5LSECtin on tumor-associated macrophages enhances breast cancer sternness via interaction with its receptor BTN3A3显示文摘Macrophages have bee n suggested to con tribute to con structing a cancer stem cell(CSC)niche.However,whether and how macrophages regulate the activity of CSCs through juxtacrine signaling are poorly understood.Here we report LSECtin,a transmembrane protein highly expressed on tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs),enhances sternness of breast cancer cells(BCCs).We identified BTN3A3,a B7 family member with previously unknown functions as the receptor for LSECtin on BCCs responsible for stemness-promoting effect of LSECtin.In mice bearing human tumor xenografts,either macrophage-specific ablation of LSECtin or silencing of BTN3A3 in BCCs decreased CSC frequency and tumor growth.Admixture of LSECtin-positive macrophages increased the tumorigenic activity of BCCs dependent on BTN3A3.Disruption of the LSECtin-BTN3A3 axis with BTN3A3-Fc or anti-BTN3A3 mAb has a therapeutic effect on breast cancer.These findings define a juxtacrine signaling mechanism by which TAMs promote cancer stemness.Targeting this axis in the CSC niche may provide potential therapies to breast cancer.Di Liu Qian Lu Xing Wang Jun Wang Ning Lu Zefei Jiang Xiaopeng Hao Jianbin Li Jing Liu Pengbo Cao Guilin Peng Yuandong Tao Dianyuan Zhao Fuchu He Li Tang 2019Cell Research2019,29,5:8
6Synthesis and properties of novel gemini surfactant with short spacer显示文摘Cationic gemini surfactant dimethylene-1,2-bis(dodecyldiethylammonium bromide), referred to as C12C2C12(Et) was synthesized, and its surface property and aggregation behavior in aqueous solution were studied. The value of γ at the critical micelle concentration (γcmc) is much smaller than that of the surfactant homologues with longer spacer. 7Study of lubrication behavior of pure water for hydrophobic friction pair显示文摘The perfluorooctyltrichlorosilane molecular layer was self-assembled on glass plate. The tribological properties of the molecular layer in water were studied with the method of ball on disk. An interesting phenomenon was found that low friction coefficients of 0.02―0.08 were obtained when the friction pair was lubricated with only a water droplet. Whereas, when the friction pair was encircled with large amount of water or fully immersed in water, the friction coefficient was higher than that under a droplet lubrication. A mechanism of water droplet lubrication was proposed that the surface tension caused by the solid-liquid-air three-phase interface makes water molecules enter into the contact zone, which separates the two friction surfaces and provides a low friction coefficient. 8Novel cued search strategy based on information gain for phased array radar显示文摘A search strategy based on the maximal information gain principle is presented for the cued search of phased array radars. First, the method for the determination of the cued search region, arrangement of beam positions, and the calculation of the prior probability distribution of each beam position is discussed. And then, two search algorithms based on information gain are proposed using Shannon entropy and Kullback-Leibler entropy, respectively. With the proposed strategy, the information gain of each beam position is predicted before the radar detection, and the observation is made in the beam position with the maximal information gain. 9Tribological properties of La_2O_3 and CeO_2 doped CoCrW coatings deposited by supersonic plasma spraying显示文摘A novel supersonic plasma spraying was used to prepare rare earth oxides doped CoCrW coatings. X-ray diffractometer, contact surface profiler, hardness tester, micro-friction and -wear tester and en- vironmental scanning electron microscope equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy were employed to investigate the phase structure, surface morphology, microhardness, friction and wear properties of the sprayed coatings. The results show that rare earth oxide doped coatings have high microhardness and excellent tribological properties. 11Copy number alteration profiling facilitates differential diagnosis between ossifying fibroma and fibrous dysplasia of the jaws显示文摘Ossifying fibroma(OF)and fibrous dysplasia(FD)are two fibro-osseous lesions with overlapping clinicopathological features,making diagnosis challenging.In this study,we applied a whole-genome shallow sequencing approach to facilitate differential diagnosis via precise profiling of copy number alterations(CNAs)using minute amounts of DNA extracted from morphologically correlated microdissected tissue samples.Freshly frozen tissue specimens from OF(n=29)and FD(n=28)patients were obtained for analysis.Lesion fibrous tissues and surrounding normal tissues were obtained by laser capture microdissection(LCM),with~30–50 cells(5000–10000µm2)per sample.We found that the rate of recurrent CNAs in OF cases was much higher(44.8%,13 of 29)than that in FD cases(3.6%,1 of 28).Sixty-nine percent(9 of 13)of the CNA-containing OF cases involved segmental amplifications and deletions on Chrs 7 and 12.We also identified eight CNA-associated genes(HILPDA,CALD1,C1GALT1,MICALL2,PHF14,AIMP2,MDM2,and CDK4)with