1Report on Childhood Obesity in China (9): Sugar-sweetened Beverages Consumption and Obesity显示文摘Objective To explore the associations between sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption and obesity as well as obesity-related cardiometabolic disorders among children in China. Methods A total of 6974 (boys 3558, girls 3412) children aged 6-13 years participated in the study. Each participant's height, weight, waist circumference, fasting glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol, high- density lipoprotein cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol were measured. The type of beverage consumption was determined using a self-administered questionnaire. Results SSBs were consumed regularly by 46.1% of the children. The prevalence [adjusted odds ratio (95% confidence internal (CI)] of obesity was 7.6% [as the reference group (ref.)], 10.1% [1.36(1.07, 1.74)], and 11.6% [1.46(1.21, 1.75)], among children who regularly drank milk, other beverages and SSBs, respectively. Regularly drinking SSBs elevated the likelihood of abdominal obesity [adjusted odds ratio (95% CI): 1.36 (1.17, 1.59)]. The prevalence [adjusted odds ratio (95% CI)] of obesity among children who regularly drank sports/caloric beverages, carbonated beverages, sweet tea, and plant protein beverages was 16.8% [2.00(1.31, 3.07)], 12.7% [1.52(1.23, 1.88)], 11.5% [1.52(1.18, 1.95)], and 10.4% [1.41(1.03, 1.94)], respectively, which was higher than that of regular milk drinkers [7.6 % (ref.)]. The prevalence [adjusted odds ratio (95% CI)] of abdominal obesity among children who regularly drank sweet tea, fruit/vegetable juices, and carbonated beverages was 17.7% [1.55(1.26, 1.90)], 16.2% [1.36(1.09, 1.70)], and 15.3% [1.24(1.03, 1.50)], respectively, which was much higher than that of regular milk drinkers [12.8% (ref.)]. Conclusions Regular SSB consumption was positively related to obesity and abdominal obesity. 2Report on Childhood Obesity in China (10): Association of Sleep Duration with Obesity显示文摘Objectives To explore the association of sleep duration with obesity among children in urban areas of China.Methods A total of 6 576 children(3 293 boys and 3 283 girls) aged 7-11 years were randomly selected from 36 primary schools in 6 metropolitan cities in China.A 7-day Physical Activity Recall was used to assess the sleep duration and physical activity level.The height,weight,waist circumference(WC) and percentage of body fat(%BF,as determined by bioelectrical impedance analysis technique) were measured by following the standardized operation procedures.The information on demography,lifestyle and eating habits was collected with a self-administered questionnaire from participants and their parents.Results The average sleep duration per night in the children was 9.7 h with the decreasing trends along with the increase of age(P<0.05).The sleep duration was negatively associated with body mass index(BMI) and WC in both boys and girls after adjustment for confounders(β value-0.23 and-0.82 for boys,-0.24 and-0.91 for girls,respectively,P<0.01).However,no significant association of sleep duration with %BF was found.Children who slept less than 9.0 h per night had a higher risk for overweight and obesity(OR=1.29,95% CI:1.01,1.64) and abdominal obesity(OR=1.38,95% CI:1.04,1.83) as compared with those who slept for 10.0-10.9 h.Conclusions Short sleep duration is associated with obesity.It is important to ensure adequate sleep duration of children and foster their healthy lifestyle at an early stage of life.MENG Li Ping LIUAi Ling HU Xiao Qi ZHANG Qian DU Song Ming FANG Hong Yun MA Jun XU Gui Fa LI Ying GUO Hong Wei DU Lin MA Guan Sheng 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,2:16
3Atmospheric particulate pollution of Lanzhou using magnetic measurements显示文摘To differentiate between natural and anthropogenic particulate sources in the atmosphere in Lanzhou City, samples were collected in different sites. The dust flux was calculated and magnetic measurements were conducted. Results show a distinct pattern of variation of dust flux within a year and it agrees with the shifts of atmospheric circulation regime. The magnetic parameters indicate that natural sources are the major components of atmospheric particulate during late spring and early summer, while anthropogenic sources contribute much more during winter months. 