| 1 | Study of Yield Combining Ability and Genetic Relationship Among Exotic Tropical,Subtropical Maize(Zea mays L.) Inbreds and Temperate Maize Inbreds in China显示文摘Information on the genetic relationship between tropical maize (Zea mays L), germplasm and temperate maize germplasm is of great value to maize breeding. The objective of this study was to determine the combining ability and genetic relationship of 25 inbreds extracted from five tropical maize populations and a land race, with four temperate maize inbreds (Huangzaosi, Mo17, B73 and Dan 340). The 25 tropical inbreds were crossed with the four temperate inbreds and evaluated. Lines from Suwan1 and POP28 had high general combining ability (GCA) for grain yield. The lines from POP32 (ETO) had the highest special combining ability (SCA) with B73; the average SCA value of the 5 lines was 879 kg/ha. The lines from Suwan1had the second-highest SCA (584 kg/ha) with Huangzaosi. The lines from Suwan1 had the greatest relative heterosis (20%) with B73, followed by the lines from POP32 (ETO) with B73 (19%). | 9 | Seismic assessment of RC frames infilled with innovative CFS walls considering seismic orientation effect显示文摘The metal tailings porous concrete cold-formed steel(MCFS)wall is an innovative cold-formed steel(CFS)wall with good thermal and mechanical properties,which has the potential to be widely utilized as the infilled wall(IW).In this paper,the MCFS walls are adopted in the reinforced concrete(RC)frame,and the seismic performance of the building subjected to ground motions with various incidence angles are investigated.Three-dimensional finite element model of the studied building is developed with full consideration of the in-plain(IP)and out-of-plane(OP)behavior of MCFS walls.Incremental dynamic analysis is conducted to obtain the deformation responses of frames and damage ratios of MCFS walls under the combined effect of seismic intensity and orientation.Fragility curves are generated to assess the seismic performance of the building and investigate the effect of ground motion orientation.The results validate the superior performance of infilled MCFS walls,and reveal that the seismic orientation has a considerable impact on the response along each reference axis of the structure.Furthermore,different incidence angles induce up to 10.2%and 14.4%variations in the median Sa(T1)of fragilities for the frames in X and Y axes,and the corresponding change rates in the median Sa(T1)for the walls are 13.5%and 15.1%,respectively.However,for the overall performance of the building,the seismic orientation effect is less significant.The rates of changes in median Sa(T1)are less than 4%for both frames and MCFS walls. | LIU PengFei LI LuXi | 2023 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,2: | 0 |
| 10 | Mechanical properties and microstructure of multilayer graphene oxide cement mortar显示文摘This study reports on the effects of multilayer graphene oxide(MGO)on compressive strength,flexural strength,and microstructure of cement mortar.The cement mortar was prepared with type P.II.52.5 Portland cement,standard sand,and MGO.Four mixes were prepared with inclusion of MGO(0%,0.02%,0.04%,and 0.06%by weight of cement).The testing result shows that the compressive of GO-cement mortar increased by 4.84%–13.42%,and the flexural strength increased by 4.37%–8.28%at 3 d.GO-cement mortar’s compressive strength and flexural strength at 7 d increased by 3.84%–12.08%and 2.54%–13.43%,respectively.MGO made little contribution to the increases of compressive strength and flexural strength of cement mortar at 28 d.The results of X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM),and nitrogen(N2)adsorption/desorption tests show that the types of hydration products and crystal grain size did not change after adding MGO.Still,it can help to improve the microstructure of the cement mortar via regulating hydration products and can provide more condensed cores to accelerate hydration.Furthermore,the regulating action of MGO for the microstructure of cement mortar at an early age was better than that at 28 d. | Jun LIU Luxi ZHAO Fei CHANG Lin CHI | 2021 | Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2021,15,4: | 0 |

| 12 | Effects of a closed-loop system against SARS-CoV-2 at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games:a descriptive and modeling study显示文摘BACKGROUND:To assess the efficacy of the epidemic prevention measures of the“closed-loop”system adopted by the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games(BOWG).METHODS:We retrospectively collected and analyzed information,including age,sex,nationality,vaccination status,date of diagnosis,and date of entry,from 280 SARS-CoV-2-positive individuals identified during the BOWG.A susceptibility-exposed-infectious-remove model was employed to evaluate the effectiveness of epidemic prevention strategies on controlling the spread of SARS-CoV-2 under different scenarios during the BOWG.RESULTS:Regarding SARS-CoV-2-positive cases,97.9%were imported,and 96.4%were asymptomatic.The median age was 37 years(range:29–47 years),and 73.9%were male,with the majority of cases being broadcasters and European