3Spontaneous apoptosis of cells in therapeutic stem cell preparation exert immunomodulatory effects through release of phosphatidylserine显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)-mediated immunomodulation has been harnessed for the treatment of human diseases,but its underlying mechanism has not been fully understood.Dead cells,including apoptotic cells have immunomodulatory properties.It has been repeatedly reported that the proportion of nonviable MSCs in a MSC therapeutic preparation varied from 5-50%in the ongoing clinical trials.It is conceivable that the nonviable cells in a MSC therapeutic preparation may play a role in the therapeutic effects of MSCs.We found that the MSC therapeutic preparation in the present study had about 5%dead MSCs(DMSCs),characterized by apoptotic cells.Namely,1×10^(6) MSCs in the preparation contained about 5×10^(4) DMSCs.We found that the treatment with even 5×10^(4) DMSCs alone had the equal therapeutic effects as with 1×10^(6) MSCs.This protective effect of the dead MSCs alone was confirmed in four mouse models,including concanavalin A(ConA)-and carbon tetrachloride(CCI4)-induced acute liver injury,LPS-induced lung injury and spinal cord injury.We also found that the infused MSCs died by apoptosis in vivo.Furthermore,the therapeutic effect was attributed to the elevated level of phosphatidylserine(PS)upon the injection of MSCs or DMSCs.The direct administration of PS liposomes(PSLs)mimic apoptotic cell fragments also exerted the protective effects as MSCs and DMSCs.The Mer tyrosine kinase(MerTK)deficiency or the knockout of chemokine receptor C-C motif chemokine receptor 2(CCR2)reversed these protective effects of MSCs or DMSCs.These results revealed that DMSCs alone in the therapeutic stem cell preparation or the apoptotic cells induced in vivo may exert the same immunomodulatory property as the'living MSCs preparation'through releasing PS,which was further recognized by MerTK and participated in modulating immune cells.Xuemei He Weiqi Hong Jingyun Yang Hong Lei Tianqi Lu Cai He Zhenfei Bi Xiangyu Pan Yu Liu Lunzhi Dai Wei Wang Canhua Huang Hongxin Deng Xiawei Wei 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,8:6
4Organophosphate esters cause thyroid dysfunction via multiple signaling pathways in zebrafish brain显示文摘Organophosphate esters(OPEs)are widespread in various environmental media,and can disrupt thyroid endocrine signaling pathways.Mechanisms by which OPEs disrupt thyroid hormone(TH)signal transduction are not fully understood.Here,we present in vivo-in vitro-in silico evidence establishing OPEs as environmental THs competitively entering the brain to inhibit growth of zebrafish via multiple signaling pathways.OPEs can bind to transthyretin(TTR)and thyroxine-binding globulin,thereby affecting the transport of TH in the blood,and to the brain by TTR through the blood-brain barrier.When GH3 cells were exposed to OPEs,cell proliferation was significantly inhibited given that OPEs are competitive inhibitors of TH.Cresyl diphenyl phosphate was shown to be an effective antagonist of TH.Chronic exposure to OPEs significantly inhibited the growth of zebrafish by interfering with thyroperoxidase and thyroglobulin to inhibit TH synthesis.Based on comparisons of modulations of gene expression with the Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes databases,signaling pathways related to thyroid endocrine functions,such as receptor-ligand binding and regulation of hormone levels,were identified as being affected by exposure to OPEs.Effects were also associated with the biosynthesis and metabolism of lipids,and neuroactive ligand-receptor interactions.These findings provide a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms by which OPEs disrupt thyroid pathways in zebrafish.Zhenfei Yan Chenglian Feng Xiaowei Jin Fangkun Wang Cong Liu Na Li Yu Qiao Yingchen Bai Fengchang Wu John P.Giesy 2022Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2022,,4:2