4How Work Organization Affects the Prevalence of WMSDs: A Case-control Study显示文摘Objective In this study, we aimed at exploring the association between work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSDs) and work organization based on a case-control study. Methods A total of 1938 workers who claimed to suffer from WMSDs were selected from Beijing, Henan, Hubei, and the Guangdong province. The control group consisted of 2009 workers employed in similar industries without severe disease or musculoskeletal discomforts. We used a modified version of the questionnaire developed by the NMQ and the DMQ to investigate individual and work-related factors. Results A total of 13 variables(P<0.1) were selected by the chi-square test and finally, 7 variables entered into the equation, with 6 variables reaching statistical significance(P<0.05). The odds ratios(OR) of ‘work changing with season' and ‘sufficient rest time' did not reach 1(0.749 and 0.441, respectively). In addition, ‘sufficient rest time' seemed to be the stronger protective factor according to its higher standardized coefficient. And ‘repetitive work every minute', ‘constantly repetitive work'(every day), ‘shortage of site personnel', and ‘often switching shifts with others' seemed to be the risk factors. Conclusion Work organization may have comprehensive effects on the occurrence of WMSDs. 7Co-effect of Demand-control-support Model and Effort-reward Imbalance Model on Depression Risk Estimation in Humans: Findings from Henan Province of China显示文摘Objective To investigate the co-effect of Demand-control-support(DCS) model and Effort-reward Imbalance(ERI) model on the risk estimation of depression in humans in comparison with the effects when they are used respectively. Methods A total of 3 632 males and 1 706 females from 13 factories and companies in Henan province were recruited in this cross-sectional study. Perceived job stress was evaluated with the Job Content Questionnaire and Effort-Reward Imbalance Questionnaire(Chinese version). Depressive symptoms were assessed by using the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale(CES-D). Results DC(demands/job control ratio) and ERI were shown to be independently associated with depressive symptoms. The outcome of low social support and overcommitment were similar. High DC and low social support(SS), high ERI and high overcommitment, and high DC and high ERI posed greater risks of depressive symptoms than each of them did alone.ERI model and SS model seem to be effective in estimating the risk of depressive symptoms if they are used respectively. Conclusion The DC had better performance when it was used in combination with low SS. The effect on physical demands was better than on psychological demands. 9Alterations to biological soil crusts with alpine meadow retrogressive succession affect seeds germination of three plant species显示文摘Biological soil crusts(BSCs) are the important components of alpine meadow ecosystems.The extent and morphology of BSCs vary greatly with alpine meadow retrogressive succession due to grazing pressure.There is significant interest in impacts of crust composition on plant seed germination,especial l y in(semi-) arid environments.However,little is known about the influences of BSCs,and their associations with alpine meadow succession,on germination of typical alpine meadow vascular plant species.In a full factorial common-gardenexperiment,we studied effects of:(1) crust type,(2) seed position,and(3) surface texture on seed germination.We chose three typical alpine meadow plant species(i.e.Poa pratensis,Tibetia himalaica and Potentillen nivea),which belonged to different functional groups(graminoids,legumes,and forbs) and play important roles in all alpine meadow succession stages.Crust type and seed position influenced seed germination,and the inhibitory effects of BSCs depended on the crust type and seed species tested.The major factors influencing seed germination were BSC type,seed position,soil texture,and the interactions between BSC type and seed position; species and seed position; species andsurface texture; and species,crust type,and surface texture.Cyanobacteria crust significantly inhibited germination of all seeds.Seed position also had a significant effect on seed germination(p < 0.001).Fewer seedlings germinated on the surface than below the surface,this was especially true for P.nivea.seeds within cyanobacteria and lichen crusts.Only germination rates of T.himalaica on the soil surface were significantly correlated with plant occurrence frequency within the alpine meadow community.The poor correlation for the other two species is possibly that they are perennials.Our results clearly demonstrated that BSCs can be biological filters during seed germination,depending on the BSC succession stage.Through their influences on seed germination,BSCs can strongly influence community assemblages throughout alpine meadow retrogressive succession.LI Yi-kang OUYANG Jing-zheng LIN Li XU Xing-liang ZHANG Fa-wei DU Yan-gong LIU Shu-li CAO Guang-min HAN Fa 2016Journal of Mountain Science2016,13,11:7
