1Remote Monitoring of Expansion of Aquaculture Ponds Along Coastal Region of the Yellow River Delta from 1983 to 2015显示文摘Aquaculture ponds are one of the fastest-growing land use types in valuable and fertile coastal areas and have caused serious environmental problems. Quantitative assessment of the extent, spatial distribution, and dynamics of aquaculture ponds is of utmost importance for sustainable economic development and scientific management of land and water resources in the coastal area. An object-oriented classification approach was applied to Landsat images acquired over three decades to investigate the long-term change of aquaculture ponds in the coastal region of the Yellow River Delta. The results indicated that the aquaculture ponds in the study area undergone a sharp expansion from 40.38 km^2 in 1983 to 1406.89 km^2 in 2015, and the fast expansion occurred during the period of 2010–2015 and 1990–2000. Natural wetlands, especially mudflat, and cropland were main land use types contributing to the increase of aquaculture ponds. The patches of aquaculture ponds were consequently prevalence in the north of the Yellow River Estuary and landscape metrics indicated an increase of the aquaculture ponds of the study area in the quantity and complexity. 2Recent advances in gel polymer electrolyte for high-performance lithium batteries显示文摘Lithium batteries (LBs) have become increasingly important energy storage systems in our daily life. However, their practical applications are still severely plagued by the safety issues from liquid electrolyte, especially when the batteries are exposed to mechanical, thermal, or electrical abuse conditions. Gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) are being considered as an effective solution to replace currently available organic liquid electrolyte for building safer LBs. This review provides recent advancements in GPEs applied for high-performance LBs. On the one hand, from the environmental and economic point of view, the skeletons of GPEs changed from traditional polymer to renewable and degradable polymer. On the other hand, in addition to being as a component with good electrochemical and physical characterizations, the GPEs also need to provide some functions for addressing the concerns of lithium (Li) dendrites, unstable cathode electrolyte interface, dissolution and migration of transition metal ions,'shuttle effect' of polysulfides, and so on. 3Evaluation of soil washing process with carboxymethyl-β-cyclodextrin and carboxymethyl chitosan for recovery of PAHs/heavy metals/fluorine from metallurgic plant site显示文摘Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)/heavy metals/fluorine(F) mixed-contaminated sites caused by abandoned metallurgic plants are receiving wide attention. To address the associated environmental problems,this study was initiated to investigate the feasibility of using carboxymethyl-β-cyclodextrin(CMCD) and carboxymethyl chitosan(CMC) solution to enhance ex situ soil washing for extracting mixed contaminants. Further,Tenax extraction method was combined with a first-three-compartment model to evaluate the environmental risk of residual PAHs in washed soil. In addition,the redistribution of heavy metals/F after decontamination was also estimated using a sequential extraction procedure. Three successive washing cycles using50 g/L CMCD and 5 g/L CMC solution were effective to remove 94.3% of total PAHs,93.2% of Pb,85.8% of Cd,93.4% of Cr,83.2% of Ni and 97.3% of F simultaneously. After the 3rd washing,the residual PAHs mainly existed as very slowly desorbing fractions,which were in the form of well-aged,well-sequestered compounds; while the remaining Pb,Cd,Cr,Ni and F mainly existed as Fe–Mn oxide and residual fractions,which were always present in stable mineral forms or bound to non-labile soil fractions. 4Preparation and in vitro-in vivo evaluation of intestinal retention pellets of Berberine chloride to enhance hypoglycemic and lipid-lowing efficacy显示文摘Berberine chloride(BBR) is a pharmacokinetic profile of drug with poor bioavailability but good therapeutic efficacy,which is closely related to the discovery of BBR intestinal target.The major aim of this paper is to develop BBR intestinal retention type sustained-release pellets and evaluate their in vivo and in vitro behaviors base on the aspect of local action on intestinal tract. Here,wet milling technology is used to improve dissolution and dissolution rate of BBR by decreasing the particle size and increasing the wettability. The pellets are prepared by liquid layer deposition technology,and then the core pellets are coated with Eudragit~?L30 D-55 and Eudragit~?NE30 D aqueous dispersion. The prepared pellets show high drug loading capacity,and the drug loading up to 93%. Meanwhile,it possesses significant sustained drug release effect in purified water which is expected to improve the pharmacokinetic behavior of BBR. The pharmacokinetics results demonstrate that the halflife of BBR was increased significantly from 24 h to 36 h and the inter-and intra-subject variability are decreased compared to commercial BBR tablets. The retention test results indicate that the pellet size and Eudragit~?NE30 D plays an important role in retention time of the pellet,and it is found