5Toxicity mechanisms and bioavailability of copper to fish based on an adverse outcome pathway analysis显示文摘Copper(Cu)exists in a variety of forms in different aquatic environments,and affects their bioavailability.In this study we provide a systematic review on toxicity of Cu which focuses on identifying evidence in the mechanisms of Cu toxicity,and apply an adverse outcome pathway(AOP)analysis to identify multiple potential mechanisms and their interactions of Cu toxicity to fish.This analysis process included the mechanisms of behavior toxicant,oxidative toxicant,ion regulation disruption toxicity,as well as endocrine disruption toxicity.It was found that at low levels of Cu exposure,swimming,avoid predators,locating prey and other sensory functions will be impaired,and the organism will suffer from metabolic alkalosis and respiratory acidosis following the inhibition of the carbonic anhydrase active.The main pathway of acute toxicity of Cu to fish is the inhibition of the Na^(+)/K^(+)-ATPase enzyme,and lead to reduced intracellular sodium absorption,as well as Cu-induced increased cell permeability,in turn resulting in increased sodium ion loss,leading to cardiovascular collapse and respiratory insufficiency.The endocrine disruption toxicity of Cu to fish caused growth inhibition and reproductive reduction.In addition,there are several key pathways of Cu toxicity that are affected by hardness(e.g.,Ca^(2+))and intracellular DOC concentrations,including inhibiting Cu-induction,improving branchial gas exchange,altering membrane transport functions,decreasing Na+loss,and increasing Na+uptake.The results of the AOP analysis will provide a robust framework for future directed research on the mechanisms of Cu toxicity.Wei Liao Ziwei Zhu Chenglian Feng Zhenfei Yan Yajun Hong Daqing Liu Xiaowei Jin 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,5:1

7Genome-wide profiling of histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation and its modification in response to chilling stress in grapevine leaves显示文摘Histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation(H3K27me3) is a histone modification associated with transcriptional repression. However, insights into the genome-wide pattern of H3K27me3 in grapevines are limited. Here, anti-H3K27 chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP), high-throughput sequencing, and transcriptome analysis were performed using leaves of Vitis amurensis. The leaves were treated at 4°C for 2 h and 24 h and used to investigate changes in H3K27me3 under chilling treatment. The results show that H3K27me3 is well-distributed both in gene regions(-50%) and in the intergenic region(-50%) in the grapevine genome(Vitis vinifera ‘Pinot Noir PN40024'). H3K27me3 was found to be localized in8 368 annotated gene regions in all detected samples(leaves at normal temperature and under chilling treatments) and mainly enriched in gene bodies with the adjacent promoter and downstream areas. The short-term chilling treatments(4°C for 2 h) induced 2 793 gains and 305losses in H3K27me3 modification. Subsequently, 97.3% of the alterations were restored to original levels after 24 h treatment. The ChIP-qPCR for five differential peaks showed similar results to the data for ChIP-seq, indicating that the chilling-induced H3K27me3 modification is reliable.Integrative analysis of transcriptome and ChIP-seq results showed that the expression of H3K27me3 target genes was significantly lower than those of non-target genes, indicating transcriptional repression of H3K27me3 in grapevine leaves. Furthermore, histone methylation alterations were detected in 82 genes and were related to either repression or activation of their expression during chilling stress. 