1Synthesis and characterization of an environmentally friendly PHBV/PEG copolymer network as a phase change material显示文摘Novel environmentally friendly poly(hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate) and poly(ethylene glycol) (PHBV/PEG) copolymer networks were synthesized through free-radical solution polymerization with PHBV diacrylate (PHBVDA) and polyethylene glycol diacrylate (PEGDA) as macromers. The molecular structure of PHBV/PEG copolymer network was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance ( 1 H NMR). The morphology of the PHBV/PEG copolymer network was characterized by polarization optical microscopy. Thermal energy storage properties, thermal reliability and thermal stability were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis. The results indicated that the PHBV/PEG copolymer network hindered the growth of PEG crystalline segments or PHBV segments. PHBV/PEG copolymer network had a higher latent heat enthalpy, which didn't reduce with the components of PHBV increased. Moreover, PHBV/PEG copolymer network still had good thermal stability even at 300 ℃. 2Enhanced flame-retardant performance of poly(lactic acid)(PLA) composite by using intrinsically phosphorus-containing PLA显示文摘The intrinsically phosphorous-containing flame-retardant poly(lactic acid)(P-PLA) was synthesized through the chain extension of L-lactide and 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide(DOPO) derivative, then P-PLA was melt blended with neat PLA to produce flame-retardant PLA composite(FR-PLA). The flame-retardant properties of FR-PLAs were investigated by Limiting Oxygen Index(LOI), UL-94, and Cone Calorimeter Tests, the results indicated that the flame-retardant properties of PLA composites were significantly improved with the addition of P-PLA due to its excellent ability to carbonize and dilute combustible gases. The LOI value of FRPLA10 composite(consisting of 90 wt% neat PLA and 10 wt% P-PLA) increased from 20.5 to 27.8 and UL-94 rating reached up to V-1, the peak heat release rate and total heat release of FR-PLA composite were lower than those of neat PLA. The flame-retardant mechanism of FR-PLA depended on both condensed and gaseous phases,which was confirmed by the FTIR, Raman and TG-FTIR. Besides, the tensile strength of FR-PLA10 slightly decreased from 72.4 to 61.8 MPa, which met the requirements of most practical applications. 3Intriguing anti-superbug Cu2O@ZrP hybrid nanosheet with enhanced antibacterial performance and weak cytotoxicity显示文摘In view of it's strong antibacterial function and minor toxicity,cuprous oxide (Cu2O) is frequently used in various broad-spectrum antibacterial reagents.Nonetheless the undesirable effects of superbugs still remain challenging.In this research,a chemical deposition approach is used to prepare a Cu2O@ZrP composite with nanosheet configuration demonstrating excellent dispersibility and antibacterial traits.From systematic analysis,it was inffered that the content of copper in the nanosheet was about 57-188 mg/g while the average thickness of the nanosheets Cu2O formed on ZrP is approximately 0.8 nm.The results of the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) revealed that an extremely low loading of Cu2O in Cu2O@ZrP nanosheet can lead to exceptional antibacterial activity.Examined on two various superbugs;i.e.methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant enterococcus (VRE),the composite nanosheet reagent performed over 99% microbial reduction.More intesetingly,the cell growth rate of the Cu2O@ZrP nanosheet was determined to be 20% lower than that of the neat Cu2O,manifesting a weaker cytotoxicity.This unique hybrid nanosheet with intriguing anti-superbug performance promises highly efficient protection for the fabrics,battledress,and medical textiles.Jialiang Zhou Hengxue Xiang Fatemeh Zabihi Senlong Yu Bin Sun Meifang Zhu 2019Nano Research2019,12,6:7

5Structural control of silica aerogel fibers for methylene blue removal显示文摘The development of efficient adsorbents is significant for the miniaturization and cost reduction of water purifying facility. In our previous study, a new kind of silica aerogel fibers(SAFs) with hierarchical structure and hollow structure were developed, which shows outstanding mass transport property and adsorption performance. Herein, we further control and study the hierarchical structure and hollow structure of silica aerogel fibers by changing the sulfuric acid concentration of ageing bath and spinning speed. For removing methylene blue, A0 W120 SAFs sample, with DI water as ageing bath and a winding speed of 120 mm/s,presents the best mass transport property and adsorption performance, as they possess larger pore sizes in the outer layer, thinner fiber wall and higher degree of hollowness. 