| 1 | Positive impact of adding No.14v lymph node to D2 dissection on survival for distal gastric cancer patients after surgery with curative intent显示文摘Background:D2 lymphadenectomy has been increasingly regarded as standard surgical procedure for advanced gastric cancer(GC),while the necessity of No.14 v lymph node(14v) dissection for distal GC is still controversial.Methods:A total of 920 distal GC patients receiving at least a D2 lymph node dissection in Department of Gastric Cancer,Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital were enrolled in this study,of whom,243 patients also had the 14 v dissected.Other 677 patients without 14 v dissection were used for comparison.Results:Forty-five(18.5%) patients had 14 v metastasis.There was no significant difference in 3-year overall survival(OS) rate between patients with and without 14 v dissection.Following stratified analysis,in TNM stages I,II,IIIa and IV,14 v dissection did not affect 3-year OS;in contrast,patients with 14 v dissection had a significant higher 3-year OS than those without in TNM stages IIIb and IIIc.In multivariate analysis,14 v dissection was found to be an independent prognostic factor for GC patients with TNM stage IIIb/IIIc disease [hazard ratio(HR),1.568;95% confidence interval(CI):1.186-2.072;P=0.002].GC patients with 14 v dissection had a significant lower locoregional,especially lymph node,recurrence rate than those without 14 v dissection(11.7 % vs.21.1%,P=0.035).Conclusions:Adding 14 v to D2 lymphadenectomy may be associated with improved 3-year OS for distal GC staged TNM Ⅲb/Ⅲc. | Yuexiang Liang Liangliang Wu Xiaona Wang Xuewei Ding Hongmin Liu Bin Li Baogui Wang Yuan Pan Rupeng Zhang Ning Liu Han Liang | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,6: | 22 |

| 3 | Fractional Fourier domain hopped communication method based on chirp modulation for underwater acoustic channels显示文摘To improve the data rate of underwater acoustic frequency-hopped communications, frequency hopping is applied to different orders of fractional Fourier domain(Fr FD), to enable non-intrusive, bandwidth-limited acoustic communications.An Fr FD frequency-hopped communication method based on chirp modulation, namely multiple chirp shift keying-Fr FD hopping(MCSK-Fr FDH), is proposed for underwater acoustic channels. Validated by both simulations and experimental results, this method can reach a bandwidth efficiency twice more than conventional frequency-hopped methods with the same data rate and anti-multipath capability, suggesting that the proposed method achieves a better performance than the traditional frequencyhopped communication in underwater acoustic communication channels. | 5 | Prognostic significance of lymphovascular infiltration in overall survival of gastric cancer patients after surgery with curative intent显示文摘Objective: Lymphovascular infiltration(LVI) is frequently detected in gastric cancer(GC) specimens. Studies have revealed that GC patients with LVI have a poorer prognosis than those without LVI.Methods: In total, 1,007 patients with curatively resected GC at Department of Gastric Cancer, Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital were retrospectively enrolled. The patients were categorized into two groups based on the LVI status: a positive group(PG;presence of LVI) and a negative group(NG;absence of LVI). The clinicopathological factors corrected with LVI and prognostic variables were analyzed. Additionally, a pathological lymphovascular-node(lvN) classification system was proposed to evaluate the superiority of its prognostic prediction of GC patients compared with that of the eighth edition of the N staging system.Results: Two hundred twenty-four patients(22.2%) had LVI. The depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis were independently associated with the presence of LVI. GC patients with LVI demonstrated a significantly lower overall survival(OS) rate than those without LVI(42.8% vs. 68.9%, respectively;P<0.001). In multivariate analysis,LVI was identified as an independent prognostic factor for GC patients(hazard ratio: 1.370;95% confidence interval: 1.094-1.717;P=0.006). Using strata analysis, significant prognostic differences between the groups were only observed in patients at stage I-IIIa or N0-2. The lvN classification was found to be more appropriate to predict the OS of GC patients after curative surgery than the pN staging system. The-2 log-likelihood of lvN classification(4,746.922) was smaller than the value of pN(4,765.196), and the difference was statistically significant(χ^2=18.434, P<0.001).Conclusions: The presence of LVI influences the OS of GC patients at stage Ⅰ-Ⅲ a or N0-2. | 8 | Elevated preoperative plasma D-dimer dose not adversely affect survival of gastric cancer after gastrectomy with curative intent: A propensity score analysis显示文摘Objective: Elevated plasma D-dimer has been reported to be associated with advanced tumor stage and poor survival in several types of malignancies. The purpose of this study was to assess the potential impact of preoperative plasma D-dimer level(PDL) on overall survival(OS) of gastric cancer(GC) patients undergoing curative surgery by applying propensity score analysis.Methods: A total of 1,025 curatively resected GC patients in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute &Hospital were enrolled. Patients were categorized into two groups based on preoperative PDL: the elevated group(EG) and the normal group(NG). To overcome bias due to the different distribution of covariates for the two groups, a one-to-one match was applied using propensity score analysis, after matching, prognostic factors were analyzed.Results: In analysis for the whole study series, patients in the EG were more likely to have a larger proportion of tumor size ≥5 cm(67.5% vs. 