| 1 | Medical expenditures for colorectal cancer diagnosis and treatment: A 10-year high-level-hospital-based multicenter retrospective survey in China, 2002-2011显示文摘Objective: Colorectal cancer(CRC) causes a substantial burden of disease in China and the evidence of economic burden triggered is fundamental for priority setting. The aim of this survey was to quantify medical expenditures and the time trends for CRC diagnosis and treatment in China.Methods: From 2012 to 2014, a hospital-based multicenter retrospective survey was conducted in 13 provinces across China. For each eligible CRC patient diagnosed from 2002 to 2011, clinical information and expenditure data were extracted using a uniform questionnaire. All expenditure data were reported in Chinese Yuan(CNY)using 2011 values.Results: Of the 14,536 CRC patients included, the average age at diagnosis was 58.2 years and 15.8% were stageI cases. The average medical expenditure per patient was estimated at 37,902 CNY [95 % confidence interval(95%CI): 37,282-38,522], and the annual average increase rate was 9.2% from 2002 to 2011(P for trend <0.001), with a cumulative increase of 2.4 times(from 23,275 CNY to 56,010 CNY). The expenditure per patient in stages Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ were 31,698 CNY, 37,067 CNY, 38,918 CNY and 42,614 CNY, respectively(P<0.001). Expenditure significantly differed within various subgroups. Expenses for drugs contributed the largest proportion(52.6%).Conclusions: These conservative estimates illustrated that medical expenditures for CRC diagnosis and treatment in tertiary hospitals in China were substantial and increased rapidly over the 10 years, with drugs continually being the main expense by 2011. Relatively, medical expenditures are lower for CRC in the earlier stages. | 2 | Synergistic improvement of perovskite film quality for efficient solar cells via multiple chloride salt additives显示文摘Perovskite crystal film quality is critical for obtaining efficient perovskite solar cells. Anti-solvent processing was used for fast crystallization of perovskite precursor film, which can form dense perovskite film.However, the crystals from this method are usually small due to the fast crystal growth process, which could lead to grain boundary recombination. Here, element chloride is introduced to enhance the perovskite layer crystallinity via slowing down the perovskite crystallization process by simultaneous introduction of methylammounium chloride(MACl) and cesium chloride(CsCl) into precursor solution.As a result, we achieve high quality of pin-hole free perovskite film with large crystal size. | 5 | Mg-Fe LDH sealed PEO coating on magnesium for biodegradation control,antibacteria and osteogenesis显示文摘Attempt of developing bio-safety and functional layered double hydroxides(LDHs)modifed plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)coatings,has become a hotspot in the protection of magnesium(Mg)based biomedical implants.In the present work,Mg-Fe LDH flms with different Fe contents were fabricated on PEO coating via a novel two-step method:frstly,the Fe OOH flms were prepared by immersing PEO sample in Fe^(2+)-containing solution,and then Mg-Fe LDH flms were formed by transforming the Fe OOH flms via a hydrothermal treatment in water.The highly-oriented LDH nano-sheets could enhance the anti-corrosion performance of PEO coating,which was proved by the results of electrochemical test,hydrogen evolution and corroded morphology.PEO/Mg-Fe LDH coatings showed a low hemolysis rate(less5%)than PEO coating.In addition,PEO/Mg-Fe LDH coatings were more favorable for cell adhesion and proliferation than PEO coating.Moreover,PEO/Mg-Fe LDH coatings showed good photothermal conversion property,which demonstrated the excellent rapid antibacterial effect under NIR light.In vitro culture of rat bone marrow stem cell(r BMSC)suggested that cells cultured in the extract of PEO/Mg-Fe LDH coatings had a better osteogenic activity.In vivo subcutaneous implantation test revealed that PEO/Mg-Fe LDH coatings exhibited good anti-corrosion and histocompatibility. | Dongdong Zhang Jielong Zhou Feng Peng Ji Tan Xianming Zhang Shi Qian Yuqin Qiao Yu Zhang Xuanyong Liu | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,10: | 3 |
