1Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 2The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 3The Medium Energy X-ray telescope (ME) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Medium Energy X-ray telescope(ME) is one of the three main telescopes on board the Insight hard X-ray modulation telescope(Insight-HXMT) astronomy satellite. ME contains 1728 pixels of Si-PIN detectors sensitive in 5-30 ke V with a total geometrical area of 952 cm^2. The application specific integrated circuit(ASIC) chip, VA32TA6, is used to achieve low power consumption and low readout noise. The collimators define three kinds of field of views(FOVs) for the telescope, 1°×4°, 4°×4°,and blocked ones. Combination of such FOVs can be used to estimate the in-orbit X-ray and particle background components.The energy resolution of ME is ~3 ke V at 17.8 ke V(FWHM) and the time resolution is 255 μs. 4Building Osteogenic Microenvironments with a Double-Network Composite Hydrogel for Bone Repair显示文摘The critical factor determining the in vivo effect of bone repair materials is the microenvironment,which greatly depends on their abilities to promote vascularization and bone formation.However,implant materials are far from ideal candidates for guiding bone regeneration due to their deficient angiogenic and osteogenic microenvironments.Herein,a double-network composite hydrogel combining vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)-mimetic peptide with hydroxyapatite(HA)precursor was developed to build an osteogenic microenvironment for bone repair.The hydrogel was prepared by mixing acrylatedβ-cyclodextrins and octacalcium phosphate(OCP),an HA precursor,with gelatin solution,followed by ultraviolet photo-crosslinking.To improve the angiogenic potential of the hydrogel,QK,a VEGF-mimicking peptide,was loaded in acrylatedβ-cyclodextrins.The QK-loaded hydrogel promoted tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells and upregulated the expression of angiogenesis-related genes,such as Flt1,Kdr,and VEGF,in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Moreover,QK could recruit bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Furthermore,OCP in the composite hydrogel could be transformed into HA and release calcium ions facilitating bone regeneration.The double-network composite hydrogel integrated QK and OCP showed obvious osteoinductive activity.The results of animal experiments showed that the composite hydrogel enhanced bone regeneration in skull defects of rats,due to perfect synergistic effects of QK and OCP on vascularized bone regeneration.In summary,improving the angiogenic and osteogenic microenvironments by our double-network composite hydrogel shows promising prospects for bone repair.Jiaying Li Jinjin Ma Qian Feng En Xie Qingchen Meng Wenmiao Shu Junxi Wu Liming Bian Fengxuan Han Bin Li 2023Research2023,,3:3
5Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. 6A hybrid lattice Boltzmann flux solver for integrated hypersonic fluid-thermal-structural analysis显示文摘In this paper,a hybrid Lattice Boltzmann Flux Solver(LBFS)with an improved switch function is proposed for simulation of integrated hypersonic fluid-thermal-structural problems.In the solver,the macroscopic Navier–Stokes equations and structural heat transfer equation are discretized by the finite volume method,and the numerical fluxes at the cell interface are reconstructed by the local solution of the Boltzmann equation.To compute the numerical fluxes,two equilibrium distribution functions are introduced.One is the D1Q4 discrete velocity model for calculating the inviscid flux across the cell interface of Navier–Stokes equations,and the other is the D2Q4 model for evaluating the flux of structural energy equation.In this work,a new dual thermal resistance model is proposed to calculate the thermal properties at the fluid–solid interface.The accuracy and stability of the present hybrid solver are validated by simulating several numerical examples,including the fluid-thermal-structural problem of cylindrical leading edge.Numerical results show that the present solver can accurately predict the thermal properties of hypersonic fluid-thermalstructural problems and has the great potential for solving fluid-thermal-structural problems of long-endurance high-speed vehicles.Jiawei LI Jiangfeng WANG Liming YANG Chang SHU 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,9:1

14Multifunctional Gd-CuS loaded UCST polymeric micelles for MR/PA imaging-guided chemo-photothermal tumor treatment显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a life-threatening disease for which there is no effective treatment currently.Novel theranostics simultaneously having excellent imaging and therapeutic functions are highly desired in cancer therapy.Herein,we develop the sialic acid(SA)modified polymeric micelles at an upper critical solution temperature(UCST)of 43℃(sialic acid-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(acrylamide-co-acrylonitrile),SA-PEG-p(AAm-co-AN)),which further encapsulated with doxorubicin(DOX)and Gd-CuS nanoparticles(Gd-CuS NPs)for chemo-photothermal treatment of HCC guided by magnetic resonance(MR)/photoacoustic(PA)dual-mode imaging.The resultant SA-PEG-p(AAm-co-AN)/DOX/Gd-CuS(SPDG)had an excellent photothermal conversion efficiency,enabling SPDG with an instantaneous release behavior of DOX under near-infrared(NIR)irradiation.This study also revealed that SPDG could actively target to HCC,which was due to that SA had a high affinity with E-selectin overexpressed at the tumor site.Moreover,benefiting from the HCC-targeted ability and NIR light-controlled on-demand delivery of DOX,SPDG showed a superior potential in MR/PA dual-mode imaging-guided chemo-photothermal treatment.Overall,our study reveals that the designed SPDG may be used as an ideal multifunctional nanoplatform for cancer theranostics.Yan Du Di Liu Mingchen Sun Gaofeng Shu Jing Qi Yuchan You Yiting Xu Kai Fan Xiaoling Xu Feiyang Jin Jun Wang Qiying Shen Luwen Zhu Xiaoying Ying Jiansong Ji Liming Wu Daren Liu Yongzhong Du 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:0
15Cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of multi-walled carbon nanotubes with human ocular cells显示文摘Cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of plasma-modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), including hydroxyl-MWCNTs (MWCNT-OH), carboxyl-MWCNTs (MWCNT-COOH) and pristine MWCNTs, with human ocular cells (e.g. retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells) have been studied in this work. The addition of MWCNT-based materials caused few change in cell morphology while the presence of MWCNTs was observed inside the cells using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), suggesting possibility of MWCNTs passing through the cell membranes without damaging cells. Cell viability measurements suggested that MWCNT-COOH exhibited better biocompatibility than other MWCNT materials studied in this work. Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) release level was found to be less than 30% with all types of MWCNT-based materials. Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) generation was visible but not severe with addition of nanotubes. A smaller oxidative stress level was obtained from MWCNT-COOH. Cell apoptosis was found to be less than 1.5% with addition of MWCNT-based materials. Particularly MWCNTs were found to be swallowed by cells and released by cells after 72 h without damaging cells, which may be considered as a potential vector for ocular genetic diseases. 16Systematic review of computational modelling for biomechanics analysis of total knee replacement显示文摘In vitro and in vivo testing can provide insight into knee joint mechanics and implant performance.However,these methods are costly and time-consuming,which always limits their widespread use during the design stage of the implant.This review presents a critical analysis of computational modelling(in-silicon)techniques including(i)development of a generic model of total knee replacement(TKR)and application of material properties,loading,and boundary conditions;(ii)design and execution of computational experiments;and(iii)practical applications and significant findings.The results show that the generic model and techniques provide significant insight into the general performance of TKR but have limited explicit validation.The introduction of design-of-experiments,probabilistic,and neural network methodologies in computational modelling has enabled simulation at the population level.Further advances in subjective modelling appear to be limited,mainly because of the lack of subjective materials and boundary conditions.Computational modelling will increasingly be used in the preclinical testing and design of TKR.This modelling should include subjective,multi-scale,and closely corroborated analyses to account for the variability of TKR.Liming Shu Shihao Li Naohiko Sugita 2020Biosurface and Biotribology2020,6,1:0
17Towards a shape-performance integrated digital twin for lumbar spine analysis[version 1;peer review:1 approved,1 not approved]显示文摘Background:With significant advancement and demand for digital transformation,the digital twin has been gaining increasing attention as it is capable of establishing real-time mapping between physical space and virtual space.In this work,a shape-performance integrated digital twin solution is presented to predict the real-time biomechanics of the lumbar spine during human movement.Methods:A finite element model(FEM)of the lumbar spine was firstly developed using computed tomography(CT)and constrained by the body movement which was calculated by the inverse kinematics algorithm.The Gaussian process regression was utilized to train the predicted results and create the digital twin of the lumbar spine in real-time.Finally,a three-dimensional virtual reality system was developed using Unity3D to display and record the real-time biomechanics performance of the lumbar spine during body movement.Results:The evaluation results presented an agreement(R-squared>0.8)between the real-time prediction from digital twin and offline FEM prediction.Conclusions:This approach provides an effective method of real-time planning and warning in spine rehabilitation.Xiwang He Yiming Qiu Xiaonan Lai Zhonghai Li Liming Shu Wei Sun Xueguan Song 2021Digital Twin2021,1,1:0
18X-Ray Fine Structure of a Limb Solar Flare Revealed by Insight-HXMT,RHESSI and Fermi显示文摘We conduct a detailed analysis of an M1.3 limb flare occurring on 2017 July 3,which have the X-ray observations recorded by multiple hard X-ray telescopes,including Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT),Ramaty High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager(RHESSI),and the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope(Fermi).Joint analysis has also used the extreme ultraviolet(EUV)imaging data from the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly(AIA)aboard the Solar Dynamic Observatory.The hard X-ray spectral and imaging evolution suggest a lower corona source,and the non-thermal broken power law distribution has a rather low break energy~15 keV.The EUV imaging shows a rather stable plasma configuration before the hard X-ray peak phase,and accompanied by a filament eruption during the hard X-ray flare peak phase.Hard X-ray image reconstruction from RHESSI data only shows one foot point source.We also determined the DEM for the peak phase by SDO/AIA data.The integrated EM beyond 10 MK at foot point onset after the peak phase,while the>10 MK source around reconnection site began to fade.The evolution of EM and hard X-ray source supports lower corona plasma heating after non-thermal energy dissipation.The combination of hard X-ray spectra and images during the limb flare provides the understanding on the interchange of non-thermal and thermal energies,and relation between lower corona heating and the upper corona instability.Ping Zhang Wei Wang Yang Su Shuangnan Zhang Liming Song Fangjun Lu Shu Zhang 2022Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2022,22,5:0