that the pellets with small particle size and high Eudragit~?NE30 D coating content can stay longer in the intestine than the pellets with large particle size. 5Ectopic expression of VRT-A2 underlies the origin of Triticum polonicum and Triticum petropavlovskyi with long outer glumes and grains显示文摘Polish wheat (Triticum polonicum) is a unique tetraploid wheat species characterized by an elongated outer glume. The genetic control of the long-glume trait by a single semi-dominant locus, P1 (from Polish wheat), was established more than 100 years ago, but the underlying causal gene and molecular nature remain elusive. Here, we report the isolation of VRT-A2, encoding an SVP-clade MADS-box transcription factor, as the P1 candidate gene. Genetic evidence suggests that in T. polonicum, a naturally occurring sequence rearrangement in the intron-1 region of VRT-A2 leads to ectopic expression of VRT-A2 in floral organs where the long-glume phenotype appears. Interestingly, we found that the intron-1 region is a key ON/OFF molecular switch for VRT-A2 expression, not only because it recruits transcriptional repressors, but also because it confers intron-mediated transcriptional enhancement. Genotypic analyses using wheat accessions indicated that the P1 locus is likely derived from a single natural mutation in tetraploid wheat, which was subsequently inherited by hexaploid T. petropavlovskyi. 6A high-energy-density sodium-ion full battery based on tin anode显示文摘Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) have been considered as promising candidates for large-scale energy storage, owing to the high abundance and low cost of sodium(Na) resources. However, the development of full SIB has been hindered by low energy density because of the sluggish kinetics of large Na^+. Here, we report a full SIB with commercial tin(Sn) anode, cross-linked Na_3V_2(PO_4)_3/carbon nanotubes composites(NVP-CNT) cathode, and ether-based electrolyte. Sn is capable of delivering high reversible capacity via formation of Na15 Sn4 and stable solid-electrolyte interface(SEI) in initial cycles. Meanwhile, the NASICON-type NVP enables ultrafast and stable Na^+intercalation/extraction, and the incorporation of CNT can improve its electrical conductivity. The assembled full SIB delivers high output voltage of ~3.2 V, high energy density of 253.4 W h kg^(-1) at1600 W kg^(-1) based on total mass of both cathode and anode, and remarkable capacity retention of 96.1% after 180 cycles. 7Myocardin-related transcription factor A cooperates with brahmarelated gene 1 to activate P-selectin transcription显示文摘Expression of P-selectin in injured or activated endothelia cells serves as a permissive step towards leukocyte recruitment and perpetuation of inflammation in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis.P-selectin can be induced by pro-inflammatory stimuli via the transcription factor NF-κB,but the epigenetic mechanisms remain incompletely understood.Previously we reported that myocardin-related transcription factor A(MRTF-A)mediates the transactivation of a slew of adhesion molecules by oxidized low-density lipoprotein(oxLDL),likely through a crosstalk with brahma-related gene 1(BRGl),a chromatin remodeling protein.Here,we show that MRTF-A was both sufficient and necessary for the transactivation of P-selectin gene in endothelial cells treated with TNF-α.Depletion of MRTF-A using small interfering RNA(siRNA)abrogated the binding of BRGl on the P-selectin promoter.Overexpression of BRG1 up-regulated the activity of P-selectin promoter activity while BRGl knockdown attenuated P-selectin expression.Finally,BRGl silencing suppressed the accumulation of acetylated histone H3 and methylated histone H3K4,and altered the binding of NF-κB on the P-selectin promoter.Therefore,our data demonstrate an essential role for MRTF-A and BRGl in P-selectin transactivation in endothelial cells.Mingzi Song Mingming Fang Liming Yu Yong Xu 2016The Journal of Biomedical Research2016,30,1:2
8Preferentially released miR-122 from cyclodextrin-based star copolymer nanoparticle enhances hepatoma chemotherapy by apoptosis induction and cytotoxics efflux inhibition显示文摘Chemotherapy,as one of the most commonly used treatment modalities for cancer therapy,provides limited benefits to hepatoma patients,owing to its inefficient delivery as well as the intrinsic chemo-resistance of hepatoma.Bioinformatic analysis identified the therapeutic role of a liver-specific microRNA-miR-122 for enhancing chemo-therapeutic efficacy in hepatoma.Herein,a cyclodextrin-cored star copolymer nanoparticle system(sCDP/DOX/miR-122)is constructed to co-deliver miR-122 with doxorubicin(DOX)for hepatoma therapy.In this nanosystem,miR-122 is condensed by the outer cationic poly(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate)chains of sCDP while DOX is accommodated in the inner hydrophobic cyclodextrin cavities,endowing a sequential release manner of miR-122 and DOX.The preferentially released miR-122 not only directly induces cell apoptosis by down regulation of Bcl-w and enhanced p53 activity,but also increases DOX accumulation through inhibiting cytotoxic efflux transporter expression,which realizes synergistic performance on cell inhibition.Moreover,sCDP/DOX/miR-122 displays remarkably increased anti-tumor efficacy in vivo compared to free DOX and sCDP/DOX alone,indicating its great promising in hepatoma therapy.Qingqing Xiong Yang Bai Run Shi Jian Wang Weiguo Xu Mingming Zhang Tianqiang Song 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,11:2

