2Novel and potent inhibitors targeting DHODH are broad-spectrum antivirals against RNA viruses including newly-emerged coronavirus SARS-CoV-2显示文摘Emerging and re-emerging RNA viruses occasionally cause epidemics and pandemics worldwide,such as the on-going outbreak of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.Herein,we identified two potent inhibitors of human DHODH,S312 and S416,with favorable drug-likeness and pharmacokinetic profiles,which all showed broad-spectrum antiviral effects against various RNA viruses,including influenza A virus,Zika virus,Ebola virus,and particularly against SARS-CoV-2.Notably,S416 is reported to be the most potent inhibitor so far with an EC5o of 17 nmol/L and an SI value of 10,505.88 in infec-ted cells.Our results are the first to validate that DHODH is an attractive host target through high antiviral efficacy in vivo and low virus replication in DHODH knock-out cells.This work demonstrates that both S312/S416 and old drugs(Leflunomide/Teriflunomide)with dual actions of antiviral and immuno-regulation may have clinical potentials to cure SARS-CoV-2 or other RNA viruses circulating worldwide,no matter such viruses are mutated or not.Rui Xiong Leike Zhang Shiliang Li Yuan Sun Minyi Ding Yong Wang Yongliang Zhao Yan Wu Weijuan Shang Xiaming Jiang Jiwei Shan Zihao Shen Yi Tong Liuxin Xu Yu Chen Yingle Liu Gang Zou Dimitri Lavillete Zhenjiang Zhao Rui Wang Lili Zhu Gengfu Xiao Ke Lan Honglin Li Ke Xu 2020Protein & Cell2020,11,10:14
3Seasonal variability in free-living marine nematode community structure in a sandy beach of the Taiping Bay of Qingdao,China显示文摘Nematode assemblage composition, trophic structure and biodiversity were followed over an annual cycle in a sandy beach of the Taiping Bay of Qingdao, China. Nematode assemblage in the sandy beach maintained a high genus diversity (75 genera). Microlaimus and Bathylaimus were the dominant genus of the nematode assemblage, accounting for 66% of the total nematode abundance. The nematodes' dominant trophic structure changed seasonally as a response to the seasonal changes in food quality. Epigrowth-feeder nematodes (2A) were the dominant trophic groups in the trophic structure with the highest abundance in spring because of phytoplankton bloom, while the feeding type (1B) showed higher abundance in summer that was due to the increasing of sediment detritus after spring bloom. Furthermore, species diversity and evenness calculated on nematodes identified to the genus level displayed significant temporal changes, which was also reflected by the index of trophic diversity. According to the cluster analysis, the nematode community structure of the whole year was clearly separated into two periods (A and B). Biota-Environment matching (BIOENV) results showed that seawater temperature,sediment Chl a and grain size were responsible for the nematode community structure variation in spring and summer period (Period A). 4Ultrafast optical spectroscopy evidence of pseudogap and electronphonon coupling in an iron-based superconductor KCa_(2)Fe_(4)As_(4)F_(2)显示文摘We use ultrafast optical spectroscopy to study the nonequilibrium quasiparticle relaxation dynamics of the iron-based superconductor KCa_(2)Fe_(4)A_(s4)F_(2)with T_(c)= 33.5 K. Our results reveal a possible pseudogap(△_(PG)=(2.4 ± 0.1) me V) below T*≈ 50 K but prior to the opening of a superconducting gap(△SC(0) ≈(4.3 ± 0.1) me V). Measurements under high pump fluence reveal two distinct, coherent phonon oscillations with 1.95 and 5.51 THz frequencies, respectively. 5Arbitrary focusing lens by holographic metasurface显示文摘In this paper, an ultrathin metalens has been proposed based on a holographic metasurface that consists of elongated apertures in 40 nm gold film, which exhibit intriguing properties such as on-and off-axis focusing and also can concentrate light into multiple, discrete spots for circularly polarized incident lights. First, the spatial transmission phase distributions of the designed metalens with arbitrary focusing can be obtained by computergenerated holography. Then, the discrete phase distributions can be continuously encoded by subwavelength nanoapertures with spatially varying orientations in gold film. The simulation results show that our designed metalens can work efficiently for different types of focusing. 