2A novel tomato SUMO E_3 ligase,SlSIZ_1,confers drought tolerance in transgenic tobacco显示文摘SUMOylation is an important post-translational modification process that regulates different cellular functions in eukaryotes.SIZ/PIAS-type SAP and Miz1(SIZ_1) proteins exhibit SUMO E_3 ligase activity,which modulates SUMOylation.However,SIZ_1 in tomato has been rarely investigated.In this study,a tomato SIZ_1 gene(Sl SIZ_1)was isolated and its molecular characteristics and role in tolerance to drought stress are described.Sl SIZ_1 was upregulated by cold,sodium chloride(Na Cl),polyethylene glycol(PEG),hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2) and abscisic acid(ABA),and the corresponding proteins were localized in the nucleus.The expression of Sl SIZ_1 in Arabidopsis thaliana(Arabidopsis) siz1-2 mutants partially complemented the phenotypes of dwarf,cold sensitivity and ABA hypersensitivity.Sl SIZ_1 also exhibited the activity of SUMO E_3 ligase to promote the accumulation of SUMO conjugates.Under drought stress,the ectopic expression of Sl SIZ_1 in transgenic tobacco lines enhanced seed germination and reduced the accumulation of reactive oxygen species.SlSIZ_1 overexpression conferred the plants with improved growth,high free proline content,minimal malondialdehyde accumulation and increased accumulation of SUMO conjugates.Sl SIZ_1 is a functional homolog of Arabidopsis SIZ_1 with SUMO E_3 ligase activity.Therefore,overexpression of Sl SIZ_1 enhanced the tolerance of transgenic tobacco to drought stress.Song Zhang Kunyang Zhuang Shiju Wang Jinlian Lv Na'na Ma Qingwei Meng 2017Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2017,59,2:7
3The complete mitochondrial genomes sequences of Asio flammeus and Asio otus and comparative analysis显示文摘The complete mitochondrial genomes of Asio flammeus and Asio otus were se- quenced and found to span 18858 bp and 18493 bp, respectively. It is surprising to find the for- mer to be the largest among all avian mitochondrial genomes sequenced so far. The two ge- nomes have very similar gene order with that of Gallus gallus, neither contains the pseudo con- trol region, but both have a single extra base, namely Cytidine, at position 174 in ND3 gene. The control regions of Asio flammeus and Asio otus’ mitochondrial genomes span 3288 bp and 2926 bp respectively, which are the longest among vertebrates except for Myxine glutinosa and con- tribute to the large size of two genomes. The 3′end of the control region of Asio flammeus and Asio otus contains many tandemly repeated sequences, which are highly similar to a putative control element, i.e. Mt5, and may form stable stem-loop secondary structures. Such repeated sequences probably play an important role in regulating transcription and replication of mito- chondrial genome. 4A new scheme for identifying free surface particles in improved SPH显示文摘The present paper proposes a new scheme for identifying free surface particles in an improved SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics). With the development of the SPH, free surface identification becomes a key challenge in free surface flow simulations, especially for violent breaking water waves. According to numerical tests, existing free surface identified schemes are not reliable for weakly compressible SPH when violent waves are modeled. The new free surface identification scheme suggested here considers changes in density ratio and three auxiliary functions. Although this new scheme originates from a scheme for another meshfree method (MLPG_R method), it includes several improvements, especially developed for the improved SPH. 5Organic mulching promotes soil organic carbon accumulation to deep soil layer in an urban plantation forest显示文摘Background:Soil organic carbon(SOC)is important for soil quality and fertility in forest ecosystems.Labile SOC fractions are sensitive to environmental changes,which reflect the impact of short-term internal and external management measures on the soil carbon pool.Organic mulching(OM)alters the soil environment and promotes plant growth.However,little is known about the responses of SOC fractions in rhizosphere or bulk soil to OM in urban forests and its correlation with carbon composition in plants.Methods:A one-year field experiment with four treatments(OM at 0,5,10,and 20 cm thicknesses)was conducted in a 15-year-old Ligustrum lucidum