11Photocatalytic reduction of Cr(Ⅵ) over cinder-based nanoneedle in presence of tartaric acid: Synergistic performance and mechanism显示文摘Cr(Ⅵ) is a common heavy metal ion, which will seriously harm human body and environment.Therefore, the removal of Cr(Ⅵ) has become an attractive topic.In this work, cinder was used as a raw material to synthesize a nanoneedle material: γ-(AlOOH@FeOOH)(γ-Al@Fe).The physicochemical properties of γ-Al@Fe were thoroughly characterized, and its effectiveness as a catalyst for photocatalytic reduction of Cr(Ⅵ) was evaluated.The results showed that Cr(Ⅵ) could be efficiently reduced by γ-Al@Fe in the presence of tartaric acid(TA) under visible light.The variable factors on the reaction were investigated in detail, and the results showed that under optimal conditions(γ-Al@Fe 0.4 g/L, TA 0.6 g/L, pH 2), Cr(Ⅵ)was completely reduced within 7 min.Besides, scavenger experiments and EPR proved that O_(2)^(·-) and CO_(2)^(·-) played a significant role in the photocatalytic reduction of Cr(Ⅵ).TA acts as a sacrificial agent to trap the holes and generate strong reducing free radicals: CO_(2)^(·-).Dissolving O_(2) could react with electrons to generate O_(2)^(·-).This work discussed the performance and mechanism of photocatalytic reduction of Cr(Ⅵ) in detail, which provided a new idea for the resource utilization of solid waste and the treatment of heavy metal sewage.Wenwu Yang Zhenfei Yang Luhua Shao Sijian Li Yutang Liu Xinnian Xia 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,9:1

13Constructing Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene/ZnIn_(2)S_(4) heterostructure as a Schottky catalyst for photocatalytic environmental remediation显示文摘It is highly demanded to steer the charge flow in semiconductor for efficient photocatalytic environmental remediation.Herein,we designed an interfacial contact Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene/ZnIn_(2)S_(4) nanosheets(TC/ZISNS) Schottky heterostructure which could greatly enhance photogenerated charge separation of ZnIn_(2)S_(4) (ZIS).Through TEM and XPS measurement,the strong interface coupling between 2D ZnIn_(2)S_(4) nanosheets and 2D Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene were explained,and the formation of Schottky heterostructure was demonstrated by electrochemical method.To investigate the photocatalytic activity of as-prepared samples,the photocatalytic reduction of Cr(VI) and photocatalytic oxidation degradation tetracycline hydrochloride(TC-H) experiments were carried out.The results showed that the Schottky catalyst(10%-TC/ZISNS) possessed the optimum photocatalytic efficiency.Especially,the apparent rate constant of Cr(VI) reduction with 10%-TC/ZISNS was 3.9 times than that of pure ZIS.The photocatalytic performance of 10%-TC/ZISNS toward degradation rate of TC-H was 1.8 times than that of pure ZIS.Finally,a possible mechanism for great enhancement of visible-light driven photocatalytic activity in the TC/ZISNS system was provided.On the whole,this work provided a new insight on 2D/2D contact Schottky heterostructure for enhancing photocatalytic activity.Sijian Li Luhua Shao Zhenfei Yang Shu Cheng Cong Yang Yutang Liu Xinnian Xia 2022Green Energy & Environment2022,7,2:1
14Similarities and Differences of CT Features between COVID-19 Pneumonia and Heart Failure显示文摘Aims:During the COVID-19 epidemic,chest computed tomography(CT)has been highly recommended for screen-ing of patients with suspected COVID-19 because of an unclear contact history,overlapping clinical features,and an overwhelmed health system.However,there has not been a full comparison of CT for diagnosis of heart failure or COVID-19 pneumonia.Methods:Patients with heart failure(n=23)or COVID-19 pneumonia(n=23)and one patient with both diseases were retrospectively enrolled.Clinical information and chest CT images were obtained and analyzed.Results:There was no difference in ground-glass opacity,consolidation,crazy paving pattern,the lobes affected,and septal thickening between heart failure and COVID-19 pneumonia.However,a less rounded morphology(4%vs.70%,P=0.00092),more peribronchovascular thickening(70%vs.35%,P=0.018)and fi ssural thickening(43%vs.4%,P=0.002),and less peripheral distribution(30%vs.87%,P=0.00085)were found in the heart failure group than in the COVID-19 group.Importantly,there were also more patients with upper pulmonary vein enlargement(61%vs.4%,P=0.00087),subpleural effusion(50%vs.0%,P=0.00058),and cardiac enlargement(61%vs.4%,P=0.00075)in the heart failure group than in the COVID-19 group.Besides,more fi brous lesions were found in the COVID-19 group,although there was no statistical difference(22%vs.4%,P=0.080).Conclusions:Although there is some overlap of CT features between heart failure and COVID-19,CT is still a useful tool for differentiating COVID-19 pneumonia.Zhaowei Zhu Jianjun Tang Xiangping Chai Zhenfei Fang Qiming Liu Xinqun Hu Danyan Xu Jia He Liang Tang Shi Tai Yuzhi Wu Shenghua Zhou 2021Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications2021,,3:0