6High-performance flexible perovskite photodetectors based on single-crystal-like two-dimensional Ruddlesden-Popper thin films显示文摘Two-dimensional Ruddlesden-Popper(2DRP)perovskites have attracted intense research interest for optoelectronic applications,due to their tunable optoelectronic properties and better environmental stability than their threedimensional counterparts.Furthermore,high-performance photodetectors based on single-crystal and polycrystalline thin-films 2DRP perovskites have shown great potential for practical application.However,the complex growth process of single-crystal membranes and uncontrollable phase distribution of polycrystalline films hinder the further development of 2DRP perovskites photodetectors.Herein,we report a series of high-performance photodetectors based on single-crystal-like phase-pure 2DRP perovskite films by designing a novel spacer source.Experimental and theoretical evidence demonstrates that phase-pure films substantially suppress defect states and ion migration.These highly sensitive photodetectors show I_(light)/I_(dark) ratio exceeding 3×10^(4),responsivities exceeding 16 A/W,and detectivities exceeding 3×10^(13) Jones,which are higher at least by 1 order than those of traditional mixed-phase thinfilms 2DRP devices(close to the reported single-crystal devices).More importantly,this strategy can significantly enhance the operational stability of optoelectronic devices and pave the way to large-area flexible productions.Chao Liang Hao Gu Junmin Xia Tanghao Liu Shiliang Mei Nan Zhang Yonghua Chen Guichuan Xing 2023Carbon Energy2023,5,2:4
7Ultra-thin,planar,broadband,dual-polarity plasmonic metalens显示文摘An ultrathin,planar,broadband metalens composed of metal rectangular split-ring resonators(MRSRRs) has been designed,which shows dual-polarity characteristics for different types of circularly polarized(CP) light incidence.The designed metalens can be considered as the focusing lens and the diverging lens under left-handed CP and right-handed CP light incidence,respectively.The phase discontinuity of the cross-polarized transmission light is produced by optical-axis rotation through modulating two arms’ lengths of the MRSRR.The MRSRR metalens possesses a wavelength-controllable focal length and a relatively larger chromatic aberration compared with the conventional lenses.And the focal length changes from 9 to 7 μm with incident wavelength from 740 to 950 nm.The dual-polarity flat metalens opens a door for new applications of phase discontinuity devices,and it will promote the fabricating capability of on-chip or fiber-embedded optical devices.Wei Wang Zhongyi Guo Rongzhen Li Jingran Zhang Yi Liu Xinshun Wang and Shiliang Qu 2015Photonics Research2015,3,3:4
8Intrinsic mode characteristic analysis and extraction in underwater cylindrical shell acoustic radiation显示文摘Target dimension is important information in underwater target classification. An intrinsic mode characteristic extraction method in underwater cylindrical shell acoustic radiation was studied in this paper based on the mechanism of shell vibration to gain the information about its dimension instead of accurate inversion processing. The underwater cylindrical shell vibration and acoustic radiation were first analyzed using mode decomposition to solve the wave equation. The characteristic of acoustic radiation was studied with different cylindrical shell lengths, radii, thickness, excitation points and fine structures. Simulation results show that the intrinsic mode in acoustic radiation spectrum correlates closely with the geometry dimensions of cylindrical shells. Through multifaceted analysis, the strongest intrinsic mode characteristic extracted from underwater shell acoustic radiated signal was most likely relevant to the radiated source radius. Then, partial information about unknown source dimension could be gained from intrinsic mode characteristic in passive sonar applications for underwater target classification. 