1A new tripodal rhodamine B derivative as a highly selective and sensitive fluorescence chemosensor for copper(Ⅱ)显示文摘A new tripodal rhodamine B derivative 2 was designed and synthesized by tripodal trialdehyde and rhodamine B hydrazide for the first time. This derivative could be used as a fluorescent chemosensor for the selective and sensitive determination of copper(II) in Tris-HCl buffer and ethanol aqueous mixed media. Under the optimum conditions described herein,fluorescence enhancement at 557/577 nm was linearly related to the concentration of copper(II) in the range of 0.10 to 10.00×10-5 mol·L-1,with a corre-lation coefficient of R2=0.9964 (n=15) and a detection limit of 1.129×10-7 mol·L-1 (the relative standard deviation for five repeated measurements at 4.00×10-5 mol·L-1 Cu(II) was 2.2%). 3Constructing charge transfer channel between dopants and oxygen vacancies for enhanced visible-light-driven water oxidation显示文摘Photocatalytic water oxidation is a crucial step in water splitting,but is generally restricted by the slow kinetics.Therefore,it is necessary to develop high-performance water oxidation photocatalysts.Herein,the Fe-doped Bi2WO6 nanosheets with oxygen vacancies(OVs)were synthesized for enhanced photocatalytic water oxidation efficiency,showing a synergistic effect between Fe dopants and OVs.When a molar fraction of 2%Fe was doped into the Bi2WO6 nanosheets,the visible-light-driven photocatalytic oxygen evolution rate was increased up to 131.3μmol·h^(-1)·g_(cat)^(-1)under ambient conditions,which was more than 3 times that of pure Bi2WO6 nanosheets.The proper doping concentration of Fe could promote the formation of OVs and at the same time modulate the band structure of catalysts,especially the position of the valence band maximum(VBM),leading to effective visible-light absorption and enhanced oxidizing ability of photogenerated holes.With ameliorated localized electron distribution,fast charge transfer channel emerged between the OVs and adjacent metal atoms,which accelerated the charge carrier transfer and promoted the separation of photoexcited electrons and holes.This work provides feasible approaches for designing efficient two-dimensional semiconductor water oxidation photocatalysts that could utilize visible-light,which will make more use of solar energy.Ming Cheng Lan Yang Huiyi Li Wei Bai Chong Xiao Yi Xie 2021Nano Research2021,14,10:5

8Anti-inflammatory Activity and Mechanism of Total Flavonoids from the Phloem of Paulownia elongate S.Y. Hu in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 Macrophages显示文摘The juice leaked from broken phloem of Paulownia elongate S.Y.Hu has been used to cure acute inflammation resulted from stung injury by poisonous insects for a long time in China,but its potential mechanism remains unclear.The present study was designed to evaluate anti-inflammatory activity and mechanism of total flavonoids from the phloem of P.elongate S.Y.Hu in RAW264.7 cells.Lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced nitric oxide(NO)was measured by Griess and mRNA of pro-inflammatory mediators was analyzed by q-PCR.Cell viability was measured using cell counting kit(CCK)-8 assay.The protein level was analyzed by Western blot.The results showed that the total flavonoids of P.elongate significantly inhibited the production of the pro-inflammatory mediators such as NO,interleukin(IL)-1β and interleukin(IL)-6 in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells.Total flavonoids of P.elongate exerted potential anti-inflammatory activity through the regulation of several signaling pathways.Total flavonoids of P.elongate inhibited JAK/STAT by blocking JAK2 and STAT3 phosphorylation levels.This is the first report on anti-inflammatory activity of total flavonoids from the phloem of P.elongate,which suggests that the total flavonoids of P.elongate may have great potential for the development of anti-inflammatory drug to treat inflammatory disorders.Liyan LI Tao HUANG Chong LAN 2021Agricultural Biotechnology2021,10,3:1
9A comparison of food habits and prey preferences of Amur tiger(Panthera tigris altaica)at the southwest Primorskii Krai in Russia and Hunchun in China显示文摘A small,isolated Amur tiger population ranges across the southwest Primorskii Krai region in Russia and Hunchun region in China.Many individuals,with“dual nationality,”cross the border frequently.Formulating effective conservation strategies requires a clear understanding of tiger food requirements in both countries.While the diets of tigers ranging in Russia is clearly understood,little is known of the tigers’feeding habits in China..We used scat analysis combined with data on the abundance of 4 prey species to examine Amur tiger diet and prey preferences in Hunchun.We examined 53 tiger scat samples from 2011 to 2016 and found that tigers preyed on 12 species(11 species in winter),4 of which were domestic animals with 33.58%biomass contribution;this was the first record of Amur tigers eating lynx in this area.Tigers showed a strong preference for wild boar(Jacobs index:+0.849),which were also the most frequently consumed prey,and a strong avoidance of roe deer(Jacobs index:–0.693).On the Russian side,domestic animals(just dog)were rarely found in tiger scat,and tigers did not show strong avoidance of roe deer,but of sika deer.We also found red deer footprints during winter surveys and that tigers ate red deer on the Chinese side,while there was no record of red deer feeding on the Russian side.Reducing or eliminating human disturbance,such as grazing,is essential to recovering tiger prey and habitat in this area and the Sino–Russian joint ungulate annual survey is indispensable for prey estimates of this small,isolated Amur tiger population.Jiayin GU Lan YU Yan HUA Yao NING Bao HENG Jinzhe QI Zexv LONG Mingyuan YAO Chong HUANG Zhilin LI Jianming LANG Guangshun JIANG Jianzhang MA 2018Integrative Zoology2018,13,5:1

