1Heavy metals in rice and garden vegetables and their potential health risks to inhabitants in the vicinity of an industrial zone in Jiangsu, China显示文摘Contamination of soil and agricultural products by heavy metals resulting from rapid industrial development has caused major concern. In this study, we investigated heavy metal (Cu, Zn, Pb, Cr, Hg and Cd) concentrations in rice and garden vegetables, as well as in cultivated soils, in a rural-industrial developed region in southern Jiangsu, China, and estimated the potential health risks of metals to the inhabitants via consumption of locally produced rice and garden vegetables. A questionnaire-based survey on dietary consumption rates of foodstuffs showed that rice and vegetables accounted for 64% of total foodstuffs consumed, and over 60% of rice and vegetables were grown in the local region. Average concentrations of Cr, Cu, Zn, Cd, Hg and Pb were 0.75, 2.64, 12.00, 0.014, 0.006 and 0.054 mg/kg dw (dry weight) in rice and were 0.67, 1.18, 4.34, 0.011, 0.002 and 0.058 mg/kg fw (fresh weight) in garden vegetables, respectively. These values were all below the maximum allowable concentration in food in China except for Cr in vegetables. Leafy vegetables had higher metal concentrations than solanaceae vegetables. Average daily intake of Cr, Cu, Zn, Cd, Hg and Pb through the consumption of rice and garden vegetables were 5.66, 16.90, 74.21, 0.10, 0.04 and 0.43 μg/(kg·day), respectively. Although Hazard Quotient values of individual metals were all lower than 1, when all six metal intakes via self-planted rice and garden vegetables were combined, the Hazard Index value was close to 1. 2Tiny YOLO Optimization Oriented Bus Passenger Object Detection显示文摘The real-time collection of bus passenger object detection is an essential part of developing a smart bus system.The difficulty of object detection mainly lies in the objective factors,such as:clothing,hair style and accessories,light,etc.Traditional object detection met hods with the arti ficial feature ext rac tion suffers from insufficien t st reng th in expression,generalization,and recogni tion rate.The objec t detection met hod based on deep learning mainly uses the convol utio nal neural net work in deep learning to learn features from a large set of data.The learned features can describe the rich infbrmation inherent in the data,and improve the expression ability of the features as well as the recognition accuracy.Due to too many parameters of the Convolutional neural network(CNN)model,the amount of calculation is too large to be opera ted on the vehicle terminal.To reduce calculation burden and improve the operation speed,we employs the depthwise separable convolution method to optimize the convolutional layer of tiny YOLO net work model.It decomposes a complete convolution operation into depthwise convolution and pointwise convolution,thus reducing the parameter amount of the CNN and improving the operation speed.The experiment results reveal that the speed of bus passenger object detection detected by our improved model is 4 times faster than the previous one but with the nearly same detection accuracy.ZHANG Shuo WU Yanxia MEN Chaoguang LI Xiaosong 2020Chinese Journal of Electronics2020,29,1:15
3Relationship between heavy metals and dissolved organic matter released from sediment by bioturbation/bioirrigation显示文摘Organic matter(OM) is an important component of sediment. Bioturbation/bioirrigation can remobilize OM and heavy metals that were previously buried in the sediment. The remobilization of buried organic matter, thallium(Tl), cadmium(Cd), copper(Cu) and zinc(Zn) from sediment was studied in a laboratory experiment with three organisms: tubificid,chironomid larvae and loach. Results showed that bioturbation/bioirrigation promoted the release of dissolved organic matter(DOM) and dissolved Tl, Cd, Cu and Zn, but only dissolved Zn concentrations decreased with exposure time in overlying water. The presence of organisms altered the compositions of DOM released from sediment,considerably increasing the percentage of fulvic acid-like materials(FA) and humic acidlike materials(HA). In addition, bioturbation/bioirrigation accelerated the growth and reproduction of bacteria to enhance the proportion of soluble microbial byproduct-like materials(SMP). The DOM was divided into five regions in the three-dimensional excitation emission matrix(3 D-EEM), and each part had different correlation with the dissolved heavy metal concentrations. 