| 1 | Episodic crustal anatexis and the formation of Paiku composite leucogranitic pluton in the Malashan Gneiss Dome, Southern Tibet显示文摘The Paiku composite leucogranitic pluton in the Malashan gneiss dome within the Tethyan Himalaya consists of tourmaline leucogranite,two-mica granite and garnet-bearing leucogranite.Zircon U-Pb dating yields that(1)tourmaline leucogranite formed at28.2±0.5 Ma and its source rock experienced simultaneous metamorphism and anatexis at 33.6±0.6 Ma;(2)two-mica granite formed at 19.8±0.5 Ma;(3)both types of leucogranite contain inherited zircon grains with an age peak at^480 Ma.These leucogranites show distinct geochemistry in major and trace elements as well as in Sr-Nd-Hf isotope compositions.As compared to the two-mica granites,the tourmaline ones have higher initial Sr and zircon Hf isotope compositions,indicating that they were derived from different source rocks combined with different melting reactions.Combined with available literature data,it is suggested that anatexis at^35 Ma along the Himalayan orogenic belt might have triggered the initial movement of the Southern Tibetan Detachment System(STDS),and led to the tectonic transition from compressive shortening to extension.Such a tectonic transition could be a dominant factor that initiates large scale decompressional melting of fertile high-grade metapelites along the Himalayan orogenic belt.Crustal anatexis at^28 Ma and^20 Ma represent large-scale melting reactions associated with the movement of the STDS. | GAO LiE ZENG LingSen HOU KeJun GUO ChunLi TANG SuoHan XIE KeJia HU GuYue WANG Li | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28: | 23 |

| 3 | Local and long-range transport influences on PM_(2.5) at a cities-cluster in northern China,during summer 2008显示文摘Hourly PM2.5 concentrations were observed simultaneously at a cities-cluster comprising 10 cities/towns in Hebei province in China from July 1 to 31,2008. Among the 10 cities/towns, Baoding showed the highest average concentration level(161.57(jig/m3) and Yanjiao exhibited the lowest(99.35(jig/m3). These observed data were also studied using the joint potential source contribution function with 24-h and72-h backward trajectories, to identify more clearly the local and countrywide-scale long-range transport sources. For the local sources, three important influential areas were found, whereas five important influential areas were defined for long-range transport sources. Spatial characteristics of PM2.5 were determined by multivariate statistical analyses. Soil dust, coal combustion, and vehicle emissions might be the potential contributors in these areas. The results of a hierarchical cluster analysis for back trajectory endpoints and PM2.5 concentrations datasets show that the spatial characteristics of PM2.5 in the cities-cluster were influenced not only by local sources, but also by long-range transport sources. Different cities in the cities-cluster obtained different weighted contributions from local or long-range transport sources. | 4 | Evaluation system for CO_2 emission of hot asphalt mixture显示文摘The highway construction industry plays an important role in economic and development,but is also a primary source of carbon emission. Accordingly, with the global climate change, energy conservation and reduction of carbon emissions have become critical issues in the highway construction industry. However, to date, a model for the highway construction industry has not been established. Hence, to implement a low-carbon construction model for highways, this study divided asphalt pavement construction into aggregate stacking, aggregate supply, and other stages, and compiled a list of energy consumption investigation. An appropriate calculation model of CO_2 emission was then built. Based on the carbon emission calculation model, the proportion of carbon emissions in each stage was analyzed. The analytic hierarchy process was used to establish the system of asphalt pavement construction with a judgment matrix, thereby enabling calculation of the weight coefficient of each link. In addition, the stages of aggregate heating, asphalt heating, and asphalt mixture mixing were defined as key stages of asphalt pavement construction. Carbon emissions at these stages accounted for approximately 90% of the total carbon emissions. Carbon emissions at each stage and their impact on the environment were quantified and compared. The energy saving construction schemes as well as the environmental and socioeconomic benefits were then proposed. Through these schemes, significant reductions in carbon emissions and costs can be achieved. The results indicate that carbon emissions reduce by 32.30% and 35.93%, whereas costs reduce by 18.58% and 6.03%. | 5 | Process intensification and energy saving of reactive distillation for production of ester compounds显示文摘Reactive distillation(RD) process is an innovative hybrid process combining reaction with distillation, which has recently come into sharp focus as a successful case of process intensification. Considered as the most representative case of process intensification, it has been applied for many productions, especially for production of ester compounds. However, such problems existing in the RD system for ester productions are still hard to solve,as the removal of the water which comes from the esterification, and the separation of the azeotropes of ester–alcohol(–water). Many methods have been studying on the process to solve the problems resulting in further intensification and energy saving. In this paper, azeotropic–reactive distillation or entrainer enhanced reactive distillation(ERD) process, reactive extractive distillation(RED) process, the method of co-production in RD process, pressure-swing reactive distillation(PSRD) process, reactive distillation–pervaporation coupled process(RD–PV), are introduced to solve the problems above, so the product(s) can be separated efficiently and the chemical equilibrium can be shifted. | 9 | Activin A prevents neuron-like PC12 cell apoptosis after oxygen-glucose deprivation显示文摘In this study, PC12 cells were induced to differentiate into neuron-like cells using nerve growth facto and were subjected to oxygen-glucose deprivation. Cells were treated with 0, 10, 20, 30, 50, 100 ng/mL exogenous Activin A. The 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide assay and Hoechst 33324 staining showed that the survival percentage of PC12 cells significantly decreased and the rate of apoptosis significantly increased after oxygen-glucose deprivation. Exogenous Activin A significantly