6Progress and Perspective of Antiviral Protective Material显示文摘Public health events caused by viruses pose a significant risk to humans worldwide.From December 2019 till now,the rampant novel 2019 coronavirus(SAR-CoV-2)has hugely impacted China and over world.Regarding a commendable means of protection,mask technology is relatively mature,though most of the masks cannot effectively resist the viral infections.The key material of the mask is a non-woven material,which makes the barrier of virus through filtration.Due to the lack of the ability to kill the viruses,masks are prone to cross-infection and become an additional source of infection after being discarded.If the filteration and antiviral effects can be simultaneously integrated into the mask,it will be more effcient,work for a longer time and create less difficulty in post-treatment.This mini-review presents the advances in antiviral materials,different mechanisms of their activity,and their potential applications in personal protective fabrics.Furthermore,the article addresses the future challenges and directions of mask technology.Jialiang Zhou Zexu Hu Fatemeh Zabihi Zhigang Chen Meifang Zhu 2020Advanced Fiber Materials2020,2,3:4
7High thermal stability Cu_(2)O@OZrP micro-nano hybrids for melt-spun excellent antibacterial activity polyester fibers显示文摘Public safety incidents caused by bacterial infections have attracted widespread attention towards antibacterial textiles(fibers,fabrics,etc.).Nevertheless,it is still challenging to efficiently load inorganic nano-antibacterial materials in polymer fibers.In this work,zirconium phosphate(ZrP,layered micro-nano materials)was utilized as a micro-nano carrier.The octadecyl triphenyl phosphonium bromide(OTP)was intercalated between the ZrP sheets by the ion exchange method to improve the carrier-polymer compatibility and the antibacterial performance.Through in-situ chemical reduction,the ultra-small nano-sized cuprous oxide(Cu_(2)O<5 nm)was loaded on the outer surface of ZrP to realize the uniform and stable dispersion of the Cu_(2)O on the carrier and improve the antibacterial performance.The ZrP nanosheets loaded with Cu_(2)O and OTP(Cu_(2)O@OZrP)had excellent antibacterial properties,and the antibacterial rate against E.coli,S.aureus and C.albicans was more than 99%.The intercalation amount of OTP in Cu_(2)O@OZrP can reach 16%,and the thermal stability was excellent and a significant increase in the Zeta potential.Indeed,the decomposition temperature was greater than 350℃,which was suitable for high-temperature melt processing of polymers.Consequently,we prepared PET/Cu_(2)O@OZrP fibers using polyethylene glycol terephthalate(PET),which accounts for 70%of the total chemical fibers,as the fiber matrix.PET/Cu_(2)O@OZrP fibers exhibited excellent mechanical property and antibacterial performance when the content of Cu_(2)O@OZrP was only 0.2%.The antibacterial rate against five types of bacteria including super bacteria(MRSA,VRE)was more than 99%.Jialiang Zhou Yaping Wang Weinan Pan Hengxue Xiang Peng Li Zhe Zhou Meifang Zhu 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,22:4
8Effect of environmental C/N ratio on activities of lignin-degrading enzymes produced by Phanerochaete chrysosporium显示文摘Lignin-degrading enzymes secreted by white rot fungi play an important role in the degradation of lignin and persistent organic pollutants(POPs).In this study,effect of environmental C/N ratio on the activities of lignin-degrading enzymes,lignin peroxide(Li P)and manganese peroxidase(Mn P),produced by Phanerochaete chrysosporium,a white rot fungus,was investigated.Glucose was used as C source,and ammonium tartrate of different concentrations was used as N source to provide different C/N ratios.Relationships between Li P and Mn P activities and environmental C/N ratio were explored.The results showed that the higher the N source concentration,the faster the mycelium pellets aged.The faster the mycelium dry weight increased,the higher the Li P and Mn P activities.A high C/N ratio was a necessary condition for the secretion of Li P or Mn P.In addition,mycelium dry weight essentially affected enzyme activities.In the 122 C/N ratio and 50 C/N ratio treatments,mycelium dry weight essentially affected Mn P activity and both Li P and Mn P activities,respectively.Saihua HUANG Deyin HUANG Qitang WU Meifang HOU Xiaoyan TANG Jian ZHOU 2020Pedosphere2020,30,2:3
9Influence of acetone on nanostructure and electrochemical properties of interfacial synthesized polyaniline nanofibers显示文摘The growth of polyaniline(PANI) nano fi bers through interfacial polymerization can be well controlled by adding a small amount of acetone in the water/chloroform system. It was found that the polymerization rate became slower in the presence of acetone, yielding PANI nano fi bers with larger aspect ratios. The in fl uences of the acetone addition on the morphology, microstructure and properties of as-prepared PANI nano fi bers were studied by scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM), ultraviolet–visible spectra(UV–vis), Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) and Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction(XRD), thermogravity analysis(TGA), and electrical and electrochemical measurements. The experimental results showed that PANI nano fi bers prepared by using ammonium persulfate(APS) as an oxidant with acetone exhibited slower growth, the larger ratio of length to diameter, and higher crystallinity(2θ=6℃, 19℃, 26℃) than that without acetone, meanwhile remained larger yield of 11.23% and higher conductivity 1.8*10-2S/cm compared with that obtained by replacing APS with Fe Cl3. 