12The Distribution of Green Algal Micro-Propagules and Macroalgae at the Early Stage of Green Tide in the Coastal Area of South Jiangsu Province in 2014显示文摘An integrated investigation was carried out during late April to late May of 2014 in the coastal area of South Jiangsu Province to understand the early development of green tide in the Yellow Sea and discover the temporal and spatial distribution of green algal micro-propagules and macroalgae at the early stage of green tide. The results showed that green algal micro-propagules distributed in all stations from late April to late May, and micro-propagules of high density(> 300 ind. L^(-1)) concentrated in the adjacent Porphyra aquaculture area. Floating macroalgae were initially observed in the northern survey areas, and increased gradually. The dominant species was U. prolifera in the floating macroalgae, ranging between 90% and 100%. The seawater surface temperature and salinity in the above mentioned time period were suitable for the growth of macroalgae. 13Landscape Network Approach to Assess Ecological Impacts of Road Projects on Biological Conservation显示文摘Awareness of the adverse ecological effects of road and other large construction projects has resulted in a rapidly growing demand to quantitatively predict and evaluate the effects on gene flow among plants and animals in natural habitats.In this study,we evaluated the effects of different road construction scenarios on animal species movement by using the methods of ecological landscape connectivity in the typical regions of Yunnan Province,China.The results showed landscape connectivity levels(Probability of Connectivity(PC))decreased after road construction and species with lower dispersal abilities were more affected to the subsequent habitat fragmentation.First level roads affected landscape connectivity most significantly.At a distance of 100 m,the PC index decreased more than 50%.Further analysis suggested that the use of landscape connectivity to assess landscape processes revealed the adverse effects on the species movement more effectively compared with the traditional landscape pattern analysis.In addition,we conducted a graph theory and a least-cost modeling discussion,it is obvious that they are powerful tools to represent and analyze landscape networks with respect to related species movement.Network analysis offers a quantitative and simple but effective tool for ecological process assessment and biological conservation on large scales.LIU Shiliang DENG Li CHEN Liding LI Junran DONG Shikui ZHAO Haidi 2014Chinese Geographical Science2014,24,1:3
14Cycle number of neoadjuvant chemotherapy might influence survival of patients with T1-4N2-3M0 nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Objective: Stage N2-3 nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) shows a high risk of distant metastasis, which will finally cause death. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NACT) of various cycles before radical radiotherapy on distant metastasis and survival of patients with stage N2-3 diseases.Methods: In this study, a total of 1,164 consecutive patients with non-metastatic N2-3 NPC were recruited and prospectively observed. Then 231 patients who received NACT of 4 cycles(NACT=4 group) were matched 1:2:1 to 462 patients treated with NACT of 2 cycles(NACT=2 group) and 231 patients treated without NACT(NACT=0 group), according to age, histological subtype, N stage and NACT regimen. Five candidate variables(sex, T stage, concurrent chemotherapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy and cycle number of NACT) were analyzed for their association with patients' survival.Results: After matching, the overall survival(OS), disease-free survival(DFS), local-recurrence-free survival(RFS) and distant-metastasis-free survival(MFS) of the NACT=4 group(89.2%, 81.0%, 83.3% and 84.8%,respectively) were better than those of the NACT=2 group(83.3%, 72.5%, 81.2% and 77.9%, respectively) and the NACT=0 group(74.0%, 63.2%, 74.0% and 68.8%, respectively). 