| 2 | Pollution characteristics, sources and lung cancer risk of atmospheric polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in a new urban district of Nanjing, China显示文摘This paper focused on the pollution characteristics,sources and lung cancer risk of atmospheric polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) in a new urban district of Nanjing,China.Gaseous and aerosol PM_(2.5)(particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter smaller than2.5 urn) samples were collected in spring of 2015.Sixteen PAHs were extracted and analyzed after sampling.Firstly,arithmetic mean concentrations of PAHs and BaP_(eq)(benzo[a]pyrene equivalent) were calculated.The mean concentrations of PAHs were 29.26±14.13,18.14±5.37 and 48.47±16.03 ng/m^3 in gas phase,particle phase and both phases,respectively.The mean concentrations of BaP_(eq) were 0.87±0.51,2.71±2.17 and 4.06±2.31 ng/m^3 in gas phase,particle phase and both phases,respectively.Secondly,diagnostic ratios and principal component analysis were adopted to identify the sources of PAHs and the outcomes were the same:traffic exhaust was the predominant source followed by fuel combustion and industrial process.Finally,incremental lung cancer risk(ILCR) induced by whole year inhalation exposure to PAHs for population groups of different age and gender were estimated based on a Monte Carlo simulation.ILCR values caused by particle phase PAHs were greater than those caused by gas phase PAHs.ILCR values for adults were greater than those for other age groups.ILCR values caused by total(gas + particle) PAHs for diverse groups were all greater than the significant level(10~6),indicating high potential lung cancer risk.Sensitivity analysis results showed that cancer slope factor for BaP inhalation exposure and BaP_(eq) concentration had greater impact than body weight and inhalation rate on the ILCR. | Tao Wang Zhonghuan Xia Minmin Wu Qianqian Zhang Shiqi Sun Jing Yin Yanchi Zhou Hao Yang | 2017 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,5: | 7 |
| 3 | The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. | 4 | A Method for Software Vulnerability Detection Based on Improved Control Flow Graph显示文摘With the rapid development of software technology, software vulnerability has become a major threat to computer security. The timely detection and repair of potential vulnerabilities in software, are of great significance in reducing system crashes and maintaining system security and integrity. This paper focuses on detecting three common types of vulnerabilities: Unused_Variable, Use_of_Uninitialized_Variable, and Use_After_ Free. We propose a method for software vulnerability detection based on an improved control flow graph(ICFG) and several predicates of vulnerability properties for each type of vulnerability. We also define a set of grammar rules for analyzing and deriving the three mentioned types of vulnerabilities, and design three vulnerability detection algorithms to guide the process of vulnerability detection. In addition, we conduct cases studies of the three mentioned types of vulnerabilities with real vulnerability program segments from Common Weakness Enumeration(CWE). The results of the studies show that the proposed method can detect the vulnerability in the tested program segments. Finally, we conduct manual analysis and experiments on detecting the three types of vulnerability program segments(30 examples for each type) from CWE, to compare the vulnerability detection effectiveness of the proposed method with that of the existing detection tool Cpp Check. The results show that the proposed method performs better. | 9 | Sodium Superionic Conductors(NASICONs)as Cathode Materials for Sodium‑Ion Batteries显示文摘Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)have developed rapidly owing to the high natural abundance,wide distribution,and low cost of sodium.Among the various materials used in SIBs,sodium superion conductor(NASICON)-based electrode materials with remarkable structural stability and high ionic conductivity are one of the most promising candidates for sodium storage electrodes.Nevertheless,the relatively low electronic conductivity of these materials makes them display poor electrochemical performance,significantly limiting their practical application.In recent years,the strategies of enhancing the inherent conductivity of NASICON-based cathode materials have been extensively studied through coating the active material with a conductive carbon layer,reducing the size of the cathode material,combining the cathode material with various carbon materials,and doping elements in the bulk phase.In this paper,we review the recent progress in the development of NASICON-based cathode materials for SIBs in terms of their synthesis,characterization,functional mechanisms,and performance validation/optimization.The advantages and disadvantages of such SIB cathode materials are analyzed,and the relationship between electrode structures and electrochemical performance as well as the strategies for enhancing their electrical conductivity and structural stability is highlighted.Some technical challenges of NASICON-based cathode materials with respect to SIB performance are analyzed,and several future research directions are also proposed for overcoming the challenges toward practical applications. | Qingbo Zhou Linlin Wang Wenyao Li Kangning Zhao Minmin Liu Qian Wu Yujie Yang Guanjie He Ivan P.Parkin Paul R.Shearing Dan J.L.Brett Jiujun Zhang Xueliang Sun | 2021 | Electrochemical Energy Reviews2021,4,4: | 1 |