amplified expression,which was consistent with the copy number changes.We further confirmed a jaw lesion with a previous uncertain diagnosis due to its ambiguous morphological features and the absence of GNAS mutation as OF based on the typical Chr 12 amplification pattern in its CNA profile.Moreover,analysis of a set of longitudinal samples collected from an individual with a cellular lesion in suspicion of OF at the first surgery,recurrence and the latest malignant transformation revealed identical CNA patterns at the three time points,suggesting that copy number profiling can be used as an important tool to identify borderline lesions or lesions with malignant potential.Overall,CNA profiling of fibro-osseous lesions can greatly improve differential diagnosis between OF and FD and help predict disease progression.Ming Ma Lu Liu Ruirui Shi Jianyun Zhang Xiaotian Li Xuefen Li Jiaying Bai Jianbin Wang Yanyi Huang Tiejun Li 2021International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,2:3
12Improvement in the risk assessment of oral leukoplakia through morphology-related copy number analysis显示文摘Oral leukoplakia is the most common type of oral potentially malignant disorders and considered a precursor lesion to oral squamous cell carcinoma.However,a predictor of oral leukoplakia prognosis has not yet been identified.We investigated whether copy number alteration patterns may effectively predict the prognostic outcomes of oral leukoplakia using routinely processed paraffin sections.Comparison of copy number alteration patterns between oral leukoplakia with hyperplasia(HOL,n=22)and dysplasia(DOL,n=21)showed that oral leukoplakia with dysplasia had a higher copy number alteration rate(86%)than oral leukoplakia with hyperplasia(46%).Oral leukoplakia with dysplasia exhibited a wider range of genomic variations across all chromosomes compared with oral leukoplakia with hyperplasia.We also examined a retrospective cohort of 477 patients with oral leukoplakia with hyperplasia with detailed follow-up information.The malignant transformation(MT,n=19)and leukoplakia recurrence(LR,n=253)groups had higher frequencies of aneuploidy events and copy number loss rate than the free of disease(FD,n=205)group.Together,our results revealed the association between the degree of copy number alterations and the histological grade of oral leukoplakia and demonstrated that copy number alteration may be effective for prognosis prediction in oral leukoplakia patients with hyperplasia.Xiaotian Li Lu Liu Jianyun Zhang Ming Ma Lisha Sun Xuefen Li Heyu Zhang Jianbin Wang Yanyi Huang Tiejun Li 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,9:2
13Cued search algorithm with uncertain detection performance for phased array radars显示文摘A cued search algorithm with uncertain detection performance is proposed for phased array radars.Firstly,a target search model based on the information gain criterion is presented with known detection performance,and the statistical characteristic of the detection probability is calculated by using the fluctuant model of the target radar cross section (RCS).Secondly,when the detection probability is completely unknown,its probability density function is modeled with a beta distribution,and its posterior probability distribution with the radar observation is derived based on the Bayesian theory.Finally simulation results show that the cued search algorithm with a known RCS fluctuant model can achieve the best performance,and the algorithm with the detection probability modeled as a beta distribution is better than that with a random selected detection probability because the model parameters can be updated by the radar observation to approach to the real value of the detection probability.Jianbin Lu Hui Xiao Zemin Xi Mingmin Zhang 2013Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2013,24,6:2

20Programming bare-metal accelerators with heterogeneous threading models:a case study of Matrix-3000显示文摘As the hardware industry moves toward using specialized heterogeneous many-core processors to avoid the effects of the power wall,software developers are finding it hard to deal with the complexity of these systems.In this paper,we share our experience of developing a programming model and its supporting compiler and libraries for Matrix-3000,which is designed for next-generation exascale supercomputers but has a complex memory hierarchy and processor organization.To assist its software development,we have developed a software stack from scratch that includes a low-level programming interface and a high-level OpenCL compiler.Our low-level programming model offers native programming support for using the bare-metal accelerators of Matrix-3000,while the high-level model allows programmers to use the OpenCL programming standard.We detail our design choices and highlight the lessons learned from developing system software to enable the programming of bare-metal accelerators.Our programming models have been deployed in the production environment of an exascale prototype system.Jianbin FANG Peng ZHANG Chun HUANG Tao TANG Kai LU Ruibo WANG Zheng WANG 2023Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2023,24,4:1
