| 1 | Sedimentary Facies of Marine Shale Gas Formations in Southern China: The Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation in the Southern Sichuan Basin显示文摘Sedimentary facies is an important factor influencing shale gas accumulation. It not only controlls hydrocarbon generation, but also affects reservoir characteristics and distribution. This paper discusses the Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation in the south of the Sichuan Basin. Outcrop, core, drilling and logging data identify the sedimentary facies of the formation as continental shelf facies, which is divided into two subfacies: an inner shelf and an outer shelf subfacies. These two subfacies can be further divided into seven microfacies: muddy silty shallow shelf, calcareous silty shallow shelf, muddy limy shallow shelf, storm flow, muddy deep shelf, silty muddy deep shelf and contour current microfacies. Vertical and horizontal distribution of microfacies establishes a sedimentation model of the continental shelf facies. Combined with analization or calculation of geochemical, mineralogical, physical and gas-bearing properties of samples, sedimentary microfacies is evaluated using nine parameters: total organic carbon content, effective shale continuous thickness, vitrinite reflectance, kerogen type, mineral components, porosity, permeability, water saturation and gas content. The evaluation revealed that the most favorable facies for shale gas exploration and development are the muddy deep shelf and part of the silty muddy deep shelf microfacies, with TOC more than 2%, siliceous component over 50%, clay less than 30%, porosity more than 3%, water saturation lower than 40%, gas content greater than 2 m3/t. | 2 | Overall assessment of antibiotic substitutes for pigs:a set of meta-analyses显示文摘Background:Antibiotic growth promoters are widely used to improve weight gain.However,the abuse of antibiotics can have many negative effects on people.Developing alternatives to antibiotics is an urgent need in livestock production.We aimed to perform a meta-analysis and network meta-analysis(NMA)to investigate the effects of feed additives as potential antibiotic substitutes(ASs)on bacteriostasis,growth performance,intestinal morphology and immunity.Furthermore,the primary,secondary,and tertiary ASs were defined by comparing their results with the results of antibiotics.Results:Among 16,309 identified studies,37 were summarized to study the bacteriostasis effects of feed additives,and 89 were included in the meta-analysis and NMA(10,228 pigs).We summarized 268 associations of 57 interventions with 32 bacteria.The order of bacteriostasis effects was as follows:antimicrobial peptides(AMPs)≈antibiotics>organic acids>plant extracts>oligosaccharides.We detected associations of 11 feed additives and 11 outcomes.Compared with a basal diet,plant extract,AMPs,probiotics,microelements,organic acids,bacteriophages,lysozyme,zymin,and oligosaccharides significantly improved growth performance(P<0.05);organic acids,probiotics,microelements,lysozyme,and AMPs remarkably increased the villus height:crypt depth ratio(V/C)(P<0.05);and plant extracts,zymin,microelements,probiotics,and organic acids notably improved immunity(P<0.05).The optimal AMP,bacteriophage,lysozyme,microelements,oligosaccharides,organic acids,plants,plant extracts,probiotics,and zymin doses were 0.100%,0.150%,0.012%,0.010%,0.050%,0.750%,0.20%,0.040%,0.180%,and 0.100%,respectively.Compared with antibiotics,all investigated feed additives exhibited no significant difference in effects on growth performance,IgG,and diarrhoea index/rate(P>0.05);AMPs and microelements significantly increased V/C(P<0.05);and zymin significantly improved lymphocyte levels(P<0.05).Furthermore,linear weighting sum models were used to comprehensively estimate the overall impact of each feed additive on pig growth and health.Conclusions:Our findings suggest that AMPs and plant extracts can be used as primary ASs for weaned piglets and growing pigs,respectively.Bacteriophages,zymin,plants,probiotics,oligosaccharides,lysozyme,and microelements can be regarded as secondary ASs.Nucleotides and organic acids can be considered as tertiary ASs.Future studies should further assess the alternative effects of combinational feed additives. | Bocheng Xu Jie Fu Luoyi Zhu Zhi Li Mingliang Jin Yizhen Wang | 2021 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,2: | 9 |
| 3 | Betaine affects muscle lipid metabolism via regulating the fatty acid uptake and oxidation in finishing pig显示文摘Background: Betaine affects fat metabolism in animals, but the specific mechanism is still not clear. The purpose of this study was to investigate possible mechanisms of betaine in altering lipid metabolism in muscle tissue in finishing pigs.Methods: A total of 120 crossbred gilts(Landrace × Yorkshire × Duroc) with an average initial body weight of 70.1 kg were randomly allotted to three dietary treatments. The treatments included a corn–soybean meal basal diet supplemented with 0, 1250 or 2500 mg/kg betaine. The feeding experiment lasted 42 d.Results: Betaine addition to the diet significantly increased the concentration of free fatty acids(FFA) in muscle(P < 0.05). Furthermore, the levels of serum cholesterol and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol were decreased(P < 0.05) and total cholesterol