15Molecular phylogeny and species delimitation of Stachyuraceae: Advocating a herbarium specimen-based phylogenomic approach in resolving species boundaries显示文摘Species concept and delimitation are fundamental to taxonomic and evolutionary studies.Both inadequate informative sites in the molecular data and limited taxon sampling have often led to poor phylogenetic resolution and incorrect species delineation.Recently,the whole chloroplast genome sequences from extensive herbarium specimen samples have been shown to be ffective to amend the problem.Stachyuraceae are a small family consisting of only one genus Stachyurus of six to 16 species.However,species delimitation in Stachyurus has been highly controversial because of few and generally unstable morphological characters used for cassfcation.In this study,we sampled 69 individuals of seven species(each with at least three individual)covering the entire taxonomlc dlversity,geographlc range,and morphological varlation of Stachyurus from her barium specimens for genome wide plastid gene sequencing to address species delineation in the genus.We obtained high quality DNAS from specimens using a repently developed DNA reconstruction technique.We first assembled four whole chloroplast genome sequences.Based on the chloroplast genome and one nuclear ribosomal DNA sequence of Stachyunus,we designed primers for multiplex polymerase chain reaction and high throughput sequencing of 44 plastid loci for species of Stachyurus,Data of these chloroplast DNA and nuclear ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer sequences were used for phylogenetic analyses.The phylogenetic results showed that the Japanese species Stachyurus praecox Siebold&Zucc.was sister to the rest in China's Mainland,which indicated a typical Sino-Japanese distribution pattern.Based on diagnostic morphological characters,dlstinct distrbutional range,and monophyly of each clade,we redefined seven species for Stachyurus fllowving an integrative specles concept,and revised the taxonomy of the family based on previous reports and specimens,in particular the type specimens.Furthermore,our divergence time estimation results suggested that Stachyuraceae split from its sister group Crossosomataceae from the New World at ca.54.29 Mya,but extant species of Stachyuraceae started their diversifcation only recently at ca.6.85 Mya.Diversification time of Stachyurus in China's Mainland was estimated to be ca.4.45 Mya.This research has provided an example of using the herbarium specimen based phylogenomic approach in resolving species boundaries in a taxonomically dificult genus.Jun-Xia Su Cong-Cong Dong Yan-Ting Niu Li-Min Lu Chao xu Bing Liu ShiLiang Zhou An-Ming Lu Yu-Ping Zhu Jun Wen Zhi-Duan Chen 2020Journal of Systematics and Evolution2020,58,5:2
16Evidence for charge and spin density waves in single crystals of La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(7) and La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(6)显示文摘Charge and spin orders are intimately related to superconductivity in copper oxide superconductors.Elucidation of the competing orders in various nickel oxide compounds is crucial,given the fact that superconductivity has been discovered in Nd_(0.8)Sr_(0.2)NiO_(2)films.Herein,we report structural,electronic transport,magnetic,and thermodynamic characterizations of single crystals of La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(7)and La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(6).La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(7)is metallic with mixed Ni^(2+)and Ni^(3+)valent states.Resistivity measurements yield two transition-like kinks at~110 and 153 K.The kink at 153 K is further revealed from magnetization and specific heat measurements,indicative of the formation of charge and spin density waves.La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(6)single crystals obtained from the topochemical reduction of La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(7)are insulating and show an anomaly at~176 K on magnetic susceptibility.The transition-like behaviors of La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(7)and La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(6)are analogous to those observed in La_(4)Ni_(3)O_(10) and La_(4)Ni_(3)O_(8),suggesting that charge and spin density waves are a common feature in the ternary La-Ni-O system with mixed-valent states of nickel.Zengjia Liu Hualei Sun Mengwu Huo Xiaoyan Ma Yi Ji Enkui Yi Lisi Li Hui Liu Jia Yu Ziyou Zhang Zhiqiang Chen Feixiang Liang Hongliang Dong Hanjie Guo Dingyong Zhong Bing Shen Shiliang Li Meng Wang 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,1:2