plantation.Changes in the SOC fractions in the rhizosphere and bulk soil;the carbon content in the plant fine roots,leaves,and organic mulch;and several soil physicochemical properties were measured.The relationships between SOC fractions and the measured variables were analysed.Results:The OM treatments had no significant effect on the SOC fractions,except for the dissolved organic carbon(DOC).OM promoted the movement of SOC to deeper soil because of the increased carbon content in fine roots of subsoil.There were significant correlations between DOC and microbial biomass carbon and SOC and easily oxidised organic carbon.The OM had a greater effect on organic carbon fractions in the bulk soil than in the rhizosphere.The thinnest(5 cm)mulching layers showed the most rapid carbon decomposition over time.The time after OM had the greatest effect on the SOC fractions,followed by soil layer.Conclusions:The frequent addition of small amounts of organic mulch increased SOC accumulation in the present study.OM is a potential management model to enhance soil organic matter storage for maintaining urban forest productivity.Xiaodan Sun Gang Wang Qingxu Ma Jiahui Liao Dong Wang Qingwei Guan Davey L.Jones 2021Forest Ecosystems2021,8,1:2

7The Impact of Atmospheric Deposition of Cadmium on Dominant Algal Species in the East China Sea显示文摘Cadmium(Cd) mainly derived from anthropogenic emissions can be transported through atmospheric pathway to marine ecosystem,affecting the phytoplankton community and primary productivity.In this study,we identified the toxicity threshold of Cd for phytoplankton under seawater conditions of the coastal East China Sea(ECS) through both laboratory and in situ mesocosm incubation experiments.The mesocosm experiment showed that Cd in low concentration(0.003 μg per μg chl a) was conducive to the growth of natural community and increased chl a productivity.In high concentration(0.03 μg per μg chl a) Cd acted as an inhibiting factor which decreased the total chl a productivity.The diatom community was found to be more sensitive to Cd toxicity than dinoflagellate,as the low concentration Cd showed toxicity to diatom but enhanced dinoflagellate growth.We noticed that the soluble Cd estimated from atmosphere deposition to the coastal ECS was below the toxicity threshold and the Cd deposition might promote phytoplankton growth in this region.In our laboratory experiments,adding Cd,similar to aerosol deposition,stimulated the growth of both dominant algal species Prorocentrum donghaiense Lu(dinoflagellate) and Skeletonema costatum(diatom).Adding Cd on a higher level inhibited the growth of both the species,but Skeletonema costatum seemed obviously more sensitive to toxicity.This indicates the potential impact of atmospheric deposition Cd on phytoplankton community succession in the ECS.QUAN Qiwei CHEN Ying MA Qingwei WANG Fujiang MENG Xi WANG Bo 2016Journal of Ocean University of China2016,15,2:1
8Polybenzimidazole functionalized electrolyte with Li-wetting and self-fluorination functionalities for practical Li metal batteries显示文摘Rough Li plating,low ionic conductivity,and low thermal stability of conventional electrolytes post-primary challenges for achieving reliable high-capacity rechargeable lithium batteries,for which lithiummetal is frequently proposed as themost promising anode material.Conventional low-polarity commercial polypropylene/polyethylene separators fail to support the application of high-energy-density Li anodes due to their rigid physicochemical properties and the high reactivity of Li metal,leading to fatal dendrite formation and vigorous exothermic reaction with electrolytes.Herein,we develop a Li-wetting,flame-retardant binary polymer electrolyte by functionalizing poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)separators with nonflammable polybenzimidazole(PBI)to build safe room-temperature solid-state electrolyte membranes.A dendrite-free LiFePO4 cell with the solid polymer electrolyte(SPE)delivers a discharge capacity of 127 mAh g^(-1) at 25℃ with a capacity retention of 87.5%after 500 cycles at 0.5℃(0.15 mA cm^(-2)).Phase-field simulations and density functional theory calculations demonstrate that the negatively charged benzimidazole chains of PBI own superior affinity to lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide(LiTFSI),and shares overlapping electron density with