6Geochemical characteristics of soil selenium and evaluation of Serich land resources in the central area of Guiyang City,China显示文摘Based on the results of multipurpose regional geochemical surveys of the Guizhou Province, geochemical characteristics of soil Se and Se-rich land resources in the central area of Guiyang City were studied and evaluated.Major conclusions are as follows:(1) the Se content in surface soil of the central area of Guiyang City was 0.17–2.89 mg kg^(-1), and the average was 0.78 mg kg^(-1), which were respectively 2.6 and 3.9 times of the national background value of soil and the world background value of soil.The Se content in deep soil was 0.11–1.48 mg kg^(-1), and the average was 0.44 mg kg^(-1), which were respectively 1.5 and2.2 times of the national background value of soil and the world background value of soil. The soil Se content decreased with the increase in the soil depth on the vertical profile, and the surface soil had a higher Se content.(2)Distribution of Se content was mainly affected by parent material, physicochemical properties of soil and other components, soil type, and land use type. Parent material played a key role, as the soil Se content was mainly originated from parent rock and increased with the background value of Se in parent rock, physicochemical properties of soil and other components had certain influences upon the Se content. Se was shown to have a significant linear positive correlation with S and organic carbon but no significant correlation with p H value. Se content varied with different types of soil as follows: skeleton soil > yellow soil > paddy soil > limestone soil > purple soil. Land use type also hadcertain influences upon the soil Se content as follows: dry land > construction land > garden plot > grassland =garden plot > forest land.(3) Taking 0.4 mg kg^(-1)B x(Se) <3.0 mg kg^(-1) as the standard for Se-rich soil, Se-rich soil of the study area covered an area of 2224 km^2 and 92.5% of the total area; the remaining is general soil. The study area had no Se-excess soil. 7Microsatellite polymorphisms of Sichuan golden monkeys显示文摘Previous study using protein electrophoresis shows no polymorphism in 44 nuclear loci of Sichuan golden monkey (Rhinopithecus roxellana), which limits our understandings of its population genetic patterns in the nuclear genome. In order to obtain sufficient information, we scanned 14 microsatellite loci in a sample of 32 individuals from its three major habitats (Minshan, Qinling and Shen-nongjia). A considerable amount of polymorphisms were detected. The average heterozygosities in the local populations were all above 0.5. The differentiations among local populations were significant. There was evidence of geneflow among subpopulations, but geneflow between Qinling and Shennongjia local populations was the weakest. Minshan and Qinling populations might have gone through recent bottlenecks. The estimation of the ratio of the effective population sizes among local populations was close to that from census sizes. Comparisons to available mitochondria data suggested that R. roxellana’s social structures played an important role in shaping its population genetic patterns. 8Facile synthesis of bimodal macroporous g-C_3N_4/SnO_2 nanohybrids with enhanced photocatalytic activity显示文摘It is of vital importance to construct highly interconnected,macroporous photocatalyst to improve its efficiency and applicability in solar energy conversion and environment remediation.Graphitic-like C_3N_4(g-C_3N_4),as an analogy to two-dimensional(2D)graphene,is highly identified as a visible-lightresponsive polymeric semiconductor.Moreover,the feasibility of g-C_3N_4 in making porous structures has been well established.However,the preparation of macroporous g-C_3N_4 with abundant porous networks and exposure surface,still constitutes a difficulty.To solve it,we report a first facile preparation of bimodal macroporous g-C_3N_4 hybrids with abundant in-plane holes,which is simply enabled by in-situ modification through thermally treating the mixture of thiourea and SnCl_4(pore modifier)after rotary evaporation.For one hand,the formed in-plane macropores endow the g-C_3N_4 system with plentiful active sites and short,cross-plane diffusion channels that can greatly speed up mass transport and transfer.For another,the heterojunctions founded between g-C_3N_4 and SnO_2 consolidate the electron transfer reaction to greatly reduce the recombination probability.As a consequence,the