Xie Jinqiu Qi Xingyan Huang Ni Zhou Yao Hu 2015Journal of Forestry Research2015,26,2:8
5Single lithium-ion channel polymer binder for stabilizing sulfur cathodes显示文摘Lithium-sulfur batteries have great potential for high-performance energy-storage devices,yet the severe diffusion of soluble polysulfide to electrolyte greatly limits their practical applications.To address the above issues;herein we design and synthesize a novel polymer binder with single lithium-ion channels allowing fast lithium-ion transport while blocking the shuttle of unnecessary polysulfide anions.In situ UV-vis spectroscopy measurements reveal that the prepared polymer binder has effective immobilization to polysulfide intermediates.As expected,the resultant sulfur cathode achieves an excellent specific capacity of 1310 mAh g^-1 at 0.2 C,high Coulombic efficiency of 99.5%at 0.5 C after 100 cycles and stable cycling performance for 300 cycles at 1 C(1 C=1675 mAg^-1).This study reports a new avenue to assemble a polymer binder with a single lithium-ion channel for solving the serious problem of energy attenuation of lithium-sulfur batteries.Chaoqun Niu Jie Liu Tao Qian Xiaowei Shen Jinqiu Zhou Chenglin Yan 2020National Science Review2020,7,2:3
6Insight into the reaction mechanism of sulfur chains adjustable polymer cathode for high-loading lithium-organosulfur batteries显示文摘Small molecules with adjustable sulfur atoms in the confined structure were acted as precursor for the synthesis of polymer cathodes for lithium-organosulfur batteries.Among them,poly(diallyl tetrasulfide)(PDATtS)delivered a high capacity of 700 mAh g^(-1),stable capacity retention of 85%after 300 cycles,high areal capacity~4 m Ah cm^(-2) for electrode with up to 10.3 mg cm^(-2) loading.New insight into the reaction mechanism of PDATtS electrode that radicals arisen from the homolytic cleavage of S-S bond in PDATtS reacted with Li+to generate thiolates(RSLi)and insoluble lithium sulfides(Li_(2)S)or lithium disulfide(Li_(2)S_(2))was clearly verified by in-situ UV/Vis spectroscopy,nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)studies and density-functional theory(DFT)calculations.Therefore,based on the unique reaction mechanism,problems of rapid capacity fading due to the formation of soluble polysulfide intermediates and their serious shuttle effect in conventional lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries was totally avoided,realizing the dendrite-free lithium sulfur batteries.This study sets new trends for avenues of further research to advance Li-S battery technologies.Jinqiu Zhou Xi Zhou Yawen Sun Xiaowei Shen Tao Qian Chenglin Yan 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5:2

8The P124A mutation of SRP14 alters its migration on SDS-PAGE without impacting its function显示文摘SRP14 is a crucial protein subunit of the signal recognition particle(SRP),a ribonucleoprotein complex essential for co-translational translocation to the endoplasmic reticulum.During our investigation of SRP14 expression across diverse cell lines,we observe variations in its migration on sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electro-phoresis(SDS-PAGE),with some cells exhibiting slower migration and others migrating faster.However,the cause of this phenomenon remains elusive.Our research rules out alternative splicing as the cause and,instead,iden-tifies the presence of a P124A mutation in SRP14(SRP14P124A)among the faster-migrating variants,while the slower-migrating variants lack this mutation.Subsequent ectopic expression of wild-type SRP14P124 or SRP14WT and SRP14P124A in various cell lines confirms that the P124A mutation indeed leads to faster migration of SRP14.Further mutagenesis analysis shows that the P117A and A121P mutations within the alanine-rich domain at the C-terminus of SRP14 are responsible for migration alterations on SDS-PAGE,whereas mutations outside this domain,such as P39A,Y27F,and T45A,have no such effect.Furthermore,the ectopic expression of SRP14WT and SRP14P124A yields similar outcomes in terms of SRP RNA stability,cell morphology,and cell growth,indicating that SRP14P124A represents a natural variant of SRP14 and retains comparable functionality.In conclusion,the substitution of proline for alanine in the alanine-rich tail of SRP14 results in faster migration on SDS-PAGE,but has little effect on its function.Yaofu Liu Jinqiu Zhou 2024Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2024,56,2:0
9The polycaprolactone/silk fibroin/carbonate hydroxyapatite electrospun scaffold promotes bone reconstruction by regulating the polarization of macrophages显示文摘Macrophages are known to modulate the osteogenic environment of bone regeneration elicited by biological bone grafts.Alteration in certain chemical components tends to affect macrophages polarization.Comparatively to hydroxyapatite(HAp),carbonate hydroxyapatite(CHA)consists of 7.4(wt%)carbonate ions and more closely resembles the mineral content of bone.It remains unknown whether CHA scaffolds or HA scaffolds have better osteogenic properties.In this study,we fabricated PCL/SF scaffold,PCL/SF/HAp scaffold and PCL/SF/CHA scaffold using the electrospinning technique.Despite comparable mechanical properties,the PCL/SF/CHA scaffold exhibited better osteogenic properties than the PCL/SF/HAp scaffold.Although no significant differences were observed between the two scaffolds for promoting osteoblast differentiation in vitro,the PCL/SF/CHA group appeared to be more effective at promoting bone regeneration in cranial defects in vivo.The PCL/SF/CHA scaffold was found to promote macrophage polarization toward M2 via activating the JAK/STAT5 pathway which caused a pro-osteogenic microenvironment to facilitate osteoblast differentiation.The results of this study indicated a higher potential of CHA to substitute HAp in the production of bone scaffolds for better bone regeneration.Xiaoshi Jia Jing Zhou Jinqiu Ning Maoquan Li Yitong Yao Xiaodong Wang Yutao Jian Ke Zhao 2022Regenerative Biomaterials2022,9,1:0