content was increased in muscle(P < 0.05) of betaine fed pigs. Experiments on genes involved in fatty acid transport showed that betaine increased expression of lipoprotein lipase(LPL), fatty acid translocase/cluster of differentiation(FAT/CD36), fatty acid binding protein(FABP3) and fatty acid transport protein(FATP1)(P < 0.05). The abundance of fatty acid transport protein and fatty acid binding protein were also increased by betaine(P < 0.05). As for the key factors involved in fatty acid oxidation, although betaine supplementation didn't affect the level of carnitine and malonyl-CoA, betaine increased mR NA and protein abundance of carnitine palmitransferase-1(CPT1)and phosphorylated-AMPK(P < 0.05).Conclusions: The results suggested that betaine may promoted muscle fatty acid uptake via up-regulating the genes related to fatty acid transporter including FAT/CD36, FATP1 and FABP3. On the other hand, betaine activated AMPK and up-regulated genes related to fatty acid oxidation including PPARα and CPT1. | 5 | One Stone Four Birds:A Novel Liposomal Delivery System Multi-functionalized with Ginsenoside Rh2 for Tumor Targeting Therapy显示文摘Liposomes hold great potential in anti-cancer drug delivery and the targeting treatment of tumors.However,the clinical therapeutic efficacy of liposomes is still limited by the complexity of tumor microenvironment(TME)and the insufficient accumulation in tumor sites.Meanwhile,the application of cholesterol and polyethylene glycol(PEG),which are usually used to prolong the blood circulation and stabilize the structure of liposomes respectively,has been questioned due to various disadvantages.Herein,we developed a ginsenoside Rh2-based multifunctional liposome system(Rh2-lipo)to effectively address these challenges once for all.Different with the conventional’wooden’liposomes,Rh2-lipo is a much more brilliant carrier with multiple functions.In Rh2-lipo,both cholesterol and PEG were substituted by Rh2,which works as membrane stabilizer,long-circulating stealther,active targeting ligand,and chemotherapy adjuvant at the same time.Firstly,Rh2 could keep the stability of liposomes and avoid the shortcomings caused by cholesterol.Secondly,Rh2-lipo showed a specifically prolonged circulation behavior in the blood.Thirdly,the accumulation of the liposomes in the tumor was significantly enhanced by the interaction of glucose transporter of tumor cells with Rh2.Fourth,Rh2-lipo could remodel the structure and reverse the immunosuppressive environment in TME.When tested in a 4T1 breast carcinoma xenograft model,the paclitaxel-loaded Rh2-lipo realized high efficient tumor growth suppression.Therefore,Rh2-lipo not only innovatively challenges the position of cholesterol as a liposome component,but also provides another innovative potential system with multiple functions for anti-cancer drug delivery. | Chao Hong Jianming Liang Jiaxuan Xia Ying Zhu Yizhen Guo Anni Wang Chunyi Lu Hongwei Ren Chen Chen Shiyi Li Dan Wang Huaxing Zhan Jianxin Wang | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,10: | 8 |
| 6 | Cubic surface fitting to image by combination显示文摘We present a new method for constructing a fitting surface to image data. The new method is based on a supposition that the given image data are sampled from an original scene that can be represented by a surface defined by piecewise quadratic polynomials. The surface representing the original scene is known as the original surface in this paper. Unlike existing methods, which generally construct the fitting surface to the original surface using image data as interpolation data, the new method constructs the fitting surface using the image data as constraints to reverse the sampling process, which improves the approximation precision of the fitting surface. Associated with each data point and its near region, the new method constructs a quadratic polynomial patch locally using the sampling formula as constraint. The quadratic patch approximates the original surface with a quadratic polynomial precision. The fitting surface which approximates the original surface is formed by the combination of all the quadratic polynomial patches. | 7 | Fermented mixed feed alters growth performance,carcass traits,meat quality and muscle fatty acid and amino acid profiles in finishing pigs显示文摘This study was conducted to investigate the effects of fermented mixed feed(FMF)on growth performance,carcass traits,meat quality,muscle amino acid and fatty acid composition and mRNA expression levels of genes related to lipid metabolism in finishing pigs.In the present study,144 finishing pigs(Duroc×Berkshire×Jiaxing Black)were randomly allocated to 3 dietary treatments with 4 replicate pens per group and 12 pigs per pen.The dietary treatments included a basal diet(CON),a basal diet+5%FMF and a basal diet+10%FMF.The experiment lasted 38 d after 4 d of acclimation.The results showed that 5%and 10%FMF significantly increased the average daily gain(ADG)of the females but not the males(P<0.05),but FMF supplementation showed no impact on carcass traits.Moreover,10%FMF supplementation increased the meat color45 min and meat color24 h values,while it decreased the shear force relative to CON(P<0.05).In addition,10%FMF significantly increased the contents of flavor amino acids(FAA),total essential AA(EAA),total non-EAA(NEAA)and total AA relative