1Dietary resveratrol improves antioxidant status of sows and piglets and regulates antioxidant gene expression in placenta by Keap1-Nrf2 pathway and Sirt1显示文摘Background: Resveratrol, a plant phenol, affords protection against inflammation and oxidative stress. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of dietary resveratrol supplementation during pregnancy and lactation on the antioxidant status of sows and piglets and on antioxidant gene expression and pathway in placenta.Methods: Forty sows were allotted to 2 dietary treatments 20 d after breeding. Sows were fed a control diet and a control diet with 300 mg/kg resveratrol. Oxidative stress biomarkers and antioxidant enzymes were measured in the placenta, milk, and plasma of sows and piglets. Antioxidant gene expression and protein expression of Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1-Nuclear factor E2-related factor 2(Keap1-Nrf2), nuclear factor kappa B-p65(NFκB-p65) and sirtuin1(Sirt1) were quantified in the placenta.Results: Dietary resveratrol increased the litter and piglets weaning weights. Antioxidant status in the milk, placenta and plasma of sows and piglets was partially improved by dietary resveratrol. In placenta, Nrf2 protein expression was increased and Keap1 protein expression was decreased by dietary resveratrol. The m RNA expression of antioxidant genes including catalase(CAT), glutathione peroxidase 1(GPX1), GPX4, superoxide dismutase 1(SOD1)and heme oxygenase 1(HO1), and phase 2 detoxification genes, including glutamate-cysteine ligase modifier(GCLM), microsomal glutathione S-transferase 1(MGST1) and UDP glucuronosyltransferase family 1 member A1(UGT1 A1), was increased by dietary resveratrol. Dietary resveratrol also increased Sirt1 and phosphorylated NFκB-p65 protein expression in the placenta. We failed to observe any influences of dietary resveratrol on pro-inflammatory cytokine levels, including those of interleukin 1β(IL-1β), IL-6, IL-8 and tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α). However, we observed that the m RNA expression of IL-8 in placenta was reduced by maternal resveratrol. In addition, dietary resveratrol showed interactive effects with day of lactation on activities of SOD and CAT and levels of malonaldehyde(MDA) and hydrogen peroxide(H2 O2) in milk.Conclusions: Dietary resveratrol supplementation during pregnancy and lactation improves the antioxidant status of sows and piglets, which is beneficial to the reproductive performance of sows. 5Effects of Sampling Conditions on Composition and Emission Characteristics of Volatile Organic Compounds in Process Units from Different Refineries显示文摘This study investigates the effects of sampling conditions on volatile organic compound(VOC)compositions including different flow restrictors,SUMMA volumes,sampling heights,and wind speeds.Results show that at the six sampling heights the concentrations of main VOC species were slightly different,while the wind speed had a greater impact on the VOC composition of source profiles.With the increase of wind speed,the weighted percentage of high-carbon aromatic hydrocarbons was higher.Besides,there was an extremely different profile between the normal production and shutdown conditions of the delayed coking unit.To compare the emission characteristics of VOCs in various process units of the S and the C refineries,the samples were collected from the catalytic cracking unit,the continuous catalytic reforming unit,and the delayed coking unit.In the continuous catalytic reforming unit,C3-C5 alkanes and low-carbon aromatic hydrocarbons were the main components collected from the S and the C refineries,accounting for 67.1%and 34.9%,respectively.For the delayed coking unit,the total weighted percentage of high carbon C6-C12 alkanes was significantly higher than other units in the S and the C refineries,accounting for 30.5%and 24.4%,respectively.In the catalytic cracking unit,the low-carbon C2-C5 alkanes were abundant,and the weighted percentage of propylene was higher.The emission characteristics obtained were consistent with the processing technology of production units.The results indicate that the VOC emission characteristics from the same production unit in different refineries have similarities and significant differences which are related to the technological process.The emission characteristics of VOCs could provide the data support for source apportionment work in the production units.Feng Yunxia Xiao Anshan Li Bo Dong Rui Jia Runzhong Li Mingjun 2020China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2020,22,3:3
6Modified halloysite nanotubes reduce the toxic effects of zearalenone in gestating sows on growth and muscle development of their offsprings显示文摘Background: Zearalenone(ZEN) is an estrogenic mycotoxin that is primarily produced by Fusarium fungi and has been proven to affect the reproductive capacity of many species to varying degrees. The present experiment was designed to study the maternal persistent effects of zearalenone toxicity in gestating sows on growth and muscle development of their offsprings, and the alleviation of zearalenone toxicity by modified halloysite nanotubes(MHNTs).Methods: Eighteen sows were fed with one of three dietary treatments that included the following:(1) a control diet,(2) a contaminated grain diet(with 50 % moldy corn, 2.77 mg/kg ZEN), and(3) a contaminated grain diet(with 50 %moldy corn, 2.76 mg/kg ZEN) + 1 % MHNTs. Each sow was exclusively fed its experimental diets from 35 to 70 d of gestation at a total of 2 kg daily. Muscle samples were collected from six piglets per treatment at birth, weaning and finishing.Results: The results showed that feeding the sows with the ZEN-contaminated diets from 35 to 70 d of gestation decreased the ADG, ADFI and G:F of