10Risk Factors of Low Back Pain among the Chinese Occupational Population:A Case-control Study显示文摘Objective To explore the risk factors of low back pain among the Chinese occupational population in several major industries.Methods A total of 7200 subjects(3600 cases and 3600 controls) were randomly sampled from a cross-sectional study,and they were investigated for individual and occupational factors of low back pain.The potential risk factors were first selected by using chi-square tests.Secondly,collinearity diagnosis proceeded by using the Kendall's rank correlation.Finally,binary logistic regression model was used for multi-factor analysis.Results Collinearity diagnosis showed that there was a severe collinearity problem among the potential risk factors of low back pain.Logistic regression model included 20 variables with statistical significance.Bending neck forward or holding neck in a forward posture for long periods(OR=1.408) was the most important risk factor inducing low back pain in this study,followed by bending heavily with the trunk(OR=1.402),carrying out identical work almost for the whole day(OR=1.340).Additionally,sufficient normal break was a protective factor of low back pain.Conclusion Low back pain among the Chinese occupational population was associated with body height,occupation,work organization,physical work,working posture,and others.All these risk factors could be regarded as the indicators of low back pain,and some relevant preventive measures should be taken to reduce low back pain risk.LI Jing Yun WANG Sheng HE Li Hua WU Shan Shan YANG Lei YU Shan Fa LI Li Ping WANG Jian Xin HUANG Yan Di 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,4:7
11Comparative genomic and transcriptomic analyses uncover the molecular basis of high nitrogen-use efficiency in the wheat cultivar Kenong 9204显示文摘Studying the regulatory mechanisms that drive nitrogen-use efficiency(NUE)in crops is important for sustainable agriculture and environmental protection.In this study,we generated a high-quality genome assembly for the high-NUE wheat cultivar Kenong 9204 and systematically analyzed genes related to nitrogen uptake and metabolism.By comparative analyses,we found that the high-affinity nitrate transporter gene family had expanded in Triticeae.Further studies showed that subsequent functional differentiation endowed the expanded family members with saline inducibility,providing a genetic basis for improving the adaptability of wheat to nitrogen deficiency in various habitats.To explore the genetic and molecular mechanisms of high NUE,we compared genomic and transcriptomic data from the high-NUE cultivar Kenong 9204(KN9204)and the low-NUE cultivar Jing 411 and quantified their nitrogen accumulation under high-and low-nitrogen conditions.Compared with Jing 411,KN9204 absorbed significantly more nitrogen at the reproductive stage after shooting and accumulated it in the shoots and seeds.Transcriptome data analysis revealed that nitrogen deficiency clearly suppressed the expression of genes related to cell division in the young spike of Jing 411,whereas this suppression of gene expression was much lower in KN9204.In addition,KN9204 maintained relatively high expression of NPF genes for a longer time than Jing 411 during seed maturity.Physiological and transcriptome data revealed that KN9204 was more tolerant of nitrogen deficiency than Jing 411,especially at the reproductive stage.The high NUE of KN9204 is an integrated effect controlled at different levels.Taken together,our data provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of NUE and important gene resources for improving wheat cultivars with a higher NUE trait.Xiaoli Shi Fa Cui Xinyin Han Yilin He Long Zhao Na Zhang Hao Zhang Haidong Zhu Zhexin Liu Bin Ma Shusong Zheng Wei Zhang Jiajia Liu Xiaoli Fan Yaoqi Si Shuiquan Tian Jianqing Niu Huilan Wu Xuemei Liu Zhuo Chen Deyuan Meng Xiaoyan Wang Liqiang Song Lijing Sun Jie Han Hui Zhao Jun Ji Zhiguo Wang Xiaoyu He Ruilin Li Xuebin Chi Chengzhi Liang Beifang Niu Jun Xiao Junming Li Hong-Qing Ling 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,9:6