| 6 | Evidence for the paternal mitochondrial DNA in the crucian carp-like fish lineage with hybrid origin显示文摘In terms of taxonomic status,common carp(Cyprinus carpio,Cyprininae)and crucian carp(Carassius auratus,Cyprininae)are different species;however,in this study,a newborn homodiploid crucian carp-like fish(2n=100)(2nNCRC)lineage(F1–F3)was established from the interspecific hybridization of female common carp(2n=100)×male blunt snout bream(Megalobrama amblycephala,Cultrinae,2n=48).The phenotypes and genotypes of 2 n NCRC differed from those of its parents but were closely related to those of the existing diploid crucian carp.We further sequenced the whole mitochondrial(mt)genomes of the 2n NCRC lineage from F1 to F3.The paternal mt DNA fragments were stably embedded in the mt-genomes of F1–F3 generations of 2n NCRC to form chimeric DNA fragments.Along with this chimeric process,numerous base sites of F1–F3 generations of 2 n NCRC underwent mutations.Most of these mutation sites were consistent with the existing diploid crucian carp.Moreover,the mt DNA organization and nucleotide composition of 2n NCRC were more similar to those of the existing diploid crucian carp than those of the parents.The inheritable chimeric DNA fragments and mutant loci in the mt-genomes of different generations of 2nNCRC provided important evidence of the mt DNA change process in the newborn lineage derived from hybridization of different species.Our findings demonstrated for the first time that the paternal mt DNA were transmitted into the mt-genomes of homodiploid lineage,which provided new insights into the existence of paternal mt DNA in the mt DNA inheritance. | Shi Wang Ni Jiao Lu Zhao Meiwen Zhang Pei Zhou Xuexue Huang Fangzhou Hu Conghui Yang Yuqin Shu Wuhui Li Chun Zhang Min Tao Bo Chen Ming Ma Shaojun Liu | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,1: | 2 |

| 8 | Prognostic value of ^(18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography using Deauville criteria in diffuse large B cell lymphoma treated with autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation显示文摘Objective: High-dose chemotherapy(HDC) followed by autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(auto-HSCT) plays an important role in improving outcomes of diffuse large B cell lymphoma(DLBCL) patients.18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose(18 F-FDG) positron emission tomography(PET)/computed tomography(CT) has been widely accepted in response assessment and prediction of prognosis in DLBCL. Here, we report the value of 18 FFDG PET/CT pre-and post-HSCT in predicting outcomes of patients with DLBCL.Methods: DLBCL patients who had PET/CT scan before and after HSCT were included. PET results were interpreted based upon Deauville criteria. The prognostic value of 18 F-FDG PET/CT in auto-HSCT was evaluated.Results: Eighty-four patients were enrolled. In univariate analysis, pre-and post-HSCT PET findings were correlated with 3-year progression-free survival(PFS) [hazard ratio(HR)=4.391, P=0.001; HR=7.607, P<0.001] and overall survival(OS)(HR=4.792, P=0.008; HR=26.138, P<0.001). Patients receiving upfront auto-HSCT after firstline treatment had better outcomes than relapsed/refractory DLBCL patients(3-year PFS, P<0.001; 3-year OS,P<0.001). In the relapsed/refractory patients, pre-and post-HSCT PET findings were also associated with 3-year PFS(P=0.003 vs. P<0.001) and OS(P=0.027 vs. P<0.001). A significant correlation was observed between clinical response to chemotherapy before auto-HSCT and outcomes of patients in the entire cohort(3-year PFS, P<0.001;3-year OS, P<0.001) and in the subgroup of 21 patients with positive pre-HSCT PET(3-year PFS, P=0.084; 3-year OS, P=0.240). A significant association between survival and post-HSCT PET findings was observed in multivariate analysis(HR=5.168, P<0.001).Conclusions: PET results before and after HSCT are useful prognostic factors for DLBCL patients receiving HSCT. | 14 | Longer conserved alpine forests ecosystem exhibits higher stability to climate change on the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Aims Vegetation dynamics are simultaneously regulated by climate change and anthropogenic activities.Since the 1980s,climate has been warming on the Tibetan Plateau(TP)at a rate higher than North Hemisphere average.Anthropogenic activities,including grazing,farming,and urbanization,are also influencing the alpine ecosystem on the TP.Especially,an ensemble of large engineering projects,such as power transported from west to east by State Grid,has been in operation on the TP.While studies disentangling effects of climate and anthropogenic activities interference are still lacking for the forest ecosystems on the TP.The overarching objectives of this study were to separate effects of natural climates and human interferences on forest ecosystem dynamics on the TP.Methods We compared vegetation activities of two typical natural reserves(Gongbu natural reserve,GNR,and Yarlung zangbo river grand canyon natural reserve,YNR)and their surroundings in southeastern Tibet(outside of the natural reserves,ONR)using long-term satel-lite normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)dataset.Linear regression and partial correlation analyses were constructed for the relationship between vegetation activity