resulted macroporous gC_3N_4/SnO_2 nanohybrid had a high specific surface area(SSA)of 44.3 m^2/g that was quite comparable to most nano/mesoporous g-C_3N_4 reported.The interconnected porous network also rendered a highly intensified light absorption by strengthening the light penetration.Together with the improved mass transport and electron transfer,the macroporous g-C_3N_4/SnO_2 hybrid exhibited about 2.4-fold increment in the photoactivity compared with pure g-C_3N_4.Additionally,the recyclability of such hybrid could be guaranteed after eight successive uses.Yingzhi Chen Wenhao Li Dongjian Jiang Kuo Men Zhen Li Ling Li Shizheng Sun Jingyuan Li Zheng-Hong Huang Lu-Ning Wang 2019Science Bulletin2019,64,1:7
9A Review of Technical Advances,Barriers,and Solutions in the Power to Hydrogen(P2H)Roadmap显示文摘Power to hydrogen(P2H)provides a promising solution to the geographic mismatch between sources of renewable energy and the market,due to its technological maturity,flexibility,and the availability of technical and economic data from a range of active demonstration projects.In this review,we aim to provide an overview of the status of P2H,analyze its technical barriers and solutions,and propose potential opportunities for future research and industrial demonstrations.We specifically focus on the transport of hydrogen via natural gas pipeline networks and end-user purification.Strong evidence shows that an addition of about 10%hydrogen into natural gas pipelines has negligible effects on the pipelines and utilization appliances,and may therefore extend the asset value of the pipelines after natural gas is depleted.To obtain pure hydrogen from hydrogen-enriched natural gas(HENG)mixtures,end-user separation is inevitable,and can be achieved through membranes,adsorption,and other promising separation technologies.However,novel materials with high selectivity and capacity will be the key to the development of industrial processes,and an integrated membrane-adsorption process may be considered in order to produce high-purity hydrogen from HENG.It is also worth investigating the feasibility of electrochemical separation(hydrogen pumping)at a large scale and its energy analysis.Cryogenics may only be feasible when liquefied natural gas(LNG)is one of the major products.A range of other technological and operational barriers and opportunities,such as water availability,byproduct(oxygen)utilization,and environmental impacts,are also discussed.This review will advance readers’understanding of P2H and foster the development of the hydrogen economy.Guoping Hu Chao Chen Hiep Thuan Lu Yue Wu Congmin Liu Lefu Tao Yuhan Men Guangli He Kevin Gang Li 2020Engineering2020,6,12:7

12Improving the damage potential of W-Zr reactive structure material under extreme loading condition显示文摘Projectiles made of reactive structure materials(RSM)can damage the target with not only kinetic but also chemical energy,but the enhanced damage potential of RSM may become compromised if extreme loading condition disintegrates the projectile before the target is reached.In this work,a ductile coating of Ni was introduced to a tungsten-zirconium(W-Zr)alloy,a typical brittle RSM,to preserve the damage potential of the projectile.Detonation driving tests were carried out with X-ray photography and gunpowder deflagration driving tests were carried out with high-speed photography for the coated and uncoated RSM samples,respectively.The craters on the witness target were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction.The Ni coating was found to effectively preserve the damage potential of the W-Zr alloy under extreme loading conditions,whereas the uncoated sample fractured and ignited before impacting the target in both detonation and deflagration driving.The crack propagation between the reactively brittle core and the ductile coating was analyzed based on the crack arrest theory to mechanistically demonstrate how the coating improves the structural integrity and preserves the damage potential of the projectile.Specifically,the Ni coating envelops theW-Zr core until the coated sphere penetrates the target,and the coating is then eroded and worn to release the reactive core for the projectile to damage the target more intensively.Lu-yao Wang Jian-wei Jiang Mei Li Jian-bing Men Shu-you Wang 2021Defence Technology(防务技术)2021,17,2:6
