1Angular response of ‘pin-hole' imaging structure measured by collimated β source显示文摘The pitch-angle distribution of energetic particles is important for space physics studies on magnetic storm and particle acceleration.A‘pin-hole’imaging structure is built with the‘pin-hole’technique and a position sensitive detector,which can be used to measure the pitch angle distribution of energetic particles.To calibrate the angular response of the‘pin-hole’imaging structure,special experiment facilities are needed,such as the particle accelerator with special design.The features of this kind of particle accelerator are:1)The energy range of the outgoing particles should be mid-energy particles(tens keV to several hundred keV);2)the particle flux should be consistent in time-scale;3)the directions of the outgoing particles should be the same and 4)the particle number within the spot should be low enough.In this paper,a method to calibrate the angular response of the‘pin-hole’imaging structure by the90Sr/90Y β source with a collimator is introduced and simulated by Geant4 software.The result of the calibration with the collimated β source is in accord with the Geant4 simulations,which verifies the validity of this method.ZOU Hong LUO Lin LI ChenFang JIA XiangHong XU Feng CHEN HongFei CHEN Jiang SHI WeiHong YU XiangQian ZOU JiQing 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,11:10
2Influence of plastic film mulching and planting density on yield,leaf anatomy,and root characteristics of maize on the Loess Plateau显示文摘In rainfed areas of northwestern China,maize production is constrained mainly by low temperature during early growth and water limitation during the entire growth period.Plastic film mulching is commonly used to increase maize yield in this area,because it increases topsoil temperature and moisture content as well as water use efficiency.However,the physiological and anatomical bases of maize yield improvement with plastic film mulching are not well understood.The effects of plastic film mulching and planting density on maize yield,photosynthetic characteristics,respiration,leaf anatomy,and root growth were studied in a two-year field experiment conducted on the Loess Plateau of China in 2017 and 2018.The experiment used a split-split plot design with two mulching treatments(plastic film mulching and no mulching),two planting densities(7.5×104 and10.5×104 plants ha-1),and two maize cultivars,Zhengdan 958 and Xianyu 335.Compared with no mulching,plastic film mulching increased maize yields by 31.1%–46.4%in 2017 and3.6%–34.7%in 2018.Compared with low planting density,high planting density significantly increased and slightly reduced yields of both cultivars in the dry year 2017 and the rainy year 2018,respectively.Plastic film mulching increased photosynthesis and respiration as well as leaf stomatal density and aperture.Photosynthetic rate,dark respiration,and stomatal conductance and aperture were lower at high planting than at low planting density.Maize yield was positively correlated with photosynthesis,dark respiration,and stomatal aperture.Mulching increased root dry weight and length in the 0–20 cm soil layer and root activity at maturity.Overall,the changes in root growth and leaf anatomy resulted in increased photosynthesis and dark respiration,and the increased photosynthesis contributed to the increase in grain yield and biomass production under plastic film mulching conditions.Our results increase understanding of the physiological mechanisms by which plastic film mulching increases maize yield in water-and temperature-limited areas.Li Niu Yanyan Yan Peng Hou Wenbo Bai Rulang Zhao Yonghong Wang Shaokun Li Taisheng Du Ming Zhao Jiqing Song Wenbin Zhou 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,4:6

4H7N9 virus infection triggers lethal cytokine storm by activating gasdermin E-mediated pyroptosis of lung alveolar epithelial cells显示文摘The H7N9 influenza virus emerged in China in 2013,causing more than 1560 human infections,39% of which were fatal.A ‘cytokine storm’ in the lungs of H7N9 patients has been linked to a poor prognosis and death;however,the underlying mechanism that triggers the cytokine storm is unknown.Here,we found that efficient replication of the H7N9 virus in mouse lungs activates gasdermin E(GSDME)-mediated pyroptosis in alveolar epithelial cells,and that the released cytosolic contents then trigger a cytokine storm.Knockout of Gsdme switched the manner of death of A549 and human primary alveolar epithelial cells from pyroptosis to apoptosis upon H7N9 virus infection,and Gsdme knockout mice survived H7N9 virus lethal infection.Our findings reveal that GSDME activation is a key and unique mechanism for the pulmonary cytokine storm and lethal outcome of H7N9 virus infection and thus opens a new door for the development of antivirals against the H7N9 virus.Xiaopeng Wan Jiqing Li Yupeng Wang Xiaofei Yu Xijun He Jianzhong Shi Guohua Deng Xianying Zeng Guobin Tian Yanbing Li Yongping Jiang Yuntao Guan Chengjun Li Feng Shao Hualan Chen 2022National Science Review2022,9,1:3

