| 2 | Fault activity characteristics in the northern margin of the Tibetan Plateau before the Menyuan Ms6.4 earthquake显示文摘Fault deformation characteristics in the northern margin of the Tibetan Plateau before the Menyuan Ms6.4 earthquake are investigated through time-series and structural geological analysis based on cross-fault observation data from the Qilian Mountaine Haiyuan Fault belt and the West Qinling Fault belt. The results indicate: 1) Group short-term abnormal variations appeared in the Qilian Mountaine Haiyuan Fault belt and the West Qinling Fault belt before the Menyuan Ms6.4 earthquake. 2) More medium and short-term anomalies appear in the middle-eastern segment of the Qilian Mountain Fault belt and the West Qinling Fault belt, suggesting that the faults' activities are strong in these areas. The faults' activities in the middle-eastern segment of the Qilian Fault belt result from extensional stress, as before the earthquake, whereas those in the West Qinling Fault belt are mainly compressional. 3) In recent years, moderate-strong earthquakes occurred in both the Kunlun Mountain and the Qilian Mountain Fault belts, and some energy was released. It is possible that the seismicity moved eastward under this regime. | 6 | Effect of Solving Models on Euler Vectors显示文摘In the process of solving Euler vectors based on GNSS horizontal movement field,the number of estimated parameters can affect Euler vector results. This issue is analyzed through theoretical deduction and practical example in this paper. Firstly,the difference between the results of Euler vectors in different solving models is deduced. Meanwhile, based on GNSS horizontal movement field in the Chinese mainland from 2004 to 2007,two common models( RRM and REHSM) are used to discuss the impact of solving models on Euler vectors and the follow-up study. The result shows that the maximum value of the difference in a block's entire rotation can reach 2. 6mm /a,and should not be ignored. | 7 | Extension Model of Crustal Uplifting in Western Shandong显示文摘Block faults, as the -dominant tectonic framwork of western Shandong, were formed by the linked extensional fault system through two extensional movements during the Meso-Cenozoic. Both of the extensional movements experienced the same evloutional process: first, the upper crust was pulled apart to form faults; then the Tai-Lu-Yi (Taishan-Lushan-Yishan) fault block occurring in the footwall of the extensional fault was uplifted, which induced the shallow-level detachment movement along the early Precambrian and Palaeozoic unconformity; the ' branching' fault in the upper part of the deep-level detachment layer propagated. As the shallow detachment moved towards the north and the deep one towards the south, the Tai-Lu-Yi fault block acted as the common footwall of both the southern and northern detachment systems. The Tai-Lu-Yi fault block rebounded and uplifted as the overlying material was pulled apart to cause an unloading.
