1Mercury removal from coal combustion flue gas by modified fly ash显示文摘Fly ash is a potential alternative to activated carbon for mercury adsorption. The effects of physicochemical properties on the mercury adsorption performance of three fly ash samples were investigated. X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and other methods were used to characterize the samples. Results indicate that mercury adsorption on fly ash is primarily physisorption and chemisorption. High specific surface areas and small pore diameters are beneficial to efficient mercury removal. Incompletely burned carbon is also an important factor for the improvement of mercury removal efficiency, in particular. The C-M bond, which is formed by the reaction of C and Ti, Si and other elements, may improve mercury oxidation. The samples modified with CuBr2 , CuCl 2 and FeCl3 showed excellent performance for Hg removal, because the chlorine in metal chlorides acts as an oxidant that promotes the conversion of elemental mercury (Hg0) into its oxidized form (Hg2+). Cu2+ and Fe3+ can also promote Hg 0 oxidation as catalysts. HCl and O2 promote the adsorption of Hg by modified fly ash, whereas SO2 inhibits the Hg adsorption because of competitive adsorption for active sites. 2Reconstruction of May——July precipitation in the north Helan Mountain, Inner Mongolia since A.D. 1726 from tree-ring late-wood widths显示文摘By analyzing statistical characteristics of five tree-ring standard chronologies, early-wood ring width (EWW), late-wood ring width (LWW), total ring width (TRW), minimum early-wood density (MinD), maximum late-wood density (MaxD) and, their climatic response re-spectively, we reconstructed the May to July precipitation using late-wood ring width (LWW) over the north Helan Mountain since A.D. 1726. The explained variance is 42% (R2adj = 41%, F = 31.46, p < 0.000001). After 11-a moving average, the explained variance reaches 82% (F = 156.9, p < 0.05). On the decadal scale, the rainfall reconstruction of the northern Helan Mountain displays a quite similar variation pattern with that of the April to early July precipitation in Baiyinaobao, east of Inner Mongolia for the last 150 years. It may reflect the intensity variation of the East Asia Summer Monsoon front to a certain extent. 3Advances in low-protein diets for swine显示文摘Recent years have witnessed the great advantages of reducing dietary crude protein(CP) with free amino acids(AA)supplementation for sustainable swine industry, including saving protein ingredients, reducing nitrogen excretion, feed costs and the risk of gut disorders without impairing growth performance compared to traditional diets. However, a tendency toward increased fatness is a matter of concern when pigs are fed low-protein(LP) diets. In response, the use of the net energy system and balanced AA for formulation of LP diets has been proposed as a solution. Moreover, the extent to which dietary CP can be reduced is complicated. Meanwhile, the requirements for the first five limiting AA(lysine, threonine, sulfur-containing AA, tryptophan, and valine) that growing-finishing pigs fed LP diets were higher than pigs fed traditional diets, because the need for nitrogen for endogenous synthesis of non-essential AA to support protein synthesis may be increased when dietary CP is lowered. 4Optimization Transmission Theory and Technical Pathways that Describe Multiscale Urban Agglomeration Spaces显示文摘Urban agglomerations are spatial entities that promote the development of ‘new urbanization' processes within China. In this context, the concept of ‘multiscale urban agglomeration spaces' encompasses three linked levels: macroscale urban agglomerations, mesoscale cities, and microscale urban centers. Applying a series of multidisciplinary integrated research methods drawn from geography, urban planning, and architecture, this paper reveals two intensive utilization laws that can be generalized to apply to multiscale urban agglomeration spaces, top-to-bottom ‘positive transmission' linkage and inside-to-outside ‘negative transmission' movement. This paper also proposes optimization transmission theory and policy decision technical pathways that can be applied to these three urban agglomeration spatial scales. Specific technical pathways of transmission include intensive expansion and simulated decision-making in macroscale urban agglomerations, ecology, production, and living space intensive layout and dynamic decision-making in mesoscale cities, and four cores(i.e., ‘single, ring, axis, and pole core') progressive linkage and intensive optimization decision-making in microscale urban centers. The theory and technical pathways proposed in this paper solve the technical problem of optimization and provide intensive methods that can be applied not only at the individual level but also at multiple scales in urban agglomeration spaces. This study also advances a series of comprehensive technical solutions that can be applied to both compact and smart growth cities as well as to urban agglomerations. 