| 5 | Methylesterification of cell-wall pectin controls the diurnal flower-opening times in rice显示文摘Flowers are the core reproductive organ of plants, and flowering is essential for cross-pollination. Diurnal flower-opening time is thus a key trait influencing reproductive isolation, hybrid breeding, and thermostability in plants. However, the molecular mechanisms controlling this trait remain unknown. Here, we report that rice Diurnal Flower Opening Time 1 (DFOT1) modulates pectin methylesterase (PME) activity to regulate pectin methylesterification levels of the lodicule cell walls, which affect lodicule swelling to control diurnal flower-opening time. DFOT1 is specifically expressed in the lodicules, and its expression gradually increases with the approach to flowering but decreases with flowering. Importantly, a knockout of DFOT1 showed earlier diurnal flower opening. We demonstrate that DFOT1 interacts directly with multiple PMEs to promote their activity. Knockout of PME40 also resulted in early diurnal flower opening, whereas overexpression of PME42 delayed diurnal flower opening. Lower PME activity was observed to be associated with higher levels of pectin methylesterification and the softening of cell walls in lodicules, which contribute to the absorption of water by lodicules and cause them to swell, thus promoting early diurnal flower opening. Higher PME activity had the opposite effect. | 6 | Thermal Evolution of Plutons and Uplift Process of the Yanshan Orogenic Belt显示文摘Thermochronological dating was used to study the thermal evolution of the Mesozoic plutons and uplift history of the Yanshan orogenic belt. The results show that the cooling history of the plutons is complicated, corresponding to the inhomogeneous uplift process of the Yanshan orogenic belt. The Panshan granite cooled fast during 226.48-204.95 Ma at a rate of 10.22℃/Ma after its emplacement at a depth of about 10 km, and its fast uplift occurred in about 96-35 Ma at an average rate of 0.115 mm/a. The Wulingshan pluton cooled fast during 132-127.23 Ma at a rate of 94.34℃/Ma, and its rapid uplift occurred in 86-45 Ma at an average rate of 0.186 mm/a. The Yunmengshan granite cooled fast during 143-120.99 Ma at a rate of 19.51℃/Ma, and its rapid uplift occurred in 106-103.95 Ma and 20-0.0 Ma at a rate of 1.06 mm/a and 0.15 mm/a respectively. | 9 | Definition of the Quaternary Qiangtang Paleolake in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China显示文摘Since the Quaternary, many lakes have been present in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. As peculiar geological processes in the evolution of the uplifting of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, the distributions and evolutions of the Quaternary paleolakes in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau have been the focus of interest among the international geosciences circle. Comparisons of the newly obtained and existing data from field surveys, remote sensing images, characteristics of tectonic landforms and distribution of the lacustrine strata, the author have, for the first time, defined a large-sized Quaternary Qiangtang Paleolake. The paleolake starts from the east-westerly direction at Rutog in western Tibet, passing through Gêrzê, and finally ends at Nagqu in eastern Tibet. Its length is approximately 1,200 km; it is about 420 km at its widest point (north-southerly). The Paleolake forms an E-W (or NWW) ellipsoid with an estimated area of 354920 km2 . The Paleolake is bordered by the Mts. Gangdisê and Nyainqêntanglha to the south and the Karakorum Pass-Tozê Kangri-Zangbagangri-Tanggula Pass to the north. It generally appears as a basinal landform with low mountains and valleys in the central part (altitudes of 4400 m) and higher altitudes (5000 m) in the peripheries. The formation and development of the Paleolake was controlled by the nearly E-W trending structures. There are three east-westerly extending tectonic sutures inside the Paleolake area, from north to south: (1) the Shuanghu Suture; (2) the Bangong Co-Nujiang River Suture; (3) the Shiquanhe-Lhari Suture. These three sutures have generally controlled the spreading features of the Paleolake and act as the first grade lake-controlling structures. In the southern Paleolake basin, there are a series of south-northerly rift basins, which are controlled by the normal faults and exist as a series of south-northerly grabens and semi-graben faulted basins. The south-northerly rift zones have clearly exerted control over the south margin of the Paleolake as well as the distribution of the residual lake basins after the Paleolake's break up. They are the secondary lake-controlling tectonics. Discoveries of the lacustrine strata inside the Plateau, especially the successive discoveries of many high-stand lacustrine strata, are direct evidence supporting the existence of the paleolakes in the Plateau. The dating results of the lake-eroded travertine in the Dong Co in the hinterland of the Quaternary Qiangtang Paleolake have revealed that the lake-eroded travertine is of Late Pleistocene sediments. By considering the analysis of the lacustrine strata as well, the researchers have revealed that the Quaternary Qiangtang Paleolake begins its embryonic form in the Early Pleistocene, successively develops till the Middle Pleistocene, and reaches its full blossom in the middle stage of the Late Pleistocene; it further shrinks and separates by the end of the Late Pleistocene, and finally ceases its whole life as the paleolake. After the Holocene, the huge Late Pleistocene Qiangtang Paleolake no longer exists, leaving a series of widely distributed smaller lakes on the Qiangtang Plateau. | 12 | Magnetochronology of Late Miocene Mammal Fauna in Xining Basin,NE Tibetan Plateau, China显示文摘The Xining basin is located in the northeastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is a rift basin formed in Mesozoic and Cenozoic and structurally belongs to the intersection of Kunlun and Qilian Mountains. Cenozoic fluvial and lacustrine sedimentary strata are continuous in the Xining basin, with a thickness of more than 800 m, completely recording the deformation uplifting, weathering and denudation history and climate change process of the northeastern