1The modified bilobed flap for reconstructing sacral decubitus ulcers显示文摘Background:Sacral pressure ulcers are associated with high morbidity and,in some cases,result in mortality from severe sepsis.Local flaps are frequently used for reconstruction of stage III and IV pressure ulcers.An ideal flap should be simple to design,have a reliable vascular supply and minimal donor site morbidity.Our study evaluates the use of a bilobed flap based on the superficial branch of the superior gluteal artery or the posterior branch of the fourth lumbar artery to reconstruct the sacral pressure ulcer.Case presentation:We performed a retrospective analysis of paraplegic patients with sacral pressure ulcers treated with our bilobed flaps from January 2015 to December 2019.A description of our management,operative protocol,outcome and complications is outlined.Seven paraplegic patients(6 male,1 female;average age 53.1 years)with sacral pressure ulcers were treated with our bilobed flap based on the superficial branch of the superior gluteal artery or the posterior branch of the fourth lumbar artery.The average size of the pressure ulcers was 7×5 cm(range 6.2×4.5 cm to 11×10 cm).All 7 flaps survived.The patients were followed up for 12 months without significant complications,such as flap necrosis or recurrence.Conclusions:The superficial branch of the superior gluteal artery or the posterior branch of the fourth lumbar artery reliably supplies the bilobed flap.The superior cluneal nerve can be included in the design.The technique is simple and reliable.It should be included in the reconstructive algorithm for the management of sacral pressure ulcers.Xiangong Jiao Chunxiao Cui Sally Kiu-Huen Ng Zhangjia Jiang Chihui Tu Jiemin Zhou Xiandong Lu Xianwen Ouyang Tong Luo Ke Li Yixin Zhang 2020Burns & Trauma2020,8,1:4
2A numerical study on the circulation and tide in a zigzag bay显示文摘The Shacheng Bay(SCB) is one of the most complex coastal bays in southeast China and due to the fact of complicated geometry and dynamic coastal processes, it is considered as a challenging area for the numerical simulation of its hydrodynamic characteristics. The most advanced finite volume ocean model, finite-volume coastal ocean model(FVCOM), has adopted to simulate this hydrodynamic system, where tidal currents, tidal residual current and dye diffusion processes were studied and analyzed quantitatively. The validation of this numerical model matches well with various observation data, including elevation and current data. The misfit of a tidal elevation has a relative standard error of 3.66% and 4.67% for M2 and S2 tide components. The current validation shows a good match with an average error of 10 cm/s and 8° in the speed major axis and its direction respectively between the simulation and the measurement. This proves the robustness and reliability of this model. It is also found that the cape effect is significant and important in this system. The dye diffusion simulations show a 53 d flushing period for the whole inner bay waterbody. 3Highly Dispersed Cobalt Nanoparticles Embedded in Nitrogen-Doped Graphitized Carbon for Fast and Durable Potassium Storage显示文摘Potassium-ion batteries(KIBs)have great potential for applications in large-scale energy storage devices.However,the larger radius of K+leads to sluggish kinetics and inferior cycling performance,severely restricting its practical applicability.Herein,we propose a rational strategy involving a Prussian blue analogue-derived graphitized carbon anode with fast and durable potassium storage capability,which is constructed by encapsulating cobalt nanoparticles in nitrogen-doped graphitized carbon(Co-NC).Both experimental and theoretical results show that N-doping effectively promotes the uniform dispersion of cobalt nanoparticles in the carbon matrix through Co-N bonds.Moreover,the cobalt nanoparticles and strong Co-N bonds synergistically form a threedimensional conductive network,increase the number of adsorption sites,and reduce the diffusion energy barrier,thereby facilitating the adsorption and the diffusion kinetics.These multiple effects lead to enhanced reversible capacities of 305 and 208.6 mAh g^−1 after 100 and 300 cycles at 0.05 and 0.1 A g^−1,respectively,demonstrating the applicability of the Co-NC anode for KIBs.Xiaodong Shi Zhenming Xu Cheng Han Runze Shi Xianwen Wu Bingan Lu Jiang Zhou Shuquan Liang 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,2:4

5Analyses of the long-term salinity variability in the Bohai Sea and the northern Huanghai (Yellow) Sea显示文摘Based on the comprehensive collection of the field observed salinity of the Bohai Sea (BHS) and the northern Huanghai Sea (NHS) from the 1950s to the present, the patterns of 10-years-averaged salinity at the different layers in the recent five decades (the 1950s, the 1960s, the 1970s, the 1980s and the 1990s) are obtained by the spatial-temporal interpolation technique with the scrupulous data quality control in this study. Then, by combining the spatial-temporal interpolation technique with successive correction method, the annual distributions of salinity both in the BHS and in the NHS are obtained as well. The data analyses indicate that the overall salinity in the BHS and the NHS increases from the 1960s till the present, with the increase of annual mean salinity of 0.04 psu from the 1950s, and the maximum increase rate of salinity is about 0.14 psu/a in the Bohai Bay. The high salinity tongue extended significantly from the NHS into the BHS. The intensified eastern wind field is related to the western intrusion of the NHS warm current, which probably leads to the moving forward of the high salinity water mass into the BHS. However, it is rather different from the salinity distribution characteristics between the 1950s and the 1960s. The extensive precipitation in the 1960s could lead to an increase in the discharge of the Huanghe River, which might result in the decrease of salinity in the BHS. But the salinity isoline of 32 in the NHS still extended significantly into the BHS in the 1960s. Since the 1980s, the patterns of salinity distribution have changed thoroughly. The salinity in the central area of the BHS was low, while the salinity in the Bohai Bay and the Liaodong Bay was higher than the other regions with its horizontal salinity gradient decreasing in the 1980s. The Empirical Orthogonal Function Analysis (EOF) is also conducted to study the interannual salinity variability of the BHS and the NHS. The correlation coefficient between the time coefficient series of the main mode and the Huanghe River discharge can reach-64.57%. 