5CapOX as neoadjuvant chemotherapy for locally advanced operable colon cancer patients: a prospective single-arm phase Ⅱ trial显示文摘Objective: The aim of this prospective, single-arm phase II trial was to confirm the safety and efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC) using oxaliplatin plus capecitabine(Cap OX) for patients with operable locally advanced colon cancer(CC).Methods: Patients with computed tomography-defined T4 or lymph node-positive CCs were enrolled. After radiological staging, patients were treated with at least 2 cycles of NAC consisting of 130 mg/m2 oxaliplatin on d 1,plus 1,000 mg/m2 capecitabine twice daily for 14 d every 3 weeks, followed by surgery, and then with the rest cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy. Radiological response was evaluated after 2 cycles of NAC. Tumor response, treatment toxicity, and surgical complications were recorded. The pathological response to therapy was evaluated according to the tumor regression grade(TRG) score. The primary endpoint was pathologic tumor response. This trial is registered in Clinical Trials.gov(No: NCT02415829).Results: Forty-seven patients were enrolled in the study. Forty-two patients completed the planned treatments.The total radiological response rate was 68%(32/47), including complete and partial response rates of 2%(1/47)and 66%(31/47), respectively. Stable disease was observed in 32%(15/47) and progressive disease was observed in none. Complete pathologic response, major regression, and at least moderate regression were achieved in 1(2%), 2(4%), and 29(62%) patients, respectively. Four patients developed grade 3 treatment toxicities. One patient with wound infection occurred after operation(1/47, 2%). 6Immunomodulatory effect of human amniotic epithelial cells on restoration of ovarian function in mice with autoimmune ovarian disease显示文摘Autoimmune ovarian disease(AOD)is considered to be a major cause of premature ovarian failure(POF).The immunomodulatory properties of human amniotic epithelial cells(hAECs)have been studied in many disease models.We previously reported that hAECs restored ovarian function in chemotherapy-induced POF mice,but the immunomodulatory mechanism of hAECs is still unclear.To investigate the effect of hAECs on recipient mice,especially on regulatory Treg cells,hAECs and hAEC-conditioned medium(hAEC-CM)were intravenously injected into AOD mice immunized with zona pellucida protein 3 peptides(pZP3).Ovarian function was evaluated through estrous cycle,hormone secretion,follicle development,and cell apoptosis analysis.Immune cells including CD3,CD4,CD8 and Treg cells in the spleens were tested by flow cytometry.To elucidate the effect of hAEC-CM on macrophage function,inflammation model in vitrowas established in RAW264.7 cells induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS).hAECs and hAEC-CM regulated estrous cycles,promoted follicle development,ameliorated cell apoptosis and fibrosis in ovaries of AOD mice.In addition,hAECs significantly reversed the decrease of pZP3-induced Treg cells in the spleens.In vitro,hAEC-CM significantly inhibited the inflammatory reaction induced by LPS in RAW264.7 cells via up-regulating the expression of M2 macrophage genes.Further study demonstrated that hAECsecreted transforming growth factor-beta and macrophage inhibitory factor played important roles in the macrophage polarization and migration under inflammatory stimulation.Taken together,hAECs restored ovarian function by up-regulating Treg cells in the spleens and reduced the inflammatory reaction via modulating the activated macrophage function in a paracrine manner in the ovaries of AOD mice.Qiuwan Zhang Yating Huang Junyan Sun Tingting Gu Xiaoyan Shao Dongmei Lai 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,8:14
7Artemisinin derivatives inhibit epithelial ovarian cancer cells via autophagy-mediated cell cycle arrest显示文摘Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC)is the most fatal gynecologic malignancy due to its late diagnosis and lack of curative therapy.The antimalaria compound artemisinin and its derivatives,such as artesunate (ART)and dihydroartemisinin (DHA),have proven to be potent anticancer drugs and act through various anticancer mechanisms.To identify novel targets of artemisinin derivatives in EOC cells,we investigated the effects of ART and DHA on SKOV3 and primary EOC cell growth via CCK-8 assay.Both ART and DHA inhibited EOC cell growth.A cell cycle distribution analysis showed that ART and DHA caused G2/M cell cycle arrest.Moreover,ART and DHA induced autophagy in EOC cells,whereas autophagy inhibitors reversed the cell growth inhibition and cell cycle arrest induced by ART and DHA.Western blot analysis showed that ART and DHA also suppressed the cell cycle-related NF-κB-signaling pathway in EOC cells.These data suggest that artemisinin derivatives induce autophagy,block the cell cycle,and inhibit cell growth in EOC cells.Our research provides new targets for artemisinin derivatives for EOC treatment.Boning Li Shixia Bu Junyan Sun Ying Guo Dongmei Lai 2018Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2018,50,12:11