10Design Rules of the Mixing Phase and Impacts on Device Performance in High-Efficiency Organic Photovoltaics显示文摘In nonfullerene acceptor-(NFA-)based solar cells,the exciton splitting takes place at both domain interface and donor/acceptor mixture,which brings in the state of mixing phase into focus.The energetics and morphology are key parameters dictating the charge generation,diffusion,and recombination.It is revealed that tailoringthe electronic properties of the mixing region by doping with larger-bandgap components could reduce the density of state but elevate the filling state level,leading to improved open-circuit voltage(V_(OC))and reduced recombination.The monomolecular and bimolecular recombinations are shown to be intercorrelated,which show a Gaussian-like relationship with V_(OC) and linear relationship with short-circuit current density(JSC)and fill factor(FF).The kinetics of hole transfer and exciton diffusion scale with JSC similarly,indicating the carrier generation in mixing region and crystalline domain are equally important.From the morphology perspective,the crystalline order could contribute to V_(OC) improvement,and the fibrillar structure strongly affects the FF.These observations highlight the importance of the mixing region and its connection with crystalline domains and point out the design rules to optimize the mixing phase structure,which is an effective approach to further improve device performance.Jingnan Song Ming Zhang Tianyu Hao Jun Yan Lei Zhu Guanqing Zhou Rui Zeng Wenkai Zhong Jinqiu Xu Zichun Zhou Xiaonan Xue Chun-Chao Chen Weihua Tang Haiming Zhu Zaifei Ma Zheng Tang Yongming Zhang Feng Liu 2022Research2022,,4:0
11Functional-selected LiF-intercalated-graphene enabling ultra-stable lithium sulfur battery显示文摘Using a functionally selective solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)as an anodic protection layer can effectively avoid the subsequent settlement of uneven lithium electrodeposits for lithium sulfur(Li-S)batteries.To address the issues of single functional,mechanical crushing and peeling of the conventional rigid LiF SEI,a unique functional-selected rigid-flexible-coupled LiF-intercalated-graphene(LiF-GN)SEI as anodic protection is constructed,which is verified by in-operando X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)spectra.Owing to the synergistic effect of the LiF and graphene layer,this intercalated functionalselected SEI architecture exhibits a dramatic elastic modulus(rigid-flexible coupling with a shallow Young’s modulus(~430 MPa)and a tremendous Young’s modulus of~20 GPa),high mechanical strength,and can be repulsive to polysulfides,accompanied unprecedented trafficability of Li ions.Consequently,the forceful exclusion of polysulfides from the LiF-GN SEI,as confirmed by means of in-situ UV/vis analysis,Li2 S nucleation tests,and visual permeation experiments,is of profound significance for the effective protection of Li anodes and enables Li-S batteries to achieve remarkable electrochemical performance(ultralow capacity decay rate of 0.022%during 300 cycles at 1 C and high discharge capacity of 1092 mAh/g at 0.5 C).Haoliang Lu Na Xu Xuyan Ni Jinqiu Zhou Jie Liu Zhenkang Wang Tao Qian Chenglin Yan 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,7:0
12TVseer:A visual analytics system for television ratings显示文摘The television ratings provide an effective way to analyze the popularity of TV programs and audiences’watching habits.Most previous studies have analyzed the ratings from a single perspective.Few efforts have integrated analysis from different perspectives and explored the reasons for changes in ratings.In this paper,we design a visual analysis system called TVseer to analyze audience ratings from three perspectives:TV channels,TV programs,and audiences.The system can help users explore the factors that affect ratings,and assist them in decisions about program productions and schedules.There are six linked views in TVseer:the channel ratings view and program ratings view show ratings change information from the perspective of TV channels and programs respectively;the overlapping program competition view and the same-type program competition view indicate the competitive relationships among programs;the audience transfer view shows how audiences are moving among different channels;the audience group view displays audience groups based on their watching behavior.Besides,we also construct case studies and expert interviews to prove our system is useful and effective.Xiaoyan Kui Huihao Lv Zhengliang Tang Haowen Zhou Wang Yang Jinqiu Li Jialin Guo Jiazhi Xia 2020Visual Informatics2020,4,3:0
13The structure-performance correlation of bulk-heterojunction organic solar cells with multi-length-scale morphology显示文摘We build a general multi-length-scale morphology model with mixing phase and pure phase fibril structure,and simulate corresponding organic solar cells performance.Systematical multi-length-scale morphology optimization process by changing the proportion of mixing phase and pure phase in different period width cases shows a clear correlation between period width and device performance that a smaller period width with appropriate proportion of mixing phase and fibril structure is advantageous to achieve high-performance devices.Experiments on multiple donor/acceptor blends have been carried out by varying the composition and processing condition,which afford good structure-performance correlation that supports the model prediction.It is demonstrated that building such a multi-length-scale morphology merging the synergistic effects of mixing and pure phases is indeed an imperative avenue to improve device efficiency.Tianyu Hao Wenkai Zhong Shifeng Leng Rui Zeng Ming Zhang Lei Zhu Yankang Yang Jingnan Song Jinqiu Xu Guanqing Zhou Yecheng Zou Yongming Zhang Feng Liu 2022Science China Chemistry2022,65,8:0