7Sulforaphane attenuates dextran sodium sulphate induced intestinal inflammation via IL-10/STAT3 signaling mediated macrophage phenotype switching显示文摘Innate immunity,particularly macrophages,is critical for intestinal homeostasis.Sulforaphane,a dietary isothiocyanate from cruciferous vegetables,has been reported to protect against intestinal inflammation.However,the role of macrophages in sulforaphane mediated intestinal inflammation and the underlying molecular mechanisms have not been studied yet.In this study,sulforaphane effectively attenuated dextran sodium sulphate(DSS)induced intestinal inflammation in murine model.Of note,sulforaphane skewed the switching from classically(M1)to alternatively(M2)activated phenotype both in intestinal and bone marrow-derived macrophages(BMDMs).The expression levels of M1 associated maker genes induced by DSS or lipopolysaccharide(LPS)plus interferon gamma-γ(IFN-γ)were suppressed by sulforaphane while M2 marker gene expression levels were improved.This resulted in alteration of inflammatory mediators,particularly interleukin-10(IL-10),both in colon tissues and culture medium of BMDMs.Subsequently,IL-10 was found to mediate the sulforaphane induced M2 phenotype switching of BMDMs through the activation of STAT3 signaling.This was confirmed by immunofluorescence analysis with increased number of p-STAT3-positive cells in the colon sections.Moreover,anti-IL-10 neutralizing antibody significantly interfered M2 phenotyping of BMDMs induced by sulforaphane with reduced STAT3 phosphorylation.Findings here introduced a potential utilization of sulforaphane for intestinal inflammation treatment with macrophages as the therapeutic targets.Yuyang Sun Jiqing Tang Cui Li Jun Liu Haijie Liu 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,1:2

9Gene mapping of a new coat mutation in mouse显示文摘Gene mapping of a mouse coat mutation has been investigated. First, 100 10-bp random primers were used to amplify DNA, but the mutation could not be located by this method because there were no correlation between the amplified products and coat phenotypes. Second, by using ldh1 , Car2, Mup1 , Pgb1 , Hbb, Es1O, Es1, Mod1, Gdc1 , Ce2, Es3 as genetic markers, linkage test crosses (two-point test) consisting of intercrossing uncovered BALB/c mice (homozygotes) to CBA/N and C57BL/6 mice with normal hair and backcrossing the heterozygotes of the F1 to the uncovered BALB/c mice were made. It was soon evident that the mutation was linked to Es3 on chromosome 11. Furthermore, three-point test was made by using Es3 and D11 Mit8 (a microsatellite DNA) as genetic markers. The result showed that the mutation was linked to Es3 with the percentage recombination of (7.89 ± 2.19) %, and linked to D11Mit8 with the percentage recombination of (26.30 ± 3.57)%. 11Variations of the relativistic electron flux after a magnetospheric compression event显示文摘On January 21, 2015, a sharp increase of the solar wind dynamic pressure impacted the magnetosphere. The magnetopause moved inward to the region L< 8 without causing a geomagnetic storm. The flux of the relativistic electrons in the outer radiation belt decreased by half during this event based on the observations of the particle radiation monitor(PRM) of the fourth of the China-Brazil Earth Resource Satellites(CBERS-4). The flux remained low for approximately 11 d; it did not recover after a small magnetic storm on January 26 but after a small magnetic storm on February 2. The loss and recovery of the relativistic electrons during this event are investigated using the PRM data, medium-and high-energy electron observations of NOAA-15 and the Van Allen Probes, medium-energy electron observations of GOES-13, and wave observations of the Van Allen Probes. This study shows that the loss of energetic electrons in this event is related to magnetospheric compression. The chorus waves accelerate the medium-energy electrons, which causes the recovery of relativistic electrons. The Van Allen Probes detected strong chorus waves in the region L =3–6 from January 21 to February 2. However, the flux of medium-energy electrons was low in the region. This implies that the long-lasting lack of recovery of the relativistic electrons after this event is due to the lack of the medium-energy'seed' electrons. 