15Genetic Diversity Analysis of Selected Sengon(Paraseranthes Falcataria)Clones Using SSR Markers Dirived from Acacia Species显示文摘Understanding of genetic diversity among sengon(paraseranthes falcataria)is very important for selection and improvement of its breeding.This study determined the genetic diversity among the previous preferred 36 clones which selected from 6 districts.Of 8 Paraserianthes falcataria SSR markers and 76 SSR markers selected from Acacia species,only 13 markers showed polymorphic pattern and amplified a total of 61 alleles.The polymorphism information content(PIC)value at a locus ranged from 0.099 to 0.799.The average number of alleles per locus ranged from 2 to 9 with an average of 4.92.Six SSR markers were highly informative and had PIC values above 0.60.The results demonstrated that the SSR DNA-markers developed from Acacia species could be successfully used to differentiate genotypes of P.falcataria.Cluster analysis of SSR data using UPGMA separated 36 clones into 2 divergent clusters at similarity coefficient of 0.56.The diverse clones identified in the study would be useful for developing intraspecific hybrids to exploit hybrid vigour and for commercial cultivation to broaden genetic base.Meanwhile,the DNA fingerprints obtained for each clone can be used for identification of breeding population and accelerate research of P.falcataria breeding.Qianyu Liu Bingshan Zeng Chunjie Fan Ying Liu Zhenfei Qiu 2017林学研究进展(中英文版)2017,5,1:0
16Structural diversification of phenylspirodrimane lactams by employing a biosynthetic intermediate显示文摘Phenylspirodrimanes are a kind of meroterpenoids with structural diversity and complexity,exhibiting a wide of biological properties,especially for the lactam derivatives consisting a y-lactam moiety and N-linked side chains.These compounds were derived from multi-step combination of enzymatic and non-enzymatic conversions of intermediates in their biosynthetic pathways.Stachbotrydial(2)with an o-phthalaldehyde unit was supposed as the high-reactivity intermediate of phenylspirodrimane lactams via nonenzymatic reaction with amines.In the present work,an effective and non-enzymatic diversification strategy was developed for the structural diversification of phenylspirodrimane lactams including monomers and dimers from 2 by feeding structurally various mono-and diamines in the fungus Stachybotrys chartarum cultures.In total,24 phenylspirodrimane lactams(1,3-25)including 18 new compounds were synthesized.Among them,stachybocin A(1),a bioactive phenylspirodrimane lactam dimer,was produced with the yield of 18.7 mg/g of cell dry weight.The structures of these compounds were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic data,single-crystal X-ray diffraction(Cu Kα),and calculated electronic circular dichroism(ECD)analyses.Bioassay revealed that compounds 1,17,and 24 displayed significant inhibitory effect on the inactivated state of hNav 1.2 channels with IC_(50) values of 0.22,2.08,and 0.53μmol/L,respectively.In addition,1 showed potent protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B(PTP1B)inhibitory N-methyl-b-aspartate(NMDA)receptor antagonistic,and anti-inflammatory activities.Jimei Liu Zhenfei Wang Jun Wu Yaotian Han Fei Ye Tiantai Zhang Haibo Yu Zhengshun Wen Jungui Dai 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,12:0