their offsprings(P < 0.05). The muscle fiber numbers in the newborn, weaning and growing-finishing pigs and the muscle fiber diameters at birth and weaning were also decreased by maternal ZEN exposure(P < 0.05). The expressions of IGF-I, IGF-II, Myf-5 and Mstn at birth and IGF-II, Pax7, Myf-5 and Myo D1 at weaning were altered by feeding gestating sows with ZEN-contaminated diets(P < 0.05). The MHNTs reduced most of the ZEN-induced toxic effects: the ADG and ADFI on growth performance, the muscle fiber numbers at weaning and finishing and the muscle fiber diameters at weaning(P < 0.05). The expression levels of IGF-II and Mstn in newborn piglets and IGF-II and Myf-5 in weaning piglets were also prevented by adding 1 % MHNTs(P < 0.05).Conclusions: The present study demonstrated that the offsprings of sows fed with ZEN-contaminated diets from 35 to 70 day of gestation exhibited weakening on growth performance, physiological changes in their muscle fibers and alterations of m RNA expression in their muscle tissues, and also indicated that MHNTs prevented most of the ZENinduced weakening in the muscle tissues.Rui Gao Qingwei Meng Jianan Li Min Liu Yuanyuan Zhang Chongpeng Bi Anshan Shan 2016Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2016,7,4:3
7Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG ameliorates DON-induced intestinal damage depending on the enrichment of beneficial bacteria in weaned piglets显示文摘Background: Deoxynivalenol(DON) is one of the most common environmental pollutants that induces intestinal inflammation and microbiota dysbiosis. Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG(LGG) is a probiotic that not only has anti-inflammatory effects, but also shows protective effect on the intestinal barrier. However, it is still unknown whether LGG exerts beneficial effects against DON-induced intestinal damage in piglets. In this work, a total of 36 weaned piglets were randomized to one of four treatment groups for 21 d. The treatment groups were CON(basal diet);LGG(basal diet supplemented with 1.77 × 10^(11)CFU/kg LGG);DON(DON-contaminated diet) and LGG + DON(DON-contaminated diet supplemented with 1.77 × 10^(11)CFU/kg LGG).Result: Supplementation of LGG can enhance growth performance of piglets exposed to DON by improving intestinal barrier function. LGG has a mitigating effect on intestinal inflammation induced by DON exposure, largely through repression of the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway. Furthermore, supplementation of LGG increased the relative abundances of beneficial bacteria(e.g., Collinsella, Lactobacillus, Ruminococcus_torques_group and Anaerofustis), and decreased the relative abundances of harmful bacteria(e.g., Parabacteroides and Ruminiclostridium_6), and also promoted the production of SCFAs.Conclusions: LGG ameliorates DON-induced intestinal damage, which may provide theoretical support for the application of LGG to alleviate the adverse effects induced by DON exposure.Yongsong Bai Kaidi Ma Jibo Li Zhongshuai Ren Jing Zhang Anshan Shan 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,6:2

Yet contact between China and Africa started as early as in theHan Dynasty (206 B. C.- A. D. 220). Du Huan of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) left a note about his visit to Africa in the 8th century. Porcelains fromTang to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) were found in Africa. Ibn Battutavisited China in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). There is a Chinese silkmap of Africa in the 14th century. Zheng He's junk visited Africa in theearly 15th century. This paper is intended to examine the archeologicalevidence, related documents and historiography in Chinese on earlyChina-Africa contact thus to probe the early bilateral relations. It willdivide into four parts, the study of the period of the pre-Tang Period,Tang Dynasty, Song (960-1279) and Yuan dynasties, and finally earlyMing Dynasty, respectively. 9Investigation on Precipitation Hardening High Strength IF Steel Sheet for Automotive Application显示文摘High strength IF steel sheets with sufficient formability had been extensively used in automotive industry.In this paper,a new type of high strength cold-rolled IF steel with higher carbon and niobium contents was studied.Thermal plastic and continuous annealing were performed on thermo-mechanical simulator.The transformation points were tested by thermal expansion apparatus.Optical microscopy and transmission election microscope (TEM) were used to analyze the microstructure and the secondary precipitates of the steel.The results showed,the ductibility temperature range was from 950℃ to 1250℃ and the transformation points were 887℃ and 913℃ respectively.The grain size of this steel was smaller than that of conventional high strength IF steel.At the mean time,there were many fine Nb(C,N) precipitates distributed in the intra-granular regions and the PFZ (precipitate free zone) were formed in the neighborhood of grain boundaries.Due to the unique micro-structural feature,the yield strength and the yield ratio of the steel were decreased while the tensile strength was increased.With the increasing of the annealing temperature,the strength decreased,the total elongation A50,r-value at 15% strain and n-value were all increased.In order to obtain the favorable mechanical properties,the skin-pass rolling rate should be chosen at 0.6-0.8%.WANG Xu,LIU Ren-dong,WANG Ke-qiang,GUO Jin-yu,LIN Li,XU Rong-jie (Automobile and Home Appliance Steel Institute of Ansteel Company Limited Technology Centre,Anshan 114009,Liaoning,China) 2011Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2011,18,S1:2

