5Correlation between Vascular Calcification and Serum Sclerostin in MHD Patients显示文摘Objective Investigate the correlation between serum sclerostinlevel and chronic kidney disease-mineral and bone disorder(CKD-MBD),especially vascular calcification,in maintenance hemodialysis(MHD)patients.Methods This is across-sectional study,a total of 72 MHD patients were included from the first affiliated hospital of Jinan university.Measure the biochemical indicators of mineral metabolism,renal function,and serum sclerostin level by ELISA.The abdominal aorta calcification score(AACS)was assessed according to Kauppila method on lateral spine imaging using DEXA.Patients were distributed into two groups according to the level of serum sclerostin:low sclerostingroup(≤125 pg/ml)and high sclerostingroup(>125 pg/ml).Analyze the association of serum sclerostin level with the indicators of CKD-MBD.Results There was significant difference in i PTH level between high sclerost in group and low sclerost in group.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis demonstrated that dialysis duration,male and anuria were independent risk factor of high sclerostin level,and i PTH and Kt/V were protective factors.Conclusion Dialysis duration,man,anuria was independent risk factors and i PTH,Kt/V were protective factors of high serum sclerostin level in MHD patients.There was no correlation between abdominal aorta calcification and serum sclerostin level.Yangyang Zhang Shufei Zeng Chen Yun Lifeng Yang Fanna Liu Guanmin Wu Taksui Wong Bo Hu Xiangnan Dong Folan Li Yu Chen Peitian Yang Aiyun Cha Huanhuan Liu Mingming Ma B.Hocher W. 7The plasmodesmata-associated β-1,3-glucanase gene GhPdBG regulates fiber development in cotton显示文摘Trichomes are specialized structures that originate from epidermal cells of organs in higher plants.The cotton fiber is a unique single-celled trichome that elongates from the seed coat epidermis.Cotton(Gossypium hirsutum)fibers and trichomes are models for cell differentiation.In an attempt to elucidate the intercellular factors that regulate fiber and trichome cell development,we identified a plasmodesmal β-1,3-glucanase gene(designated GhPdBG)controlling the opening and closing of plasmodesmata in cotton fibers.Structural and evolutionary analysis showed haplotypic variation in the promoter region of the GhPdBG gene among 352 cotton accessions,but high conservation in the coding region.GhPdBG was expressed predominantly in cotton fibers and localized to plasmodesmata(PD).Expression patterns of PdBG that corresponded to PD permeability were apparent during fiber development in G.hirsutum and G.barbadense.The PdBG-mediated opening-closure of PD appears to be involved in fiber development and may account for the contrasting fiber traits of these two species.Ectopic expression of GhPdBG revealed that it functions in regulating fiber and trichome length and/or density by modulating plasmodesmatal permeability.This finding suggests that plasmodesmal targeting of GhPdBG,as a switch of intercellular channels,regulates single-celled fiber and trichome development in cotton.Yijie Fan Shuangshuang Lin Yanhui Lyu Haihong Shang Youlu Yuan Zhengmin Tang Chengzhi Jiao Aiyun Chen Piyi Xing Li Zhang Yuxiao Sun Haixia Guo Tongtong Li Zhonghai Ren Fanchang Zeng 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,6:0
8Clinical Analysis of Microdebrider Removal of Recurrent Respiratory Papilloma: A Report of 33 Cases显示文摘OBJECTIVE To investigate the advantages of applying microdebrider re- moval of juvenile-onset recurrent respiratory papillary epithelioma (JO- RRP), using an endoscopy-assisted prop-up laryngoscope. METHODS The degree of severity of the neoplasms was divided into 3 scores (i.e. 1 point for a slight degree, 2 points for a moderate and 3 points for a severe degree). The involvement of 22 respiratory and diges- tive sub-areas was evaluated and the total accumulative scoring and the scores for the lesions in the vocal area were calculated and sub - grouped. All the papillary epitheliomas were excised using a laryngeal micro-debrider or the micro laryngeal forceps under endoscopy-assist- ed suspension laryngoscopy. The differences between applications of the two modes of treatment for the cases of the groups with same scoring were compared as follows: the operation time, interval of operation, recent vocal quality after operation, postoperative scarring and incision of the trachea, as well as the distribution of tumors in a re-operation. RESULTS The 142 operative procedures were performed in 33 pediatric patients, with application of a laryngeal microdebrider in 14 cases and ex- cision in 19. Compared to the excision group (EG), the laryngeal mi- crodebrider group (MDG) displayed many superior features, such as a short operation time, long interval between operations, obvious improve- ment in vocal quality soon after operation, and a low frequency of subse- quent tumors. There was a significant difference between these modes of the operation. A postoperative incision of the trachea was required in 2 cases of EG, whereas no post-operation was needed in the MDG. CONCLUSION There are many advantages in using laryngeal micro-de- brider removal of JO -RRP. 9Topological superconductor candidates