increased the survival percentage of PC12 cells in a dose-dependent manner. Reverse transcription-PCR results revealed a significant increase in Activin receptor IIA, Smad3 and Smad4 mRNA levels, which are key sites in the Activin A/Smads signaling pathway, in neuron-like cells subjected to oxygen-glucose deprivation, while mRNA expression of the apoptosis-regulation gene caspase-3 decreased. | 13 | Experimental and simulation of the reactive dividing wall column based on ethyl acetate synthesis显示文摘Reactive dividing wall column(RDWC) is a highly integrated unit which combines reaction distillation(RD) with dividing wall column separation technology into one shell, and it realized the chemical reaction and the separation of multiple product fractions simultaneously. In this paper, the reaction of esterification with acetic acid and ethanol to produce ethyl acetate was used as the research system, experiments and simulations of the RDWC were carried out. This system in the traditional process mostly used the homogeneous catalyst(e.g. sulfuric acid). However, in view of the corrosion of the equipment caused by the acidity of the catalyst, we used the heterogeneous catalysts – iron exchange resins – Amberlyst15 and proposed a novel catalyst loading method. Firstly,the reliability of the model of the simulation was verified by the experimental study on the change of liquid split ratio and reflux ratio. After that, the four-column model was established in Aspen Plus to analyze the effects of the amount of azeotropic agent, reflux ratio and acetic acid concentration. Finally, for a fair comparison, the economic analysis was conducted between traditional RD column and RDWC. | 14 | A review of internally heat integrated distillation column显示文摘The energy consumption of distillation operation determines the amount of energy consumption throughout the chemical separation process. A heat integrated distillation column(HIDiC) could greatly reduce the irreversibility of the distillation process, so it gradually becomes a research hotspot. There are two major techniques for heat integration in HIDiC: internally and externally. This review paper describes the major research aspects of an internally heat integrated distillation column(IHIDiC), including the heat transfer models, various design structures(including the two-column HIDiC, Concentric HIDiC, Shell and tube HIDiC, Plate-fin HIDiC and the Super HIDiC, etc.), experimental research, simulation and optimization, process control research, as well as industrial plants and potential industrial applications. Among them, the heat transfer performance of various structures was analyzed of the various design structures based on experimental research, the effects of different factors(including relative volatility, reflux ratio, compression ratio, etc.) on HIDiC energy consumption or TAC is summarized in the simulation part. The calculation methods of the overall heat transfer coefficient and heat transfer models are summarized. The various optimization algorithms and optimization results of simplified HIDiC are summarized in the optimization part. The research status and the key technical issues in various aspects of HIDiC are summarized in this paper. | 15 | Separation process of butanol-butyl acetate-methyl isobutyl ketone system by the analysis to residual curve and the double effect pressure-swing distillation显示文摘The separation of ternary mixture of butanol, butyl acetate, and methyl isobutyl ketone(MIBK) was initially analyzed by the residual curve. In this process, MIBK was chosen as the azeotropic agent during the first step of separation. The optimum mass ratio of extra MIBK was 1.6 in the modified feed stream according to the residual curve. Thus on this condition the top product was butanol-MIBK azeotrope while the bottom product was butyl acetate in the preliminary separation of the mixture. Then the butanol and MIBK azeotrope was separated by the double effect pressureswing distillation with the low pressure column performing at 30 kPa and the atmospheric pressure column at 101 kPa. The optimal operating conditions were then obtained by using Aspen Plus to simulate and optimize the process. The results showed that the mass purities of butanol, butyl acetate, and MIBK were all more than 99% and reached the design requirements. Based on the restriction on the optimal operating zone, the comparison of different combinations of surrogate models and optimization methods showed that, the combination of the Kriging model and multi-island genetic algorithm(Kriging-MIGA) had better prediction ability than the combination of the response surface model and partial derivative method(RSM-PD), and RSM-PD had better optimization effect than Kriging-MIGA. With a self-made cross-wall adiabatic dividing wall column, the temperature at measuring points and the energy consumption were measured during experiments, the comparison between measured values and simulated ones demonstrated that the optimized values of variables searched by RSM-PD and Kriging-MIGA could be both used as the optimum technological conditions since the experimental reliability was ensured, with the optimum technological conditions shown below: The feed position is 6, the side-draw position is 7, the combinations of liquid split ratio and vapor split ratio are [0.14, 0.5] and [0.16, 0.52], respectively. Bone loss with osteoporosis not only reduces bone mineral density(BMD), but actually alters bone quality, which can be comprehensively represented by bone post-yield behaviors. This study aimed to provide some information as to how osteoporosis induced by estrogen depletion could influence the evolution of post-yield microdamage accumulation and plastic deformation in vertebral bodies. This study also tried to reveal the part of the mechanisms of how estrogen deficiency-induced osteoporosis would increase the bone fracture risk. A rat bilateral ovariectomy(OVX)model was used to induce osteoporosis. Progressive cyclic compression loading was developed for vertebra testing to elucidate the post-yield behaviors. BMD, bone volume fraction, stiffness degradation, and plastic deformation evolution were compared among rats raised for 5 weeks(ovx5w and sham5 w groups) and 35 weeks(ovx35w and sham35 w groups) after sham surgery and OVX. The results showedthat a higher bone loss in vertebral bodies corresponded to lower stiffness and higher plastic deformation. Thus, osteoporosis could increase the vertebral fracture risk probably through microdamage accumulation and plastic deforming degradation. | Siwei Li Guodong Niu Neil X.