13Cascade effects of crop species richness on the diversity of pest insects and their natural enemies显示文摘Understanding how plant species richness influences the diversity of herbivorous and predatory/parasitic arthropods is central to community ecology.We explore the effects of crop species richness on the diversity of pest insects and their natural enemies.Using data from a four-year experiment with five levels of crop species richness,we found that crop species richness significantly affected the pest species richness,but there were no significant effects on richness of the pests’natural enemies.In contrast,the species richness of pest insects significantly affected their natural enemies.These findings suggest a cascade effect where trophic interactions are strong between adjacent trophic levels,while the interactions between connected but nonadjacent trophic levels are weakened by the intermediate trophic level.High crop species richness resulted in a more stable arthropod community compared with communities in monoculture crops.Our results highlight the complicated cross-trophic interactions and the crucial role of crop diversity in the food webs of agro-ecosystems.SHI PeiJian HUI Cang MEN XingYuan ZHAO ZiHua OUYANG Fang GE Feng JIN XianShi CAO HaiFeng LI B.Larry 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,7:6

15Establishment of a mouse model of cancer cachexia with spleen deficiency syndrome and the effects of atractylenolide I显示文摘Cancer cachexia is a multifactorial metabolic syndrome that affects~50%–80%of cancer patients,and no effective therapy for cancer cachexia is presently available.In traditional Chinese medicine,a large portion of patients with cancer cachexia was diagnosed as spleen deficiency syndrome and treated with tonifying TCMs that produce clinic benefits.In this study we established a new animal model of spleen deficiency and cancer cachexia in mice and evaluated the therapeutic effects of atractylenolide I,an active component of tonifying TCM BaiZhu,in the mouse model.Cancer cachexia was induced in male BALB/c mice by inoculation of mouse C26 colon adenocarcinoma cells,whereas spleen deficiency syndrome was induced by treating the mice with spleen deficiency-inducing factors,including limited feeding,fatigue,and purging.The mouse model was characterized by both cachexia and spleen deficiency characteristics,including significant body weight loss,cancer growth,muscle atrophy,fat lipolysis,spleen,and thymus atrophy as compared with healthy control mice,cancer cachexia mice,and spleen deficiency mice.Oral administration of atractylenolide I(20 mg·kg?1per day,for 30 days)significantly ameliorated the reduction in body weight and atrophy of muscle,fat,spleen,and thymus in mice with spleen deficiency and cachexia.The established model of spleen deficiency and cancer cachexia might be useful in the future for screening possible anticachexia TCMs and clarifying their mechanisms.Wan-li Zhang Na Li Qiang Shen Men Fan Xiao-dong Guo Xiong-wen Zhang Zhou Zhang Xuan Liu 2020Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,2:6

17Schedulability of Fault Tolerant Real Time System Based on Local Optimum Checkpoint Under Priority Mixed Strategy显示文摘Against the defect of the real time system fault tolerant model that can only tolerate one fault, the Local optimum checkpoint(LOC) algorithm was proposed.Then according to the schedulability analysis, the worst case response time formula under the fault tolerant priority mixed strategy based on the local optimum checkpoint was deduced. Finally the Fault tolerant priority configuration search algorithm under Mixed strategy based on LOC(FTPCS-MS-LOC) was proposed. The FTPCS-MS-LOC can tolerate multiple transient faults. The algorithm can effectively reduce the search space compared to the enumeration method. 19Analysis on Volatile Constituents in Leaves and Fruits of Ficus carica by GC-MS显示文摘Objective To identify and analyze the volatile constituents in the leaves and fruits of Ficus carica. Methods Gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) were used. Results The major components detected in volatile oil of the leaves were psoralen (10.12%), β-damascenone (10.17%), benzyl alcohol (4.56%), behenic acid (4.79%), and bergapten (1.99%), etc. The major components detected in volatile oil of the fruits were furfural (10.55%), 5-methyl-2-furaldehyde (10.1%), and benzeneacetaldehyde (6.59%), etc. Conclusion A total of 121 volatile constituents are identified in the leaves and 108 in the fruits of F. carica, among which 103 constituents are identified for the first time in the leaves and 100 in the fruits.
