2Arabidopsis ROOT HAIR DEFECTIVE3 is involved in nitrogen starvation-induced anthocyanin accumulation显示文摘Anthocyanin accumulation is a common phenomenon seen in plants under environmental stress. In this study,we identified a new allele of ROOT HAIR DEFECTIVE3(RHD3)showing an anthocyanin overaccumulation phenotype under nitrogen starvation conditions. It is known that ethylene negatively regulates light- and sucrose-induced anthocyanin biosynthesis. We hypothesized that RHD3 achieves its negative effect on anthocyanin biosynthesis via an ethylene-regulating pathway. In support of this, similar to rhd3 mutants, the Arabidopsis ethylene signaling mutants etr1, ein2, and ein3/eil1 showed an anthocyanin overaccumulation phenotype under nitrogen starvation conditions. The ethylene precursor ACC strongly suppressed anthocyanin accumulation, dependent on ETR1, EIN2, EIN3/EIL1, and, partially, RHD3. In addition,inactivating RHD3 partially reversed the suppressive effect of ETO1 inactivation-evoked endogenous ethylene production on anthocyanin accumulation. The expression of nitrogen starvation-induced anthocyanin biosynthesis genes was negatively regulated by RHD3, but ethylene response genes were Researchpositively regulated by RHD3. Wild-type seedlings overexpressing RHD3 showed similar phenotypes to rhd3 mutants,indicating the existence of a fine-tuned relationship between gene expression and function. RHD3 was initially identified as a gene involved in root hair development. 3Kinetics of FeSe_2 oxidation by ferric iron and its reactivity compared with FeS_2显示文摘The mobility and bioavailability of selenium is a major health and environmental issue and a main concern for geological disposal of high-level radioactive waste. Chemically and/or microbially mediated oxidation of insoluble Se-bearing particulate, such as iron selenides, to dissolved and mobile phases controls the transport and distribution of Se in the environment. The oxidation of ferroselite(FeSe2) by ferric iron was investigated in anoxic conditions. The redox reaction can be represented by: FeSe2 + 2Fe3+ = 2Se0 + 3Fe2+. Kinetic studies indicated that the reaction can be described by second-order rate law, with rate constants of 0.49±0.01, 0.85±0.02, 1.84±0.04, and 3.29±0.13 L mol-1 s-1 at pH 1.62, 1.87, 2.23, and 2.49, respectively. The positive correlation between reaction rate and pH implies that diffusion of Fe3+ oxidant to the mineral surface is the rate-determining step. The strong reactivity of FeSe2 towards Fe3+ suggests that ferric iron may play a significant role in FeSe2 oxidation process(e.g., by Se4+, O2, etc.) and Se0 should be the first reaction product. Also, it was shown that the reduction rate of Fe3+ or Se4+ by pyrite(FeS2) can be significantly increased in the presence of FeSe2, suggesting a stronger reactivity of FeSe2 compared with pyrite. 4AtPEPTIDE RECEPTOR_2 mediates the AtPEPTIDE1‐induced cytosolic Ca^(2+) trise, which is required for the suppression of Glutamine Dumper gene expression in Arabidopsis roots显示文摘AtPEPTIDE RECEPTOR2(AtPEPR2) is a member of leucine‐rich repeat receptor‐like kinase family and binds to a group of AtPROPEP gene‐encoded endogenous peptides,AtPeps. Previously, we found that AtPEPR2 plays a moderate role in the AtPep1‐mediated innate immunity responses in Arabidopsis leaf. In this study, we found that AtPEPR2promoter has strong activity in the vascular tissues of the roots and the atpepr2 mutants showed a moderate but significantly shorter root phenotype. AtPEPR2 partially mediated AtPep1‐induced root elongation inhibition. AtPep1‐triggered cytosolic Ca2ttransient rise in roots showed partial dependence on AtPEPR2 and fully on extracellular Ca2t([Ca2t]ext). Transcriptional profiling analysis found that expression of 75% of AtPep1‐modulated genes in roots was fully dependent on AtPEPR2, of which two dramatically induced genes showed partial dependence on the [Ca2t]ext.Arabidopsis genome contains seven Glutamine Dumpers genes(AtGDUs), encoding amino acid exporters. Three of them(AtGDU2, 3, 5) were among the top 10 genes that were downregulated by AtPep1 through AtPEPR2 fully dependent pathway. Treatment with AtPep1 strongly suppressed promoter activity of AtGDU3 in roots, which was relieved by chelating [Ca2t]ext. Arabidopsis overexpressing AtGDU3showed a shorter root phenotype and decreased sensitivity to the AtPep1‐mediated inhibition of root elongation. 