10Integrated dynamic wet spinning of core-sheath hydrogel fibers for optical-to-brain/tissue communications显示文摘Hydrogel optical light-guides have received substantial interest for applications such as deep-tissue biosensors,optogenetic stimulation and photomedicine due to their biocompatibility,(micro)structure control and tissue-like Young’s modulus.However,despite recent developments,large-scale fabrication with a continuous synthetic methodology,which could produce core-sheath hydrogel fibers with the desired optical and mechanical properties suitable for deep-tissue applications,has yet to be achieved.In this study,we report a versatile concept of integrated light-triggered dynamic wet spinning capable of continuously producing core-sheath hydrogel optical fibers with tunable fiber diameters,and mechanical and optical propagation properties.Furthermore,this concept also exhibited versatility for various kinds of core-sheath functional fibers.The wet spinning synthetic procedure and fabrication process were optimized with the rational design of the core/sheath material interface compatibility[core=poly(ethylene glycol diacrylate-co-acrylamide);sheath=Ca-alginate],optical transparency,refractive index and spinning solution viscosity.The resulting hydrogel optical fibers exhibited desirable low optical attenuation(0.18±0.01 d B cm^(-1) with 650 nm laser light),excellent biocompatibility and tissue-like Young’s modulus(<2.60 MPa).The optical waveguide hydrogel fibers were successfully employed for deep-tissue cancer therapy and brain optogenetic stimulation,confirming that they could serve as an efficient versatile tool for diverse deep-tissue therapy and brain optogenetic applications.Guoyin Chen Gang Wang Xinrong Tan Kai Hou Qingshuo Meng Peng Zhao Shun Wang Jiayi Zhang Zhan Zhou Tao Chen Yanhua Cheng D Benjamin S.Hsiao Elsa Reichmanis Meifang Zhu 2021National Science Review2021,8,9:2
11An Endotenon Sheath-Inspired Double-Network Binder Enables Superior Cycling Performance of Silicon Electrodes显示文摘Silicon(Si)has been regarded as an alternative anode material to traditional graphite owing to its higher theoretical capacity(4200 vs.372 m Ah g;).However,Si anodes suffer from the inherent volume expansion and unstable solid electrolyte interphase,thus experiencing fast capacity decay,which hinders their commercial application.To address this,herein,an endotenon sheathinspired water-soluble double-network binder(DNB)is presented for resolving the bottleneck of Si anodes.The as-developed binder shows excellent adhesion,high mechanical properties,and a considerable self-healing capability mainly benefited by its supramolecular hybrid network.Apart from these advantages,this binder also induces a Li;N/Li F-rich solid electrolyte interface layer,contributing to a superior cycle stability of Si electrodes.As expected,the DNB can achieve mechanically more stable Si electrodes than traditional polyacrylic acid and pectin binders.As a result,DNB delivers superior electrochemical performance ofSi/Li half cells and Li Ni;Co;Mn;O;/Si full cells,even with a high loading of Si electrode,to traditional polyacrylic acid and pectin binders.The bioinspired binder design provides a promising route to achieve long-life Si anode-assembled lithium batteries.Meifang Jiang Pengzhou Mu Huanrui Zhang Tiantian Dong Ben Tang Huayu Qiu Zhou Chen Guanglei Cui 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,6:2

13Rebound effect and its decomposition-an analysis based on energy types in China显示文摘Rebound effect derived from energy efficiency improvement has been widely invested.However,most of studies focus on the rebound effect of the energy composite level and neither distinguish nor compare different energy types.We compare the differences in energy saving and energy rebound between primary and secondary energy sources,and further decompose the rebound effect into production rebound part and final demand component.To do so,we add a module for rebound into a comparative state China-CGE model.We design and test two simulation scenarios using the model.In Scenario 1,all production sectors' energy efficiency of using primary energy increases by 5%.In Scenario 2,all production sectors' energy efficiency of using secondary energy increases by 5%.The results show that Scenario 2 leads to more GDP growth and more energy saving.Our scenarios show rebound effects range between 9.6% and 27.9%,and in general are higher when energy efficiency of using primary energy sources is improved.Our decomposition analysis shows that improving energy efficiency in production sectors would stimulates energy use of final demand.Indeed,the consumption side has significant contribution to rebound in secondary energy use,especially in crude oil and gas.This study reveals that improving efficiency of using secondary energy is better than improving that of primary energy,both in terms of economic impact and energy rebound.And complementary policies that prevent energy services prices from falling too much can be adopted to reduce rebound.Controlling residential energy use could also be effective in reducing rebound,this has particular implication to economies in which residential energy consumption are far from saturation.Yu Liu Meifang Zhou Shenghao Feng Yi Wang 2016Chinese Journal of Population,Resources and Environment2016,16,4:1