17Association of human leukocyte antigen-DR-DQ-DP haplotypes with the risk of hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Aim:Genetic polymorphisms of human leukocyte antigen(HLA)class II molecules are associated with chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection.We aimed to investigate the impacts of HLA-II haplotypes on viral evolution and the risks of HBV-caused liver diseases.Methods:HLA-DR-DQ-DP haplotypes were estimated in 1210 healthy controls,296 HBV clearance subjects,301 asymptomatic hepatitis B surface antigen carriers,770 chronic hepatitis B patients,443 HBV-related liver cirrhosis(LC)patients,and 1037 HBV-related hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients.HBV mutations were determined by sequencing.The associations of HLA-DR-DQ-DP haplotypes with viral mutations and the risks of liver diseases were assessed by multivariate logistic regression.Results:Compared to HBV-free subjects,the haplotypes CCAACG,CCGACG,TCAATA,and TCGATA were associated with decreased HCC risk,with an odds ratio(OR)[95%confidence interval(CI)]of 0.62(0.40-0.95),0.60(0.39-0.92),0.73(0.54-0.98),and 0.58(0.42-0.78),respectively.CCAACG,CCGACG,and TCAATA were significantly associated with decreased frequencies of the HCC-risk HBV mutations:preS1 deletion,APOBECsignature HBV mutations in the core promoter and preS regions,A51C/T,G104C/T,and G146C/T.TCGATA and TTAACG were associated with increased LC risk,with an OR(95%CI)of 1.54(1.03-2.30)and 2.23(1.50-3.33),respectively.However,TCGATA and TTAACG were not consistently associated with the cirrhosis-risk HBV mutations.Conclusion:CCAACG,CCGACG,and TCAATA are inversely associated with HCC risk,possibly because they are involved in creating an immune microenvironment attenuating the generation of HCC-risk HBV mutations.TCGATA and TTAACG might predispose the polarity of immunity towards Th17 isotype related to LC.Yifan Chen Jiansheng Lin Yang Deng Wenbin Liu Zishuai Li Xinyu Zhou Shiliang Cai Rui Pu Jianhua Yin Xiaojie Tan Jun Zhao Xue Han Guangwen Cao 2022Hepatoma Research2022,8,1:2

20Overexpression of amplified in breast cancer 1 (AIB1) gene promotes lung adenocarcinoma aggressiveness in vitro and in vivo by upregulating C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4显示文摘Background:We previously found that overexpression of the gene known as amplified in breast cancer 1(AIB1)was associated with lymph node metastasis and poor prognosis in patients with lung adenocarcinoma.However,the role of AIB1 in that malignancy remains unknown.The present study aimed to investigate the function of AIB1 in the process of lung adenocarcinoma cell metastasis.Methods:A series of in vivo and in vitro assays were performed to elucidate the function of AIB1,while real-time PCR and Western blotting were utilized to identify the potential downstream targets of AIB1 in the process of lung adenocarcinoma metastasis.Rescue experiments and in vitro assays were performed to investigate whether the invasive-ness of AIB1-induced lung adenocarcinoma was mediated by C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4(CXCR4).Results:The ectopic overexpression of AIB1 in lung adenocarcinoma cells substantially enhanced cell migration and invasive abilities in vitro and tumor metastasis in vivo,whereas the depletion of AIB1 expression substantially inhibited lung adenocarcinoma cell migration and invasion.CXCR4 was identified as a potential downstream target of AIB1 in lung adenocarcinoma.The knockdown of AIB1 greatly reduced CXCR4 gene expression at both the transcription and protein levels,whereas the knockdown of CXCR4 in cells with AIB1 ectopic overexpression diminished AIB1-induced migration and invasion in vitro and tumor metastasis in vivo.Furthermore,we found a significant positive association between the expression of AIB1 and CXCR4 in lung adenocarcinoma patients(183 cases),and the co-overexpression of AIB1 and CXCR4 predicted the poorest prognosis.Conclusions:These findings suggest that AIB1 promotes the aggressiveness of lung adenocarcinoma in vitro and in vivo by upregulating CXCR4 and that it might be usable as a novel prognostic marker and/or therapeutic target for this disease.Liru He Haixia Deng Shiliang Liu Jiewei Chen Binkui Li Chenyuan Wang Xin Wang Yiguo Jiang Ningfang Ma Mengzhong Liu Dan Xie 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:2