| 11 | Characterizing the Lassa Virus Envelope Glycoprotein Membrane Proximal External Region for Its Role in Fusogenicity显示文摘The membrane-proximal external region(MPER)of Lassa virus(LASV)glycoprotein complex(GPC)is critical in modulating its functionality.Till now,the high-resolution structure of the intact GPC,including MPER is not available.In this study,we used alanine substitution to scan all 16 residues located in LASV MPER.Western blotting and quantification fusion assay showed that the residues located at the C terminus of the HR2(M414 and L415)and N terminus of the MPER(K417 and Y419)are critical for GPC-mediated membrane fusion function.Furthermore,cell surface biotinylation experiments revealed that M414 A,K417 A and Y419 A expressed similar levels as WT,whereas L415 A mutant led to a reduction of mature GPC on the cell surface.Moreover,substitution of these residues with the similar residue such as M414 L,L415 I,K417 R and Y419 F would partly compensate the loss of the fusion activity caused by the alanine mutant in these sites.Results from this study showed that several key residues in the MPER region are indispensable to promote the conformational changes that drive fusion events and shed light on the structure analysis of LASV GPC and anti-LASV therapeutics. | Junyuan Cao Guangshun Zhang Minmin Zhou Yang Liu Gengfu Xiao Wei Wang | 2021 | Virologica Sinica2021,36,2: | 1 |

| 16 | Large eddy simulation of a 660 MW utility boiler under variable load conditions显示文摘Large eddy simulation (LES) has become a promising tool for pulverized coal combustion with the development of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technologies in recent years. LES can better capture the unsteady features and turbulent structures of coal jet flame than Reynolds averaged Navier Stokes (RANS). The coal-fired power plants in China are now required to be operated in a wide load range and quickly respond to the electric grid. The boiler performance of variable loads should be evaluated in terms of flow, heat transfer, and combustion processes. In this paper, LES was applied to simulate a 660 MW ultra-supercritical boiler under BMCR (boiler maximum continue rate), 75%THA-100, and 50%THA-100 conditions. The predicted gas velocities agree well with the thermal calculation and the temperature error is less than 130 K. The simulation results show that the operation load has significant effects on the boiler performance. | 17 | Identification of a three-gene signature in the triple-negative breast cancer显示文摘This work aimed to improve current prognostic signatures based on clinical stages in identifying high-risk patients of triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC),to allow patients with a high-risk score for specific treatment decisions.In this study,396 TNBC samples from TCGA and GEO databases were included in genome-wide transcriptome analysis.The relationship between normalized gene expression values and survival data of patients was determined by Cox proportional hazards models in each dataset.The overlapped genes among all datasets were considered as a potential prognostic signature.The risk score was constructed based on individual genes and validated with three separate data sets and the combined dataset.Moreover,the Kaplan–Meier analysis including the log-rank test was performed to determine significantly statistical differences in overall survival.The association analysis between DNA methylation levels and gene expression levels of three genes was measured in the TCGA data set.In Cox proportional hazards model analysis,the result showed that potential protective genes included 564 genes in GSE25066 dataset,1132 genes in GSE103091 dataset and 564 genes in TCGA dataset,potentially risky genes contained 1132 genes in GSE25066 dataset,475 genes in GSE25066 dataset and 1115 genes in TCGA dataset.In all datasets,patients in high-risk groups showed worse prognosis than low-risk groups.Multivariate Cox regression analysis displayed that the 3-gene signature(DCAF4,UQCRFS1 and SS18)was an independent prognostic factor in TNBC.The AUC values of the 3-gene signature were 0.71,0.73 and 0.77 in GSE25066,GSE103091 and TCGA dataset,respectively.The model,which combined the 3-gene signature(DCAF4,UQCRFS1 and SS18)with the tumor stage(pathological stage or pathological T stage),showed a stronger prognostic power for survival prediction.The 3-genes prognostic signature may be a useful biomarker for survival prediction in TNBC patients and may contribute to patient classification in the same tumor stages and individualized clinical treatment. | LIPING WANG ZHOU LUO MINMIN SUN QIUYUE YUAN YINGGANG ZOU DEYUAN FU | 2022 | BIOCELL2022,46,3: | 0 |

| 20 | Highly expressed SERCA2 triggers tumor cell autophagy and is a druggable vulnerability in triple-negative breast cancer显示文摘Chemoresistance remains a major obstacle to successful treatment of triple negative breast cancer(TNBC).Identification of druggable vulnerabilities is an important aim for TNBC therapy.Here,we report that SERCA2 expression correlates with TNBC progression in human patients,which promotes TNBC cell proliferation,migration and chemoresistance.Mechanistically,SERCA2 interacts with LC3B via LIR motif,facilitating WIPI2-independent autophagosome formation to induce autophagy.Autophagy-mediated SERCA2 degradation induces SERCA2 transactivation through a Ca^(2+)/CaMKK/CREB-1 feedback.Moreover,we found that SERCA2-targeting small molecule RL71 enhances SERCA2-LC3B interaction and induces excessive autophagic cell death.The increase in SERCA2 expression predisposes TNBC cells to RL71-induced autophagic cell death in vitro and in vivo.This study elucidates a mechanism by which TNBC cells maintain their high autophagy activity to induce chemoresistance,and suggests increased SERCA2 expression as a druggable vulnerability for TNBC. | Minmin Fan Jian Gao Lin Zhou Wenwen Xue Yixuan Wang Jingwei Chen Wuhao Li Ying Yu Bo Liu Yan Shen Qiang Xu | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,12: | 0 |