17Enhancing Breast Cancer Diagnosis with Channel-Wise Attention Mechanisms in Deep Learning显示文摘Breast cancer,particularly Invasive Ductal Carcinoma(IDC),is a primary global health concern predominantly affecting women.Early and precise diagnosis is crucial for effective treatment planning.Several AI-based tech-niques for IDC-level classification have been proposed in recent years.Processing speed,memory size,and accuracy can still be improved for better performance.Our study presents ECAM,an Enhanced Channel-Wise Attention Mechanism,using deep learning to analyze histopathological images of Breast Invasive Ductal Carcinoma(BIDC).The main objectives of our study are to enhance computational efficiency using a Separable CNN architecture,improve data representation through hierarchical feature aggregation,and increase accuracy and interpretability with channel-wise attention mechanisms.Utilizing publicly available datasets,DataBioX IDC and the BreakHis,we benchmarked the proposed ECAM model against existing state-of-the-art models:DenseNet121,VGG16,and AlexNet.In the IDC dataset,the model based on AlexNet achieved an accuracy rate of 86.81%and an F1 score of 86.94%.On the other hand,DenseNet121 outperformed with an accuracy of 95.60%and an F1 score of 95.75%.Meanwhile,the VGG16 model achieved an accuracy rate of 91.20%and an F1 score of 90%.Our proposed ECAM model outperformed the state-of-the-art,achieving an impressive F1 score of 96.65%and an accuracy rate of 96.70%.The BreakHis dataset,the AlexNet-based model,achieved an accuracy rate of 90.82%and an F1 score of 90.77%.DenseNet121 achieved a higher accuracy rate of 92.66%with an F1 score of 92.72%,while the VGG16 model achieved an accuracy of 92.60%and an F1 score of 91.31%.The proposed ECAM model again outperformed,achieving an F1 score of 96.37%and an accuracy rate of 96.33%.Our model is a significant advancement in breast cancer diagnosis,with high accuracy and potential as an automated grading,especially for IDC.Muhammad Mumtaz Ali Faiqa Maqsood Shiqi Liu Weiyan Hou Liying Zhang Zhenfei Wang 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,77,12:0
18Compensated methods for networked control system with packet drops based on compressed sensing显示文摘Due to unreliable and bandwidth-limited characteristics of communication link in networked control systems,the realtime compensated methods for single-output systems and multioutput systems are proposed in this paper based on the compressed sensing(CS)theory and sliding window technique,by which the estimates of dropping data packets in the feedback channel are obtained and the performance degradation induced by packet drops is reduced.Specifically,in order to reduce the cumulative error caused by the algorithm,the compensated estimates for single-output systems are corrected via the regularization term;considering the process of single-packet transmission,a new sequential CS framework of sensor data streams is introduced to effectively compensate the dropping packet on single-channel of multi-output systems;in presence of the medium access constraints on multi-channel,the communication sequence for scheduling is coupled to the algorithm and the estimates of the multiple sensors for multi-output systems are obtained via the regularization term.Simulation results illustrate that the proposed methods perform well and receive satisfactory performance.FAN Ruifeng YIN Xunhe LIU Zhenfei LAM Hak Keung 2021Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2021,32,6:0

20A Giant Right Atrial Myxoma with Blood Supply from the Left and Right Coronary Arteries:Once in a Blue Moon显示文摘Cardiac myxomas,the commonest primary benign cardiac tumors,are extremely rare,with an incidence ranging from 0.0017 to 0.19%and only about one-fi fth of them originating from the right chambers of the heart.A 60-year-old woman was admitted because of recurrent attacks of chest tightness and shortness of breath.Transthoracic echocardiography detected a giant mass in the right atrium;myxoma was indicated by[18 F]fl uorodeoxyglucose PET/CT.Preoperative selective coronary angiography was performed to assess the extent and severity of coronary stenosis,and showed a strongly neovascularized right atrial mass supplied by two feeding vessels with multiple branches from the left and right coronary arteries.The myxoma was successfully excised with open heart surgery and the patient was free of myxoma recurrence during the 3-year follow-up.Yichao Xiao Zhenfei Fang Xinqun Hu Qiming Liu Zhaowei Zhu Na Liu Xiaofan Peng Shenghua Zhou 2020Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications2020,,1:0