14A polymer electrolyte with a thermally induced interfacial ion-blocking function enables safety-enhanced lithium metal batteries显示文摘Lithium metal batteries(LMBs)have recently been revitalized as one of the most promising electrochemical energy storage systems,owing to the ultrahigh specific capacity(3860 mAh g^(-1))and ultralow potential(-3.04 V vs.standard hydrogen electrode)of lithium metal anodes.However,safety hazards originating from lithium dendrite growth and pulverization during cycling and thermal stimulation present significant challenges to the practical application of LMBs.To address this issue,we have developed an in situ polymer electrolyte with thermally induced interfacial ion-blocking ability.We demonstrate that the repolymerization and deposition of residual vinylene carbonate in the as-prepared electrolyte under thermal abuse predominantly results in thermally induced ion blocking at the solid electrolyte interface,thus achieving superior LMB safety.The developed polymer electrolyte also yields superior cyclability in LMBs.This design philosophy provides a good paradigm for improving the safety of LMBs.Huanrui Zhang Lang Huang Hantao Xu Xiaohu Zhang Zhou Chen Chenhui Gao Chenglong Lu Zhi Liu Meifang Jiang Guanglei Cui 2022eScience2022,2,2:1

18High rate deposition of microcrystalline silicon films by high-pressure radio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD)显示文摘Hydrogenated microcrystalline silicon (μc-Si:H) thin films were prepared by high- pressure radio-frequency (13.56 MHz) plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (rf-PECVD) with a screened plasma. The deposition rate and crystallinity varying with the deposition pressure, rf power, hydrogen dilution ratio and electrodes distance were systematically studied. By optimizing the deposition parameters the device quality μc-Si:H films have been achieved with a high deposition rate of 7.8 /s at a high pressure. 19Confinement fluorescence effect of an aggregation-induced emission luminogen in crystalline polymer显示文摘Despite the impressive progress of stimuli-responsive fluorescent materials,little is known about the influence of confinement created by crystalline polymer over the fluorescence properties of fluorescent molecules.The effects of confinement on the fluorescence of an aggregation-induced emission luminogen(AIEgen)are investigated using computational simulations,which reveal that the confined space induces the AIEgens to take a more planar conformation,resulting in a red-shifted emission spectrum.With this property,the study is extended to explore the confinement generated by various polymer crystalline forms,and it is shown that different fluorescence colors are activated.This confinement fluorescence effect is attributed to the different spatial dimensions of the polymer amorphous layer between lamellar crystals where the AIEgens are located.These results indicate the immediate association between crystalline structure and fluorescence signals,activating unprecedented photophysical properties of luminescent materials,and also providing the possibility for crystalline structure visualization,it is important for the many polymer crystallization processes occurring in the materials processing.Lan Zhou Linlin Zheng Xiaoxiao Yu Mengyue Gao Chengjian Xu Yifan Ge Tianxiang Bai Jin Wen Yanhua Cheng Meifang Zhu 2023Aggregate2023,4,5:0
20Thermal depolymerization mechanisms of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate)显示文摘Thermal degradation processes and decomposition mechanisms of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate)(PHBV) were investigated by using thermal gravity analysis(TGA), Gel permeation chromatography(GPC), elemental analyzer, pyrolysis-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(Py GC-MS) and ~1H nuclear magnetic resonance(~1H NMR). The degradation activation energy was calculated via the dependence of residual mass on isothermal temperature.~1H NMR and Py GC-MS were used to investigate the chemical structure and component proportion of volatile gases and degradation residues which were produced by thermal decomposition, and to infer the process of macromolecular chain scission. Besides, the influence of the factors, such as outfield atmosphere, residual metal ions, on the degradation behaviors of PHBV was also studied.