attendees.Regarding vaccination status,93.5%were fully vaccinated,and six cases were considered to have been infected in the closed-loop system during the BOWG.Assuming that the BOWG adopted a semi-closed-loop management system,the cumulative number of confirmed cases would be 1,137 for quick quarantine measures(3 d later)implemented and 5,530 for delayed quarantine measures(9 d later)implemented.This modeling revealed that stringent pandemic prevention measures and closed-loop management effectively controlled the spread of SARS-CoV-2 during the BOWG.CONCLUSION:Imported cases are considered the main risk factor for SARS-CoV-2 transmission during mass gatherings,but a comprehensive closed-loop system could minimize transmission among attendees and general personnel. | Rong Xiong Jieping Zhou Wenning Li Jie Liu Jing Lou Sijia Tian Huixin Lian Shengmei Niu Luxi Zhang Wenhang Li Jinjun Zhang | 2023 | World Journal of Emergency Medicine2023,14,6: | 0 |
| 13 | Genetic polymorphisms in genes regulating cell death and prognosis of patients with rectal cancer receiving postoperative chemoradiotherapy显示文摘Objective:The identification of biomarkers for predicting chemoradiotherapy efficacy is essential to optimize personalized treatment.This study determined the effects of genetic variations in genes involved in apoptosis,pyroptosis,and ferroptosis on the prognosis of patients with locally advanced rectal cancer receiving postoperative chemoradiotherapy(CRT).Methods:The Sequenom MassARRAY was used to detect 217 genetic variations in 40 genes from 300 patients with rectal cancer who received postoperative CRT.The associations between genetic variations and overall survival(OS)were evaluated using hazard ratios(HRs)and 95%confidence intervals(CIs)computed using a Cox proportional regression model.Functional experiments were performed to determine the functions of the arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase(ALOX5)gene and the ALOX5 rs702365 variant.Results:We detected 16 genetic polymorphisms in CASP3,CASP7,TRAILR2,GSDME,CASP4,HO-1,ALOX5,GPX4,and NRF2 that were significantly associated with OS in the additive model(P<0.05).There was a substantial cumulative effect of three genetic polymorphisms(CASP4 rs571407,ALOX5 rs2242332,and HO-1 rs17883419)on OS.Genetic variations in the CASP4 and ALOX5 gene haplotypes were associated with a higher OS.We demonstrated,for the first time,that rs702365[G]>[C]represses ALOX5 transcription and corollary experiments suggested that ALOX5 may promote colon cancer cell growth by mediating an inflammatory response.Conclusions:Polymorphisms in genes regulating cell death may play essential roles in the prognosis of patients with rectal cancer who are treated with postoperative CRT and may serve as potential genetic biomarkers for individualized treatment. | Hongxia Chen Luxi Yin Jie Yang Ningxin Ren Jinna Chen Qixuan Lu Ying Huang Yanru Feng Weihu Wang Shulian Wang Yueping Liu Yongwen Song Yexiong Li Jing Jin Wen Tan Dongxin Lin | 2023 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2023,20,4: | 0 |

| 16 | Protective effects of Dioscin on TNF-α-induced collagen-induced arthritis rat fibroblast-like synoviocytes involves in regulating the LTB4/BLT pathway显示文摘Background and Objective:LTB4 has been shown to be involved in rheumatoid arthritis(RA)pathogenesis.The effect of Dioscin(Dio)on the LTB4 pathway of RA have not been reported yet.This study aimed at further exploring whether Dioscin’s effects on TNF-αinduced collagen-induced arthritis(CIA)rat fibroblast-like synoviocytes(FLS)connected with the LTB4 and its receptor pathway.Materials&Methods:In this experiment,control group,TNF-αgroup,and different concentrations of Dioscin groups were established.Cell viability was evaluated using MTT assay.The levels of LTB4 in the samples of above groups were measured using ELISA.The mRNA expression levels of LTA4H,BLT1,and BLT2 were detected by quantitative real time PCR,while the expression level of LTA4H proteins were detected using western blot.The distribution of LTA4H was assessed by immunofluorescence assay.Results:the LTB4 level of TNF-αgroup in sample supernatant was higher than both control group and Dioscin groups with decreased LTB4 levels(p<0.05).Compared with the control group,the expression of LTA4H was significantly increased in TNF-αgroup(p<0.05),whereas LTA4H expressions were significantly decreased in all Dioscin groups when compared to TNF-αgroup(p<0.05).The mRNA expressions of BLT1 and BLT2 were markedly higher in TNF-αgroup than those in control group while Dioscin treatment significantly inhibited the increased expressions of BLT1 and BLT2 induced by TNF-α(p<0.05).Conclusions:These results firstly demonstrate that the protective effect of Dioscin on TNF-αinduced FLS may involve in its reducing LTB4 production by down-regulating LTA4H expression,and may inhibit its downstream pathway by decreasing LTB4 receptors levels.This findings suggest that dioscin produces a potential therapeutic effects for RA via its influencing LTA4H/LTB4/BLT pathway. | ZHIPING WEI YAJUN LIU MEIWEN YANG MENGDI LI KEXIN LI LUXI ZHENG HUIQIONG GUO FENFANG HONG SHULONG YANG | 2021 | BIOCELL2021,45,4: | 0 |
