5Heterogeneous Reactions between Starch and AKD under Solvent-free Conditions显示文摘Oxidized starch powder and cationic starch solution were reacted with alkyl ketene dimer(AKD) under heterogeneous conditions at 70℃ for 12 h.The AKD molecules reacted with starch hydroxyl groups to form β-keto ester linkages under the above conditions.The reaction products were separated into CHCl_3-soluble and CHCl_3-insoluble fractions.FT-IR spectroscopy,SEM,Xray diffraction,and TG-DTA analyses of the CHCl_3-insoluble fraction indicated that β-keto ester substituents were introduced to hydroxyl groups on the starch surfaces.The results indicated that hydrogen bonds between the starch molecules were disrupted under heterogeneous conditions upon heating.The activity and accessibility of hydroxyl groups were enhanced,as a result of which β-keto ester bonds were produced between AKD and starch.Based on these results,we speculate that the β-keto esters which existed in the sheets sized by AKD emulsions were generated by the reaction between AKD and starch.ShanShan Gao XiaoMing Song FuShan Chen LianQing Huang JunXun Li SongLin Wang 2016Paper And Biomaterials2016,1,2:1

7Using redundant parallel architecture to improve speaker recognition performance显示文摘In this paper, we propose two kinds of modifications in speaker recognition. First, the correlations between frequency channels are of prime importance for speaker recognition. Some of these correlations are lost when the frequency domain is divided into sub-bands. Consequently we propose a particularly redundant parallel architecture for which most of the correlations are kept. Second, generally a log transformation used to modify the power spectrum is done after the filter-bank in the classical spectrum calculation. We will see that performing this transformation before the filter bank is more interesting in our case. In the processing of recognition, the Gaussian mixture model (GMM) recognition arithmetic is adopted. 10Exploring luminescence quenching on lanthanide-doped nanoparticles through changing the spatial distribution of sensitizer and activator显示文摘Luminescence quench is common in overdoped upconversion nanoparticles.Various methods have been proposed to counteract the adverse effects of concentration quenching on luminescence,but in upconversion nanoparticles that are highly doped with both sensitizers and activators,the factors that contribute to the diminishing of the emission cannot be summarized by a single cause.Herein,a core-shell design is used to spatially separate the sensitizer(Yb^(3+))and activator(Er^(3+))and to modulate the emission by changes in the distribution position as well as the concentration of the dopant ions in order to probe the factors affecting the luminescence.When the sensitizer ions are located in the core,the luminescence intensity of the nanoparticles is significantly weaker than that of the other distribution,which implies that the effect of sensitizer and activator on luminescence in the highly doped state has a different and more complex mechanism.The intensity of the emission is more affected by Yb^(3+)than Er^(3+),which includes not only the self-quenching of Yb^(3+),but also the dominance in the Yb^(3+)-Er^(3+)cross-relaxation.In this finding may provide new ideas for revealing the reasons for the diminished luminescence of highly doped upconversion nanoparticles and thus for enhancing luminescence.Jiwei Li Yao Xie Renrui Sun Junxun Zhou Lining Sun 2024Nano Research2024,17,5:0
11Protein phosphatase 6 (Pp6) is crucial for regulatory T cell function and stability in autoimmunity显示文摘Regulatory T(T_(reg))cells constitute a dynamic population that is critical in autoimmunity.T_(reg) cell therapies for autoimmune diseases are mainly focused on enhancing their suppressive activities.However,recent studies demonstrated that certain inflammatory conditions induce T_(reg) cell instability with diminished FoxP3 expression and convert them into pathogenic effector cells.Therefore,the identification of novel targets crucial to both T_(reg) cell function and plasticity is of vital importance to the development of therapeutic approaches in autoimmunity.In this study,we found that conditional Pp6 knockout(cKO)in T_(reg) cells led to spontaneous autoinflammation,immune cell activation,and diminished levels of FoxP3 in CD4^(+)T cells in mice.Loss of Pp6 in T_(reg) cells exacerbated two classical mouse models of T_(reg)-related autoinflammation.Mechanistically,Pp6 deficiency increased CpG motif methylation of the FoxP3 locus by dephosphorylating Dnmt1 and enhancing Akt phosphorylation at Ser473/Thr308,leading to impaired FoxP3 expression in T_(reg) cells.In summary,our study proposes Pp6 as a critical positive regulator of FoxP3 that acts by decreasing DNA methylation of the FoxP3 gene enhancer and inhibiting Akt signaling,thus maintaining T_(reg) cell stability and preventing autoimmune diseases.Wei Cai Junxun Zhang Hong Zhou Xiangxiao Li Fangzhou Lou Yang Sun Zhenyao Xu Jing Bai Qianqian Yin Zhikai Wang Libo Sun Xiaojie Cai Sibei Tang Yue Wu Li Fan Hong Wang Honglin Wang Qun Li 2022Genes & Diseases2022,9,2:0