8Tree-ring-based reconstruction of the April to September mean temperature since 1826 AD for north-central Shaanxi Province,China显示文摘Long-time series of high-resolution temperature record from Chinese Loess Plateau is rare. An April-September mean temperature reconstruction (1826-2004) has been developed for the north-central Shaanxi Province, China, based on tree-ring width analysis. The reconstruction captures 39.3% (p<0.001) of the variance in the instrumental data over the calibration period from 1951 to 2002. The reconstruction shows a high temperature period of 1928-1933, which coincides with the timing of the extreme drought event in 1920s in the entire northern China. The two low temperature periods in reconstruction are 1883-1888 and 1938-1942. With the global warming, the April-September mean temperature in study area has also increased since the 1970s, but has not exceeded the temperature in 1928-1933. 9Effects of Land Use Change on Ecosystem Services in Arid Area Ecological Migration显示文摘Ecological migration is the process of increasing the population density in the immigration area and transferring the ecological pressure from emigration area to immigration area. This process may result in significant changes in land use and land cover in the area of immigration and have an important effect on ecosystem services. Therefore, scientifically revealing the effects and differentiation mechanisms of ecological migration on ecosystem services is becoming an important issue related to the implementation of the national ecological migration strategy in China. This study employed the Hongsibu District as a typical example of ecological migration. Hongsibu District is located in the central Ningxia steppe and desert steppe areas. Remote sensing data covering five periods from the period before ecological migration in 1995 and after migration in 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015 was used to measure the value of ecosystem services(ESV). A geographical detector model and the value of ecosystem services model were used to diagnose the dynamic mechanism of the effects of land use change on ecosystem services. The results showed that: 1) The development of large-scale ecological resettlement has caused the area of cultivated land and urbanized land area to increase significantly in the area of immigration, while the grass area decreased significantly. 2) The overall value of the Hongsibu ecosystem services increased in a form of a ‘V'. Among them, during the period of 1995–2005, the overall ESV decreased and had an annual rate of change of-0.67%. During the period of development 2005–2015, the ESV increased steadily, with an annual rate of change of 0.79%. 3) The proportion and total ESV in soil formation and protection, waste treatment, and biodiversity conservation of the Hongsibu District decreased from 57.61% in 1995 to 56.17% in 2015, indicating that the region's ecological regulation function slightly decreased. 4) The ESV in the Hongsibu District, showed a low distribution pattern of ecosystem services increasing from northeast to southwest, and the capacity of three townships, Hongsibu, Taiyangshan, and Liuquan, to provide ecosystem services gradually declined over time. 10MicroRNA-324-3p Plays A Protective Role Against Coxsackievirus B3-Induced Viral Myocarditis显示文摘Viral myocarditis(VM) is an inflammatory disease of the myocardium associated with heart failure, which is caused by common viral infections. A majority of the infections are initiated by coxsackievirus B3(CVB3). Micro RNAs(mi RNAs)have a major role in various biological processes, including gene expression, cell growth, proliferation, and apoptosis, as well as viral infection and antiviral immune responses. Although, mi RNAs have been found to regulate viral infections,their role in CVB3 infection remains poorly understood. In the previous study, mi RNA microarray results showed that mi R-324-3 p expression levels were significantly increased when cells and mice were infected with CVB3. It was also found that miR-324-3p downregulated TRIM27 and decreased CVB3 replication in vitro and in vivo. In vitro, analysis of downstream signaling of TRIM27 revealed that, miR-324-3p inhibited CVB3 infection, and reduced cytopathic effect and viral plaque formation by reducing the expression of TRIM27. In vivo, miR-324-3p decreased the expression of TRIM27,reduced cardiac viral replication and load, thereby strongly attenuating cardiac injury and inflammation. 