13Diagenesis and Diagenetic Evolution of Deltaic and Neritic Gas-Bearing Sandstones in the Lower Mingyuefeng Formation of Paleogene, Lishui Sag, East China Sea Shelf Basin: Implications for Depositional Environments and Sequence Stratigraphy Controls显示文摘Gas-bearing deposits in the Lower Mingyuefeng Formation of Paleogene, Lishui Sag, East China Sea Shelf Basin consist of shoreface sandstones of the highstand systems tract(HST) and transgressive systems tract(TST), and deltaic sandstones of the lowstand systems tract(LST) and falling stage systems tract(FSST).Detailed petrographic observations suggest that the diagenetic features and related evolution of these deposits cannot be simply characterized and demonstrated in the depth domain.However, the occurrence of diagenetic minerals systematically depends on the studied interval within the HST, TST, LST, and FSST; therefore, diagenesis in this region can be better constrained when studied in the context of the depositional environments and sequence stratigraphic framework.The eogenetic processes in such settings include:(1) microcrystalline siderite precipitated as concretions in almost all environments and systems tracts, which inhibited further mechanical compaction;(2) grain dissolution and kaolinitization occurred in shoreface HST sandstones and deltaic LST and FSST sandstones;(3) glaucony was locally observed, which did not clearly reflect the controls of facies or sequence stratigraphy; and(4) cementation by pyrite aggregates occurred in the shoreface HST sandstones and deltaic LST sandstones.The mesogenetic diagenesis includes:(1) partial conversion of kaolinite into dickite in deltaic LST sandstones, and minor chlorite cementation in deltaic FSST sandstones;(2) transformation of kaolinite into illite and quartz cementation in deltaic LST and FSST sandstones;(3) frequent precipitation of ankerite and ferroan calcite in shoreface TST sandstones and early HST sandstones, forming baffles and barriers for fluid flow, with common calcite in shoreface HST sandstones as a late diagenetic cement; and(4) formation of dawsonite in the deltaic LST and FSST sandstones, which is interpreted to be a product of the invasion of a CO2-rich fluid, and acts as a good indicator of CO2-bearing reservoirs.This study has thus constructed a reliable conceptual model to describe the spatial and temporal distribution of diagenetic alterations.The results may provide an entirely new conceptual framework and methodology for successful gas exploration in the continental margins of offshore China, thus allowing us to predict and unravel the distribution and quality evolution of clastic reservoirs at a more detailed and reliable scale.XU Fa ZHANG Penghui ZHANG Jinliang LIU Jinshui HOU Guowei ZHANG Ming LI Jingzhe LIU Shasha GUO Jiaqi MENG Ningning 2015Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2015,89,5:5

16Geochemistry of the Paleocene Clastic Rocks in Lishui Sag, East China Sea Shelf Basin: Implications for Tectonic Background and Provenance显示文摘The Lishui Sag,in the East China Sea Shelf Basin,is rich in hydrocarbons,with the major hydrocarbon-bearing layers being the Paleocene Mingyuefeng clastic rocks.Analysis of the implicit geologic background information of these Paleocene clastic rocks using petrological and geochemical methods has significant practical importance.These Paleocene sandstones are mainly lithic arenite,lithic arkose and greywacke,composed of K-feldspar,plagioclase,authigenic clays,silica and carbonates.As continental deposits,Yueguifeng clastic rocks have high aluminosilicate and mafic detritus contents,while the Lingfeng and Mingyuefeng Formations are rich in silica due to an oscillating coastal marine depositional environment The major element contents of these Paleocene sandstones are low and have a concentrated distribution,indicating that the geochemical composition is non-epigenetic,transformed by sedimentary processes and diagenesis.The Yueguifeng detritus comprises recycled sediments,controlled by moderate weathering and erosion,while the Lingfeng and Mingyuefeng detritus is interpreted as primarily first-cycle materials due to low chemical weathering.In the Late Cretaceous to Early Paleocene,the Pacific Plate began subducting under the Eurasian Plate,causing an orogeny by plate collision and magma eruption due to the melting of subducted oceanic crust.This resulted in the dual tectonic settings of'active margin'and'continental island arc'in the East China Sea Shelf Basin.During the Late Paleocene,the Pacific Plate margin migrated eastward along with development of the Philippine Ocean Plate,and the tectonic setting of the Lishui Sag gradually turned into a passive continental margin.Detrital sources included both orogenic continental blocks and continental island arcs,and the parent rocks are primarily felsic volcanic rocks and granites.LI Deyong JIANG Xiaodian XU Fa LIU Jinshui HOU Guowei 2016Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2016,90,1:4