to CON(P<0.05).Furthermore,the diet supplemented with 10%FMF significantly increased the concentration of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFA),n-6 PUFA and total PUFA,and the PUFA to saturated fatty acids ratio(P<0.05),suggesting that FMF supplementation increased meat quality.Moreover,compared with the CON,10%FMF supplementation increased the mRNA expression of lipogenic genes,including CEBPα,PPARγ,SREBP1 and FABP4,and upregulated the expression of unsaturated fatty acid synthesis(ACAA1 and FADS2).Together,our results suggest that 10%FMF dietary supplementation improved the female pigs’growth performance,improved the meat quality and altered the profiles of muscle fatty acids and amino acids in finishing pigs.This study provides a reference for the production of high-quality pork. | Shiqi Liu Man Du Yuang Tu Wenjing You Wentao Chen Guoliang Liu Junyue Li Yizhen Wang Zeqing Lu Tenghao Wang Tizhong Shan | 2023 | Animal Nutrition2023,,1: | 4 |

| 9 | Ti-Si-N films prepared by magnetron sputtering显示文摘A film growth mechanism, expressed in terms of depositing hard films onto the soft substrate, was proposed. Multicomponent thin films of Ti-Si-N were deposited onto Al substrate with a double-target magnetron sputtering system in an Ar-N 2 gas mixture. The Ti-Si-N films were investigated by characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscope (AFM), electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA), scratch test and nanoindentation. The as-deposited films have a good adhesion to Al substrate and appear with smooth and lustrous surface. The films show nanocomposite structure with nano TiN grains embedded in an amorphous SiN x matrix. The maximum hardness of the films was achieved as high as 27 GPa. The influences of the N 2 flow rate and substrate temperature on the growth rate and quality of the films were also discussed. For all samples, the Ar flow rate was maintained constant at 10 ml min 1 , while the flow rate of N 2 was varied to analyze the structural changes related to chemical composition and friction coefficient. The low temperature in the deposited Ti-Si-N films favors the formation of crystalline TiN, and it leads to a lower hardness at low N 2 flow rate. At the same time, the thin films deposited are all crystallized well and bonded firmly to Al substrate, with smooth and lustrous appearance and high hardness provided. | 10 | Ultrasensitive polarization-dependent terahertz modulation in hybrid perovskites plasmoninduced transparency devices显示文摘Active control of metamaterial properties with high tunability of both resonant intensity and frequency is essential for advanced terahertz(THz) applications, ranging from spectroscopy and sensing to communications.Among varied metamaterials, plasmon-induced transparency(PIT) has enabled active control with giant sensitivity by embedding semiconducting materials. However, there is still a stringent challenge to achieve dynamic responses in both intensity and frequency modulation. Here, an anisotropic THz active metamaterial device with an ultrasensitive modulation feature is proposed and experimentally studied. A radiative-radiative-coupled PIT system is established, with a frequency shift of 0.26 THz in its sharp transparent windows by polarization rotation. Enabled by high charge-carrier mobility and longer diffusion lengths, we utilize a straightforwardly spincoated MAPbI3 film acting as a photoactive medium to endow the device with high sensitivity and ultrafast speed.When the device is pumped by an ultralow laser fluence, the PIT transmission windows at 0.86 and 1.12 THz demonstrate a significant reduction for two polarizations, respectively, with a full recovery time of 561 ps. In addition, we numerically prove the validity that the investigated resonator structure is sensitive to the optically induced conductivity. | 11 | Catalytic depolymerization of calcium lignosulfonate by NiMgFeO_x derived from sub-micron sized NiMgFe hydrotalcite prepared by introducing hydroxyl compounds显示文摘A new method for regulating the synthesis of Ni Mg Fe hydrotalcites(NMF LDHs) with the addition of hydroxyl compounds was proposed. A series of NMF LDHs were prepared by the above method, and then were calcined to obtain the Ni Mg FeOx(NMFOx) samples. The NMFOxsamples were characterized by XRD,SEM, TG-DTG, XPS and CO2-TPD, respectively. The catalytic performance of NMFOxfor depolymerizing calcium lignosulfonate(CLS) was evaluated by hydrothermal reaction. The results showed that the addition of hydroxyl compounds favored reducing the particle sizes of NMF LDHs. For the depolymerization of CSL, the yield of liquid product increased from 45% to 75.8% with the addition of NMFOx-ethanol(NMFOxET). The liquid products were mainly phenolics, aromatics, ketones and esters. The total selectivity of oxy-containing compounds was over 90.6%, among them, the phenolics were approximately 35.2%. The valence of Ni and Fe, crystalline phase and basicity almost remained unchanged. | 12 | Atmospheric isoprene and monoterpenes in a typical urban area of Beijing: Pollution characterization, chemical reactivity and source identification显示文摘Continuous observation of isoprene, α-pinene and β-pinene was carried out in a typical urban area of Beijing from March 2014 to February 2015, using an AirmoV OC online analyzer. Based on the analysis of