PdBi_(2)Te_(4) and PdBi_(2)Te_(5) from a generic ab initio strategy显示文摘Superconducting topological metals(SCTMs)have recently emerged as a promising platform of topological superconductivity(TSC)and Majorana zero modes for quantum computation.Despite their importance in both fundamental research and applications,SCTMs are very rare in nature.Here,we propose a strategy to design SCTMs by intercalating the superconducting units into the topological insulators.A program that characterizes the superconducting BdG Chern number of 2D BdG Hamiltonian from ab initio calculations is also developed.Following this strategy,PdBi_(2)Te_(5) and PdBi_(2)Te_(4) are found to be experimentally synthesizable and ideal SCTMs.Chiral TSC could be realized in such SCTMs by incorporating topological surface states with Zeeman effect,which can be realized by an external magnetic field or in proximity to ferromagnetic insulator.Our strategy provides a new method for identifying the SCTMs and TSC candidates,and the program makes it possible to design and modulate the TSC candidates from ab initio calculations.Aiyun Luo Ying Li Yi Qin Jingnan Hu Xiaoxu Wang Jinyu Zou Biao Lian Gang Xu 2023npj Computational Materials2023,,1:0

11TXNIP aggravates cardiac fibrosis and dysfunction after myocardial infarction in mice by enhancing the TGFB1/Smad3 pathway and promoting NLRP3 inflammasome activation显示文摘Myocardial infarction(MI)results in high mortality.The size of fibrotic scar tissue following MI is an independent predictor of MI outcomes.Thioredoxin-interacting protein(TXNIP)is involved in various fibrotic diseases.Its role in post-MI cardiac fibrosis,however,remains poorly understood.In the present study,we investigate the biological role of TXNIP in post-MI cardiac fibrosis and the underlying mechanism using mouse MI models of the wild-type(WT),Txnip-knockout(Txnip-KO)type and Txnip-knock-in(Txnip-KI)type.After MI,the animals present with significantly upregulated TXNIP levels,and their fibrotic areas are remarkably expanded with noticeably impaired cardiac function.These changes are further aggravated under Txnip-KI conditions but are ameliorated in Txnip-KO animals.MI also leads to increased protein levels of the fibrosis indices Collagen I,Collagen III,actin alpha 2(ACTA2),and connective tissue growth factor(CTGF).The Txnip-KI group exhibits the highest levels of these proteins,while the lowest levels are observed in the Txnip-KO mice.Furthermore,Txnip-KI significantly upregulates the levels of transforming growth factor(TGF)B1,p-Smad3,NOD-,LRR-and pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3),Cleaved Caspase-1,and interleukin(IL)1B after MI,but these effects are markedly offset by Txnip-KO.In addition,after MI,the Smad7 level significantly decreases,particularly in the Txnip-KI mice.TXNIP may aggravate the progression of post-MI fibrosis and cardiac dysfunction by activating the NLRP3 inflammasome,followed by IL1B generation and then the enhancement of the TGFB1/Smad3 pathway.As such,TXNIP might serve as a novel potential therapeutic target for the treatment of post-MI cardiac fibrosis.Yan Zhang Jin Wang Xuejiao Wang Aiyun Li Zhandong Lei Dongxue Li Dehai Xing Yichao Zhang Wanzhen Su Xiangying Jiao 2023Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,12:0
12Analysis of Performance Stability and Clinical Efficacy of OBERS - 3000 Hemodialysis Machine显示文摘Objective To explore the method of safety and efficacy validation of hemodialysis machine,and observe the clinical efficacy of OBERS-3000 multifunctional hemodialysis machine.Methods Randomized,open,two-phase crossover and positive control design,a total of 72 patients from two hospitals were included.OBERS-3000 multifunctional hemodialysis machine was the test machine,and the Fresenius 4008 series hemodialysis machine was as the control machine,indicators of blood routine test,serum electrolytes,liver and kidney function test,blood gas analysis,CRP were compared,body weight before and after hemodialysis,ultrafiltration volume were recorded,urea clearance index,urea reduction ratio were calculated.The XL90 conductivity meter was connected in series in the test machine,to monitor the temperature,conductance,venous pressure and arterial pressure during the dialysis in real time,and the measured value were compared with the machine monitoring value.Results Both of the test machine and the control machine could effectively eliminate creatinine,urea nitrogen and other uremic toxins,could continuously supply qualified dialysate,and precisely control the ultrafiltration volume.There were no significant differences in temperature,conductance,venous pressure and arterial pressure monitoring with the real time measured value by XL90 conductivity meter.Conclusions OBERS-3000 multifunctional hemodialysis machine can effectively eliminate uremic toxins,maintain electrolyte and acid-base balance,and can accurately display the monitoring parameters.Lianghong Yin Bo Hu Lihua Luo Lifeng Yang Guanmin Wu Liangyong Hu Fanna Liu Yu Chen Peitian Yang Long Xiao Huiyuan Zheng Tong Liu Hongwei Hu Chen Yun Ying Huang Xia Yu Folan Li Aiyun Cha Xiangnan Dong Huanhuan Liu Mingming Ma Yongpin Lu Taksui Wong Baozhang Guan Yingming Gu Zuhui Chen 2017临床医学工程2017,24,S1:0