Li anode,giving rise to accelerated Li^(+)conduction at room temperature and uniform Li electrodeposition at the electrolyte/Li metal interface.The SPE is also flame-retardant since heat-resistant polytetrafluoroethylene and a dense,heat-blocking graphitized carbon layer are formed in intense heat throughdehydrogenation/fluorination of PVDF under the catalysis of Lewis base imidazole rings and the decomposition of benzimidazole rings in PBI.No such fire-resistant mechanism is ever reported in conventional electrolytes.Dongjiang Chen Yuanpeng Liu Chuan Xia Yupei Han Qingwei Sun Xuchang Wang Wei Chen Xian Jian Weiqiang Lv Jianyi Ma Weidong He 2022InfoMat2022,4,5:1

13Effects of Zhichan powder on signal transduction and apoptosis-associated gene expression in the substantia nigra of Parkinson's disease rats显示文摘Previous studies have shown that Zhichan powder elevated immunity and suppressed oxidation in mice. Rat models of Parkinson's disease were induced by stereotaxically injecting 6-hydroxydopamine into the substantia nigra. The rat models were intragastrically treated with Zhichan powder, which is composed of milkvetch root, ginseng, bunge swallowwort root, himalayan teasel root, Magnolia officinalis, Ligustrum lucidum Ait. and szechwan lovage rhizome. Immunohistochemistry and reverse transcription-PCR results demonstrated that mRNA and protein expression of tumor necrosis factor receptor 1, Fas, caspase-8, cytochrome C, Bax, caspase-3, and p53 significantly increased, but Bcl-2 expression significantly decreased in the substantia nigra of rats with Parkinson's disease. Following Zhichan powder administration, mRNA and protein expression of tumor necrosis factor receptor 1, Fas, caspase-8, cytochrome C, Bax, caspase-3, and p53 diminished, but Bcl-2 expression increased in the rat substantia nigra. 15Exponential isothermal amplification coupled MALDI-TOF MS for microRNAs detection显示文摘Micro RNAs(mi RNAs) have attracted significant attention in biomedical research and clinical diagnosis.However, due to their inherent characteristics of low abundance and the high complexity of corresponding biological matrices, simultaneous detection of multiple mi RNAs at low abundance is still a challenge.In this work, a method coupling exponential amplification reaction(EXPAR) with matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry(MALDI-TOF MS) is developed for label-free and simultaneous detection of multiple mi RNAs. The assay can be performed under isothermal conditions in a single reaction tube, and finished in less than 30 min. It exhibits good quantification ability and with attomolar-level sensitivity for mi RNAs detection. It also shows high specificity to distinguish mi RNAs at single-nucleotide resolution. We used the method to detect the mi RNA-21, let-7a, mi RNA-100, and mi RNA-125b in samples of spiked human serum and breast cancer cells(i.e., MCF-7, MDA-MB-231 and SK-BR-3). 17Site Selection of Land Consolidation Project Based on Farmland Quality Evaluation in Yanjin County of Henan Province显示文摘In order to explore the effects of farmland quality evaluation on site selection of land consolidation projects,the methods of agricultural land use classification were used. Taking several project areas in Yanjin County of Henan Province as examples,the farmland quality before and after land consolidation projects was evaluated. The results indicate that under the conditions of reasonable site selection,the implementation of land consolidation projects can effectively improve the farmland quality and increase the grain productivity. Therefore,before the site selection for land consolidation projects,it is recommended to carry out pre-evaluation of farmland quality,and guide the project implementation according to the evaluation results. 