15A Bayesian Recommender Model for User Rating and Review Profiling显示文摘Intuitively, not only do ratings include abundant information for learning user preferences, but also reviews accompanied by ratings. However, most existing recommender systems take rating scores for granted and discard the wealth of information in accompanying reviews. In this paper, in order to exploit user profiles' information embedded in both ratings and reviews exhaustively, we propose a Bayesian model that links a traditional Collaborative Filtering(CF) technique with a topic model seamlessly. By employing a topic model with the review text and aligning user review topics with 'user attitudes'(i.e., abstract rating patterns) over the same distribution, our method achieves greater accuracy than the traditional approach on the rating prediction task. Moreover, with review text information involved, latent user rating attitudes are interpretable and 'cold-start' problem can be alleviated.This property qualifies our method for serving as a 'recommender' task with very sparse datasets. Furthermore,unlike most related works, we treat each review as a document, not all reviews of each user or item together as one document, to fully exploit the reviews' information. 18Assembly of highly efficient aqueous light-harvesting system from sequence-defined peptoids for cytosolic microRNA detection显示文摘Precisely controlled spatial distributions of artificial light-harvesting systems in aqueous media are of significant importance for mimicking natural light-harvesting systems;however,they are often restrained by the solubility and the aggregation-caused quenching effect of the hydrophobic chromophores.Herein,we report one highly efficient artificial light-harvesting system based on peptoid nanotubes that mimic the hierarchical cylindrical structure of natural systems.The high crystallinity of these nanotubes enabled the organization of arrays of donor chromophores with precisely controlled spatial distributions,favoring an efficient Förster resonance energy transfer(FRET)process in aqueous media.This FRET system exhibits an extremely high efficiency of 98.6%with a fluorescence quantum yield of 40%and an antenna effect of 29.9.We further demonstrated the use of this artificial light-harvesting system for quantifying miR-210 within cancer cells.The fluorescence intensity ratio of donor to acceptor is linearly related to the concentration of intercellular miR-210 in the range of 3.3–156 copies/cell.Such high sensitivity in intracellular detection of miR-210 using this artificial light-harvesting system offers a great opportunity and pathways for biological imaging and detection,and for the further creation of microRNA(miRNA)toolbox for quantitative epigenetics and personalized medicine.Yang Song Xiaoli Cai Mingming Wang Dan Du Yuehe Lin Chun-Long Chen 2024Nano Research2024,17,2:1
19Acetylation of ezrin regulates membrane–cytoskeleton interaction underlying CCL18-elicited cell migration显示文摘Ezrin,a membrane–cytoskeleton linker protein,plays an essential role in cell polarity establishment,cell migration,and division.Recent studies show that ezrin phosphorylation regulates breast cancer metastasis by promoting cancer cell survivor and promotes intrahepatic metastasis via cell migration.However,it was less characterized whether there are additional post-translational modifications and/or post-translational crosstalks on ezrin underlying context-dependent breast cancer cell migration and invasion.Here we show that ezrin is acetylated by p300/CBP-associated factor(PCAF)in breast cancer cells in response to CCL18 stimulation.Ezrin physically interacts with PCAF and is a cognate substrate of PCAF.The acetylation site of ezrin was mapped by mass spectrometric analyses,and dynamic acetylation of ezrin is essential for CCL18-induced breast cancer cell migration and invasion.Mechanistically,the acetylation reduced the lipid-binding activity of ezrin to ensure a robust and dynamic cycling between the plasma membrane and cytosol in response to CCL18 stimulation.Biochemical analyses show that ezrin acetylation prevents the phosphorylation of Thr567.Using atomic force microscopic measurements,our study revealed that acetylation of ezrin induced its unfolding into a dominant structure,which prevents ezrin phosphorylation at Thr567.Thus,these results present a previously undefined mechanism by which CCL18-elicited crosstalks between the acetylation and phosphorylation on ezrin control breast cancer cell migration and invasion.This suggests that targeting PCAF signaling could be a potential therapeutic strategy for combating hyperactive ezrin-driven cancer progression.Xiaoyu Song Wanjuan Wang Haowei Wang Xiao Yuan Fengrui Yang Lingli Zhao McKay Mullen Shihao Du Najdat Zohbi Saravanakumar Muthusamy Yalei Cao Jiying Jiang Peng Xia Ping He Mingrui Ding Nerimah Emmett Mingming Ma Quan Wu Hadiyah-Nicole Green Xia Ding Dongmei Wang Fengsong Wang Xing Liu 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,6:1