11Novel Concept of Cleansing the Liquid Steel by the Fine In-Situ Phase Due to the Composite Ball Explosion Reaction in RH Ladle显示文摘The production of high purity steel is a major task for the iron and steel enterprises in the 21st century. To improve the quality of steel products and produce the cleanness steel, the key technique is to control inclusions in the molten steel. In the present investigation, a novel fine inclusion removal technology due to the dispersed in-situ phase induced by the composite ball explosion reaction was put forward. A composite ball with this function has been designed and the industrial experimental investigation was also carried out. The results indicate that feeding composite ball in RH ladle is a novel technology and the inclusion in the molten steel can be removed effectively. Compared with conventional inclusion removal technology, the number of the oxide inclusion can be decreased to a lower level and the inclusion size becomes much finer. Using this novel technology, the total oxygen in the as-cast slab can approach to 6ppm and the steel production cost for per ton can be reduced by 5 -12 RMB. 13Optimal Heating in Heat-Treatment Process Based on Grey Asynchronous Particle Swarm Optimization显示文摘To ensure plate heating quality and reduce energy consumption in heat-treatment process, optimal heating for plates in a roller hearth furnace was investigated and a new strategy for heating procedure optimization was developed. During solving process, plate temperature forecast model based on heat transfer mechanics was established to calculate plate temperature with the assumed heating procedure. In addition, multi-objective feature of optimal heating was analyzed. And the method, which is composed of asynchronous particle swarm optimization and grey relational analysis, was adopted for solving the multi-objective problem. The developed strategy for optimizing heating has been applied to the mass production. 15Biological function of resveratrol and its application in animal production:a review显示文摘With the prohibition of antibiotics in feed,plant functional substances have been widely studied as feed additives.Resveratrol,a natural stilbene,and a non-flavonoid polyphenol found in plants,possesses antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,and metabolic regulatory features.Resveratrol generated intense scientific and public interest,primarily due to its widely reported ability to prevent cancer,delay aging and alleviate related metabolic diseases.Recently,resveratrol has been studied and applied as a feed additive in animal production.This review focuses on the outline of the absorption and metabolism and biological functions of resveratrol and summarizes the application of dietary resveratrol in animal production up to the present,including pigs,poultry,and ruminants.In pigs,dietary resveratrol improved intestinal health,mitochondrial function,meat quality,and more.In poultry,studies have shown that dietary resveratrol improves growth performance and meat and egg quality and alleviates heat stress induced adverse effects.There are few studies on dietary resveratrol in ruminants;however previous studies have indicated that dietary resveratrol increases nutrient digestibility and reduces methane emissions in sheep.It is hoped that this review could provide a specific theoretical basis and research ideas for the research and application of resveratrol.Qingwei Meng Jiawei Li Chunsheng Wang Anshan Shan 2023Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,3:1

18Exopolysaccharides of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG ameliorate Salmonella typhimurium-induced intestinal inflammation via the TLR4/NF-κB/MAPK pathway显示文摘Background Salmonella typhimurium(S.T),as an important foodborne bacterial pathogen,can cause diarrhea and gastroenteritis in humans and animals.Numerous studies have confirmed that exopolysaccharides(EPSs)have various biological functions,but the mechanism through which EPSs improve the immunity of animals against the invasion of pathogenic bacteria is unclear.Here,we explored the protective effect of EPSs of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG(LGG)on the S.T-infected intestine.Methods Mice received adequate food and drinking water for one week before the start of the experiment.After 7 d of prefeeding,2×108 CFU/mL S.T solution and an equivalent volume of saline(control group)were given orally for 1 d.On the fourth day,the mice were treated with 0.5 mg/mL EPSs,1.0 mg/mL EPSs,2.0 mg/mL EPSs,or 2.0 mg/mL penicillin for 7 d.Finally,the body and relative organ weight,histological staining,and the levels of antioxidant enzyme activity and inflammatory cytokines were determined.Results The S.T-infected mice exhibited symptoms of decreased appetite,somnolence,diarrhea and flagging spirit.Treatment with EPSs and penicillin improved the weight loss of the mice,and the high dose of EPSs showed the best therapeutic effect.EPSs significantly ameliorated S.T-induced ileal injury in mice.High-dose EPSs were more effective than penicillin for alleviating ileal oxidative damage induced by S.T.The mRNA levels of inflammatory cytokines in the ileum of mice showed that the regulatory effects of EPSs on inflammatory cytokines were better than those of penicillin.EPSs could inhibit the expression and activation of key proteins of the TLR4/NF-κB/MAPK pathway and thereby suppress the level of S.T-induced ileal inflammation.Conclusions EPSs attenuate S.T-induced immune responses by inhibiting the expression of key proteins in the TLR4/NF-κB/MAPK signaling pathway.Moreover,EPSs could promote bacterial aggregation into clusters,which may be a potential strategy for reducing the bacterial invasion of intestinal epithelial cells.Jinze Li Qiuke Li Qianhui Wu Nan Gao Zhihua Wang Yang Yang Anshan Shan 2023Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,4:0
