| 1 | A 600-year flood history in the Yangtze River drainage:Comparison between a subaqueous delta and historical records显示文摘Based on grain size analysis and high-resolution elemental scanning of core YD0901,taken from the subaqueous Yangtze River delta,a 600-year flood history was reconstructed for the Yangtze River drainage system.Zr/Rb ratios were chosen as a proxy for Yangtze River floods.Zr resides mainly in the coarse-grained minerals,and Rb is found in the fine-grained minerals.When floods occur,the discharge of the Yangtze River increases,which carries more coarse-grained minerals into the East China Sea.Therefore,deposition of coarse-grained minerals significantly increases relative to fine-grained minerals on the subaqueous delta,and subsequently the Zr/Rb ratios also increase.The higher the Zr/Rb peaks,the greater number of coarse particles deposited by saltation processes.Zr/Rb peaks correlate very well with historical records for Yangtze River floods.Especially at about AD 1870,the Zr/Rb ratio reached a maximum value over the last 600 years,which is consistent with 'the extreme flood event' in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River in AD 1870,as indicated in the historical records.Results show that floods have occurred at a relatively high frequency over the last 600 years,which is consistent with historical records when,during the Ming-Qing Dynasty,floods occurred once every 4 years.In addition,spectral analysis of the Zr/Rb ratio showed that there is close link between the Yangtze River floods and ENSO intensity. | WANG MinJie ZHENG HongBo XIE Xin FAN DaiDu YANG ShouYe ZHAO QuanHong WANG Ke | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,2: | 9 |

| 3 | Virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS)in Chinese narcissus and its use in functional analysis of NtMYB3显示文摘Virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS)is a natural defense mechanism of plants,which can cause sequence-specific degradation of viral RNA and is often used for studying the functional genome.At present,the VIGS system mediated by Tobacco rattle virus(TRV)has been successfully established in many plant species.However,the VIGS system in Chinese narcissus had not been reported yet.In this paper,the first use of the TRV-VIGS system in Chinese narcissus is described in detail.By injecting pTRV2-GFP into narcissus leaves,we confirmed that TRV could infect narcissus and move in narcissus plants.After the inoculation of pTRV2-Nt PDS by two methods,phenomena such as photo-bleaching appeared in narcissus leaves and qRT-PCR results proved that PDS gene of narcissus was successfully silenced.Besides,pTRV2-NtMYB3 was inoculated into basal plates of narcissus to study the function of NtMYB3;the results showed that NtMYB3 is an inhibitor of flavonoids biosynthesis,which can increase the content of proanthocyanidins in basal plates of narcissus by repressing the expression level of NtFLS.These results indicate that the TRV-VIGS system has been successfully established in Chinese narcissus and successfully applied to the functional study of NtMYB3. | Ping Zhou Jiayu Peng Minjie Zeng Lixuan Wu Yuxin Fan Lihui Zeng | 2021 | Horticultural Plant Journal2021,7,6: | 4 |
| 4 | A male-ABCD algorithm for hepatocellular carcinoma risk prediction in HBs Ag carriers显示文摘Objective: Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) development among hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag) carriers shows gender disparity, influenced by underlying liver diseases that display variations in laboratory tests. We aimed to construct a risk-stratified HCC prediction model for HBs Ag-positive male adults.Methods: HBs Ag-positive males of 35-69 years old(N=6,153) were included from a multi-center populationbased liver cancer screening study. Randomly, three centers were set as training, the other three centers as validation. Within 2 years since initiation, we administrated at least two rounds of HCC screening using Bultrasonography and α-fetoprotein(AFP). We used logistic regression models to determine potential risk factors,built and examined the operating characteristics of a point-based algorithm for HCC risk prediction.Results: With 2 years of follow-up, 302 HCC cases were diagnosed. A male-ABCD algorithm was constructed including participant's age, blood levels of GGT(γ-glutamyl-transpeptidase), counts of platelets, white cells,concentration of DCP(des-γ-carboxy-prothrombin) and AFP, with scores ranging from 0 to 18.3. The area under receiver operating characteristic was 0.91(0.90-0.93), larger than existing models. At 1.5 points of risk score,26.10% of the participants in training cohort and 14.94% in validation cohort were recognized at low risk, with sensitivity of identifying HCC remained 100%. At 2.5 points, 46.51% of the participants in training cohort and 33.68% in validation cohort were recognized at low risk with 99.06% and 97.78% of sensitivity, respectively. | 5 | Different self-assembly behaviors of mono-modified β-cyclodextrin substituted by benzoic acid derivatives显示文摘The mono-modified β-cyclodextrin derivative,6-O-(4-aminobenzoyl)-β-cyclodextrin(1) ,was synthesized and characterized. We compared its self-assembling behavior with structurally related β-cyclodextrin derivative,6-O-(4-hydroxybenzoyl)-βcyclodextrin(2) ,in aqueous solution and in the solid state using NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray structure analysis. | 14 | Application of three-dimensional printed navigation templates to correct lower limb deformities in children by the guided growth technique显示文摘Objective Currently,individualized navigation templates are rarely applied in pediatric orthopedic surgery.This study aimed to explore the potential of navigation templates obtained using computer-aided design and three-dimensional(3D)printing to correct lower limb deformities in children by the guided growth technique.Methods We prospectively studied 45 children with leg length discrepancy(LLD)or lower limb angular deformities,who underwent guided growth surgery involving 8-plate.In total,21 and 24 children were included in the navigation template(group A)group and in the traditional surgery(group B)group,respectively.Mimics software was used for designing and printing navigation templates.The operation time,X-ray radiation exposure,damage to cartilage,and postoperative complications were recorded.Results The mean operation time in groups A and B were 20.78 and 28.39 min,respectively,and the difference was statistically significant.Compared with group B,the intraoperative exposure of X-rays in group A was reduced by 25%on average.After 9-24 months of follow-up,the deformities were corrected in both groups.No significant differences in the treatment effect were noted between the groups,and no complications occurred.Conclusions Using the individualized navigation template in the guided growth technique made the surgical procedure convenient and simple to perform.In addition,the operation time and intraoperative exposure to X-rays were reduced.We consider that 3D printed navigation templates can facilitate the accurate completion of corrective surgeries for lower limb deformities in children,which is worthy of promotion and application. | Minjie Fan Yinming Wang Haotian Pang Yiwei Wang Peng Xu Yue Lou Pengfei Zheng Kai Tang | 2022 | World Journal of Pediatric Surgery2022,5,3: | 0 |