17Therapy and Prevention of Postoperative Urosepsis of Ureter Endoscopic Lithotripsy for 'Non-infection'显示文摘Objective To analyze the risk factors causing postoperative urosepsis in ureter endoscopic lithotripsy without infection preoperatively,in order to make a more effective and safer preventive and therapeutic strategy.Methods From January 2010 to January 2015,5 ureteral calculus patients undergoing ureter endoscopic lithotripsy with holmium laser were retrospectively enrolled in this clinical study.These patients suffered urosepsis postoperatively confirmed by the clinical presentations and laboratory results,while they had no infection in their blood and urine preoperatively.Without delay,5 patients were treated by anti-inflammation and anti-shock.Results The vasopressor drug was stopped gradually after 12-36 hours.The body temperature was recovered to normal in 2 or 3 days,and the blood and urine test results were not abnormal in 7 days.At last,5patients were all cured.Conclusions Stone and operation themselves are potential factors to cause urosepsis after ureter endoscopic lithotripsy.Especially for patients who had not presented infection preoperatively,careful preparation preoperatively,corrective manipulation,low pressure irrigation,drainage and controlling time during operation,and early diagnosis,appropriate treatment postoperatively are the key to cure and prevent urosepsis.Jun Shen Fa Sun Fang-min Chen Zhi-ping Wu Sheng-wen Li 2016Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2016,31,1:4

19Clinical practice guideline for transurethral plasmakinetic resection of prostate for benign prostatic hyperplasia(2021 Edition)显示文摘Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is highly prevalent among older men, impacting on their quality of life, sexual function, and genitourinary health, and has become an important global burden of disease. Transurethral plasmakinetic resection of prostate (TUPKP) is one of the foremost surgical procedures for the treatment of BPH. It has become well established in clinical practice with good efficacy and safety. In 2018, we issued the guideline “2018 Standard Edition”. However much new direct evidence has now emerged and this may change some of previous recommendations. The time is ripe to develop new evidence-based guidelines, so we formed a working group of clinical experts and methodologists. The steering group members posed 31 questions relevant to the management of TUPKP for BPH covering the following areas: questions relevant to the perioperative period (preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative) of TUPKP in the treatment of BPH, postoperative complications and the level of surgeons’ surgical skill. We searched the literature for direct evidence on the management of TUPKP for BPH, and assessed its certainty generated recommendations using the grade criteria by the European Association of Urology. Recommendations were either strong or weak, or in the form of an ungraded consensus-based statement. Finally, we issued 36 statements. Among them, 23 carried strong recommendations, and 13 carried weak recommendations for the stated procedure. They covered questions relevant to the aforementioned three areas. The preoperative period for TUPKP in the treatment of BPH included indications and contraindications for TUPKP, precautions for preoperative preparation in patients with renal impairment and urinary tract infection due to urinary retention, and preoperative prophylactic use of antibiotics. Questions relevant to the intraoperative period incorporated surgical operation techniques and prevention and management of bladder explosion. The application to different populations incorporating the efficacy and safety of TUPKP in the treatment of normal volume (< 80 ml) and large-volume (≥ 80 ml) BPH compared with transurethral urethral resection prostate, transurethral plasmakinetic enucleation of prostate and open prostatectomy;the efficacy and safety of TUPKP in high-risk populations and among people taking anticoagulant (antithrombotic) drugs. Questions relevant to the postoperative period incorporated the time and speed of flushing, the time indwelling catheters are needed, principles of postoperative therapeutic use of antibiotics, follow-up time and follow-up content. Questions related to complications incorporated types of complications and their incidence, postoperative leukocyturia, the treatment measures for the perforation and extravasation of the capsule, transurethral resection syndrome, postoperative bleeding, urinary catheter blockage, bladder spasm, overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, urethral stricture, rectal injury during surgery, postoperative erectile dysfunction and retrograde ejaculation. Final questions were related to surgeons’ skills when performing TUPKP for the treatment of BPH.