and climates to evaluate the distinct climate effects on the two natural reserves.Important Findings The two natural reserves were established at different time,which were related to anthropogenic activities impact durations.The results showed that the annual mean NDVI fluctuated between 0.5 and 0.6 in the relatively longer reserved YNR,which was re-markably higher than those in other regions(with NDVI lower than 0.45).The vegetation vigor in the YNR showed neither a sig-nificant temporal trend nor significant relationship with climate.Nevertheless,vegetation vigor exhibited a significant increasing trend during the last three decades(0.012/decade)at the GNR.The inter-decadal analysis turned out positive relationships between vegetation vigor and annual temperature since late 1990s until early 2000s when the GNR was officially established.This study underlined the importance of considering human interference duration when assessing the relationships between vegetation dy-namics and climates. | Jian Li Nan Cong Jiaxing Zu Yuqin Xin Ke Huang Quan Zhou Yaojie Liu Lin Zhou Li Wang Yang Liu Ge Zhang | 2019 | Journal of Plant Ecology2019,12,4: | 1 |
| 15 | Phase I trial of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells for treatment of severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia显示文摘Severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD)is a chronic lung disorder that primarily affects premature babies with extremely low birth weight and involves in multiple organ system;no effective pharmacotherapy for this disease exists,and mortality remains high.Based on the evidence from previous preclinical studies and phase I clinical trials,this study aims to test the safety of intravenous application of a single dose of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells(hUC-MSCs)in patients with severe BPD.The Mesenchymal Stem cells for Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia Treatment(MSBDT)trial is a single center,open-label,dose-escalation phase I clinical trial.Severe BPD patients were enrolled in Children Hospital of Chongqing Medical University,Chongqing,China.The first six patients were treated with low-dose hUC-MSCs(1×10^(6) cells/kg)and the next seven patients were treated with high-dose hUC-MSCs(5×10^(6) cells/kg).This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov,number NCT03558334.No prespecified infusion-associated adverse events,immediate complication,respiratory or cardiovascular compromise were observed during infusion and 24 h after infusion.No significant changes in safety laboratory values were observed.One death event occurred in the low-dose group on study day 10,and one death event occurred in the high-dose group on study day 24,while,after review in detail,the two cases are not believed to be infusion-associated events.In conclusion,intravenous application of a single dose of hUC-MSCs was tolerated in thirteen patients with severe BPD. | Yunqiu Xia Tingyuan Lang Yuqin Niu Xian Wu Ou Zhou Jihong Dai Lei Bao Ke Yang Lin Zou Zhou Fu Gang Geng | 2023 | Genes & Diseases2023,10,2: | 1 |

| 20 | Activity origin and alkalinity effect of electrocatalytic biomass oxidation on nickel nitride显示文摘Electro-oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMFOR)is a promising green approach to realize the conversion of biomass into value-added chemicals.However,considering the complexity of the molecular structure of HMF,an in-depth understanding of the electrocatalytic behavior of HMFOR has rarely been investigated.Herein,the electrocatalytic mechanism of HMFOR on nickel nitride(Ni3 N)is elucidated by operando X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS),in situ Raman,quasi in situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and operando electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS),respectively.The activity origin is proved to be Ni^(2+δ)N(OH)ads generated by the adsorbed hydroxyl group.Moreover,HMFOR on Ni3 N relates to a two-step reaction:Initially,the applied potential drives Ni atoms to lose electrons and adsorb OH-after 1.35 VRHE,giving rise to Ni^(2+δ)N(OH)ads with the electrophilic oxygen;then Ni^(2+δ)N(OH)ads seizes protons and electrons from HMF and leaves as H_(2) O spontaneously.Furthermore,the high electrolyte alkalinity favors the HMFOR process due to the increased active species(Ni^(2+δ)N(OH)ads)and the enhanced adsorption of HMF on the Ni3 N surface.This work could provide an in-depth understanding of the electrocatalytic mechanism of HMFOR on Ni3 N and demonstrate the alkalinity effect of the electrolyte on the electrocatalytic performance of HMFOR. | Bo Zhou Chung-Li Dong Yu-Cheng Huang Nana Zhang Yandong Wu Yuxuan Lu Xu Yue Zhaohui Xiao Yuqin Zou Shuangyin Wang | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,10: | 1 |