13Low-loading gold in situ doped with sulfur by biomolecule-assisted approach for promoted electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction显示文摘For electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction(CO_(2)RR),CO_(2)-to-CO conversion is considered an ideal route towards carbon neutrality for practical applications.Gold(Au)is known as a promising catalyst with high selectivity for CO;however,it suffers from high cost and low mass-specific activity.In this study,we design and prepare a catalyst featuring uniform S-doped Au nanoparticles on N-doped carbon support(denoted as S-Au/NC)by an in situ synthesis strategy using biomolecules.The S-Au/NC displays high activity and selectivity for CO in CO_(2)RR with a Au loading as low as 0.4 wt.%.The Faradaic efficiency of CO(FECO)for S-Au/NC is above 95%at−0.75 V(vs.RHE);by contrast,the FECO of Au/NC(without S)is only 58%.The Tafel slope is 77.4 mV·dec−1,revealing a favorable kinetics process.Furthermore,S-Au/NC exhibits an excellent long-term stability for CO_(2)RR.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the S dopant can boost the activity by reducing the free energy change of the potential-limiting step(formation of the*COOH intermediate).This work not only demonstrates a model catalyst featuring significantly reduced use of noble metals,but also establishes an in situ synthesis strategy for preparing high-performance catalysts.Meijie Tan Xiaoqian Han Sen Ru Chao Zhang Zhouru Ji Zhaolin Shi Guomeng Qiao Yunying Wang Ruixue Cui Qiquan Luo Jiqing Jiao Yaguang Li Tongbu Lu 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:1

16Theory,technology and practice of shale gas three-dimensional development:A case study of Fuling shale gas field in Sichuan Basin,SW China显示文摘In the Jiaoshiba block of the Fuling shale gas field,the employed reserves and recovery factor by primary well pattern are low,no obvious barrier is found in the development layer series,and layered development is difficult.Based on the understanding of the main factors controlling shale gas enrichment and high production,the theory and technology of shale gas three-dimensional development,such as fine description and modeling of shale gas reservoir,optimization of three-dimensional development strategy,highly efficient drilling with dense well pattern,precision fracturing and real-time control,are discussed.Three-dimensional development refers to the application of optimal and fast drilling and volume fracturing technologies,depending upon the sedimentary characteristics,reservoir characteristics and sweet spot distribution of shale gas,to form'artificial gas reservoir'in a multidimensional space,so as to maximize the employed reserves,recovery factor and yield rate of shale gas development.In the research on shale gas three-dimensional development,the geological+engineering sweet spot description is fundamental,the collaborative optimization of natural fractures and artificial fractures is critical,and the improvement of speed and efficiency in drilling and fracturing engineering is the guarantee.Through the implementation of three-dimensional development,the overall recovery factor in the Jiaoshiba block has increased from 12.6%to 23.3%,providing an important support for the continuous and stable production of the Fuling shale gas field.SUN Huanquan CAI Xunyu HU Degao LU Zhiyong ZHAO Peirong ZHENG Aiwei LI Jiqing WANG Haitao 2023Petroleum Exploration and Development2023,50,3:1
17Self-Navigated 3D Acoustic Tweezers in Complex Media Based on Time Reversal显示文摘Acoustic tweezers have great application prospects because they allow noncontact and noninvasive manipulation of microparticles in a wide range of media.However,the nontransparency and heterogeneity of media in practical applications complicate particle trapping and manipulation.In this study,we designed a 1.04 MHz 256-element 2D matrix array for 3D acoustic tweezers to guide and monitor the entire process using real-time 3D ultrasonic images,thereby enabling acoustic manipulation in nontransparent media.Furthermore,we successfully performed dynamic 3D manipulations on multiple microparticles using multifoci and vortex traps.We achieved 3D particle manipulation in heterogeneous media(through resin baffle and ex vivo macaque and human skulls)by introducing a method based on the time reversal principle to correct the phase and amplitude distortions of the acoustic waves.Our results suggest cutting-edge applications of acoustic tweezers such as acoustical drug delivery,controlled micromachine transfer,and precise treatment.Ye Yang Teng Ma Sinan Li Qi Zhang Jiqing Huang Yifei Liu Jianwei Zhuang Yongchuan Li Xuemin Du Lili Niu Yang Xiao Congzhi Wang Feiyan Cai Hairong Zheng 2021Research2021,,1:1