18Molecular cloning,expression pattern and phylogenetic analysis of Guanine nucleotide exchange factor Vav2 in lamprey,Lampetra japonica显示文摘The Guanine nucleotide exchange factor Vav2(Vav2) is a member of the Vav family that serves as an important regulators for the Rho family of Ras-related GTPases. In the current study, an ortholog(Lj-Vav2) of Vav2 was identified in the lamprey(Lampetra japonica). To elucidate the phylogenetic relationship of Vav2, the metazoan genome databases were analyzed to mine the ortholog of Vav. It was found that Vav2 genes were only existed in vertebrates and Lj-Vav2 was the original one found in agnathans. The evolutionary dynamics of conserved motifs of Vav2 were explored using combined amino acid sequence as markers, and it is revealed that the Calponin homology(CH) domain, Dbl-homologous(DH) domain, Pleckstrin homology(PH) domain, Cysteine-rich(C1)domains, Src homology 3(SH3) domains and Src homology 2(SH2) domain were conserved throughout the Vav2 gene family in vertebrates during gene evolution. Relative quantitative real-time PCR analysis showed that the LjVav2 was distributed in the heart, kidney, supraneural myeloid body, liver, gill and lymphocyte-like cells. The LjVav2 was found to be expressed in these tissues, and the level of which was upregulated in lymphocyte-like cells after the animal was stimulated with LPS. These results indicated that the Lj-Vav2 might be involved in the immune response of lymphocyte-like cells in lamprey. 19Exploring HONO formation and its role in driving secondary pollutants formation during winter in the North China Plain显示文摘Daytime HONO photolysis is an important source of atmospheric hydroxyl radicals(OH).Knowledge of HONO formation chemistry under typical haze conditions,however,is still limited.In the Multiphase chemistry experiment in Fogs and Aerosols in the North China Plain in 2018,we investigated the wintertime HONO formation and its atmospheric implications at a rural site Gucheng.Three different episodes based on atmospheric aerosol loading levels were classified:clean periods(CPs),moderately polluted periods(MPPs)and severely polluted periods(SPPs).Correlation analysis revealed that HONO formation via heteroge.neous conversion of NO_(2)was more efficient on aerosol surfaces than on ground,highlighting the important role of aerosols in promoting HONO formation.Daytime HONO budget analysis indicated a large missing source(with an average production rate of 0.66±0.26,0.97±0.47 and 1.45±0.55 ppbV/hr for CPs,MPPs and SPPs,respectively),which strongly correlated with photo-enhanced reactions(NO_(2)heterogeneous reaction and particulate nitrate photolysis).Average OH formation derived from HONO photolysis reached up to(0.92±0.71),(1.75±1.26)and(1.82±1.47)ppbV/hr in CPs,MPPs and SPPs respectively,much higher than that from O3 photolysis(i.e.,(0.004±0.004),(0.006±0.007)and(0.0035±0.0034)ppbV/hr).Such high OH production rates could markedly regulate the atmospheric oxidation capacity and hence promote the formation of secondary aerosols and pollutants.Shaobin Zhang Guo Li Nan Ma Yao He Shaowen Zhu Xihao Pan Wenlin Dong Yanyan Zhang Qingwei Luo Jeannine Ditas Uwe Kuhn Yuxuan Zhang Bin Yuan Zelong Wang Peng Cheng Juan Hong Jiangchuan Tao Wanyun Xu Ye Kuang Qiaoqiao Wang Yele Sun Guangsheng Zhou Yafang Cheng Hang Su 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,10:0
20Practice and principle of traditional Chinese medicine for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19显示文摘Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has played an important role in the prevention and treatment of Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)epidemic in China.The integration of Chinese and Western medicine is an important feature of Chinese COVID-19 prevention and treatment.According to a series of evidence-based studies,TCM can reduce the infection rate of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 in high-risk groups.For patients with mild and moderate forms of COVID-19,TCM can relieve the related signs and symptoms,shorten the period of nucleic-acid negative conversion,and reduce conversion rate to the severe form of the disease.For COVID-19 patients with severe and critical illnesses,TCM can improve inflammatory indicators and blood oxygen saturation,shorten the hospital stay,and reduce the mortality rate.During recovery,TCM can improve patients’symptoms,promote organ function recovery,boost the quality of patients’life,and reduce the nucleic-acid repositive conversion rate.A series of mechanism research studies revealed that capability of TCM to treat COVID-19 through antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects,immune regulation,and protection of organ function via a multicomponent,multitarget,and multipathway approach.Linhua Zhao Chuanxi Tian Yingying Yang Huifang Guan Yu Wei Yuxin Zhang Xiaomin Kang Ling Zhou Qingwei Li Jing Ma Li Wan Yujiao Zheng Xiaolin Tong 2023Frontiers of Medicine2023,17,6:0