13Development of low-coherence high-power laser drivers for inertial confinement fusion显示文摘The use of low-coherence light is expected to be one of the effective ways to suppress or even eliminate the laser–plasma instabilities that arise in attempts to achieve inertial confinement fusion.In this paper,a review of low-coherence high-power laser drivers and related key techniques is first presented.Work at typical low-coherence laser facilities,including Gekko XII,PHEBUS,Pharos III,and Kanal-2 is described.The many key techniques that are used in the research and development of low-coherence laser drivers are described and analyzed,including low-coherence source generation,amplification,harmonic conversion,and beam smoothing of low-coherence light.Then,recent progress achieved by our group in research on a broadband low-coherence laser driver is presented.During the development of our low-coherence high-power laser facility,we have proposed and implemented many key techniques for working with low-coherence light,including source generation,efficient amplification and propagation,harmonic conversion,beam smoothing,and precise beam control.Based on a series of technological breakthroughs,a kilojoule low-coherence laser driver named Kunwu with a coherence time of only 300 fs has been built,and the first round of physical experiments has been completed.This high-power laser facility provides not only a demonstration and verification platform for key techniques and system integration of a low-coherence laser driver,but also a new type of experimental platform for research into,for example,high-energy-density physics and,in particular,laser–plasma interactions.Yanqi Gao Yong Cui Lailin Ji Daxing Rao Xiaohui Zhao Fujian Li Dong Liu Wei Feng Lan Xia Jiani Liu Haitao Shi Pengyuan Du Jia Liu Xiaoli Li Tao Wang Tianxiong Zhang Chong Shan Yilin Hua Weixin Ma Xun Sun Xianfeng Chen Xiuguang Huang Jian Zhu Wenbing Pei Zhan Sui Sizu Fu 2020Matter and Radiation at Extremes2020,5,6:1

15Photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants using green oil palm frond-derived carbon quantum dots/titanium dioxide as multifunctional photocatalysts under visible light radiation显示文摘The present work suggested the use of waste oil palm frond as an alternative precursor for nitrogendoped carbon quantum dots(NCQDs)and proposed a straightforward in-situ hydrothermal method for the preparation of NCQDs/TiO_(2)nanocomposites.The elemental composition,morphological,structural and optical characteristics of NCQDs/TiO_(2)nanocomposites have been comprehensively investigated.The successful grafting of NCQDs on TiO_(2)matrix was confirmed by the formation of Ti AOAC bond and the electronic coupling between theπ-states of NCQDs and the conduction band of TiO_(2).For the first time,the oil palm frond-derived NCQDs/TiO_(2)was adopted in the photodegradation of methylene blue(MB)under visible-light irradiation.As a result,the photocatalytic efficiency of NCQDs/TiO_(2)nanocomposites(86.16%)was 2.85 times higher than its counterpart TiO_(2)(30.18%).The enhanced performance of nanocomposites was attributed to the pivotal roles of NCQDs serving as electron mediator and visiblelight harvester.Besides,the optimal NCQDs loading was determined at 4 ml while the removal efficiency of NCQDs/TiO_(2)-4 was the highest at a catalyst dosage of 1 g.L^(-1)under alkaline condition.This research work is important as it proposed a new insight to the preparation of biomass-based NCQDs/TiO_(2)using a facile synthetic method,which offers a green and sustainable water remediation technology.Zeng Wei Heng Woon Chan Chong Yean Ling Pang Lan Ching Sim Chai Hoon Koo 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,,11:1

18Clinical utility of PDX cohorts to reveal biomarkers of intrinsic resistance and clonal architecture changes underlying acquired resistance to cetuximab in HNSCC显示文摘Cetuximab is a widely used drug for treating head and neck squamous cell carcinomas(HNSCCs);however,it provides restricted clinical benefits,and its response duration is limited by drug resistance.Here,we conducted randomized“Phase II-like clinical trials”of 49 HNSCC PDX models and reveal multiple informative biomarkers for intrinsic resistance to cetuximab(e.g.,amplification of ANKH,up-regulation of PARP3).After validating these intrinsic resistance biomarkers in another HNSCC PDX cohort(61 PDX models),we generated acquired cetuximab resistance PDX models and analyzed them to uncover resistance mechanisms.Whole exome sequencing and transcriptome sequencing revealed diverse patterns of clonal selection in acquired resistant PDXs,including the emergence of subclones with strongly activated RAS/MAPK.Extending these insights,we show that a combination of a RAC1/RAC3 dual-target inhibitor and cetuximab could overcome acquired cetuximab resistance in vitro and in vivo.Beyond revealing intrinsic resistance biomarkers,our PDX-based study shows how clonal architecture changes underlying acquired resistance can be targeted to expand the therapeutic utility of this important drug to more HNSCC patients.Yanli Yao Yujue Wang Lan Chen Zhen Tian Guizhu Yang Rui Wang Chong Wang Qi Wu Yaping Wu Jiamin Gao Xindan Kang Shengzhong Duan Zhiyuan Zhang Shuyang Sun 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,4:1

20Phenomic and metabolomic responses of roots to cadmium reveal contrasting resistance strategies in two rice cultivars(Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘To cope with heavy metal stress,plant root systems undergo root structure modification and release of multifarious metabolites.Elucidation of the resistance strategies to heavy metals mediated by the root system is crucial to comprehend the resistance mechanisms of plants.Here two rice cultivars with contrasting grain cadmium(Cd)accumulation traits were selected and the responses of their root systems to Cd stress were evaluated by morphological and metabolomics analysis.The phenomic and metabolomic responses of the root system varied between the two cultivars under Cd stress.The low-Cd accumulation rice cultivar(TY816)had a more highly developed root system that coped with Cd stress(10μM)by maintaining high root activity,while the root cells of the high-Cd accumulation cultivar(JY841)lost viability due to excessive Cd accumulation.TY816 upregulated lipids and fatty acids to reduce Cd uptake,whereas JY841 upregulated phenylethanoid glycosides to cope with Cd-induced oxidative stress.The combination of metabolomics and phenomics revealed that rice roots employ multiple strategies to increase their tolerance of Cd-induced oxidative stress.Differing capacities to shape the root system architecture and reprogram root exudate metabolites may contribute to the contrasting Cd accumulation abilities between JY841 and TY816.Chong Liu Mo-ming Lan Er-kai He Ai-jun Yao Guo-bao Wang Ye-tao Tang Rong-liang Qiu 2021Soil Ecology Letters2021,3,3:1