plateau. Currently, early Miocene Xijia fauna, early Middle Miocene Danshuilu fauna and late Middle Miocene Diaogou fauna are discovered in the Xining basin, which provide an important basis for the stratigraphic correlation of the Cenozoic strata in the Xining basin. However, in the next few decades, there are no reports about the large mammal fossils in the Xining basin, especially about late Miocene fauna. The author discovered a large amount of mammal fossils in the Neogene sedimentary strata in Huzhu area, Xining basin. According to the identification results of the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, these fossils mainly included Hipparion dongxiangense, Chilotherium sp., Parelasmotherium sp., Stephanocemas sp. and Kubanochoerus sp. and their age was early Late Miocene. Since the discovery of this set of fossils directly filled the blank that there were no large mammal fossils in the Xining basin in Late Miocene, it was very important for studying the magnetic stratigraphic chronology of fossil-forming strata and establishing the paleomagnetic chronology scale plate of mammal fossils. In this paper, the paleomagnetic data of the fossil-forming stratigraphic profile, Banyan profile, were measured and the paleomagnetic records were collected through high density sampling, and finally the paleomagnetic polarity column of the profile was established. The results showed that five positive and five negative polarity segments were recorded in Banyan profile, which corresponded well to the polarity between C3 Br.1 n-C4 n.2 n in the standard polarity column. The age of profile top was about 7.25 Ma and profile bottom was about 8.4 Ma, with an age range of 1.15 Ma. The mammal fossils discovered this time were exposed between positive and negative polarities N5 and R5 at the bottom of the profile, corresponding to C4 r.1 r at negative polarity and C4 n.2 n at positive polarity in the standard polarity column. The age of mammal fossils was about 8.3 Ma. | 13 | ANALYSIS OF OPEN MICROSTRIP STRUCTURES BY USING DIAKOPTIC METHOD OF LINES COMBINED WITH PERIODIC BOUNDARY CONDITIONS显示文摘This paper presents the analysis of open microstrip structures by using diakoptic method of lines (ML) combined with periodic boundary conditions (PBC). The parameters of microstrip patch are obtained from patch current excited by plane wave. Impedance matrix elements are computed by using fast Fourier transform(FFT), and reduced equation is solved by using diakoptic technique. Consequently, the computing time is reduced significantly. The convergence property of simulating open structure by using PBC and the comparison of the computer time between using PBC and usual absorbing boundary condition (ABC) show the validity of the method proposed in this paper. Finally, the resonant frequency of a microstrip patch is computed. | 14 | High-grade Cocoon Filament Silkworm Chuanshan ×Shushui for Spring and Autumn Rearing显示文摘Chuanshan × Shushui is a high-grade cocoon filament silkworm variety for spring and autumn rearing bred by Nanchong Silkworm Eggs Farm through systematic breeding method. The characteristics of stock seed and F1 hybrid of silkworm variety Chuanshan × Shushui and their breeding technical points and precautions were introduced in the paper. Laboratory identification and rural breeding results showed that Chuanshan × Shushui was characterized by physical strength, high cocoon weight, good cocoon quality and superior neatness, and the cocoons produced could reel 5A-6A class raw silk. The variety was suitable for breeding in silkworm areas in Sichuan, Yunnan and Shaanxi provinces. | 15 | Herbaceous Cultivation Test of Mulberry in Sichuan Sericultural Area显示文摘With Guiteyou 2 as the test mulberry variety, mulberry herbaceous cultivation field was established at the planting densities of 60 000,90 000 and 120 000 plants/hm^2, respectively. Hybrid mulberry herbaceous cultivation test was conducted, with Tongxiangqing mulberry field of mid-fist-form at conventional planting density of 4 995 plants/hm^2 as the control. The results showed that the leaf yield of herbaceous cultivation mulberry was closely related to the planting density. With the increasing planting density, the leaf yield per plant was decreasing, but the leaf yield per unit area of mulberry field was increasing. The annual leaf yield per unit area in the mulberry field with the average planting density of 120 000 plants/hm^2 was 37 560 kg/hm^2, 2.14 times of that of the control field. The moisture content of mulberry leaf in herbaceous cultivation field was 4.74% higher than the control; the contents of crude protein, crude fat, crude fiber and crude ash were 1.264%, 0.014%, 0.744% and 0.002%lower than the control, respectively. Comparison of leaf rearing with herbaceous cultivation mulberry and control mulberry showed that there was no significant difference in growth status of silkworm. The cocoon weight, cocoon shell weight, cocoon yield per 10 000 larvae, cocoon filament length and non-broken filament length of Chuanshan × Shushui were 12.81%, 14.29%, 13.85%, 5.95% and 7.68% lower than the control, respectively; but the percentage of common cocoons was 0.16% higher than the control; the cleanness and neatness were 0.2 and 1.25 points higher than the control;the filament size was 0.196 dtex lower than the control. | 16 | High molecular weight n-alkanes of high-waxy condensate and its source kitchen orientation in the Qianmiqiao burial-hill zone, Bohai Gulf Basin显示文摘The high-waxy condensate in the Qianmiqiao Ordovician burial-hill zone, Bohai Gulf Basin, North China has been investigated by way of high temperature gas chromatography. As high-mature oil, its high molecular weight wax fraction is mainly composed of C35—C69 n-alkanes with CPI37—55 values of 0.94—1.10. On conditions that core-drilling of source rocks was limited and the exact location of source kitchen is still uncertain in the region, it is inferred that the ori-entation of main source kitchen for the condensate should be on the east of the burial-hill zone, i.e. from the direction of Qikou Sag, according to oil-oil correlation between the condensate and surrounding high-waxy oils as well as lateral distribution of the wax content of crude oils.