11The forecast of seasonal precipitation trend at the north Helan Mountain and Baiyinaobao regions, Inner Mongolia for the next 20 years显示文摘By using Caterpillar-SSA analysis method, through the process of embedding, singular value decompo-sition, grouping and diagonal averaging, the seasonal pre-cipitation trend at north Helan Mountain and Baiyinaobo regions, Inner Mongolia for the next 20 years is forecasted. The results show an increasing precipitation trend from 1992 to 2004. In the subsequent decade the precipitation should reduce quickly, and it will reach a minimum near 2012 to 2014 in both regions. The drought caused by the decrease of the precipitation from May to July in the north Helan Mountain area during the period of 2013—2014 is probably quite similar to that around 1929. 12Pharmacogenetic Correlates of Antipsychotic-Induced Weight Gain in the Chinese Population显示文摘Antipsychotic-induced weight gain(AIWG) is a common adverse effect of this treatment, particularly with second-generation antipsychotics, and it is a major health problem around the world. We aimed to review the progress of pharmacogenetic studies on AIWG in the Chinese population to compare the results for Chinese with other ethnic populations, identify the limitations and problems of current studies, and provide future research directions in China. Both English and Chinese electronic databases were searched to identify eligible studies. We determined that [ 25 single-nucleotide polymorphisms in19 genes have been investigated in association with AIWG in Chinese patients over the past few decades. HTR2 C rs3813929 is the most frequently studied single-nucleotide polymorphism, and it seems to be the most strongly associated with AIWG in the Chinese population. However, many genes that have been reported to be associated with AIWG in other ethnic populations have not beenincluded in Chinese studies. 13Mitochondrial tRNA^(Glu) A14693G variant may modulate the phenotypic manifestation of deafness-associated 12S rRNA A1555G mutation in a Han Chinese family显示文摘Mutations in mitochondrial 12S rRNA gene are one of the most important causes of aminoglycoside-induced and nonsyndromic hear- ing loss. Here we report the characterization of one Han Chinese pedigree with aminoglycoside-induced and nonsyndromic hearing loss. This Chinese family carrying the 12S rRNA A1555G mutation exhibited high penetrance and expressivity of hearing impairment. In par- ticular, penetrances of hearing loss in this family pedigree were 43.8% and 25%, respectively, when aminoglycoside-induced hearing loss was included or excluded. Mutational analysis of entire mitochondrial genomes in this family showed the homoplasmic A1555G mutation and a set of variants belonging to haplogroup Y2. Of these, the A14693G variant occurred at the extremely conserved nucleotide (conven- tional position 54) of the TΨC-loop of tRNAGlu and was absent in 156 Chinese controls. Nucleotides at position 54 of tRNAs are often modified, thereby contributing to the structural formation and stabilization of functional tRNAs. Thus, the structural alteration of tRNA by the A14693G variant may lead to a failure in tRNA metabolism and impair mitochondrial protein synthesis, thereby worsening mito- chondrial dysfunctions altered by the A1555G mutation. 16Hydrophobic, mechanical, and tribological properties of fluorine incorporated hydrogenated fullerene-like carbon films显示文摘Fluorine-incorporated hydrogenated fullerene-like nanostructure amorphous carbon films(F-FLC)were synthesized by employing the direct current plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition(dc-PECVD)technique using a mixture of methane(CH4),tetra-fluoromethane(CF4),and hydrogen(H2)as the working gases.The effect of the fluorine content on the bonding structure,surface roughness,hydrophobic,mechanical,and tribological properties of the films was systematically investigated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Raman analysis,atomic force microscope(AFM),contact angle goniometer,nano-indenter,and reciprocating ball-on-disc tester,respectively.The fluorine content in the films increased from 0 to 2.1 at.%as the CF4 gas flow ratio increased from 0 to 3 sccm,and incorporated fluorine atoms existed in the form of C-FX(X=1,2,3)bonds in the film.The fullerene nanostructure embedded in the hydrogenated amorphous carbon films was confirmed by Raman analysis.The water contact angle was significantly increased because of fluorine doping,which indicates that the hydrophobicity of the carbon films could be adjusted to some extent by the fluorine doping.The hardness and elastic modulus of the films remained relatively high(22 GPa)as the fluorine content increased.Furthermore,the friction coefficient of the carbon films was significantly reduced and the wear resistance was enhanced by fluorine doping.Li QIANG Bin ZHANG Kaixiong GAO Zhenbin GONG Junyan ZHANG 2013Friction2013,1,4:6