55.8%, P=0.006), elder mean age(64.0±10.8 years vs. 60.5±11.6 years, P<0.001) and advanced tumor(T), node(N), and TNM stage. Patients with elevated PDL demonstrated a significantly lower 5-year OS than those with normal PDL(27.0% vs. 42.6%, P<0.001), however, the PDL was not an independent prognostic factor for OS in multivariate analysis [hazard ratio: 1.13, 95% confidence interval(95% CI): 0.92–1.39,P=0.236]. After matching, 163 patients in the EG and 163 patients in the NG had the same characteristics. | 11 | In-situ optimizing the valence configuration of vanadium sites in NiV-LDH nanosheet arrays for enhanced hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘Developing the highly active, cost-effective, environmental-friendly, and ultra-stable nonprecious electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) is distinctly indispensable for the large-scale practical applications of hydrolytic hydrogen production. Herein, we report the synthesis of well-integrated electrode, NiV layered double hydroxide nanosheet array grown in-situ on porous nickel foam(abbreviated as in-NiV-LDH/NF) via the facile one-step hydrothermal route. Interestingly, the valence configuration of vanadium(V) sites in such NiV-LDH are well dominated by the innovative use of NF as the reducing regulator, achieving the reassembled in-NiV-LDH/NF with a high proportion of trivalent V ions(V3+), and then an enhanced intrinsic electrocatalytic HER activity. The HER testing results show that the in-NiVLDH/NF drives the current densities of 10 and 100 mA cm-2 at extremely low overpotentials of 114 and 245 mV without iR-compensation respectively, even outperforms commercial 20 wt% Pt/C at the large current density of over 80 mA cm-2 in alkaline media, as well as gives robust catalytic durability of at least 100 h in both alkaline and neutral media. | 12 | Research on fault detection method for heat pump air conditioning system under cold weather显示文摘Building energy consumption accounts for nearly 40% of global energy consumption, HVAC(Heating, Ventilating,and Air Conditioning) systems are the major building energy consumers, and as one type of HVAC systems, the heat pump air conditioning system, which is more energy-efficient compared to the traditional air conditioning system, is being more widely used to save energy. However, in northern China, extreme climatic conditions increase the cooling and heating load of the heat pump air conditioning system and accelerate the aging of the equipment, and the sensor may detect drifted parameters owing to climate change. This non-linear drifted parameter increases the false alarm rate of the fault detection and the need for unnecessary troubleshooting.In order to overcome the impact of the device aging and the drifted parameter, a Kalman filter and SPC(statistical process control) fault detection method are introduced in this paper. In this method, the model parameter and its standard variance can be estimated by Kalman filter based on the gray model and the real-time data of the air conditioning system. | 18 | Magnetostrictive properties and detection efficiency of TbDyFe/FeCo composite materials for nondestructive testing显示文摘In order to develop a highly sensitive material for nondestructive testing(NDT),(Tb_(0.3) Dy_(0.7))Fe_(1.95) thin films were deposited on FeCo substrates at room temperature by magnetron sputtering and annealed.The magnetostrictive properties and the detection efficiency of the composite films were investigated.Results demonstrate that the detection efficiency roughly shows regular consistency with the magnetostrictive strain of the TbDyFe films. Heat treatment has a great effect on the crystalline state and the magnetostrictive strain of the composite materials. The as-deposited(Tb_(0.3) Dy_(0.7))Fe_(1.95) films are amorphous, and the saturation magnetostriction(ls) is only 90 ppm. However, the nanostructured crystalline REFe2 is partially separated out in amorphous matrix after annealing at 600C for 1 h, and the ls increases to 265 ppm. Simultaneously, the detection efficiency of the composite materials is obviously improved compared to that of the as-deposited films. The detection signal of traditional FeCo strip is0.4 V at the excitation power of 1.0 P and frequency of 128 kHz and that of the strip increases significantly by depositing one layer of(Tb_(0.3) Dy_(0.7))Fe_(1.95) film. The detection signal of the composite material annealed at 600C is the best, even reaching saturation value of 2.5 V(1.0 P, 128 kHz). | 19 | Hydrogen sulfide removal by catalytic oxidative absorption method using rotating packed bed reactor显示文摘Using catalytic oxidative absorption for H_2S removal is of great interest due to its distinct advantages. However,traditional scrubbing process faces a great limitation in the confined space. Therefore, there is an urgent demand to develop high-efficiency process intensification technology for such a system. In this article, H_2S absorption experimental research was conducted in a rotating packed bed(RPB) reactor with ferric chelate absorbent and a mixture of N_2 and H_2S, which was used to simulate natural gas. The effects of absorbent p H value, gas–liquid ratio, gravity level of RPB, absorption temperature and character of the packing on the desulfurization efficiency were investigated. The results showed that H_2S removal efficiency could reach above 99.6% under the most of the experimental condition and above 99.9% under the optimal condition. A long-time continuous experiment was conducted to investigate the stability of the whole process combining absorption and regeneration. The result showed that the process could well realize simultaneous desulfurization and absorbent regeneration, and the H_2S removal efficiency kept relatively stable in the whole duration of 72 h.