6Influences of mass flow rate on heat and mass transfer performances of water sublimator combined with fluid loop显示文摘For spacecraft working in vacuum environment, sublimator is an effective heat rejection approach to reject system's peak heat load, and supplement spacecraft radiation heat rejection. For a spacecraft active fluid loop thermal control system combined with sublimator, waste heat generated from multi-point distributed heat sources could be collected by the fluid loop efficiently. However, the heat and mass transfer performances of the sublimator combined with fluid loop have not been adequately studied in previous research, especially for the influences of the heat load. Since work fluid mass flow rate is the main factor affecting heat load of the fluid loop, this context experimentally studied influences of the fluid loop mass flow rate on sublimator start-up transient characteristics, including heat transfer performances, response time, and work stability. Results indicated that the fluid loop mass flow rate affected the sublimator heat and mass transfer performances obviously, but the heat rejection ability is not always increase with the increasing of the fluid loop mass flow rate. 17Fruits foraging patterns and seed dispersal effect of frugivorous birds on Hippophae rhamnoides sinensis显示文摘Behaviors of 18 species of birds eating fruits of Hippophae rhamnoides spp.sinensis were observed from September 2003 to March 2004.Their foraging patterns were found to be very different and can be divided into five classes:(1)direct swallowing the fruits on crown of the shrubs and sometimes regurgitating seeds soon after;(2)carrying the fruits to their perching sites and swallowing;(3)pecking the fruits from the shrubs to the ground,eating pulp and seeds but leaving pericarp;(4)pecking through the pericarp,eating pulp and leaving pericarp and seeds;(5)pecking through the pericarp on the top of fruits,and only eating seeds.These foraging patterns have different effects on seed dispersal of H.rhamnoides spp.sinensis.The germina-tion experiment of three groups of seeds(seeds from feces,dry fruits and extracted seeds from dry fruits)was carried out.Although ingestion processes of birds had some adverse effects on the seed germination of H.rhamnoides spp.sinensis,the seeds from feces still have a relatively higher germination ratio.H.rhamnoides spp.sinensis provides food to a variety of frugivorous birds,and the birds disperse its seeds.Thus,a mutually beneficial relationship between the bird and the seed is formed.LU Xianwen SUN Kun MA Ruijun ZHANG Hui SU Xue WANG Mingli 2006Frontiers in Biology2006,1,3:0
18Assessing the spread risk of COVID-19 associated with multi-mode transportation networks in China显示文摘The spatial spread of COVID-19 during early 2020 in China was primarily driven by outbound travelers leaving the epicenter,Wuhan,Hubei province.Existing studies focus on the influence of aggregated out-bound population flows originating from Wuhan;however,the impacts of different modes of transportation and the network structure of transportation systems on the early spread of COVID-19 in China are not well understood.Here,we assess the roles of the road,railway,and air transportation networks in driving the spatial spread of COVID-19 in China.We find that the short-range spread within Hubei province was dominated by ground traffic,notably,the railway transportation.In contrast,long-range spread to cities in other provinces was mediated by multiple factors,including a higher risk of case importation associated with air transportation and a larger outbreak size in hub cities located at the center of transportation networks.We further show that,although the dissemination of SARS-CoV-2 across countries and continents is determined by the worldwide air transportation network,the early geographic dispersal of COVID-19 within China is better predicted by the railway traffic.Given the recent emergence of multiple more transmissible variants of SARS-CoV-2,our findings can support a better assessment of the spread risk of those variants and improve future pandemic preparedness and responses.Xiao-Ke Xu Xiao Fan Liu Lin Wang Ye Wu Xin Lu Xianwen Wang Sen Pei 2023Fundamental Research2023,3,2:0

20Tea-derived carbon materials as anode for high-performance sodium ion batteries显示文摘Sodium-ion batteries(SIB) have attracted widespread attention in large-scale energy storage fields owing to the abundant reserve in the earth and similar properties of sodium to lithium. Biomass-based carbon materials with low-cost, controllable structure, simple processing technology, and environmental friendliness tick almost all the right boxes as one of the promising anode materials for SIB. Herein, we present a simple novel strategy involving tea tomenta biomass-derived carbon anode with enhanced interlayer carbon distance(0.44 nm) and high performance, which is constructed by N,P co-doped hard carbon(Tea-1100-NP) derived from tea tomenta. The prepared Tea-1100-NP composite could deliver a high reversible capacity(326.1 m Ah/g at 28 m A/g), high initial coulombic efficiency(ICE = 90% at 28 m A/g),stable cycle life(262.4 m Ah/g at 280 m A/g for 100 cycles), and superior rate performance(224.5 m Ah/g at 1400 m A/g). Experimental results show that the excellent electrochemical performance of Tea-1100-NP due to the high number of active N,P-containing groups, and disordered amorphous structures provide ample active sites and increase the conductivity, meanwhile, large amounts of microporous shorten the Na+diffusion distance as well as quicken ion transport.