17Tree-ring based PDSI reconstruction since 1853 AD in the source of the Fenhe River Basin,Shanxi Province,China显示文摘A robust tree-ring-width chronology was developed from two Pinus tabulaeformis sampling sites in the source of the Fenhe River,Shanxi Province,China.Based on the tree-ring-width indices,a 157-year long Palmer Drought Severity Index(PDSI) was reconstructed,which explains 53.7% of the variance of the modeled PDSI over the common period 1957-2008.The drought periods in the study area include 1914-1931 and 1970 to the present,whereas the wet periods were 1866-1892 and 1932-1969.The drought of 1914-1931 was a severe long-lasting drought with a low inter-annual variability,and the drought of 1970-2009 was an overall long-term drought with a high inter-annual variability.The period of 1866-1892 is a continuously wet period with a low inter-annual variability and the period of 1932-1969 is an overall long-term wet period with a high inter-annual variability.The reconstructed PDSI series in the source of the Fenhe River shows synchronous variations with the regional drought/wetness indices.Spatial correlation analyses indicate that the higher correlations lie exclusively in the Fenhe River Basin.This indicates that the reconstructed PDSI has regional representativeness and can represent the drought history of the entire Fenhe River Basin to some extent.Furthermore,the reconstructed PDSI matches with the variability of the per unit yield of summer grain crops in Shanxi Province very well and they have significant correlation.From a long-term perspective the reconstructed PDSI series could supply scientific and valuable information to the water resources management and then help the sustainable development in agricultural production,economic development,and ecosystem balance.SUN JunYan LIU Yu SUN Bo WANG RuiYuan 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,11:6

19Structural control of silica aerogel fibers for methylene blue removal显示文摘The development of efficient adsorbents is significant for the miniaturization and cost reduction of water purifying facility. In our previous study, a new kind of silica aerogel fibers(SAFs) with hierarchical structure and hollow structure were developed, which shows outstanding mass transport property and adsorption performance. Herein, we further control and study the hierarchical structure and hollow structure of silica aerogel fibers by changing the sulfuric acid concentration of ageing bath and spinning speed. For removing methylene blue, A0 W120 SAFs sample, with DI water as ageing bath and a winding speed of 120 mm/s,presents the best mass transport property and adsorption performance, as they possess larger pore sizes in the outer layer, thinner fiber wall and higher degree of hollowness. The removal rates of methylene blue by A0 W120 SAFs sample is up to 91.6% and 98.2% in 2 and 5 min, respectively, which are at least 30% higher than other comparable commercial adsorbents, while the adsorption capacity of methylene blue reaches up to 139.1 mg/g.MENG Si ZHANG JunYan XU Wen CHEN WenPing ZHU LiPing ZHOU Zhe ZHU MeiFang 2019Science China(Technological Sciences)2019,62,6:5
20Exploration and practice of general practitioner responsibility system in an urban community of Shanghai显示文摘Objective:The Minhang district of Shanghai was selected as the subject and its public health management model was investigated.Methods:Minhang became a pilot location for the implementation of the general practitioner responsibility system(GPRS)in 2011.Since then,the management model of public health services in the district has gradually merged with the GPRS through a series of actions:the adjustment of organizations and the coordination mechanism in community public health services,the integration of basic public health services and clinic practice,the establishment of an informationized Internet service platform,comprehensive budgeting management of public health service programs,and performance assessment management of health workers.Results:By the end of 2014,the number of residents who had a contractual relationship with a general practitioner(GP)in Minhang had reached 1.4367 million and all of them had family health records.Compared with 2010,both the rate of maternal management and the rate of children management stayed at high level(≥96%),the rate of hypertension management increased(40.73%vs.28.70%),the rate of blood pressure control increased(82.13%vs.77.51%),the incidence of diabetes decreased(21.93%vs.37.85%),the rate of effective control of blood glucose for dia-betic patients increased(82.43%vs.62.77%),and the rate of child health management increased(99.79%vs.91.54%).Conclusion:The GPRS has helped to create a better community health environment.How-ever,the development of this system is limited by several factors,including the following:the shortage of GPs,most GPs do not have good public health service skills and a correct public health concept,unclear division of different services,and imperfect department coordination.Yan Wu Yanping Zhao Xiaoxia Huang Junyan Wang Huilin Xu Hualin Su 2015Family Medicine and Community Health2015,3,4:5