the ambient level and variation characteristics of isoprene, α-pinene and β-pinene, the chemical reactivity was studied, and their sources were identified. Results showed that the concentrations of isoprene, α-pinene and β-pinene in the urban area of Beijing were lower than those in richly vegetated areas; the concentrations of isoprene were at a moderate level compared with those of previous studies of Beijing. Concentrations of isoprene, α-pinene and β-pinene showed different seasonal, monthly, daily and diurnal variations, and all of the three species showed higher level at night than those in the daytime as a whole, the variations of isoprene, α-pinene and β-pinene mainly influenced by emission of sources, photochemical reaction, and meteorological parameters. Isoprene was the largest contributor to the total OFP values than α-pinene and β-pinene. α-Pinene was the largest contributor to the total SOAFP values than isoprene and β-pinene in autumn, while isoprene was the largest one in other seasons. Isoprene, α-pinene and β-pinene were derived mainly from biological sources; and α-pinene level were also affected by industrial sources. | 13 | TOF–SIMS surface analysis of chemical components of size–fractioned urban aerosols in a typical heavy air pollution event in Beijing显示文摘Size–fractioned atmospheric aerosol particles were collected during a typical heavy air pollution event in Beijing. The organic and inorganic components on the surfaces of the samples were analyzed using time–of–flight secondary ion mass spectrometry(TOF–SIMS).The variation characteristics of the surface chemical composition and influencing factors were studied, and the possible sources of these chemical compositions were identified through principal component analysis. The results showed that inorganic components such as crustal elements and sulfate, and organic components such as aliphatic hydrocarbons and oxygen–containing organic groups were present. Some surface components, such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, heavy metals and fluorides may exert adverse effects on human health. The species and relative percentages of the chemical components varied with particle size, diurnal and pollution progress. During a heavy pollution event, the species and relative percentages of secondary components such as oxygen–containing organic groups and sulfurous compounds increased, indicating that particles aged during this event. The surface chemical composition of the aerosol particles was affected mainly by emissions from coal combustion and motor vehicles. Trimethyl indium (TMIn) and N 2 were applied as precursors of In and N, respectively. The quality of as-grown InN films were systematically investigated as a function of TMIn fluxes by means of reflection high-energy electron diffraction (RHEED), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The results show that the dense and uniform InN films with highly c-axis preferred orientation are successfully achieved on sapphire substrates under optimized TMIn flux of 0.8 ml min 1 . | 16 | Comprehensive evaluation of the metabolic effects of porcine CRTC3 overexpression on subcutaneous adipocytes with metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses显示文摘Background:Meat quality is largely driven by fat deposition,which is regulated by several genes and signaling pathways.The cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP)-regulated transcriptional coactivator 3(CRTC3)is a coactivator of cAMP response element binding protein(CREB)that mediates the function of protein kinase A(PKA)signaling pathway and is involved in various biological processes including lipid and energy metabolism.However,the effects of CRTC3 on the metabolome and transcriptome of porcine subcutaneous adipocytes have not been studied yet.Here,we tested whether porcine CRTC3 expression would be related to fat deposition in Heigai pigs(a local fatty breed in China)and Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire(DLY,a lean breed)pigs in vivo.The effects of adenovirus-induced CRTC3 overexpression on the metabolomic and transcriptomic profiles of subcutaneous adipocytes were also determined in vitro by performing mass spectrometry-based metabolomics combined with RNA sequencing(RNA-seq).Results:Porcine CRTC3 expression is associated with fat deposition in vivo.In addition,CRTC3 overexpression increased lipid accumulation and the expression of mature adipocyte-related genes in cultured porcine subcutaneous adipocytes.According to the metabolomic analysis,CRTC3 overexpression induced significant changes in adipocyte lipid,amino acid and nucleotide metabolites in vitro.The RNA-seq analysis suggested that CRTC3 overexpression alters the expression of genes and pathways involved in adipogenesis,fatty acid metabolism and glycerophospholipid metabolism in vitro.Conclusions:We identified significant alterations in the metabolite composition and the expression of genes and pathways involved in lipid metabolism in CRTC3-overexpressing adipocytes.Our results suggest that CRTC3 might play an important regulatory role in lipid metabolism and thus affects lipid accumulation in porcine subcutaneous adipocytes. | Jiaqi Liu Jie Li Wentao Chen Xintao Xie Xingang Chu Teresa G.Valencak Yizhen Wang Tizhong Shan | 2021 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,3: | 2 |