8Hydrogel platform with tunable stiffness based on magnetic nanoparticles cross-linked GelMA for cartilage regeneration and its intrinsic biomechanism显示文摘Cartilage injury affects numerous individuals,but the efficient repair of damaged cartilage is still a problem in clinic.Hydrogel is a potent scaffold candidate for tissue regeneration,but it remains a big challenge to improve its mechanical property and figure out the interaction of chondrocytes and stiffness.Herein,a novel hybrid hydrogel with tunable stiffness was fabricated based on methacrylated gelatin(GelMA)and iron oxide nanoparticles(Fe_(2)O_(3))through chemical bonding.The stiffness of Fe_(2)O_(3)/GelMA hybrid hydrogel was controlled by adjusting the concentration of magnetic nanoparticles.The hydrogel platform with tunable stiffness modulated its cellular properties including cell morphology,microfilaments and Young’s modulus of chondrocytes.Interestingly,Fe_(2)O_(3)/GelMA hybrid hydrogel promoted oxidative phosphorylation of mitochondria and facilitated catabolism of lipids in chondrocytes.As a result,more ATP and metabolic materials generated for cellular physiological activities and organelle component replacements in hybrid hydrogel group compared to pure GelMA hydrogel.Furthermore,implantation of Fe_(2)O_(3)/GelMA hybrid hydrogel in the cartilage defect rat model verified its remodeling potential.This study provides a deep understanding of the bio-mechanism of Fe_(2)O_(3)/GelMA hybrid hydrogel interaction with chondrocytes and indicates the hydrogel platform for further application in tissue engineering.Chenchen Zhou Chunli Wang Kang Xu Zhixing Niu Shujuan Zou Demao Zhang Zhiyong Qian Jinfeng Liao Jing Xie 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,7:1

14The Change in Outgoing Long-wave Radiation before the Ludian Ms6.5 Earthquake Based on Tidal Force Niche Cycles显示文摘The cycle process of the tidal force niche for the Ludian M_S6.5 earthquake occurring in Ludian County, Yunnan Province, China on August 3, 2014 was calculated. The earthquake occurred near the middle point phase. It indicates that the type of seismogenic fault that the tide force acted on belongs to the thrust fault. According to the tidal niche cycle,the abnormal OLR( Outgoing Long-wave Radiation) change was analyzed based on NOAA satellite data around the whole land area of China before and after the earthquake.The result shows that the OLR changed evidently with tide force change. Temporally,the change went through the evolution process of initial OLR rise → strengthening → abnormal peaking → attenuation → returning to normal; and spatially,the abnormal area wound its way along the Zhaotong-Ludian fault and went through a scattered → conversion →scattered process. This process is similar to the change process of rock breaking under stress loading. The results indicate that the tidal force of a celestial body could trigger an earthquake when the tectonic stress reaches its critical breaking point and the OLR anomaly is proportional to the seismic tectonic stress change. 17Possible Thermal Brightness Temperature Anomalies Associated with the Yutian (China) M_S7.3 Earthquake on February 12,2014显示文摘In order to analyze the seismic brightness temperature anomalies associated with the Yutian earthquake which occurred at Yutian County, Xinjiang on February 12,2014, daily brightness temperature data was collected from the China Geostationary Meteorological Satellite FY-2E,for the period from May 1,2012 to April 30,2014 and the geographical extent of 30°- 45°N latitude and 70°- 95°E longitude. The continuous wavelet transform method was used to analyze the relative wavelet power spectrum( RWPS) of brightness temperature data for each pixel. And the RWPS time-spatial evolution within the analysis area was obtained. The results showed that the anomaly started to appear at the vicinity of epicentre since October 2013, and anomalous areas gradually enlarged and stretched towards to Altun fault zone and the eastern part of West Kunlun fault zone. Anomalies began to appear at fault zones at Middle Tianshan Mountains, Southern Tianshan Mountains and the western part of the West Kunlun Mountains area which is located at the western margin of Tarim basin,since November 2013. Then anomalous area further enlarged and gathered along fault zones,and eventually,anomalous belts were developed along fault zones around the Tarim basin. The anomaly area and amplitude reached their maximum in late December 2013 and early January 2014. With the impending earthquake,the anomaly area and amplitude dwindled. Anomalies at the vicinity of epicentre disappeared days before the occurrence of the main shock. However, the anomaly at Altun and Middle Tianshan areas still remained.
